As we had teased, Sunday night’s season three season finale of ABC’s Revenge was the perfect touch for Mother’s Day, in that it was the “Mother of all Season Finales!”

In one of the most shock filled, twisted, and thrilling season finales we have seen from a primetime serialized drama in a long time,  this had it all!

SPOILER ALERT: DO NOT REAd ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE!

In the season three finale as teased someone would die, and that character ended up to be none other than Aiden (Barry Sloane)!  This sets the stage for A new generated story of revenge for Emily (Emily VanCamp) in season four as she figures out it was Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) who killed her lover!  How did Vic do it?  Aiden went to confront Michelle, the shrink who kept little Amanda locked up all those years ago.  Victoria who is now on to Emily, laced the tea that Aiden was sipping in Michelle’s office with a toxin that paralyzed him!  Next, after Michelle leaves (who is somewhat an accomplice in all of this), Victoria comes in and finishes the job and smothers Aiden with a pillow!  She says: “Emily ripped away my chance for true love.  It’s only fair that I do the same for her.”  Victoria is hell bent at giving pay back to Emily, because she believes Emily was responsible for the death of Pascal (Olivier Martinez), her love who was chopped to bits last week thanks to a shove from Conrad (Henry Czerny)!

But that was not the only death,  or so we think in the season finale! After Conrad is having a difficult time in prison, or so we are to believe and being roughed up by a security guard, later in the episode, Conrad buys his freedom from the guard! Dressed in a priest collar and hat, Conrad is let out of jail a free man!  The prison guard informs Conrad to look for the designated driver down the road who will pick up him.   As Conrad walks the dark road celebrating his freedom, the man gets out of the car, approaches him and stabs him!  The man wearing a hoodie unveils himself to be David Clarke!  He is alive!  So what does this mean?  Is David not the good guy we thought he was? Has he been hiding while his daughter has been enduring all the evil of the Grayson clan?  Is Conrad truly dead, spelling the end of Henry Czerny’s time on the show?  More questions for next season!

The ultimate comeuppance happened to Victoria at the end of the episode, or was it?  Emily lures Victoria to the gravesite where we think she is digging up the grave of David Clarke, after the mysterious ring appeared with his initials on it during Charlotte’s kidnapping! Now comes the confrontation where Victoria basically tells Emily she knows she is Amanda Clarke, and then badmouths her father.  Emily counters that she’s not digging up her father’s grave, she’s digging up Amanda’s.  Next, she knocks out Victoria with her shovel!  When the scene picks up,Victoria is waking up in a white room in restraints in a mental hospital! In a clever twist that now all made sense, Emily has had Victoria committed! She tells the doctors that Victoria became convinced that she  is really Amanda and that Victoria went so far as to try and dig up Amanda’s grave to prove it!  The piece de resistance is Michelle, who Emily went to after Aiden died and threatened her unless she helps her, corroborates the story!  And the last thing we hear is Victoria screaming while being given massive sedation, or drugs, or whatever:  “She’s Amanda Clarke! She’s Amanda Clarke!”

Elsewhere in the episode, Daniel (Josh Bowman) is left implicated and in a compromising position thanks to Gideon, Margaux’s (Karine Vanasse) brother, who is working with Nolan (Gabriel Mann) to take down his sister and Daniel for control of his Pascal’s  empire.  Gideon had a photo snapped of Daniel passed out in bed with an OD coke addicted floozy!  And Margaux is on her way to see Daniel!  Daniel doesn’t realize there is a dead woman next to him.  And Jack (Nick Wechsler) was whisked away by the police in hands-cuffs thanks to Charlotte (Christa B. Allen)! She remembers his touch and figures out he was behind her kidnapping!

So, What did you think of the Revenge season finale? Do you think Conrad is truly dead? What did you think of the return of David?  And Victoria put in the loony bin?  Share your thoughts below!

…best nighttime soap cliff hanger since Dynasty when terrorists shot everyone at the wedding in Moldava!

I knew David Clarke was still alive but i didn’t expect him to show up the way he dd.I can’t wait for Emily to find out her father is still alive and all the things she did and all the risks she took to get revenge was for nothing. However i’m thinking next season opens up with Emily trying to help Jack.As for Conrad i think he’ll live but go into hiding for a bit. Also i’m wondering which of his daughters David will approach first and if he knows Emily is really Amanda.I can’t wait for next season

Last night’s episode of Revenge reminded me why I fell in love with Revenge since day one. I
What a bloody fantastic episode. Heartbreaking the way Aiden was murdered (Victoria, you suck!) and maybe others don’t think so, but I hate that Conrad is dead! That man’s dry wit and sickening (yet humorous) relationship with Victoria will leave a huge void on the show.
What a twist with David Clark…Jack being arrested…Victoria in an institution.
I can’t wait for September! To all the actors, writers and crew of Revenge, you delivered last night. Thank you lots!

