For the ratings week of March 24th through March 28th, it was ABC’s General Hospital that scored big!  The show added +417,000 total viewers due in part to the big reveal at Nikolas and Britt’s engagement party that Lulu is indeed Ben’s biological mother!

There was also the pick-up from the prior Friday cliffhanger of Luke’s association with Julian Jerome, and Carly finding out from AJ that Sonny was the one who shot him that added to exciting moments for viewers.

All of that and more brought General Hospital’s total viewers to over 3 million once again, with the tally of 3,058,000 for the ratings week!  GH was the only network soap to even gain viewers for the ratings period.

In addition, GH added +185,000 viewers in the important women 18-49 demo, putting it in second place behind Y&R.  GH though was #1 in women 18-34.  GH also had the strongest increase in ratings share for total viewers, and finally added the most viewers +205,000 for the week in the women 25-54 demo.

Elsewhere, while The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful remained as per usual in the #1 and #2 slots for total viewers, each of the CBS soaps lost viewers.  NBC’s Days of our Lives also lost some viewers for the week, but not as down as Y&R and B&B.  View the entire ratings picture via SON here.

What do you think of General Hospital’s ratings for the week?  Were you tuning-in to watch the engagement party gone awry at Wyndemere?  What is working on your favorite soaps? What isn’t? Be our Soap Opera Programming Executive Armchair Quarterback and share your thoughts below!

GH is on fire!!! Yes, the critics are out there, but the ratings prove good story telling will bring in viewers.

LOL! On fire? The ratings were terrible the previous two weeks. The week of 3/10, 2.6 million viewers. Yes all soaps took a bit of a hit that week, but the following week, 3/17, GH was till stuck a 2.6 million viewers. Y&R and B&B saw increases that week of 300,000 and 350,000 viewers.

Why were GH numbers so bad? Not because of great story telling. Feb sweeps were horrible with all that Franco stuff and the first week of March was the awful Robin exit story. The following two weeks, over 400,000 viewers bailed.

Why are they up the week of 3/24? Because of the baby reveal. A year long story that finally came to a climax. And the number. 3,058,000 only has them back to the 3 million or so average that they lost. Y&R and B&B didn’t increase this week? So what, they were both up significantly last week when GH was not and the have 4.8 million and 3.7 million viewers on average. A much higher consistent fan base.

As a longtime CBS soap fan, I find Y&R nearly unwatchable. Yes, the sets look great but I FF through many of the scenes due to lack of interest. I do not however find myself FF through GH and have only recently begun to watch. Kudos to GH! Y&R will b around as TPTB tend to love soap killer JFP!

ALL I KNOW AS A REALLY BIG FAN OF G’H’ THAT DR. O’AND HER DAUGHTER OUGHT TO GET CAUGHT SHOT AND KILLED OFF FOR GOOD; AS FOR THE SILAS WIFE AND THE DRUGGIST GETTING KILLED[NATHAN FINDS OUT IT’S HIS OWN MOTHER WILL HE TURN HER IN] (HOPE SO) THAT’S SIMPLE BRING BACK JASON QUARTERMAINE-MORGAN BACK THAT WILL GET MORE FANS ALL SO [AJ] WRITTEN IN BLOOD BY CONNIE/KATE MEANS AVA JAROME INSTEAD OF A.J. QUARTERMAINE. THAT WILL HELP OUT

It was not just about the baby reveal. Lots of LIz & Nik fans tuned in to see their favorite couple go at it. There are thousands of LIz fans out there who have tuned in for the past two weeks. I am one of them and on boards with many, many others. The past two weeks had more story involving the characters I either love or can at least tolerate, and lots less of the others. I do NOT miss Dr. O, Britt, Silas, Madeline, Sabrina and watch more when they are not on.

