RATINGS: Days of our Lives #1 in 18-49 Demo for First Time Since 2006; Y&R Drops Below 3 Million Total Viewers for Second Week in a Row

Photo: NBC

In a week which saw all four network daytime dramas airing five original episodes, there was some noteworthy changes to the ratings picture for the week of December 14-18th.

Foremost, NBC’s Days of our Lives came in at #1 for the key female 18-49 demo – this is the first time since the week of March 20-26th, 2006 that the soap has been in that position.  DAYS also was tops in the 18-49 ratings.  In addition, for the ratings week the show gained the most total viewers adding +128.000.

Stories for the week included: Joey being freed from prison and reuniting with his parents, Steve and Kayla; while Charlie admitted to Ava that he raped Allie, and viewers learned he was Ava’s other son.

On the converse, the top-rated The Young and the Restless has been under-performing in the ratings significantly since its return to production amid Covid-19. The show is now just under 3 million total viewers for the week for the second week in a row; even though they saw a gain of +23,000 for the week.  What is also significant is that year-to-year at this time, Y&R has lost -642,000 total viewers, according to the report from SON.

Its time for Anthony Morina and Josh Griffith to go. The show is completely boring and lifeless. Nothing exciting about it and it needs a good jolt.

I totally agree and a cast shake-up!

agree,needs a change, it’s boring and stale

Agreed !!

Congrats to Days, but that show is unwatchable to me.
If Y&R wants to retain their #1 status, they need to get rid of Adam PERIOD! I usually FF his scenes and the upcoming supposed storyline of him crashing Sharon’s wedding will be cringe-worthy for sure! Can not stand Adam being played by the current actor. And he is why I don’t “love to hate” Adam any more.
Sorry to those of you who like Adam these days.

YES! Nothing against the actor, but the character behaves like a spoiled brat. And PLEASE give Victoria a life, instead channeling Meryl Streep from the Devil Wears Prada!

I Agree with you .lol Victoria does need to get a life .

Sorry to you since you don’t care about Adam. As far as I’m concerned , the only people who interest me on the show are Victor , Adam , and Faith.

OMG, what a combination. It’s pretty bad when you have to wrack your brain and still can’t figure out what characters in a show you are interested in anymore, but I’ll stick with it until it fizzles out or gets better. I think Billy still shows interest but not with Lily. I do like Chance but not Abby’s obsession to have a baby, which will probably split them up. There is only one word for Adam, pitiful! No one has any use for him, especially his family, except Victor. I do not look forward to Faith possibly becoming an alcoholic like her grandmother. It was sad and tragic enough losing Kassie, but I would stop watching if they were to kill off Faith due to driving or riding while under the influence. Let’s hope for a better coming year.

adam has got to go he ruins the show

Congratulations to Days of Our Lives. This soap, along with General Hospital have been the top two soaps of 2020. It is high time CBS look at both of their soaps, and make some major changes.

I love Days of Our Lives!

Y&R is unwatchable. bad writing of characters you don’t want to see.

Congrats to Days, it really deserves the attention! Its writing is constantly happening and gaining momentum!
…now hopefully they can invest in sets and modernizing the scenery! $$$
Young and restless on the other hand is a complete embarrassment for the show and cbs/ sony. What a travesty what its become. Lets be honest the dismal 3 mill viewers only tune in out of habit and loyalty to the actors. Their is absolutly nothing onscreen that is remotely intresting. The ‘ young and restless characters act like seniors and vice versa of the older characters. No one cares if Jack finds true love this late in life, while Faith hangs around parks and coffee shops with one friend and no love intrest which would be really a reason to act up or in termoil for someone her age. Josh dismantled the Lola/ Kyle/ Summer triangle which was gold only to watch Lola disappear as a mentor similiar to the vital character of Mariah…
I could go on and on…this show is a insomnia miracle cure all and i really wish a major soap influencer like Michael Fairman , soap opera digest or even a actor with balls like Eric Braeden( the only actor on y n r who speaks up imo) would stop kissing y n rs ass and call the writer Josh Griffith out and cbs/ sony for this shitshow! Wherex Lauralee Bell? Josh Griffith needed to go the first time around and not be brought back or ever again..# fireJoshGriffith

Anthony Morina is just to blame as JG. Hes producing a lifeless blah show. There needs to be a new EP.

