Stuart Damon to Return for General Hospital's 50th Anniversary!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

Hot on the heels of the news that Chris Robinson is on his way back to General Hospital in some form as Rick Webber, so now is Stuart Damon as the deceased Alan Quartermaine!

Both Stuart and Chris were involved in one of General Hospital’s most enduring an classic quandrangles along with Leslie Charleson’s Monica, and Denise Alexander’s Lesley Webber!  Will Alexander be the next to be announced for a return?

Damon’s return was confirmed via @generalhospital Twitter page this morning when the image seen here to the right was posted on their Twitterfeed.

From what we can deduce it is clear that Stuart Damon will return on the March 29th episode which leads into the Nurses’ Ball.   How do you think GH is weaving Alan and Rick back into the story?  Let us know your thoughts!

I don’t care how they do it…just do it. Killing Alan (and firing Stuart Damon) ranks as one of the most boneheaded decisions…and certainly doesn’t endear Jill Farren Phelps to me at all. Sure, you can blame Bob Guza but Phelps had to have OK’d it. GH has never been the same and it had to take Frons of all people, to hire 2 guys who were at OLTL forever to bring the love, laughter, adventure, AND HEART back to GH. We can never get those awful 10 years back from Phelps but I admire greatly how Frank & Ron… Read more »

Frons killed OLTL for no reason other than it was taped in NY..The least he could’ve done was give frank and Ron new jobs…

maybe the mystery ingredient in Pickle Lila is LSD which they serve at the nurses ball- and everyone ends up tripping, seeing the dearly departed dead roam around town LOL.

Perhaps Alan really isn’t dead but has been kidnapped and being held in Switzerland. He could be taking care of Robin!

That’s what I hope , He needs to be somewhere alive and well, He needs to be the head of the Quartermaine family, If Ron and Frank can bring back Aj and Duke, Our Alan could be the next one to come back home to Port Charles.

Please bring him back alive! Tracey, Monica, and AJ need him now that Edward is gone. Bring Denise Alexander back as well. She is needed for the 50th too!

I second this! It was such a huge mistake for previous regimes to decimate the Quartermaines by killing Alan, Emily, AJ and Justice. I’m so grateful for the new regime since they rectified the AJ error and wish they could being back Alan alive. Could Jerry have kept Alan alive? Heck Helena could be behind Emily’s “death” even. I love the new GH and will take Stuart Damon in any form.

Like i posted previously, i hope they both come back alive. Rick everyone thought dead was a trick by the Cassidines and the alive Rick was held captive by the Cassidines til he managed to escape. Now he’s back with Monica. Alan was in a coma after being shot and his late father Edward kept it a secret. Alan is the missing ELQ shareholder. Alan finally wakes up from his coma and returns to Port Charles with the help of Ricks former wife Leslie Webber. Both Alan and Leslie return to Port Charles just in time to catch Monica in… Read more »

P.S. if all this was true who should Alan give his ELQ shares to: his manipultive, spiteful sister Tracy or A.J.,the son who shot him?

Jim,
AJ did shoot Alan, but he didn’t die from the gun shot. I think MK is right in saying he died of a heat attack; just not the gun shot.

Alan was NOT shot, he had a Heart attack. They never actually show his death on screen.

I thought he was shot…but i guess i was wrong…only watched on and off during that time. But Edward still couldv’e kept it a secret that Alan never died, and he’s well enough now to return to P.C. Thanks 4 the reply.

It would be the ultimate snub if they don’t bring in Ms. Alexander! I can’t imagine that RC and FV have shown such great reverence for history and would rob Denise Alexander her due and in the process rob Rick and Lesley fans of a reunion AGAIN!

Ive seen over the last week a lot of people inquiring about Denise Alexander. I know when she last appeared I believe in 2009 or so she was not in good health. Believe it or not she was born in 1939 which would make her 73 years of age. maybe her health will not allow her to return. I don’t know this as fact but just remembering that she was in tough shape during her last appearance.

I can’t speak for Denise, but I did hear an interview via RHeartNetwork back in February and she was asked if she had been contacted. She had not and it was evident she might be a bit hurt they hadn’t at that point. I also know she is appearing on a great web series right now (wearing a gray wig) called The Inn (check it out on YT) and she is fabulous and looks great! As a matter of fact, she was voted in the top 5 actresses for web series poll for last week! No, I don’t think her… Read more »

Denise Alexander is appearing in a new web series with another former daytimer Crystal Chappell(?) . Micheal had that on here for discussion a short time ago. Hopefully she is okay enough to do both…at least a guest appearance.