I think the show rocks – since Frank and Ron took over it has vastly improved in pacing, writing, staging, acting (it really makes a difference when the actors LIKE what they are saying) – the old writers did nothing but say the same thing, over and over – not these days – we even have more than one cliffhanger in a week! Of course the ratings are up – the show is vastly superior to the rest and better than it has been in years and years. I honestly don’t know why the whiners keep watching – I guess to keep whining.

I won’t stop watching because of one imbecilic protagonist, such as Sonny. This is a discussion…it is the point, is it not? We, the viewers, have a voice, and if you don’t like what you read, do not read it. But do not call us whiners, we are opining, which is exactly what we are supposed to do. The actors like what they’re saying? C’mon, now…Maurice DOESN’T KNOW what he is saying, never mind liking saying it. He just rambles and stumbles along.
By the by, this is not whining…stating a fact…Sonny has run his course…last mile. ….it is very disappointing when evil ( and Sonny is the devil incarnate) gets away with crimes against humanity…who’s fault is that? The writers’, of course…there is never any atonement for these baddies…..it sends a negative message. There are those of us who dedicate our lives healing people….then along comes Sonny , the stooge, being prepped, propped and primped by TPTB.

HA! You have got to be kidding! Improved in pacing, writing and staging? The pacing is horrid. Characters and story lines are on non stop then suddenly stop. The staging? There are no sets. No one has a home. Everyone lives in the same room at the MetroCourt. The writing has no depth, no character development, tons of plotholes and characters are dumbed down to advance silly plots. The acting has improved? Yes Nathan is riveting. You just have to be kidding.
Great that ABC can get people to write positive comments but try not to tip your hand so blatantly.

I also like that in almost every episode there’s a cliffhanger and sometimes even more than one.Plus i’ve read in magazines that some actors can’t wait to get their next script because they want to see what happens too. That could be a good thing because if the actors are interested as much as the fans are that could show up in their work.Plus i like how the stories are connecting to each other even in small ways.

I have been watching the show for years I love the show . But i think that the old LuLu was the best this one cant act worth crap . No wonder why they let her go on YR.

I have to disagree with the improvements. I feel like I am back in Guza land, the mob and mob families, villains, and paternity stories are all we get, oh except for the never ending love triangles that have very little payoff in the end. Most characters on this show have been dumbed down. Case in point: today Tracy really believes that Kiki would hit on Luke. Stories are simplistic, often cartoonish, and predictable. He contradicts himself all the time. Case in point: A few months ago Silas was telling Sam how terrible a wife Nina was. Then last week, he was acting like Nina was the love of his life. Does RC think we are stupid and don’t remember what just played out on our screen a few weeks ago? As for pacing, IMO, stories either drag on forever, or RC gets in the middle of a story and then gets bored and just drops it. Why do I keep watching? I started watching when I was 10, 50 years ago. I have seen writers come & go, and some were brilliant and some were terrible. I truly hope this writer will go soon. If he is so brilliant, maybe some prime time show will scoop him up. Then maybe we can hire someone who will restore the legacy familes, write truly great stories for the veterans, and I don’t mean using them as props. Name me one character who was on GH before RC came who is leading a story arc that is not primarily about one of his newly created characters. There are some good moments and some well written lines, but I miss the GH I knew and loved. I know how great this show can be and this isn’t even close.

As a GH fan for years, I must say that the new writers only have 1 mistake under their belt. the losing of Jason Morgan. the stories are better, but they still linger a bit longer than we would hope. Morgan sleeping with his mother in law was brilliant. especially on his wedding night. that piece of information was aired on all the evening talk shows. Robin was very much a fool to come back to claim her family during the wedding. but it made great ratings. Patrick chose her and she left them 3 weeks later. for hunkcicle of all places. good sense of humour.

That was a great cliffhanger at the end of Friday’s episode!

Of course, no mention of the loss of 375+ K loss the week before. . .

What? CBS tweeted Y&R had 5.52 million viewers and was up 11% from last year.

That was their average for the entire QUARTER. Jan-Mar

Very impressive.

