I for one can’t wait. On April 1, the official Anniversary, it is also my birthday. So.. I took the day off from work, and will be watching and toasting both events. The only sad part.. Mom won’t be here to share it with.

YES, YES, YES, cannot wait for all of it! I am l loving the way they are sliding characters from the past back & weaving them seamlessly into currents stories! Just love every minute every day. So thankful to still have my shows. I am excited to get up every day & watch. I watch every show currently on the air & can’t wait for OLTL to get back on, if I can find the time I’ll try to get back into AMC. It is HARD to keep up with all the shows now that I do not have my… Read more »

The on air show was great today. I loved that Sabrina finally confessed her crush to Patrick and that Epiphany put Patrick in his place.

With all this publicity ABC has been getting 4 GHs 50th, theyd be a fool to cancel the show knowing all the attention its given them. But you never know with these networks. Hopefully after the nurses ball ect. the ratings will still be there and the show will eventually be extended past 2014. The biggest suspense will see what happens next after the nurses ball and vets return is over. That will be the real test if FV and RC can keep our interest up. Theyve done an amazing job so far and im hoping that’ll continue as well… Read more »

I’ve been thinking about that too… there doesn’t seem to be too much story on the show that doesn’t involve an exiting OLTL cast member or a GH veteran that will be walking out the door. I don’t mind, I love the show and trust RC as head writer… but agree that there’s an element of suspense for when the party’s over. However, at the end of the day, I think the last time I was this invested in GH was back in the mid90s back during Luke/Laura’s original return, the Ward family, etc.

Does anyone remember Daffy Doodle on GH? Back in the 1980s Laura went missing for some time. Then on a cliffhanger episode we were about to see her return but that was delayed by one episode because some insane writer decided to tease us by doing a short story arc invovling this clown named Daffy Doodle featured in the entire 1 hour. We aggravated fans had to wait the next day to see Luke reunite with Laura. Now im thinking how cool that would be if it happened again. On April 1st is GHs long awaited 50th anniversary. What if… Read more »

Never happen.. but I wouldn’t put it past someone to preempt half the hour by a news story about a stolen bicycle… other than the Pope and Sandy, I don’t really see why ‘big news’ always seems to happen during this show rather than, say, Katie or the Chew or something. Now it would be funny if said ‘news interruption’ was a part of the story especially if it was a car chase covered by the Port Charles media … it’d be a clever nod to the whole OJ thing that gets blamed time and time again for being the… Read more »

I know that it would never happen…it was my way of kinda spoofing how some of us our wondering what vets are coming back, and how the writer brings the vets back then we have to wait and see them for another few episodes. Thanks 4 the reply.

APRIL FOOLS…there will be no GH 50th anniversary celebration on April 1. On that day ABC will interupt the entire episode that to announce the return of Brian Frons who will be in charge once again of daytime programing and is replacing GH with a new talk show hosted by JFP. LOL

You picked some of my favorites. But i dont feel RC is total blame for them being canned as you put it but i did hear Susan wasnt too pleased by the way her character was written and i didnt like that too much myself but RC still did a great with the rest of the show in my book. Makes me wonder if Robin wouldve rejoined PP reboot if RC remained the headwriter if he was really responsible for her departure. Also if he was responsible for Trevor being axed, it seems Trevor didnt care otherwise he wouldnt have… Read more »

Looking forwaard to GH’s 50th!! Sorry got tired real quick when GH ruined John McBain & Todd Manning characters from OLTL. GH fans may like them but I don’t like them as well as when they were on OLTL so after the nurses ball I’ll say good bye.
Looking forward tho to Rick Springfield, Frisco & Felicia and where is Demi Moore?

gh is really old for ageist hollywood standards. gh is 50 and yet it still lacks a lot of racial diversity. That’s reflective of tolerant hollywood’s thinking towards racial diversity. Majority of these soaps can’t grasp that and they are dwindling. Thank goodness for a racially diverse soap like scandal. Low rated abc soap revenge has cast yet another white leading char for a triangle w/ emily and daniel. abc’s lone daytime soap gh lacks African american and especially Asian american chars. You’d think abc would have more racial diversity on their soaps considering how scandal’s 18-49 demo is triumphing… Read more »

Kim Delaney on All My Children Primetime Reboot: “All They Have To Do Is Ask, and I’m There”

While Kim Delaney is currently appearing on General Hospital in the role of Jackie Templeton, and she just appeared in her new Lifetime movie, The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt of Justice, the actress revealed she would be up for appearing in the upcoming primetime revival in development of All My Children.

