The proof is the pudding, ABC! That’s right, the one show the network saved.

OLTL added another 263,000 viewers for the ratings period, and held at a solid #3 above GH which was in at #4.  In addition, One Life was dangerously close to the number # 2 spot held by B&B. Please say that this will make a difference, or at least helps OLTL find a better new home. ABC is permanently tainted, even if they do change their mind.

OLTL and GH are my favorite soaps. BOTH should stay on the air for years to come.

Although GH maintains in lead in the important age demographics, OLTL is also giving a very respectable showing in that age group. OLTL deserves another chance. Both shows have continued value.

Women 18-49 Viewers
1. Y&R 913,000 (+32,000/-215,000)
2. GH 713,000 (-58,000/-133,000)
3. OLTL 690,000 (+22,000/+62,000)
4. DAYS 630,000 (+33,000/-109,000)
5. B&B 525,000 (+9,000/-175,000)
6. AMC 520,000 (-20,000/-85,000)

DAYS is soooooo bad at the moment- they need a miracle to pull themselves out of the mess that they have done to themselves. TPTB need to see that their current storylines are not what people want to see. However, glad to see OLTL doing great and they have great writing and they deserve the high ratings.

Hey all you OLTL fans….keep up the good work. Keep tuning in, like never before. Tell a friend, neighbor, family member to tune in. Let’s keep moving those ratings! I won’t be satisfied until we top Y&R, then what will the network have to say to justify a cancellation?

NBC…pick up this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine what this show could do with a little support and promotion from the network?

This is wonderful news! oh how I wish it’d make a difference to tptb

Mr. Fairman could you tell us how well One Life is doing on Soap Net in comparison to the other shows?

Could it be because OLTL is filmed in NY? Their taxes and cost of everthing is out of sight! Just asking!

Clearly this shows ABC really needs to re-think their decision. To be up 507,000 viewers from last year is HUGE. To come so close to B&B is also huge. I think ABC should hold a meeting ASAP to discuss what is going on. This is more than fans rallying. There are a lot of people out there who don’t want to see these shows go and they recognize how great OLTL is these days. High numbers = $$$ ABC… that’s what you want, right?

I can’t beleive you are taking off “2” good show such as OLTL and AMC, I have watched these shows since they started, so sad to see them go. You must have a better idea some where.

Way to go OLTL!!!!

With ratings numbers like this ABC should really rethink their stupid decision to cancel this wonderful show. What happens if it hits number one in the ratings? Will it still be cancelled? There are thousands of avid fans like myself that will continue to support this show and boycott ABC.

Shame on abc! They clearly made a huge mistake!
I can’t imagine not having amc and oltl anymore.
Shame on Oprah also. We all reached out to her for her help and not only did she refuse to pick them u on her network, but she didn’t even offer to help campaign for them and all their loyal fans, to save them!

U ..was suppose to be UP. Sorry.

Folks, you do realize that we are talking about being ranked #2 among five low-rated shows (Y&R still gets decent ratings). The ratings going up a few tenths of a point aren’t going to make any difference in the show’s profitability. This doesn’t change the last 5 years of awful ratings. Stop being so delusional.

Rude much?

OLTL gained half a million viewers over last year this week. That is tremendous.

I don’t understand why ABC doesn’t cut ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ back to half-hour. Then again, I take it that ABC has no interest in saving the soaps, and has no interest in reversing the cancellation decision. I wish that CBS/P&G could have done the same with ‘Guiding Light’ and ‘As the World Turns’.

I would certainly be interested in seeing NBC picking up AMC and OLTL, and airing both soaps in the half-hour format in the 2PM hour. NBC cutting ‘The Today Show’ back to its original 2-hour format… and airing a newly revived ‘Later Today’ talk show in the 9AM hour. Just a thought.

I really hope we do get picked up b another network.

Please save OLTL! EVERYONE watch and encourage your friends too.