But so is GH’s increase for last week.

I like the Silas mystery…knew Madeline up to no good…believe she’s Ninas stepmommy and after Ninas money…still believe Silas’s lookalike brother caused Ninas coma…believe Nina is really alive…believe Nathan is Victor Cassidines son…still think Luke is Jerry if doing a mask storyline…could be Bill, Victor C. or Valetin played by Vincent Izzary or the back from the dead Balkin(lame, i know, i know,…lol)…dislike the near weekly – violence Carlos shot, Max shot, Julian beaten, Heather stabbed, Franco shot and day player killed, Ava shoots Connie(repeat flashback) Carlos attempts to shoot A.J., A.J. attempts to strangle Ava, Sonny shoots A.J., Ava attempts to kill A.J.,(guess she stole the security camera tapes from the hospital) A.J. dies,(not much left for Monica except for boring Micheal…she doesnt even get to babysit Danny…hope Nina is alive and turns out to be Monicas daughter…it can be written. Jason could return…maybe. Next theyll burn down the Q mansion!) Madeline attempts to do whatever to Nakumora but its decoy Sam because Nakumora already murdered!!! Other than that…wait a minute…i like K.G. as Dr. Mutterstein but Ronperroom needs to stop writting her doing all these criminal acts that go unpunished(we get enough of that with Sonny)…She holds Liz hostage and points a gun at Nik and the next day she’ll probably be back at the hospital still Chief Of Staff…and Liz gets fired!!! Dr.O will sing(in a spoof) at the Nurses Ball,’I Fought The Law and I Still Won!’ while dancing around Anna and Dante who both are wearing a dunce hat!!!

Glad Britt doing the right thing by telling Dante and Lulu that they can find their son Ben at Liz’s where her mutter is holding up!!!

i think if I remember correctly that Connie, in an aside to herself, admitted she killed Nina. I think she said that…can’t remember but I’m almost sure. Does anyone else out here remember her saying that??

oops! I meant Ava, in an aside to herself admitted she killed Nina…

It’d be cool if they made Madeline and Monica sisters, and Nina turns out to be Monica’s daughter, stolen at birth by Madeline and claimed to be hers. Say that she and Madeline were pregnant at the same time, but Madeline’s baby was stillborn and Monica’s child was given to her.

I was very disappointed they killed off A.J. They should have had him recover and sent off to rehab or something, not kill him – again! Just another Q (and wasted opportunity) gone!

OMG…lol…my brain is reeling from all these scenarios.

LOL! Too funny….but true!

Totally agree that they are entering the point of no return with Dr. O and her Romperroom persona – they destroyed Heather from a once manipulative yet compelling schemer to a now one-note, campy cartoon zombie; I guess Dr. O will be next. The idea of her getting away with kidnapping, holding one of her employees hostage at gunpoint, then singing the opening song at the nurses’ ball is just so bad. It just seems as though the writers can’t go far enough in making fun of the show.

As to the ratings, they seem to indicate a segment of the viewership who are only willing to watch when classic GH and the characters they love and know are on the air in engaging stories… the ratings for 3/31 to 4/4 should be interesting – they probably have remained high for AJ’s death and the anniversary but many people were really p’o’ed about senselessly killing off AJ and then using the 51st to have Sonny and Carly talk about why they hated him. After that I expect the ratings to fall back again because there is no reason to care at all about Nina’s death, a character we have never met much less seen.

Nina is alive, all the signs seem t point in that direction. Then again, maybe not…the writers want us to believe that. I think that Maddie hated the idea of her daughter with Silas that she came up with this plan…she probably shot her up with a sedative/narcotic to subdue Nina and make her appear as if she slipped into a coma….easy trick! Additionally, she either wants Nina’s money for herself or she truly believes Silas only cares for the money. If she loves her daughter, the only way Maddie could protect her would be to keep her hidden …better yet, announce her death. I cannot fully read her as yet…what her true motives are to compel her to go to these lengths. We shall see.
My only request, PTB, if Nina is to be introduced to us, please let it be Michelle Stafford.!!!!

