The leading man of Hallmark Channel’s hit series, Chesapeake Shores will be exiting the show in its upcoming fifth season.

Passions alumi, Jesse Metcalfe (Ex-Miquel) who has starred in the multi-generational drama, has decided to leave the show in his signature role as singer-songwriter, Trace Riley.

In a statement on Metcalfe’s departure, a Hallmark Channel shared with Deadline, “A new season of Hallmark Channel’s highly popular scripted series, Chesapeake Shores, is returning this summer. Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Trace Riley, has decided to leave the show. His character’s storyline will wrap up early in Season Five.  Jesse is a valued member of the Crown Media family; we look forward to continuing to work with him on projects, including original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ movie series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries, the next installment of which premieres on May 16. In addition, we are currently in development on another movie in the series.”

According to the report, Metcalfe is currently in Canada filming his final scenes. The fifth season has a ten episode order.

I am a big fan of Jesse and am disappointed in hearing this. I wish him well.

Disappointed in an understatement; to me, he was the true star of the series. My one hope is that, maybe in his exit, it *might* ignite some kind of discussion to reboot Dallas again, because the premature ending on TNT was uncalled for. Maybe Paramount+ could develop it?

Would love to see DALLAS return with Jesse and the rest of the gang.

Love the idea but there is no one left but this new generation. As good as Jesse was playing J.R, JR. I don’t think he’d fill JR’s shoes. Bobby is off playing house with Linda Purl, they make a nice couple, so who else is there? I just don’t see it being Dallas anymore.

Loved him on the show and sad to see him leave. Does anyone know if Gregory Harrison is filming this season since he has been on GH?

Marla Gibbs Joins Days of our Lives

Nearly 24 hours, after beloved TV star Marla Gibbs, almost passed out during her induction ceremony to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, comes more news.  Now, Gibbs is set to appear on NBC’s Days of our Lives.

According to SOD, Gibbs will play the mother to Jackée Harry’s, Paulina.  Look for her first appearance in the role of Olivia Price on August 17th.

The former star of The Jeffersons, now 90-years-old, was giving her speech in Hollywood yesterday when suddenly she stopped and began to appear to faint.  Gibbs’ son helped get her into as chair and some water, so she could recover.

The hot temperatures were to blame for Gibbs’ moment, but it all ended up ok.  Her daughter, Angela, told the crowd Marla needed a moment and would continue.

Later after she resumed her speech, Marla told ABC’s George Pennacchio on the Walk of Fame honor: “I never thought it would happen, but here it is.  I just got overwhelmed for a minute. I haven’t been excited until this moment!”

Watch a segment from ABC7 on Marla’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction below.  Then let us knowl what you think of Gibbs coming to DAYS via the comment section,

All My Children

Kelly Ripa’s First Book On the Way in 2022

Former All My Children star, now co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan and a successful executive producer in her own right, Kelly Ripa, will add writer to her list of credits.

New this week is that Ripa is sharing a look at her real-life in a book, that will be released next spring in April of 2022.

According to the intel, the book entitled Live Wire will feature sharp, funny, and honest collection of real-life stories from Ripa, showing the many dimensions and crackling wit of the beloved daytime talk show host.

As soap fans know, Ripa has been married to Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo, AMC) and the two share three children together.

The loglines for the release share: “In Live Wire, Kelly shows what really makes her tick. As a professional, as a wife, as a daughter and as a mother, she brings a hard-earned wisdom and an eye for the absurdity of life to every minute of every day. It is her relatability in all of these roles that has earned her fans worldwide and millions of followers on social media. Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment) Kelly always tells it like it is. Ms. Ripa takes no prisoners.
Surprising, at times savage, a little shameless and always with humor… Live Wire shows Kelly as she really is offscreen—a very wise woman who has something to say.”

So intrigued to read Kelly’s book when it is released next year? Comment below.
