TONIGHT: DAYS Deidre Hall Stars In Hallmark Channel's LUCKY IN LOVE!

It’s been a busy on-screen week for Days of our Lives iconic Deidre Hall!  First, she officiated as Marlena the same-sex wedding of Sonny and Will on the NBC soap opera, a first for the series and daytime television.  And now tonight. she appears in the new Hallmark Channel movie, Lucky in Love which premieres tonight at 9PMEST/8PMCST!

Lucky in Love tells the tale of Mira Simon (Jessica Szohr), who feels like life must be a prank when all of her dreams start coming true on April Fool’s Day.  An April Fool, however, she is not.

After three of her own tricks materialize, Mira finds herself promoted to the perfect job, dating the perfect man, and living in the perfect home. Her huge promotion even allows her to work directly with her professional hero, CEO Erin Billings (Deidre Hall) and her friend, Jonah (Benjamin Hollingsworth), on a massive social media website relaunch.  But things don’t go so smoothly!

On-Air On-Soaps spoke to Deidre about her role of Erin Billings: “I play a CEO of a facebook-type media company, and it’s typical Hallmark formula about interesting people doing interesting things.  There is a conflict and a love story.  It has high standards and great values and then it resolves. So you never go into thinking, “Wait, did somebody in die in this?” That is why it’s so delicious; you know how it all turns out. You can just relax and take the ride.”

As to if Erin is a good gal as Marlena is, Hall offered up this comparison:  “It was an adventure for me, although she is very Marlena-esque.  She is way “stylish” … bigger time stylish than Marlena. (Laughs)  She is a bit more flamboyant, but she has that same pulsing heart.  She has these little kettles under her wing and it will go right in her arena, and everybody will come out unscathed. There is a moment where my character is helping my young employees develop an invention and seeing it through. and the young girl (Jessica Szohr) falls apart in the middle of it, and then resigns, and Erin gives her a talking  in order to help her.”

47th Annual Daytime Emmy Ceremonies Canceled Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

There won’t be any “And the Enmy goes to _” come this June, where NATAS had originally scheduled three nights of award presentations honoring the best in daytime programming at the 47th Annual Daytime Emmys.   The three-day event was slated for June 12-14th, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena. California.  Deadline broke the story of the decision to postpone daytime’s biggest night, for now.

NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said of today’s decision: “These were extremely difficult decisions to make, but at the end of the day the health and safety of our event attendees and staff must remain our paramount concern,” NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said of today’s decision. “We are closely monitoring public heath authorities’ guidance, seeking feedback from our awards communities, and evaluating the flexibility of our venue and production partners as we plan for the future in this unprecedented context.”

NATAS chairman Terry O’Reilly said on the change” “Given our concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided that we will not be staging the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena this coming June.  As there are so many unknowns right now with the flow of information changing on a daily, almost hourly, basis, it would simply be irresponsible to move forward with our annual celebration of excellence in daytime television at this time.”