I agree with your every word, Damian. As far as Summer is concerned? She was more interesting as the bad girl trying to seduce her mother’s significant other or jealously trying to throw monkey wrenches into Kyle’s relationship with Lola. This writing regime swooped in and suddenly made Summer a perfect little angel with a heart of gold and while she’s still spoiled and self-entitled, she’s now also quite BORING!

I think they hurt the young and restless when they broke up billy and Victoria and that Victoria never learned the trr to it’s what her father did to her about billy also she’s to belongs without nick not try he’s a poor actor

I think DOOL has found a potential new family dynasty. How about concentrating on the Vitali mob family ties and take the show into the future?

I have been surprised DOOL has a rape storyline that has featured a young woman blaming an innocent man for rape. It has seemed that Allie has been sketchy with her recollections of what happened after she passed out. The fans seemed to love Charlie from the beginning and making him the rapist is not a great long-term plan for a character that held a lot of promise. Now, the show will once again have to redeem a character of being a rapist (much like they did with Jack). I guess they think if Ben can be redeemed from being a serial killer, Charlie can be redeemed of being a rapist.

Cartoon characters like Vivian and Dr. Rolf take away from the reasons that I grew up loving the show. Please let Stefano rest in peace. I think there is a void of having an age-appropriate DiMera to compliment Kristen. When is the show going to bring back Peter? I hope with Sami coming back, she brings back Sydney and/or Johnny. If James Scott is not coming back as E.J., recast the role and lets see Peter versus EJ to regain control of the DiMera empire.

The show needs to either make the actress that plays Ciara an offer or recast the role. Ben in limbo is starting to get boring.

congrats Days,Y&R needs a new head writer, show is so boring

Congrats to Days; however, due to an ongoing dispute with TEGNA, (the company that owns a number of CBS and ABC stations) and AT&T Uverse and Direct TV, many ABC and CBS stations throughout the US were unable to watch their soaps. I watched GH on ABCgo.com.

Tegna also owns NBC affiliates

SHOOT and/or SHUCKS… yeah, i’m certain my city is a major affiliate. I agree w/ that this could be the reason… for the dip @CBS had been in blackout , i think for about 3 weeks. surprisingly i’ve never gone thru that… and my first thoughts – I don’t watch CBS Soaps. NEVERtheLESS… MY DAYS , oh my days to surface at #1 in key demographics… I clearly hear the disgruntle of Y&R Fan… and it’s kinda amazing to show REAL numbers, perhaps… the disparity between Y&R AND DAYS : #1. 2,993,000 – #4. 1,778,000 = 1,215,000. it’s astonishing how far Y&R has “fallen” since coming back in September. always thinking @Y&R could never falter this far down. I have to prop , again, @GH for IMPROVEMENT… every story in and around the dullard duo Sonny and Carly is GOOD. I can’t believe our good fortune… so kudos to @GH for giving so many other characters SHOW. once again, not knowing the actual #’s. @DAYS , like @GH has so much going for it… I love that this show has so many couples to root for. Cheers to Salem’ite… FUN to ride this show

I’m not surprised Y&R’s ratings have tanked. I fast forward through almost the entire show only stopping to see Theo, Lola and Mariah. I do kind of like Sharon and Rey. But Theo is gone and Lola and Mariah have been relegated to playing the role of listening and supportive friend with no story of their own. Jason Thompson is an amazing talent but the one-man Billy show is tedious and boring. Last week an entire episode was dedicated to Billy’s nightmare. I hate fiction within fiction on soap operas! Then there’s Adam on rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. The new actor is terrific but the writing afforded to Adam is dreary and redundant. Then there’s the boring couples. Phyllis and Nick? They have no chemistry and they are redundantly boring. Fast forward. Summer and Kyle? Again, boring and redundant. They’re too much alike. He contrasted beautifully with Lola and he looked at her with utter adulation washing over his face. He doesn’t seem to be that into Summer and viewers were never given a viable explanation as to how Kyle so quickly fell out of love with Lola, with whom he was deeply head over heels in love. I also do not care about Amanda and how predictable! Amanda and Devon are hooking up. Yawn. Moving on to the Abbotts; The best thing which happened to them was Theo. He actually sparked excitement into the members of the Abbott family. Theo was reminiscent of the bad boys/ anti heroes of soaps from the past. Jack, Ashley and Traci haven’t had sex in years. Battling the charming Theo was the next best thing for this sexless trio of siblings. Now they’re back to investigating their late mother’s romantic past which again, is redundantly boring and depressing. In short, it’s the writing, Stupid. The writing has been flat, aimless and joyless. Now more than ever we need good, quality escapism and Y&R’s writing team is not delivering it.