Where were Liz’s children while she was being held hostage?

The kids were with their Grandma Audrey. That was mentioned in the first hostage scene.

BRAVO!! CONGRATS!
To ”all” at GH for bringing me daytime excitement — I enjoy GH!!
General Hospital is the #1 soap for entertainment and intrigue!!

Y&R is not doing well, not at all..
The same stories have been dragging on for an year!!
Y&R it is empty ….. empty of all that once made it a great soap..

Right now, GH is the only soap that has me wanting my daily fix & just wanting more! I was an avid Y&R viewer but haven’t been interested these past few months. Although I wasn’t happy with the departure of Sean Kanan, I will keep watching GH!

SO GLAD I STOPPED WATCHING YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL….NO MORE OF THE SAME OLD TIRED STORY LINES……BRING BACK MICHAEL MUHNEY AND I WILL RETURN TO

Glad to see the ratings showing what’s really happening. Great story lines, great acting, lots of action and excitement.

My only peeve as far as acting goes is Ryan Paevey as Nathan. Good lord, I don’t know where they found him but he is a terrible actor and I can’t believe they’d pair a powerhouse like Donna Mills with him.

LOL. Can’t argue with you there. Some new additions get off to a rocky start, but find their nitch and settle in nicely. One example is Chad Duell. He was tough to watch at first, but after a short time he caught on and took off.
Hopefully Ryan will so the same. If not, then maybe Dante needs another partner.

“Nathan” will come into his own, as it were. He typifies any young actor etc. He will graduate from tyro to seasoned warrior. One cannot expect him to be perfect. (albeit, just by looking at him, he is perfection—-makes me glad I’m female) …..hey, no snickering out there….it is fact….he is gorgeous. If you pay attention to his facial expressions, I think he genuinely delivers. Just sayin’….

i love gh i have been watching it for the last27 yrs love the storyline cant wait for this week

love the baby ben storyline, best part of it is that finally Rebecca/Liz is in the forefront, also loving the sonny/ava cover up, sorry to see a.j go, but its done so moving foward i would love to see finola hughes more front and center, and i wish Anna was played as more of a formidable threat to sonny and the jeromes. i hate that (and no insult intended ) RC and FV don’t turn Anna into the next Mac who under phelps and guza was never feared by the sonny and company, and never solved a crime, because if thats the case, Anna should quit the police force and go back to being a spy or a fence for stolen art or something with more juice for the fab finola to play.

Keep up the good work GH. I also stopped watching the Young and the Boring!!

You forgot one of the best parts of that week. The day they scored their highest rating was Tuesday which was the day that Julian and Alexis had HOT, passionate sex! That was must-see TV!

I agree. I love these two as a couple…I thought I was the only one who thought so….YES,..they are HOT.

everyone loves Julian and alexis together, but after the way she treated Sean because he became the enforcer.

This has been extremely exciting and the Luke reveal as Julian’s partner in crime …WOW …I’m still shocked!

If this is physically Luke, then he is not in his right mind. …Luke in the vestments of Faizon?, Gerry ?, a Cassadine?…or maybe, just maybe, GH borrowed Stefano DiMera from DOOL.

Finola Hughes will be leaving gh, her contract expires in the summer. Big rumor nina clay will be played by Michelle Stafford ex Phyllis y&R.

Where was it reported that Finola will be leaving?Yeah her contract might expire in the Summer but that doesn’t mean she’ll be leaving. She could sign a new contract

Michele Stafford has been adament that this rumor will not come to fruition.

I watched to see Carly and Sonny together! Carly and Sonny belong together. I also enjoyed Liz’s being held hostage. It is so nice to see these three on the screen everyday.