Delaney became soap-famous in the role of AMC’s Jenny Gardner from 1981-1984 before she was killed-off the show in the now iconic jet ski explosion.

Now even though Jenny died, Kim would be up for figuring out how the character could be resurrected or how she could take part in the primetime reboot of the ABC soap opera called, Pine Valley.

In an interview with Soaps.com, Kim shared on being part of the reboot: “All they have to do is ask, and I’m there.  Sure, Jenny died, but someone asked me the other day if we ever saw her body. So maybe she’s out there, somewhere… ”

Former All My Children stars and real-life duo, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are executive producers of Pine Valley along with Andrew Stearn.

So, would you like to see an alive and well Jenny Gardner, or some other role for Delaney, in the All My Children reboot? Comment below.

TONIGHT: Kim Delaney Stars in Lifetime’s ‘The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice’

Make sure to catch General Hospital and former All My Children and NYPD Blue star, Kim Delaney (Jackie, GH, Ex-Jenny, AMC) tonight on Saturday, February 20th when her highly-anticipated Lifetime movie debuts beginning at 8pm EST/7pm CST which marks the cable network’s 400th original movie.

In The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice, it tells the story of Mari Gilbert’s search for the truth behind what happened to her daughter Shannan, a sometime escort who disappeared after a ‘date’ on Long Island.

After Shannan (Katharine Isabelle, Hannibal) fails to come home, her mother Mari (Delaney) knows something is terribly wrong. Pleading to police to take her concerns seriously, she keeps pushing the police for answers. Mari’s insistence that her daughter not be overlooked eventually leads to a horror hidden on Long Island for more than a decade – 19 bodies of young women discovered buried in shallow graves along Ocean Parkway in the area of Jones Beach State Park. Though the search for the killer is still ongoing, Mari’s passionate dedication to giving her daughter and other forgotten women a voice, and the attention they deserve, has kept the case alive with hopes of a breakthrough soon. The movie not only follows a mother’s tireless search for the truth, but it also digs deep into the murders, including Shannan’s, that have gone unsolved for so long.

Delaney’s film, executive produced by Deborah Norville, is based off real life-events that transpired in the early 2010’s where the crimes were never solved.

In an interview with 98.1 WOGL Radio’s Glenn Kalina, Delaney shared: “There is hope in the film… but you also want an answer… what happened to all of these girls?  My character just was relentless trying to find her (daughter) or find answers where she was.  They found a bunch of other bodies, and what they learned was that they were all escorts… and then they learned there was a possible serial killer.”

Check out a promo for the movie below.

‘ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway’ Raises $130,565 For Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS In Four Day Streaming Event

Last week, ABC Daytime fans were thrilled to see some of the archival footage and performances from the ABC Daytime: Salutes Broadway Cares benefit concerts by those who were once in the mighty soap programming block that included: All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital.

While only GH remains, viewers still loved seeing many of their favorites perform in the streaming event, ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway, from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which featured footage from those events that ran from 2005-2011 in front of a live audience in New York City.

The 2021 online event, which kicked-off on February 11th and streamed for four days, featured new content with daytime favorites including: Susan Lucci, Cameron Mathison, Anthony Geary, Kelly Ripa and more, plus performances from the past benefits, and an original dance performance from Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on the set of GH.

John Dietrich, who directed each of the ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares concerts, wrote and directed the stream. It was presented in partnership with ABC Owned Television Stations’ websites around the country with support from Good Morning America and The View.

According to Broadway World, in total, the ABC Daytime Back on Broadway event raised $130,565. The streaming total includes a matching donation of $50,000 made by Broadway Cares supporters The Dream Alliance.  Now, when combined with the seven-year run of the annual concerts, the ABC Daytime stars have raised $2,020,565 for Broadway Cares.

As part of the event week, Michael Fairman chatted with former One Life to Live star, Catherine Hickland (Ex-Lindsay Rappaport) about her performances over the years at the event, her role of Lindsay and her on-screen feud with Nora (Hillary B. Smith), and more.  You can watch it below.

What did you think of the ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway streaming event? Did you enjoy seeing the performances? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