I think Victoria knew David was alive, maybe even helped get him into hiding.

Best part of episode, when emily wacked the b*tch with the shovel. I was hoping Emily would bury her alive.

One of the best if not THE best cliffhanger of any show I’ve ever seen! Anyone who felt this show was done or had gotten stale must not have been watching this season…

It’s shows like this that keep you riveted and “feeling” long after the TV is turned off. I was particularly moved by Aidan’s demise though I knew, since he was leaving for another show, that he’d be killed off. But still, I fell in love with him and adored him with Emily/Amanda. And the WAY they killed him, though used in other shows/films is so beyond horrific that I actually turned away…it was just that gruesome to me. When they placed him on the couch…eyes wide open as he died paralyzed…UGH!!!!…so realistic and shattering.

The twists and turns at every level were off the chart! Cannot wait for next season! The only thing I hate about great shows is the knowledge that they’ll eventually end….

They really upped their game this season… and needed to after season two. But, I agree, great cliffhanger!

The finale was great! I hope Conrad is alive too, he’s a great character. The shovel to the head was the best! I’m probably in the minority when I say that I’m not pleased that David is alive. Seems like a cheap plot ploy to me and negates all of Emily’s revengey acts. I’m glad the show is renewed to see how it plays out though.

I was actually clapping when it was over..One of the best season finales I ever seen.

Haha! I might have done that too! I’m not sure honestly….but I know I’ve done that with other great shows. Fantastic when TV or film can move us to such an extent…

I agree. 🙂

Body count of three if you count the unknown woman in bed with Daniel.

I think I missed something. When Emily was fighting with the guy in the cabin she looked down and saw an empty syringe in her thigh. Did anything happen to her as a result of that?

Not really…. she surmised that Victoria was trying to get her DNA (obviously to compare against Charlotte’s and Carl’s)…

I am so bummed that Aiden is dead. He was my favorite part of the show. Who wouldn’t love the sexy British hero who loves and does anything for the woman he loves….

I knew he was going to go because he is cast elsewhere next year, but I’m still bummed. And what a anticlamatic way for a kick butt character like him to go…. by pillow. Blah.

Must find new sexy Brits to fall in love with…. please leave suggestions….

While technically not British, Gregory Fitoussi is a French find who stars in the Brit-produced “Mr. Selfridge” as Henri LeClair…..love him!!!! But I hear you on the Brit boys….I am always thrilled with them, too. Of course, Benedict Cumberbatch as “Sherlock” is awesome, but I also enjoy Rupert Penry-Jones on “Silk,” and Kris Marshall is absolutely delightful in “Murder in Paradise.” As for Aiden, I was not so taken with him, but I have to tell you, I have caught him on a few different PBS programs filmed “pre-Revenge”….The Father Brown Mysteries (Series One-Episode One) and also one of the early DCI Banks. Check them out!

Thanks!

)oooh my god!!
that was a roller coaster of emotions..
I was on the edge of my seat for an hour..
the ending was a true shocker! spectacular !!
I can’t wait for the next season to begin..

there were about a dozen cliffhangers !!

While I will watch Season Four, I have to say I have become really bored with this show….the cliffhanger didn’t move me. Mainly because as the protagonist, Emily totally puts me off….she is as corrupted as the lot she is attempting to vanquish, so I cannot truly back her either. Besides, I find the character totally unlikeable. Quite frankly, Nolan is the star of the show for me, and I still want Patrick back….along with Victoria, they are the only ones for whom I hold any fascination. Oh, and I still despise Margaux…wish she would just go away…hence, “Team Gideon” even if he is a creepy little freak!!!!

Deidre Hall Marks 50 Years as ‘Days of Our Lives’ Dr. Marlena Evans

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.

It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.

In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

Photo: NBC

There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.

DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.

Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

THE LOVES OF MARLENA

Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.

TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME

While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!

The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.

The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.

The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.

In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.

It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.

THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA

In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)

In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.

Tune-in to Days of our Lives on the Monday, June 22 episode as Marlena looks back at her 50 years in Salem.

Share your congratulations to Deidre Hall for this incredible 50-year milestone as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in the comment section. Then let us know, what is your all-time favorite storyline or moment in the life of Marlena over the past 5 decades? And, just for kicks, and to celebrate this amazing milestone, here is Marlena levitating below circa Christmas Eve 1994.

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

Published

By

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).

On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..

In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”

GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW

So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!

FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD

As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and  and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”

Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.

So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