These numbers just prove that its only a small group on the internet unhappy with the show. THe ratings show that the majority are enjoying it. Awesome job GH, glad to see the ratings reflect how great the show is right now.

Amen to that. Unfortunately both Twitter and Facebook have moved far from their original intent and have both become places to bully and complain. I learned a long time ago, if you want to comment to TPTB and have any credibility at all…write a letter.

What did the ratings show when they lost those 400,000 viewers in the previous two weeks?

What it showed was that htey were up 300,000 from one year ago when all the vets were returnign that are supposedly such big ratings draws. And B&B is just above GH as they bleed through all the viewers they gain. As for ratings go up and down if you look at those CBS shows they have had the same bumpy road after being up a couple weeks they are now down losing the viewers they gained. So don’t come here and praise them. Bottom line is GH continues to see rises and the haters just can’t deal with it

Not in the weeks I was referring to… whatever. Drink that koolaid!

Yes the week of March 10 which was a bad week for all the soaps GH did lose 372,000 from the previous week but went up 62,000 from the same last year. Then the week of the 17th GH went up 41,000 viewers from the week before and 190,000 from last year. Also the week of the 3rd GH was up 95,000 from the previous week and 264,000 viewers from the same time last week.So counting the week of the 24th if i do my math right that is 3 out of 4 weeks that GH gained viewers and 4 out 4 weeks that they gained viewers from the same last year. Also as it was reported GH was the only soap that went up the week of the 24th and they gained more viewers than the other 3 soaps lost combined.

Waiting for Jason Morgan comes back…

Wating for A Sam Pregancey or A Siam wedding

Waiting for Daniel to get big

But Congrats to GH

And for Sam to be close to her father

but the show has been good!!!

It’s a catch-22 for me. As I’ve said in other posts…I’m a big fan/supporter of GH. It’s the only soap I watch. And I do so want it to stay on the air. So I’ll continue to watch…(unless I’m just bored outta my mind and literally have no desire to anymore.)…but! The catch-22 is there’s no way to get the message to Ron & Co. if you’re dissatisfied ala AJ/Sean Kanan as just one example. Because for all the gripes, many of us keep watching so he has no reason to pay attention to those of us who don’t like where some of the stories/characters are going. To stop watching would be detrimental to the future of soaps…so, yea for the great ratings…nay to the great ratings! Mixed bag for me!

YR is not doing poorly. Even losing viewers this week they still have almost double the audience of GH. Looking at the dailies they went over 5 million at least one day this week. That would put its audience somewhere near the top 30 primetime programs for this week. GH wishes it could get those numbers.

I’m sure GH knows they will never overtake Y&R for the first place or get 5 million viewers a week but they are only about 600,000 viewers from taking 2nd place from B&B.So 2nd place might be GH’s target right now.

That will NEVER happen with RC as head writer. Never.

Yeah, while good numbers…I don’t see GH picking up enough to overtake BB anytime soon.

Great Job GH.. .Great writing and fast stories.. lots of stuff going on that is interesting and keeps me and many watching… by FAR the BEST day time soap on tv!!

I don’t get it. The less I’m interested, the better it does! Go figure.

Bravo to GH! I love you guys! I watch GH and Days of our Lives. Days is dragging, they used to be half as good as GH! At least GH keeps up the spy stories and I was shocked at Madeline on Friday. The comment before me says she is stepmother, not mother. I was wondering how Madeline knew exact room number of hotel. I know there were things in the newspaper to find out, unless she was following Nathan. I can’t connect the dots on that one!
Here is to continued success GH and love you all!

Happy for GH!!! However since I think GH is #1 and the best soap on any medium or any network… it’s only fitting that it had great numbers!!! I want it to have more… this is great stuff with an incredible cast… come on!!! Plus we continue to get great past cast and great talent like Donna Mills and many others coming in and playing with our favorite cast!!! I hope the numbers keep going up and it can happen with great buzz like Michael stirs… great cast and great guest cast… and finally great stories!!!

