Well…. if they pair him up with Maxie, we know he won’t last long. Just ask the last three cops she hooked up with.

You’re definitely deserving of your “name.”

I’ll take that as a compliment. Are you enjoying my work on Days??

Loved your work on DAYS at first, but I think you have overstayed your welcome.

Poor Maxie!! Too soon to make any predictions–Nonetheless, will new cop, Rory, be the good cop or be under your spell, Satan, as the bad cop?
Methinks, he is developing some feeling for Trina….Unless, he is working for Ryan or Victor, as a spy.

Fantastic casting choice, I love when GH adds more diversity and inclusivity. I’m not sure of the name Rory, however, I approve of this casting choice. What will Chase do…? Will he finally re-join the cop squad with Dante and Nu-Jordan? Where’s Valerie???? She just vanished…. a new recast would be important, to keep the Spencer family dynamics in play.

I agree! Where is Valerie? GH needs to strengthen their police force!!

I don’t want to see less of Officer Chase…

Chase is a detective, the new guy is a uniform officer.

Story wise, it looks like they may be heading down a Frisco route with Chase – cop by day, singer by night.

Sorry Steve…i used “officer” as a generic term..but you are correct.

I noticed this new “officer” in the interview room gaurd when Trina was being held.

No need to apologize.

Rory’s soft intro is very unusual which makes the character even more intriguing.

Also, per Friday’s credits, Robert Gossett is now on contract which means the Marshall storyline will be kicking up.

Thanks Steve… lol..it’s Canadian trait…

It’ll be interesting to see what he brings to the table. Maybe another long-lost Wu relative that could spark some spice with Britt Westbourne? Or maybe awaken Mikey’s true sexuality?

Michael isn’t gay

Here we go again — more unnecessary characters brought in. We already have Chase and Dante…or are we filling up the police department to handle the upcoming crime resurgence? We can see Madame Wu pulling Brad’s strings and Sonny will have to refocus energy on his syndicate. I resist new characters when existing ones are underused. So, hopefully this young man will offer something special.

Yes, let Sonny wake up and reclaim his place…this whiny person he’s become is a . and lose the Nina connection. Selena Wu cannot take over, please let Brad get some “grit in his craw” and tell Auntie that “enough is enough”.

He has a little Asian look going. I hope he’s not a plant of Mrs. WOO

Hey why not? If Sonny can have a son in the PCPD why can’t she, right?

I spoke too soon. Looks nothing like his picture. This young man is adorable and hope he’s a good guy.You can tell he likes Trina, and she needs someone as good as she is and nothing like that spoiled, two-faced Spencer.

Oh, my gosh!! By his picture, my first thought was that he’d be an addition to the College crowd—That’s how young he looks to me. LOL—
Welcome—

Maybe Esme will use him to help her. Or maybe he is her secret brother. Or Victor hired him for no good?

It definitely can’t hurt ‍♀️ So many of these story lines are going know place. I don’t really care for the New Trina either she seems robotic to me . doesn’t have that real effect as the other Trina did .

Right

It can’t hurt. Many of the story lines are going No place. I don’t even like this new Trina she seems robotic Doesn’t have that real feel to her like the original Trina did.

It always takes a while to get used to new characters. Give her a little more time to get comfortable. I’m sure she’ll be great : )

CeeCee ( derivative of Cecelia) has been my nickname from birth!!—WOW!! I switched to “Celia” because my account was hacked. It’s weird seeing it here. I have never ever encountered it before now. I’ve seen “Cece”, “Cici” and “Cicci”, but never as “CeeCee”….Hmmmm….
And, I agree with Doris. NuTrina has not grabbed me yet. However, you’re right. Let’s wait and see.

Hi CELIA! Yes, nuTrina is competent and seems dedicated to the role. I think what’s happening here is that every so often, a performer has that special quality that just can’t be forgotten. Sydney Mikalya is one. It’s no one’s fault. I have my list of daytime performers who just can’t be replaced…Maura West, Billy Miller, Jane Elliot, Jeanne Cooper. Makes you appreciate when shows find that special talent (like Josh Swickard).

Maybe he’ll get involved with Amy. Her name came up a couple of times this week.

he was really nice to trina today i knew he was going to be important to the show.

Yes, Brenda, I thought he seemed wary of how badly Spencer was treating Trina and then…the most romantic can of soda I’ve ever seen. He won me over right away with a can of pop…not sure what that says.

Soaphound
Oh, I agree, she seemed surprised as well.

Oh Violet, I am SOOOOO mad at that tool known as Spencer Cassadine. How DARE he trot down to the station just to tell Trina that he believes that she-witch Esme is innocent. “Oh Trina, I wanted to believe you but…” Bull Puckey! The only “butt” is him! He’s a spineless jellyfish with good hair. I hope this sweet new cop is genuine. I’d love to see Spencer jealous and squirming in Esme’s evil cauldron!

Soaphoud
Tell us how you really feel, you go girl! My sentiments exactly. I’d add more if I could think of it. That girl is the worst. Thought Ava would have a coronary when she saw her sitting there. I’ve been trying to remember ever gating a character as much as this one.

