Hot on the heels of the news that Chris Robinson is on his way back to General Hospital in some form as Rick Webber, so now is Stuart Damon as the deceased Alan Quartermaine!

Both Stuart and Chris were involved in one of General Hospital’s most enduring an classic quandrangles along with Leslie Charleson’s Monica, and Denise Alexander’s Lesley Webber!  Will Alexander be the next to be announced for a return?

Damon’s return was confirmed via @generalhospital Twitter page this morning when the image seen here to the right was posted on their Twitterfeed.

From what we can deduce it is clear that Stuart Damon will return on the March 29th episode which leads into the Nurses’ Ball.   How do you think GH is weaving Alan and Rick back into the story?  Let us know your thoughts!

How they going bring him back when he is dead?

ghost! just like how he came back after Jason was shot.

and when Edward died.

I don’t care how they do it…just do it. Killing Alan (and firing Stuart Damon) ranks as one of the most boneheaded decisions…and certainly doesn’t endear Jill Farren Phelps to me at all. Sure, you can blame Bob Guza but Phelps had to have OK’d it. GH has never been the same and it had to take Frons of all people, to hire 2 guys who were at OLTL forever to bring the love, laughter, adventure, AND HEART back to GH. We can never get those awful 10 years back from Phelps but I admire greatly how Frank & Ron are trying.

We love you Stuart!

Frons killed OLTL for no reason other than it was taped in NY..The least he could’ve done was give frank and Ron new jobs…

maybe the mystery ingredient in Pickle Lila is LSD which they serve at the nurses ball- and everyone ends up tripping, seeing the dearly departed dead roam around town LOL.

Perhaps Alan really isn’t dead but has been kidnapped and being held in Switzerland. He could be taking care of Robin!

That’s what I hope , He needs to be somewhere alive and well, He needs to be the head of the Quartermaine family, If Ron and Frank can bring back Aj and Duke, Our Alan could be the next one to come back home to Port Charles.

I thought Laura turned out to be Heather killd Ric Webber? Is he dead or is he alive??? anyone know or is it a mistery ?????

Wonderful Tracey could use her conscience right about now!

Wow I can ‘t. Believe this is happening I have goose bumps just thinking about Alan’s return
And how he’ll fit into the nurses ball. Maybe a masquerade nurses ball ? Creepy !

I agree!!! very creepy..LOL

Please bring him back alive! Tracey, Monica, and AJ need him now that Edward is gone. Bring Denise Alexander back as well. She is needed for the 50th too!

I second this! It was such a huge mistake for previous regimes to decimate the Quartermaines by killing Alan, Emily, AJ and Justice. I’m so grateful for the new regime since they rectified the AJ error and wish they could being back Alan alive. Could Jerry have kept Alan alive? Heck Helena could be behind Emily’s “death” even. I love the new GH and will take Stuart Damon in any form.

Like i posted previously, i hope they both come back alive. Rick everyone thought dead was a trick by the Cassidines and the alive Rick was held captive by the Cassidines til he managed to escape. Now he’s back with Monica. Alan was in a coma after being shot and his late father Edward kept it a secret. Alan is the missing ELQ shareholder. Alan finally wakes up from his coma and returns to Port Charles with the help of Ricks former wife Leslie Webber. Both Alan and Leslie return to Port Charles just in time to catch Monica in Ricks arms. That would be a great nod to the shows rich history.

P.S. if all this was true who should Alan give his ELQ shares to: his manipultive, spiteful sister Tracy or A.J.,the son who shot him?

Jim,
AJ did shoot Alan, but he didn’t die from the gun shot. I think MK is right in saying he died of a heat attack; just not the gun shot.

Alan was NOT shot, he had a Heart attack. They never actually show his death on screen.

I thought he was shot…but i guess i was wrong…only watched on and off during that time. But Edward still couldv’e kept it a secret that Alan never died, and he’s well enough now to return to P.C. Thanks 4 the reply.

ok i’m beginning to see a picture here, this is the part where we see the dead return, like stuart, and chris robinson ect. wel i’m game but still i have a list of charaters i want to see and to top it of why not have Stone their too in spirit. woulld love to see Michael Sutton back after all the nurses ball was started because of his character. and his brother Jagger needs to come back to honor his brother. then theirs other characters that i haven’t heard mention that also hope are coming back like tiffany, sean, lesly, and i hope just in general not just for the 50 anniversary that they bring back Sarah Brown and Tamara BRAUN AS SISTER OR SOMETHING THEY WOULD BE GREAT

aria the actress Sharon Wyatt who played Tiffiany has been battling some kind of bone disfiguring disease since 2011.

thats so sad, god bless her.

It would be the ultimate snub if they don’t bring in Ms. Alexander! I can’t imagine that RC and FV have shown such great reverence for history and would rob Denise Alexander her due and in the process rob Rick and Lesley fans of a reunion AGAIN!

I’m beyond excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is becoming just as Huge as AMC’s 25th when EVERYONE came back!

Absolutely thrilled! Remember when Luke told Anna nobody really dies in Port Charles? Let’s hope FV & RC found a way to bring Alan back alive!

There’s going to be 3 nurses ball one for the currently living and then one in heaven with the not so alive, like Stone, Rick, Alan, Emily, tony jones and one in hell with Claudia, faith, Anthony z ect.