Thank you . I very much agree with you ! Lola & Kyle s overnight split was ridiculous.

First, congratulations to DAYS! Second, I will forever wonder about how these ratings are obtained/measured. I’ve never been asked what I watch and I’ve been watching soaps since I was a kid.
Second, how GH isn’t doing better in the ratings when it is firing on all cylinders almost all the time since returning is beyond me, again. Watch GH if you aren’t. It’s super-good!

agree

Anthony Morina and Josh Griffith has to go, he should have been sent out the door last summer when he let Gina T (the best actress of our generation) for Michelle S. The biggest mistake and for CBS to let him do that was CBS fault as well. Bring back Gina T and she will bring many back to the show. Get rid of Josh immediately like yesterday.

Y&R was so exciting for 5 straight years with Gina T on it and the whole cast was awesome, after letting GINA T go, the show went to shits!

Bye Bye Josh & Anthony – let’s say hello Gina T again! 2021

I watch GH and Y&R. Y&R seems to be missing the mark on chemistry between characters. It’s not the COVID distance thing, it’s IMO, bad pairings.
As much as I like Michelle Stafford, I prefer Gina Tognoni’s fire, energy, and strength in her version of Phyllis. I liked her with Billy and believed that chemistry.
I’m a huge fan of Jason Thompson, but I’m tired of the Billy woes. Billy, played by Scott, shines better as a cocky, confident guy than a weak Billy. Billy is best when he’s on the verge of a relationship he probably shouldn’t be in, but the chemistry demands it. Maybe the tables should be turned and he could find himself attracted to Summer. I miss her sassier side.
Adam has been tiresome since his return. That’s too bad as I think the actor could do more. There’s zero spark between Adam & Chelsea. Same with Sharon & Rey. I’d like to see more of Camryn Grimes. I loved her role as Hiliary’s beleaguered assistant.
Right now GH is far more compelling than Y&R. Genie Francis is knocking it out of the park! I was very sad to see William Devry go. I liked him with Alexis and will miss their relationship. We’re supposed to hate Cyrus & as much as I do, he’s been a lively fun addition. My favorites are Anna, Scorpio, Finn, Alexis, Julian, Ava, Damian, Tracy, Joslyn, and Cameron. The Michael & whatshername thing is a yawn as is Jason & Sam. I still like Franco, but he’s stuck in bad story lines lately. I hope Julie Berman returns, she’ll always be Luke’s daughter to me. (Emme Ryan is a good actress, but she was never Lulu) Bring back Brandon Barash as Johnny, I liked him with Lulu. And Morgan would be welcomed back, as would Kiki, played by Hayley Erin.
Overall Gh holds my interest far more than Y&R, but I’ll hang in there and see what happens.

Bravo Rachel! Well said. You pretty much crystallized my sentiments about both GH and Y&R for me.

Curious, GH and Days seem to be able to produce their shows with actors still interacting while on CBS it is overly obviously how they are shooting around COVID – same sets every day – people not even shaking hands… yet on Days and GH – everyone is up close! Can you explain it?

I’m astounded that Josh Griffith is still the head writer. The show is circling the drain of boring-ness. No compelling stories…or dialogue. Just NOTHING…of substance. I haven’t watched in months. Just waiting to read the announcement that Josh Griffith has been replaced.

General Hospital : I’ll say what I’ve always said about the show ; it’s too one sided in favor of Sonny and family. I fail to understand how everyone in Sonny’s family love him and the other mob family members hate their family ; however , love Sonny. It still puzzles me as to how Michael calls the man who killed his father , dad without a second thought. Plus, how Sam hates Julian , yet , loves Jason and Sonny . I don’t have to be reminded that Julian tried to kill her mother ; however , Sonny and Jason have killed someone’s family member/s and not a soul seems to care or pretend to care. Don’t make one mob family strong and the others weak ; that’s not a reality that occurs in life.
Laura , the Mayor, who is openly friendly with Sonny is not receiving fallout from the citizens; that’s amazing . We all know that there are leaders who have connections with the Underworld ; however, it’s kept as clandestine as possible .
My husband says stop watching ; however , I’m trying to keep them on television since there are only four of them left.

