Marie Osmond Exits ‘The Talk’

Photo: JPI

After only one season. Marie Osmond is departing the CBS afternoon series, The Talk as its co-host.   Now Osmond will focus on other projects, according to a report from Deadline.

Marie’s departure comes ahead of the Season 11 production start which is set to happen later this month.  One of the key, but not only factors of her exit, was the recent departure of her friend and longtime EP and showrunner of The Talk, John Redmann.  The executive announced his exit a few weeks back.

On her decision, Marie shared: “One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing. Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”

In a statement CBS shared: “Marie is a consummate professional, and we thank her for sharing her personal experiences, insight, as well as incredible talents, with our audience. We will miss her humor, kindness and good nature, and wish her much success in her future endeavors.”

No word yet on who the new co-host of the talker will be, but when the ladies begin their new season, they may be one host down.  We shall see.

So, what do you think of Marie stepping away from The Talk? Comment below.

I love Marie, but it wasn’t a good fit. Some of her co-hosts appeared to be passive aggressive in their interactions with her. Not sure it was about, but it was noticeably at time with almost all of them, especially Sharon.

Sharon is the queen bed, it was obvious she didn’t like Marie! Marie was my fav, done with the show! Sharon monopolizes all conversations, and I think everyone is afraid of her! Wish she was going!

Sharon sent two of the original hosts packing–Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini.

I don’t watch this show at all, but that’s vintage Sharon…. just like she screwed up Black Sabbath’s “farewell tour” by forcing their original drummer Bill Ward out of the band.

There have long been rumors that she caused the plane crash that killed Randy Rhoads (best guitar player Ozzy ever worked with). Frankly it wouldn’t surprise me.

Momo…I remember that. Supposedly, Julie Chen played a big part in getting rid of Holly and Leah. But…I think that Sharon played AN EVEN BIGGER PART in Holly and Leah’s firings. Momo…Sharon always seemed very, very SHADY AND MANIPULATIVE to me. Yikes.

Take care.

Sharon was obviously intimidated by Marie ! Sheryl as well appeared to dislike Marie.
Marie did not need the disrespect shown by those 2 bullies.