Ive seen over the last week a lot of people inquiring about Denise Alexander. I know when she last appeared I believe in 2009 or so she was not in good health. Believe it or not she was born in 1939 which would make her 73 years of age. maybe her health will not allow her to return. I don’t know this as fact but just remembering that she was in tough shape during her last appearance.

I can’t speak for Denise, but I did hear an interview via RHeartNetwork back in February and she was asked if she had been contacted. She had not and it was evident she might be a bit hurt they hadn’t at that point. I also know she is appearing on a great web series right now (wearing a gray wig) called The Inn (check it out on YT) and she is fabulous and looks great! As a matter of fact, she was voted in the top 5 actresses for web series poll for last week! No, I don’t think her health is an issue and she is a year younger than Chris Robinson. She looks fab and has still got her acting chops!

Denise Alexander is appearing in a new web series with another former daytimer Crystal Chappell(?) . Micheal had that on here for discussion a short time ago. Hopefully she is okay enough to do both…at least a guest appearance.

That’s it. I’m officially staying off soap sites until after the 50th anniversary….. I’m already spoiled by knowing about too many returns! (But am glad to know that Alan will be a part of it one way or another!… and am casting my vote for an Alive Alan.. the show needs him… AJs return showed that the fans want more Qs and hospital staff.. and Alan is both!)

Great point! I’m on all these sites and I’m never surprised when I watch! Enjoy!

I hover on here, TWOP and Soaptown and have been amazed at the things that slip by (like when Alan and Robin appeared in the same week last autumn). I love reading and making commentaries but really want to enjoy these next three weeks to their fullest. 🙂

Monica was involved with Jeff Weber too… bring back Richard Dean Anderson! 😀

Richard Dean Anderson, he can Mac Guyver his way in how he wants……mmmm

Allan is really not dead. Dr David in Pine Valley saved him.

They had Alan appear as a ghost last year, and this was after Valentini and Carlivati took over. So if they didn’t bring him back from the dead then, I don’t see it happening now.

While I would love it if they could take an eraser and wipe away the awful decision that Phelps, Guza and company made in killing off the character in 2007, and bring Alan back alive, he’ll probably be appearing as a ghost to Monica and Tracy again.

But hey, Stuart Damon playing a ghost is better than no Stuart Damon at all. He was always one of my favorites. They’re really doing a wonderful job honoring the history of GH, and bringing back all of the favorites you would expect to see for a big milestone anniversary like this. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out on screen!

I love Stuart Damon and would love to see Alan back alive. But, I will settle for ghostly visits as often as I can get them. The past ghost scenes have been very moving. As a more recent viewer, I can tell that Alan was an intrinsic part of the GH canvas.

Its more anniversary gimmicks! Im so sick of Cartini and this dumb game they play where they get naive fans hopes up and then they ruin everything like theyve done with Lynne Herring and John Lindstrom as Kevin and Lucy. What an ignorant waste.
And dont get me started on the cartoon caricature they turned Heather into. Stuart Damon should have been rehired and Alan Q resurrected the week Cartini took control of GH. The ghost BS is just that BS. There was no good reason to fire Stuart. Just ageism.
I feel so sorry for all the naive fans who’s hopes will all be crushed once the anniversary is over and the majority of these vets are shuttled back to oblivion from whence they came. Its ridiculous.
Id lay odds that the majority of all these peeps are gone before summers end. Jack Wagner’s run is almost up. Robin Mattson has been written into a corner and out again. Im sure Lynne Herring and John Lindstrom are on borrowed time. It was reported that Lynne would be out in March. And I highly doubt Genie Francis and Kin Shriner will last either. Its all a big publicity stunt. Cartini are masters at manipulating the audience but they suck and creating consistent, compelling, intelligent story. SMH.
I will love seeing both Chris Robinson and Stuart back on screen, but I almost want to pass it up just not to be manipulated any more by this cheap regime.

I really feel sorry for all the desperate fans out there who are like poor starving depression era citizens standing in the soup line for a thimble of soup and a crust of bread.
I’ve tuned out GH for the majority of Cartini’s run so far. Ive watched a few scenes with Genie Francis since she came. But I havent watched a full episode of this show since 2013 began. Thank you Cartini for ruining a 4 decade tradition in my life and my family. SMH.

If GH is bringing back Rick, and Alan, they may as well bring back,Tony, and Georgie, and Emily.

If the show can bring back AJ, they certainly can figure a way to bring back Alan. Since Edward died the Quartermaines need Alan. There are so many people who miss Alan and Monica’s love/hate relationship and Alan and Tracy’s sibling rivalry. Now that Steve is leaving they need a new head of the hospital. It would just be so poetic if Alan came back in time for the Nurse’s Ball. It would make so many fans happy and the ratings would go up. So writers, bring Alan back as a real live person and not a ghost.

I want to see Alan and Robert Scorpio come back. Robert is in some dumb coma. I would love to see Chris Robinson and Denise Alexander, I cant stand the Scotty character he is always around, They keep Luke around for years why not Scorpio. Anna is coming nack.Someone doesnt like Tristan Rogers, fans have been screaming for his full-time return for years. I dont think the show can make it on all these young characters. There are so many veterans that could return but Alan Scorpio,Laura.Luke and Anna and Robin. I hope the producers of GH read these comments get tristan back and keep him.

To let Alan die was the biggest mistake they could make. I’ve always watched GH since I was a young girl and GH without Alan and Monica it is not the same anymore. It is like watching Gone with the wind without Rhett Buttler. Alan have to return and not just for short time.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