Young and Restless: My favorite characters are Victor, Faith , and Adam . What bothers me about this show is that people who don’t know Adam end up not liking him after only having two or three words with him. I stopped making hasty decisions about people long before old age made its debut ;these writers haven’t.
Another thing , the show has removed the one friend who Adam had (Chance) and lumped him into the hate Adam group which I knew would eventually happen.

I love Days of Our Lives , and Bold and the Beautiful is so , so.

That’s what happens when you kill off half of the best super couple (Justin & Adrienne)

Good for Days. It is the best soap on TV. I don’t know why their ratings aren’t higher.

Y&R is weak,no longer impressive..
I believe the way it gets high viewers/ratings all these year is by a high tech VPN or something in-kind- a maneuver behind the curtain to pull in those numbers.
During the past decades there have been many soaps much better than Y&R.
It is not probable for Y&R to never once, not once fall behind another soap.
Someone should look into that, yes they should.

Days is so bad right now with all the plot driven out of character writing. The only thing that saves it for me is the actors involved in this rape mess. I do no understand how that show gained over 100K from week to week and others had such small numbers. There has been no trend indication. I understand it was a pretty significant anniversary week so maybe fans tuned into see if something special was happening. Leave dead people such as obsessive Ava and others dead. It’s ridiculous.

Not surprised B&B is doing so badly. The writing is atrocious, especially for the Steffy and Hope characters. I’d be willing to put money on that same writing is why women from the 18-49 category have switched off. We’ve seen some awesome declarations from both Steffy and Hope in the past about how they were done with the Toxic Liam, and then they backtrack. Who wants to see that?!

Adam is just not a good actor ! He should’ve stuck to Modelling. He just can’t do it and I’m FF all his scenes ! He sounds like he’s yelling his lines when talking to his paralyzed wife . ‍♀️

This week, DAYS head scribe, Ron Carlivati, confirmed that, and told Michael Fairman TV on the decision of the scripts the team submitted: “I like to have some humor, but it was also the funeral, and then there was Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) giving birth, and then Vivian’s (Louise Sorel) crashing the reading of the will.”

Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves Talk Return to DAYS for Doug’s Funeral, Susan Seaforth Hayes, and Their Enduring Friendship

Last week, Days of our Lives celebrated the taping of their 15,000th episode which is tentatively scheduled to air on December 3rd. The story will feature emotional and heart-tugging scenes of Doug Williams funeral and honor his portrayer, the beloved Bill Hayes, who passed away on January 12th at the age of 98.

While the actors, producers, and crew took a lunch time break to pose for some pictures and speak with the press, they knew they would have to get back to taping the funeral, which was going to make it a tough day, but also cathartic for all who loved Bill Hayes.

Several returns have thus far been announced including; Melissa Reeves reprising her signature role of Jennifer Horton (a part she first played in 1985), and Matthew Ashford as Jack Deveraux. Reeves had last appeared on the show back in 2021, and she was replaced by Emmy-winner Cady McClain in her absence when Jennifer was in storylines. In real-life, Melissa had moved full-time to Tennessee along with her husband, Scott Reeves (ex-DAYS, GH, Y&R). Now, and as previously reported, Reeves will first appear back on DAYS for the Thanksgiving episodes with the Hortons.

Photo: JPI

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Matt and Melissa during the 15,000th episode celebration to get their take on: being back for these special episodes, how it has been working with and watching Susan Seaforth Hayes portray Julie’s grief over losing Doug, and how they have supported each other through the years. Check out what they shared below.

Melissa, you are back on the set of Days of our Lives for this very emotional and special moment in the series history. How does it feel?

MELISSA: Oh, my goodness. I am honored. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but to be here for Bill. He was like my real-life dance partner. He taught me how to ballroom dance. And to be here for Susan, of course, who’s just been our sweet hero this whole week. We’re just following her lead. She’s just been this incredibly strong example for us in the midst of this trial and season of her life. She is like just lifting us all up with her. It’s been incredible.

I was at Bill Hayes memorial service which was truly incredible and I know at the time you were in Tennessee. It was moving and celebratory of his life, all at the same time.