Congratulations to everyone at GH!!!

GH is so good right now! Maura West and Maurice Bernard continue to shine, AJ was given a great send off (just the sight of Lila’s wig had me in tears!) and Donna Mills has been an amazing addition to the cast! Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Tell those those that poll. What about the 60’s and above. We have been looking at GH from the first show. We still look at the ads and still shop. Hate that we are never counted

You are absolutely right. My grandmother always says that when a woman reaches a “certain” age, she becomes invisible. Well, she is beautiful to me and looks better than some 30-year-olds. I do agree with you though, Anita, the “mature” woman still shops, watches tv, is trendy ect, but she is not accounted for anything…I think there is no one wiser, prettier or knowledgeable than my nonna…..

Congrats to GH for a great week.Yeah i’m sure most people turned to see the fallout of the baby reveal but that means people were interested to see what happened.Plus as one story climaxed others moved forward. Also one thing i like that GH is doing is when there are big story reveals it is in scenes with a lot of characters.

Wow, I can’t believe 9 comments so far and not one of them has been the usual, bring back Robin, Steve Burton, blah, blah rants that we usually have to read on here.

GH has been on fire and I expect we’ll see it continue for quite some time. Congrats to everyone at the show.

The Neilsen rating system is completely antiquated and needs to be reformed. I cannot believe that Y&R is #1. That is a stinking boring show. GO GH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITA,but someone is always making it seem much better than it is, but I thought they out ranked #1 or #2, so GH is still where its been, they had a chance to at least be #2, but it boring. They know nothing about chemistry or anything. ABC/ shouls have gone with new writers, they couldn’t have done any worse than those they have now, who has proven by OLTL, they cannot write a soap.

She whats the point? When GH remove 1 or 2 than make a deal out of it. Everyone that could have made that happen has left GH, they can’t do it alone. AJ they should have kept, and went with AJ and Carly. No one cares about Liz, period! Nic will soon be gone, just like AJ and for the OLTL 3, they suck.

it was ‘AJ’ decision to leave, he called Bell at B&B he wanted to go back.. Had noting to with RC/staff or GH ..
Liz has a ton of fans who do care about her..
Nik is going nowhere
And the 3 actors from the now dead OLTL have brought their seasoned talent’s to GH .. 🙂

Well GH is only a little over 600,000 viewers from 2nd place and that might be the closest they’ve been to that in a long time.Sean Kanan got a better offer from B&B and he asked to be let go from GH.If GH really wanted to they could have held him to his contract but they didn’t.Plus i keep wondering if Sean didn’t know B&B wanted him back would he still have wanted off GH?As for the character of Elizabeth she has a lot of fans.As for the OLTL 3 as you call them 2 of them haven’t been on OLTL for over 2 years and they haven’t played their OLTL characters for over a year.So maybe we should stop calling them the OLTL 3.

I would think that such spikes would be of concern to TPTB… what is turning viewers away..

I would also add the arrival of “Ric Lansing” to the canvas and his ramped up story w/ Liz, Alexis and Molly.

And I would HOPE that viewers would want to tune into this Lante baby storyline. One that began with Julie Berman’s “Lulu” in 2012.

Y&R is a boring mess. There’s nothing compelling at all. It’s down a million viewers since Billy Miller & Michael Muhney left. Unless something changes, it will continue to shed audience.

GH is the best soap, it is just we need better writers…… These writers are from One Life to Live… Dominic Zamprogna is such a great actor. Y&R is boring as is DOOL

It’s funny how every time Michael posts some positive news about GH, the same handful of negative people come on here to complain about the show. I have to wonder, if you hate the show so much, why do you continue watching?

The show has its ups and downs like any other show. Not every storyline or character is gonna click, that’s television. But as far as I’m concerned, I’ll take Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati’s GH over Jill Farren Phelps and Bob Guza’s version of the show any day of the week. If those two were still at the helm, the show would be a distant memory by now.