That’s it. I’m officially staying off soap sites until after the 50th anniversary….. I’m already spoiled by knowing about too many returns! (But am glad to know that Alan will be a part of it one way or another!… and am casting my vote for an Alive Alan.. the show needs him… AJs return showed that the fans want more Qs and hospital staff.. and Alan is both!)

They had Alan appear as a ghost last year, and this was after Valentini and Carlivati took over. So if they didn’t bring him back from the dead then, I don’t see it happening now. While I would love it if they could take an eraser and wipe away the awful decision that Phelps, Guza and company made in killing off the character in 2007, and bring Alan back alive, he’ll probably be appearing as a ghost to Monica and Tracy again. But hey, Stuart Damon playing a ghost is better than no Stuart Damon at all. He was always… Read more »

I love Stuart Damon and would love to see Alan back alive. But, I will settle for ghostly visits as often as I can get them. The past ghost scenes have been very moving. As a more recent viewer, I can tell that Alan was an intrinsic part of the GH canvas.

Its more anniversary gimmicks! Im so sick of Cartini and this dumb game they play where they get naive fans hopes up and then they ruin everything like theyve done with Lynne Herring and John Lindstrom as Kevin and Lucy. What an ignorant waste. And dont get me started on the cartoon caricature they turned Heather into. Stuart Damon should have been rehired and Alan Q resurrected the week Cartini took control of GH. The ghost BS is just that BS. There was no good reason to fire Stuart. Just ageism. I feel so sorry for all the naive fans… Read more »

I really feel sorry for all the desperate fans out there who are like poor starving depression era citizens standing in the soup line for a thimble of soup and a crust of bread.
I’ve tuned out GH for the majority of Cartini’s run so far. Ive watched a few scenes with Genie Francis since she came. But I havent watched a full episode of this show since 2013 began. Thank you Cartini for ruining a 4 decade tradition in my life and my family. SMH.

If the show can bring back AJ, they certainly can figure a way to bring back Alan. Since Edward died the Quartermaines need Alan. There are so many people who miss Alan and Monica’s love/hate relationship and Alan and Tracy’s sibling rivalry. Now that Steve is leaving they need a new head of the hospital. It would just be so poetic if Alan came back in time for the Nurse’s Ball. It would make so many fans happy and the ratings would go up. So writers, bring Alan back as a real live person and not a ghost.

I want to see Alan and Robert Scorpio come back. Robert is in some dumb coma. I would love to see Chris Robinson and Denise Alexander, I cant stand the Scotty character he is always around, They keep Luke around for years why not Scorpio. Anna is coming nack.Someone doesnt like Tristan Rogers, fans have been screaming for his full-time return for years. I dont think the show can make it on all these young characters. There are so many veterans that could return but Alan Scorpio,Laura.Luke and Anna and Robin. I hope the producers of GH read these comments… Read more »

To let Alan die was the biggest mistake they could make. I’ve always watched GH since I was a young girl and GH without Alan and Monica it is not the same anymore. It is like watching Gone with the wind without Rhett Buttler. Alan have to return and not just for short time.

GH’s Brook Kerr and Tabyana Ali Talk On: Trina’s Trial, Spencer and Rory, And Their On-Screen Mother/Daughter Relationship

Currently, General Hospital fans are awaiting the verdict in Trina’s trial and just what lengths her mother will go to in order to secure her freedom! With the story playing out on-air, Michael Farman chatted in a new virtual interview with the two women central to the story; Brook Kerr (Portia) and Tabyana Ali (Trina).

As viewers know, Trina was set-up by Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), to make it appear that she taped her best friends, Cameron (William Lipton) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) having sex, and then posted the video from her phone, so it went viral.

Photo: ABC

During the conversation for You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Tabyana and Brook weigh-in on what’s gone down at the trial including; how Spencer Cassadine came forward with an alibi for Trina, plus how Portia may put her medical career at risk if she brings Esme’s partner in crime, Oz, out of his coma to get the evidence they need to point the finger on Esme.

In addition, Tabyana and Brook share their thoughts on the men in Trina’s life: Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse), and how the #Sprina has a life of its own on social media.

Courtesy/ABC

Brook also shares dishes on Portia’s romantic relationship with Curtis (Donnell Turner), plus the recent noteworthy scenes between Portia and Stella (Vernee Watson), where GH shed light on a mother’s concern; that racial injustice could factor in to the jury’s decision in Trina’s case.

Photo: ABC

Tabyana also discusses working alongside GH co-stars, Maura West (Ava) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), and what it was like taking over the role of Trina from popular fan favorite, Sydney Mikayla.

Check out the full chat with Brook and Tabyana below.