MELISSA: That’s all I have heard. I have to watch it on You Tube. They said it was just a real celebration of his life and I love that.

Photo: JPI

This must be difficult for Susan Seaforth Hayes depicting the death of Doug, when she is still grieving the loss of her beloved husband. (Susan pictured above with the returning Stephen Schnetzer who plays her on-screen brother, Steve Olson).

MELISSA: I’m sure Susan has those moments at home by herself, but she’s so good at being a leader and leading all of us. We’re following her, you know, and she’s like, “This is how I want to feel today.” And we’re just going along with her, you know? It’s so sweet.

Photo: JPI

How is it to see Matt Ashford again live and in-person?

MELISSA: You know, Matt and I can go years without talking, or seeing each other, and then the minute we see each other we’re chatting away.

MATT: Melissa was out on set doing a scene yesterday on the phone talking to a stage manager; as she was telling some really tough news on the phone. I’m like crying in the background, literally, I’m off-stage crying.

MELISSA: And then we get like back into normal life, and we’re like, okay, “What’s happening? What’s happening with this … or what’s happening with that?”

I had read, Melissa, that you were in touch with Matt about if there night be a possibility for you to reprise your role as Jennifer for these special episodes?

MELISSA: Yes. Well, Matt was like, “Hey! Would you want to come back? “And I was like, “Matt, you know, I would always come back. ”

MATT:  Every time I come here to Days of our Lives, they ask, “Where’s Missy? How’s Missy?” Everybody backstage says, “I miss her.” All of the crew is asking about her and saying, “It would be nice to see Missy. Nothing wrong with you Matt, but …”  They said, “Where is she?” I said, “She wants to come!”

Photo: JPI

There are some beautiful photos of Missy and Bill and Susan thorough the years that I found. It just reminded me of just the deep and entrenched history we all have had with the show, personally and professionally.

MATT: Missy is roughly the age where Francis Reid (ex-Alice Horton) was when she started the show, which is just crazy.

Photo: JPI

I’ve always said Missy was going to be the next generation Alice. Do you feel that Jennifer is the heir apparent matriarch of the Horton family?

MELISSA: Yes. I mean, this has been greatest blessing of my life, and that would be great. I told Ken Corday (executive producer, Days of our Lives) when I was 17 that this show would be my life. Ken always told me, “This is your home,” and I’ve always felt like that.

How have gotten through the scenes watching Susan Seaforth Hayes as Julie go through the loss of Doug?

MATT: Susan is bringing her best performance life for her and Bill. I mean, she’s a showbiz baby. She always has been one hundred percent, and she’s doing it for him, and this is who they’ve always been. So, you’re seeing this amazing performance colored by her life. She has her private life as Susan, but she has enough plugged into Julie that she’s done amazing work. The director, producers and writers are giving her room to live in these moments and it’s quite wonderful.

Photo: JPI

Have you already broken down in tears during the taping?

MELISSA: Yesterday, but today’s taping of the actual funeral I think they want us to try and be just more celebratory.

MATT: I mean, it is a beautiful long life for Bill Hayes and his character of Doug Williams, and so it will be about that. Then, you get a bunch of us together in the church pews, and there’s going to be hijinks.

MELISSA: We all have been through the waves of grief. You have that awful cry and then all of a sudden you feel okay.  There are those family situations we are portraying where you’re like, “What do we do? What do we do now? You know, no one knows what to do. But, it’s so sweet. I’m looking forward to seeing how the scenes all turn out.

So, are you glad that Matt and Melissa are back for the 15K episode and Doug’s funeral? From what we can tell, it’s going to be quite an emotional journey for Days of our Lives fans, and especially the performance of Susan Seaforth Hayes,

Ron Carlivati Talks on Decision to Make Days of our Lives 15000th Episode About Doug’s Funeral, and Previews Chances for WGA Award

This week, Days of our Lives celebrated the taping of their 15,000th episode. In of it itself, that is an incredible accomplishment for the long-running soap opera currently streaming on Peacock.

However, this on set gathering was a bit different. Though the show is celebrating their achievement, they are also in the middle of taping scenes surrounding the death and the funeral of Doug Williams, played by the late Bill Hayes, who passed away on January 12th of this year at the age of 98.