Again, I do not want to sound repetitious….but, we are not complaining. I will never stop watching GH. This site is the perfect platform to voice our opinions. It is offered to us for that reason. ..to discuss, both positively and negatively. I, personally, do not want to step on anyone’s toes, rudeness is one of my pet-peeves. Nonetheless, who does not like a debate? We are expressing an opinion, whether you agree with it or not….we have that right. Any objections?

I do see some unfamiliar commentors over and over with more “unusual” 😀 comments… maybe they’re on spring break too. :-). Where is Ilovesoaps or barbara
T these days?

Oh, do the producers think that by Morgan growing a beard would make him look older? OMG…he looks like a bandito…nondescript and unwashed.

In other words, he has transmogrified into “Car-LOS! Jr….”

Lol, Shay…you know we’re really bad, don’t you?

I don’t know what my brother did to this iPad. It is doing weird things. It’s actually my mother’s….she is going to be really p———–ssed. Pardon me.

Wow…Nina was pregnant…that’s a shocker.

Sorry for all the comments, but I can’t help thinking that Nina’ gave birth and Silas has another child somewhere out there. Whatever was in that injection caused Nina to go into a coma…..something went awry . However, the baby was delivered in due time. I have a very fertile mind…and it’s galloping …..

I also think Nina’s baby with Silas lived but i’m thinking it’s someone already on the show.Nathan could be the child but Madeline raised him as hers.

I replied to you earlier, Andrew…but, my brother decided this iPad needed upgrading and so he appropriated it. Well, my comment seems to have disappeared. What you wrote could have happened, however, Silas knew Nathan as James 20 years ago. Also, Nathan is too old…the “baby” would now be around 20. It is more feasible for Kiki to be that child…the age fits. It could be that after the baby was born, Maddeline(sp.) gave the baby to Ava to raise, with monetary compensation, of course. I know, I know, it sounds pretty far-fetched , but doesn’t absurdity become reality on soaps?….cryogenics, for example….seriously?
Therefore, if this is a double comment, I apologize .

I totally agree with that theory. from the beginning I thought something was up when Ava supposedly loved Silas so much, then why not dangle a child before him? She should have known that Silas would have come running with such news. hiding this girl and passing her off as Francos daughter. she is evil.
she is capable of anything for money.

That’s a good deduction, Andrew, however, he is too old to be Nina’s and Silas’ son…this supposedly happened 20 years ago….the child would be around 20 now. Also, Silas said he remembered “Nathan”, as James….they had already met. As I always say, anything is possible in soapland.

It makes more sense for Kiki to be Nina’s daughter. If the baby was born and he/she lived, then Maddeline (sp) needed to get rid of him/her. What if she made a deal with Ava and gave her the baby to raise as her own, with fringe benefits, of course. Well, it could have happened that way.

Off topic, but can someone please shut Olivia up? Thar she goes….Olivia, another victim of Botox.

I had the same thought about Kiki too. When Silas ran that DNA test on KIki Ava was worried. We assumed she was worried that the test would have shown Silas was Kiki’s father but because Silas is a doctor maybe he would have seen something else in the test results that Ava didn’t want him finding out.So maybe Madeline gave the baby to Ava because she didn’t want it around because it was a reminder of Silas.Plus if Nina had a child he or she could inherit everything of Nina’s.As for Ava she got Silas’s child. Also Ava has that birth certificate with her listed as Kiki’s birth mother but with her connections it was probably easy to have one faked.Plus the timing of Nina’s overdose and Ava presumably getting pregnant would have been around the same time 20 years ago.So Kiki been Silas and Nina’s child makes sense story wise.

See what I mean? Triple comments…I’m so embarrassed …why do guys always think they understand technology better than girls?….sorry

not a surprise… it is spring break for many people!