Kin Shriner Celebrates 45-Year Milestone as General Hospital’s Scott Baldwin

What would General Hospital be without Kin Shriner, who has always played Scott Baldwin to the hilt with unique style and acting chops? Today on August 2nd, Kin marks his 45th anniversary with the ABC daytime drama series, and the series just would never be the same without his four decades plus of performances, making him an enduring fan favorite.

Shriner debuted on GH back on this date in 1977.  Scott’s love story with Laura (Genie Francis) would begin to set a new trajectory for GH. Later, when Laura married Luke (Tony Geary) in 1981, and Scott made a shocking appearance at the reception and caught the bouquet, the character turned to the dark side which started a new era of story for Scott/Laura/Luke and more.

Photo: ABC

Scott is the stepson of attorney, Lee Baldwin (the late Peter Hansen) and Dr. Gail Adamson (the late Susan Brown); although through the years they tangled over differences, the family loved and cared for one another.

Photo: ABC

In more recent years, Scott’s legal eagle courtroom antics are always a must-see for viewers, as well as any time Shriner gets to show Scott’s emotional side, such as the time he learned his son Franco (Roger Howarth) had died.

Photo: ABC

Kin’s scenes with his current on-screen love interest, Kathleen Gati (Liesl) are always a delight for GH fans, as well.

In addition to his General Hospital run, Shriner appeared as Scott in the GH spinoff; Port Charles from 1997-2000 and again in 2001.

Photo: ABC

Share your congratulations to Kin on his 45th anniversary in the comment section, and then let us know what has been your favorite Scott Baldwin scene through the years.

But first, in case you missed it, check out our interview last year with Kin on the Michael Fairman Channel below.

General Hospital’s Maura West Delivers The ‘Power Performance of the Week’

On last Thursday and Friday’s episode of General Hospital, the ABC soap opera finally moved the story forward with the reveal to Ava (Maura West) that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Esme (Avery Pohl) slept together, and within it, fans got to witness the beginning of the fallout and the reaction as played by three-time Daytime Emmy-winner and enduring fan favorite, Maura West.

As one might expect, the material in the hands of the mighty West, and the acting choices she makes are always intriguing and masterful.

In story, things start to unravel for Ava, when outside Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) courtroom trial, Esme and Ava have a confrontation.  It is there that Esme snarks at Ava, that she has the ability to destroy her world.  When Ava dares her to try, Nikolas shows up on the scene begging Esme to stop.  However, a manipulative Esme says, “Too late, I’m ending this right here, right now.” After lighting the fire, Esme walks off telling Nikolas to have a nice chit chat with his wife.

Next, Ava and Nikolas go to a private office, and Nikolas tells her that he made a huge mistake. A now suspicious Ava, asks, “What kind of mistake?” Nikolas then goes on to explain how he slept with Esme, just once, when he thought his relationship with Ava had tanked and had suffered irreparable damage.

Courtesy/ABC

What comes after was where West shined, as a sarcastic Ava quipped, “Poor you, seduced by a high school graduate.”  Ava, then launches into that she thought she married a man, but instead she married a spineless weakling, and now she is going to burn him to the ground.

Later at Wyndemere, as Esme is frantically packing her suitcase and taking with her the all-important envelope linking her to Ryan (Jon Lindstrom), Ava appears and a confrontation begins with Ava calling out Esme as a, “conniving little whore”. Esme flaps back that Ava slept with both Morgan and Sonny (Maurice Benard)! Having put two and two together, Ava says she know that Esme is responsible for the revenge sex tape of Cameron (Willian Lipton) and Joss (Eden McCoyand setting fire to her car.

Courtesy/ABC

Ava has wised up from all of Esme’s nasty statements and has come to realize that everything Esme has done including sleeping with Nikolas, feels like a targeted, planned attack on her, and she knows there is more to this story than Esme has ever let on.  When Ava spots the envelope in Esme’s suitcase, she goes to get it, but Esme grabs it from her. Then, with a steely warning, Ava tells Esme that she will be going to the courthouse now to exonerate Trina, and if she doesn’t, Ava will make sure Esme disappears and no one will ever be able to find her alive.

Now, while some viewers may be waiting for a knock-down drag-out catfight, we don’t know what will happen on Monday or Tuesday’s episode, but sometimes it’s more delicious just letting the words and its intentions drive the action, and West delivered the goods in spades in scenes with Marcus Coloma and Avery Pohl.

For all the reasons stated above, Michael Fairman TV names Maura West’s work as The Power Performance of the Week.

What did you think of Maura’s performance in the scenes where Ava finds out Nikolas slept with Esme and Ava’s confrontation later with Esme? What do you hope happens next?  Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.  But firstm check out some moments from West’s performance below.