How can General Hospital be safe with the one plot month after month involving the mob and very seldom having very little to do with a hospital. The show uses the same characters ,Jason,Carly,Sam,Sonny, and Michael every day and have done away with core families. They have glorified the mob and made buffoons of the police dept. so if any show has to be canceled ,how in the world does this show not make the list as number 1 ?

OLTL is one of the Best. But died once new characters were brought in and the ulimately END of STARR & COLE
Buddy chose to leave BUT I chose to leave sooner, right before he did.

I’m a dedicated fan of OLTL and watch everyday when I can when I can’t I DVR AMC and OLTL but when I saw this article I was kind of shocked to see how OLTL’s rating were a little high, fingers crossed that a network picks up both these institutions soon.

General Hospital

Lane Davies Joins the Cast of General Hospital Setting up a ‘Santa Barbara’ Reunion with Nancy Lee Grahn

Some very intriguing casting news out of General Hospital. The ABC daytime drama has cast former Santa Barbara favorite, Lane Davies (ex-Mason Capwell), in the role of Fergus Byrne, an attorney who crosses paths with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

According to TV Insider, Davies will make debut the week of May 22nd.  As soap fans know, together with the aforementioned Grahn, they created the Santa Barbara supercouple of Mason and Julia Wainwright. Davies portrayed Mason Capwell family from 1984 through 1989.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time in Port Charles for Lane. From 2002-2004 he played Dr. Cameron Lewis and also shared on-screen story with Grahn.  At that time Davies, played Xander Smith’s father.

GH fans are wondering about the last name of Davies new character, “Bryne”. If you recall, Alexis got herself involved with therapist Dr. Neil Bryne, who died when Harmony broke into Alexis‘ house and killed Neil by injecting him with opioids.

Taking to her Instagram, Grahn shared her excitement at the upcoming on-screen reunion with Davies, “It never gets old. We do 😂…. but it doesn’t 😍. Lookin’ forward to another romp.”

So, what do you think about Lane Davies returning to GH to play an attorney in Alexis’ orbit? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

One Life to Live Alum Jonathan Groff Receives 2024 Tony Award Nomination for Leading Actor in a Musical

Nominations were announced on Tuesday for the 77th annual Tony Awards by previous winners, Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson, One Life to Live) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

When the dust settled it was Stereophonic (which is loosely based on the story of Fleetwood Mac) and Hell’s Kitchen (Alicia Keys musical) that both scored 13 Tony nominations to lead the pack.

However, Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along made quite the comeback and is nominated for several awards including Best Revival of a Musical and for one of its stars, Jonathan Groff (ex-Henry Mackler, One Life to Live).

Groff is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical and will go up against Brody Grant — The Outsiders, Dorian Harewood —The Notebook, Brian d’Arcy James — Days of Wine and Roses and Eddie Redmayne — Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.

In addition to his previous Tony nod for his role in Hamilton, Jonathan was nominated for a Lead Actor in a Musical for his role as Melchior Gabor in the original production of  Spring Awakening.

Jonathan co-stars in the revival of Merrily We Roll Along “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe and previous Tony winner Lindsay Mendez.

Back in 2019, Groff visited Live with Kelly and Ryan and discussed his debut on One Life while working at night on Broadway in Spring Awakening.

He shared on his experience on the soap, “I do remember my first day because I was doing Spring Awakening on Broadway at the time, and One Life to Live was my first time ever being on TV.  So I got this offer, and I was like, ‘Yes, I would love to be in a soap opera,’ and we finished Spring Awakening at 11:00 p.m. and I woke up the next morning at 4:0 a.m. to walk uptown to go to do One Life to Live, and I called my agent and left a message, and I said ‘You have to get me out of this, I can’t wake up at 4 o’clock in the morning!'” You can watch the clip below.

The 77th annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 16, with Tony and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose returning to host for the third time.

So, rooting for Jonathan to take home his long-awaited Tony Award after several decades in the theater? Do you remember him as part of teen scene on OLTL? Comment below.