Your argument might have more weight if GH wasn’t just the only soap that went up that week. Now maybe people been on Spring break would explain why GH got so many viewers that week but it doesn’t explain why the other 3 soaps went down.So my opinion is that what was going on on GH got more viewers interested and what was going on the other soaps that week turned people off for some reason.

Not an argument… I just see this every year about this time. Just means more gh fans are able to watch right away. Storyline always helps, but then again don’t you think they plan it that way sometimes? 🙂 Better or more exciting stories when more people are on vacation. Aleays seem they add more younger storylines during summer… gotta get the kids hooked on gh while they’re out of school. Know we always watched soaps more during school breaks.

I see your point and maybe GH does plan big story climaxes to happen when people are home from school or whatever. In the past maybe they would have the baby reveal until a sweeps period but GH may want to show that to them every month is sweeps like.Plus kids might be on Spring break as you say and that could be one of the reasons GH’s ratings up but it doesn’t explain why the other 3 soaps went down the same week.So it just means they wanted to watch GH and not the other soaps.

How are we to react to this latest reveal …(Dr. O and Maddie are longtime friends…or enemies)… OMG!!! Look at this…oh, I can’t believe it!!! Is that what we are expected to say? C’mon, writers…no more stupid “shockers”, please.

Loving everything that is going on with GH, all the news and surprises that keep coming up wow, Detective West and Britt are sister and brother (smh) mouth dropped can’t wait to see what is going to happen next week 🙂

I’m rooting for GH to over take B&B. That show is so morally corrupt that I cannot watch. I only started watch about 2 years ago but had to stop because of that woman Brooke sleeping with and having a baby with her sister’s husband all the while lying about it and now its her dumb daughter’s turn to sleep with brothers. I know we are suppose to suspend your imaginations with soaps but this is just too much for me.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast

After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.

Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.

The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.

In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.

Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”

As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”

Calderon took to his Instagram story and simply shared, “Thank You, Brilliant Minds.”

The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Sophia Seemingly Plans to End Her Life, But Not Before Setting Fire to Johnny’s Apartment With Him Trapped Inside

The final few moments of the Thursday, April 30 episode of Days of our Lives, will pave the way, to what just may be the end of Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) life, but not as you may think!

After an unhinged Sophia paid a visit to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), maced him in the eyes, knocked him out and then tied up to a chair, now conscious, she lets him know that she holds him responsible for all the trouble and trauma she has gone through from adopting her child, and her being sent to a mental institution.

So instead of the unregistered gun Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) gave her to finish off Johnny, Sophia sets up a plan to light candle, use nail polish remover and turn on the gas on the stove to ultimately create a mass explosion, which although Johnny pleaded to her not to that to all the innocent people inside his apartment building, she doesn’t seem to care.

FIERY FACE OFF

The plan was supposed to be, after she takes care of Johnny she will toss the gun in the Salem River, then focus on payback to Holly Jonas before leaving town to start a new life.

Now, Sophia makes her exit, leaving Johnny to be a few moments away from an explosion or gas inhalation, when Chanel (Raven Bowens) comes home after awaiting the results of her mammogram. She sees Johnny tied up, as he panics and tells her to put out the flame on the candle, things go awry, and a fire has begun and everything may go up in flames with Johnny and Chanel inside.

A BROKEN SOPHIA

Back in her room, Sophia breaks down after reading the social media comments about her, she planted, and then starts writing a suicide or farewell note which says. “I’m tired of begging for forgiveness for my mistakes. All I wanted was to move forward, to be loved and understood. But it’s clear that I was never going to get that. Holly Jonas said that I was dead to her. So, as her former BFF, I’m going to make her dream a reality.”

A DEADLY TRAP

Now, the fate of Johnny, Chanel and Sophia will be revealed on tomorrow’s May 1st cliffhanger, which may be the end of Sophia when she crosses paths with Kirsten at the bridge near the river. We do know Rachel Boyd is no longer appearing in the show credits section and is now off contract with the soap.