I was thinking someone for Trina

I think there already is a connection between Rory and Trina. Some of the looks he’s given her are already stoking the fire…he will prove to be the one to get the “goods” on Esme and Ryan. Yes, there is a romantic thing going on with Spencer and Trina, and she is good for him, but Roy will cause Spencer to wish he’d made a better decision than staying with Esme. Perhaps he’s just lying low until he gets proof that Esme is guilty and NOT pregnant…Don’t wait too long Spencer!!!!

Answer me this;
Why does every male or female that enters GH (all) soap need to be hooked
with someone from near day one..
There are millions of men and women that are single.
Is it a sin to be single on a soap, it is not realistic, not even close.
There are a tremendous number of single people who love it.
I want single people that love their lifestyle.

SuOOO
Love your question and it’s true. The minute a new guy or gal enters the show, a lot of us and I do it too, are already trying to figure out who they might pair well with. I have only two theories to offer. One, they are helpless romantics or is the other thing that the Soaps are the only place they find love, very sad.

Agreed on the single character front. On GH, I appreciate Britt’s not being desperate to find someone new.

However, actors know soap job security comes with being part of a popular couple. Brando and Sasha, two characters who have little purpose on the canvas make a rootable couple which justifies keeping them around. While Scotty and Liesl are both popular characters, pairing the two was a brilliant move that showcases each character’s softer side.

With soap economics the way they are, we’ll likely never see another Amy Vining, on contract for nearly 20 years with maybe one relationship.

Well said, Steve. Soaps are basically fantasy, right? I guess most of us enjoy a love story that works. Same with movies; even mismatched lovers make great movies, like THE WAY WE WERE; GONE WITH THE WIND; CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD; CASABLANCA; etc.

I can’t agree more!

I wonder what he was up to today listening in on Jordan and Dante. He seems very interested in Trina’s case and her. Hope it’s in a good way.

Adam Huss Makes Another Return to General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine

Nikolas Cassadine will be back on your screens next week but now via Pentonville. That means, that actor Adam Huss is back for a visit for all-new episodes of General Hospital.

In story, Ava (Maura West) comes to visit her ex in the slammer. So, just what does Ava want now? She clearly has been working an agenda on Sonny (Maurice Benard). Is she working with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart)? What will she tell Nikiolas? stay tuned.

Meanwhile, once news of Huss’ return broke earlier on Friday via Soap Opera Digest, he also announced his return on his Instagram expressing, “For all those who’ve been asking, cat’s out of the bag;) Thank you to all my #Nikolas #GH fans for your unwavering support. I don’t take it for granted for a second! (Even when I can’t answer 😊) #generalhospital”

Huss took over the role of Nikolas back in January of 2023, after Marcus Coloma left the soap opera. Previous to that, Huss filed in for Coloma in September of 2021 and November of 2022. Fast-forward to January of 2024, Nikolas gave Ace to Laura and Kevin to raise, while he eventually turned himself into the police for kidnapping Esme and keeping her hostage while she was pregnant and Wyndemere.

The return of Huss comes on the heels of multiple reports that his on-screen son, Nicholas Chavez is not returning to the show as Spencer Cassadine, while in story Spencer is believed to have drowned int the Seine River after falling off a boat in France, when drugged by Esme.

So, looking forward to seeing Adam Huss back as Nikolas? Do you think GH will eventually have him more full-time? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny and Jason Trade Threats on Each Other

The love affair that once was mobster Sonny (Maurice Benard) and hit man Jason (Steve Burton), and having each others back, is now apparently over! On the Thursday April 25th episode of General Hospital, an increasingly paranoid Sonny is confronted by Jason.

Jason wants to talk to Sonny about a “family matter”, but Sonny says they aren’t family now because he’s working with the Feds. Sonny goes on to say how he cannot trust Carly (Laura Wright) or Jason and he knows about Jason buying back the Metro Court for Carly from Nina (Cynthia Watros).

When the conversation turns to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Dex (Evan Hofer), Jason informs Sonny that Kristina (Kate Mansi) knows Sonny ordered a hit. Jason is worried about Dex’s safety. He tells Sonny that if he does something to Dex, Kristina will figure out that he is responsible.

Courtesy/ABC

Sonny goes on to say how much he loves his kids and how he will protect them. He then tears into Jason for abandoning his sons, Danny and Jake, for two years and how he has no right to stand there to tell him what to do.

Jason warns Sonny again to leave Dex alone or he’ll personally stop him. Sonny snaps at Jason, countering, “You’ll die trying!” And at that point, Jason walks out and Sonny slams the door behind him.

What do you think about this split in the longstanding relationship of Jason and Sonny? Do you like Jason and Sonny at odds? Will Kristina be the person to ultimately figure out what is happening to Sonny, or it might it be Nina, who knows Ava (Maura West) is up to no good? Share your thoughts in the comment section, but first watch this clip from part of the Sonny/Jason scenes below.

Breaking News

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.