As previously revealed many longtime favorites are back to honor Bill and the character of Doug including: Gloria Loring (Liz), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), Matthew Ashford (Jack), Maree Cheatham (Marie), Victoria Konefal (Ciara) and Stephen Schnetzer (Steve) to name but a few.

Photo: JPI

Michael Fairman TV was in attendance and spoke with Days of our Lives head writer, Ron Carlivati to gain some insight into how the 15,000 episode was crafted and the decision to honor the character of Doug Williams and Bill Hayes as its epicenter. In addition, Ron weighed-in on this Sunday’s April 14th WGA (Writers Guild of America) Awards, where he and his writing team are facing off with General Hospital for the daytime drama prize. Here’s what Ron shared below.

Was this your idea to make the 15,000th episode centered around Doug’s funeral and passing?

RON: It was. When you’re looking at it, and laying out the calendar for the whole year and you see 15,000 is coming up, we’re like, “What are we going to do?” And then, we got the news that Bill had passed away and something kind of clicked. I was like, “We should honor Doug on that show.” So then, we started to kind of build around that … when does he pass away? How does he pass away? Who could come back? You know, it’s a lot.  I’m very pleased with the returns that we got as there’s so much that you could do. We wanted everybody we could get. So, we put together a wish list and Janet Drucker (co-executive producer, Days of our Lives) made it happen.

Photo: JPI

You have Melissa Reeves back as Jennifer, when the role was last played by Cady McClain. What has it meant to have Missy back for these shows?

RON: It was so nice to see Missy Reeves. I think Cady has done such a good job, but on the 15,000th episode to see Missy as Jennifer, it’s a big deal. So having her was great, and overall, the milestone was a big undertaking, because you want to live up to it. You want the 15,000th episode to be good. Now, it has a lot of real emotion that you’re playing. because for the cast and the crew they’re honoring Bill Hayes just as much as we’re honoring Doug Williams.

Photo: JPI

Was it hard for you and the team to write this episode?

RON: Yes. I’ll tell you why it was hard to write.  When I wrote, for example, Asa’s (Phillip Carey) death on One Life to Live or Victor’s (John Aniston) on DAYS, Asa is a different type of character. Like, you could have characters going, “Oh! I’m glad he is dead.” You could have different points of view, but with Doug, you’re not having that. Every person loves this man. No one had a bad relationship with him. So, you’re challenge as a writer is how do you make it that not everybody’s saying the same thing and doing the same thing. And so, we tried to find ways to make the episode about all the familial relationships and yet, how do you make it about Doug and yet broaden the scope.

Photo: JPI

I had spoken to Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), a week after Bill’s memorial, for an interview. She said that she felt very fortunate that you did include her on discussions of how you would tackle Doug’s passing. How did that conversation go?

RON: First, I attended Bill’s funeral, which was incredible. I said to so many people it was an emotional service, but it was hard to be sad at this. The guy had an incredible life and it was an incredible celebration. And so, you’re sitting there watching this knowing that you now have to write something similar. And how do you write something that lives up to what you just witnessed? I wanted to talk to Susan to get her thoughts about, you know, how much do you want this to be about keeping Bill separate from Doug. How comfortable are you sharing your grief. She was incredible to talk to. It was a great chat.

You’re in the middle of taping these major scenes for the 15,000 episode to air in December. How do you think it’s going? Have you seen any of the scenes?

RON:  I haven’t seeing anything. I mean, we were still making changes to the script up till this morning!

The Writers Guild Awards are this Sunday, April 14th and once again this year there are two daytime drama nominees, General Hospital and Days of our Lives. How are you feeling about your chances this year?

RON: It is often just GH and us in the category. I’ve won three years in a row, so I’m kind of feeling like it’s their turn.

What episodes did you submit for contention? If I recall, they had to do with Victor’s memorial.

RON: The episodes we submitted were centered around Victor’s funeral. I think one has story with Vivian (Louise Sorel). We had some fun stuff, we had some emotional stuff at Victor’s death, and I am pretty sure that our submission was three episodes right around that time.

Did you make the decision to go with those episodes because there was a mix of humor and drama?

RON: I like to have some humor, but it was also the funeral, then there’s Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) giving birth, and then Vivian’s crashing the reading of the will. So, we had a lot of fun and it’s hard sometimes to pick three that tell a story, as opposed to submitting for the Daytime Emmys, where the writing team only submits two shows. So, we shall see how it goes on Sunday.
