The leading man of Hallmark Channel’s hit series, Chesapeake Shores will be exiting the show in its upcoming fifth season.

Passions alumi, Jesse Metcalfe (Ex-Miquel) who has starred in the multi-generational drama, has decided to leave the show in his signature role as singer-songwriter, Trace Riley.

In a statement on Metcalfe’s departure, a Hallmark Channel shared with Deadline, “A new season of Hallmark Channel’s highly popular scripted series, Chesapeake Shores, is returning this summer. Jesse Metcalfe, who plays Trace Riley, has decided to leave the show. His character’s storyline will wrap up early in Season Five.  Jesse is a valued member of the Crown Media family; we look forward to continuing to work with him on projects, including original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ movie series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries, the next installment of which premieres on May 16. In addition, we are currently in development on another movie in the series.”

According to the report, Metcalfe is currently in Canada filming his final scenes. The fifth season has a ten episode order.

So sad to hear Jesse is out at Chesapeake Shores? How should his character Trace exit the series? Comment below.

I am a big fan of Jesse and am disappointed in hearing this. I wish him well.

Disappointed in an understatement; to me, he was the true star of the series. My one hope is that, maybe in his exit, it *might* ignite some kind of discussion to reboot Dallas again, because the premature ending on TNT was uncalled for. Maybe Paramount+ could develop it?

Would love to see DALLAS return with Jesse and the rest of the gang.

Love the idea but there is no one left but this new generation. As good as Jesse was playing J.R, JR. I don’t think he’d fill JR’s shoes. Bobby is off playing house with Linda Purl, they make a nice couple, so who else is there? I just don’t see it being Dallas anymore.

Loved him on the show and sad to see him leave. Does anyone know if Gregory Harrison is filming this season since he has been on GH?

General Hospital

Lynn Herring Celebrates 35th Anniversary of Her General Hospital Debut; and ‘We Love Lucy’

Today, April 11th marks the 35th anniversary of the debut of Lynn Herring on General Hospital as Lucy Coe.  And wow, when you look at the road this character has gone on played to the hilt by Herring, it has been one entertaining ride for GH fans along the way.

Lucy started out as a mousy librarian, if you can believe that! And of course, she eventually showed all that she was a bombshell.  She then became quite the schemer and seductress.

Along the way, Lucy was married to Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), was involved with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and other men in Port Charles.

At one point, Herring took the character of Lucy to the now defunct Port Charles where she stayed from 1997-2003,

But this one time gold-digger eventually became the champion of the GH Nurses’ Ball and helped raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS research. Now, year after year, the one thing you can always look forward to is Herring’s hilarious antics and sincerity in her star turn as the emcee of the annual fundraising event.

On Sunday, the GH tweeted posted: “Lucy Coe knows everything about everyone in Port Charles and we would be lost without her. Please help us congratulate TheLynnHerring on the 35th Anniversary of her #GH debut”.

Lynn responded sharing: “Thank you! Have loved every @GeneralHospital  moment!”

Share your congratulations to Lynn via the comment section below, and let us know your favorite Lucy moment too!

Daytime fans remember him fondly as the son of Jesse (Darnell Williams) and Angie Hubbard (Debbi Morgan), Frankie, on All My Children.  And now, actor Cornelius Smith Jr., is set to join a major limited series based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, about the the first five days following Hurricane Katrina made landfall entitled Five Days at Memorial.

Written by John Ridley and Carlton Cruse, Smith will play a doctor, (something he is very familiar with playing since Frankie Hubbard was a doctor in Pine Valley!) named Dr. Bryant King, an internist and one of the few doctors of color at the hospital, who finds himself very much in the middle of the crisis.  He will headline the show alongside Vera Farmiga and Adepero Oduye.

The series will stream on Apple TV+, and no word yet as to when it will have its debut following its filming.

Since his time on All My Children, Smith has appeared on ABC’s Scandal, and had recurring roles on God Friended MeSelf Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker and Manhunt.

Deadline broke the casting news.
