WWE SummerSlam 2025 Top Moments: Seth Rollins Cashes In, Cody Rhodes Defeats John Cena, Brock Lesnar Returns
The first-ever two-night SummerSlam is in the record books and when the smoke cleared over the weekend, the WWE world heavyweight title picture has been significantly altered as the result of one man’s complete deception and another ending the reign of the GOAT.
The main events also brought with it so much emotion in the ring, and to the WWE Universe inside MetLife Stadium which was revealed by Stephanie McMahon to have two-night attendance of 113,772.
In an odd set-up, night two, while more engrossing and entertaining than night one, went a bit overboard with four out of the six matches being no DQ in various versions: a street fight, no DQ match, cage match and TLC match. Meanwhile night 1 didn’t start firing on all cylinders till match 5 of 6.
Now below are the OMG, A-HA, Top moments of SummerSlam 2025.

THE ROLLINS RUSE
The most epic moment of all occurred in the Night 1 main event following the WWE World Heavyweight title match between Gunther and CM Punk. In what was one of CM Punk’s best matches since being back in the WWE, Punk showed his resilience as he kicked out of three of Guthner’s powerbombs and escaped a sleeper hold. As Gunther gloated, Punk was able to trip him up and throw him over the announce tahle and it opened up a gash on Gunther’s head, which we rarely see. (We later found out he has broken his nose previously and this angle was a way to write him off TV for awhile),
Back in the ring, this softened “The Ring General” up, and suddenly Punk had the upperhand with two GTS’s which put Gunther down and for the first time since 2013, CM Punk held a WWE title, something he has waited for and wanted for so long. An emotionally and physically spent Punk was reduced to tears. And just when you thought the night was over in a feel-good moment, think again. Seth Rollins theme entrance music hit!

Photo: WWE
Now accompanied by the Wiseman, Paul Heyman, it appeared Rollins (on crutches from his supposed knee injury) was taunting Punk that when he returns to in-ring action, he will come gunning for him since he is Mr. “Money in the Bank.” But hold on! Rollins turns around hobbling a bit on his crutches with his back turned and then pushes them away, take soff the knee brace, comes running down the ring, plummets Punk over the head three times with the Money in the Bank briefcase, before cashing it in, and giving one Stomp to Punk and its over. For the second time in his career, Seth Rollins has cashed in and won the World Heavyweight championship.
It all made sense because Rollins ruse had some holes in it, when no one was getting an injury update from anyone in Seth’s camp. The most recent update came from Seth himself while on the Rich Eisen talk show, where he claimed that the doctors needed the swelling to go down in his knee properly access the damage, and there was also the perfectly timed video of Seth chasing his daughter, Roux while on crutches that went viral. Well-played, Seth “Freakin’ Rollins, well-played!
CENA PASSES THE TORCH TO RHODES
In what was a superior outing than the odd and clumsy WrestleMania 41 match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Heavyweight Championship, the rematch was a street fight, which brought the best out of each man, and shockingly, Cena’s abrupt turn back to a babyface, after his months long heel run during his farewell tour, wasn’t an act. He actually is now back to the John Cena everyone knows and loves, so much so that Rhodes, the current face of the franchise, was boo’d.

Photo: WWE
The ring entrances were top level for this match with Cena’s black and white heel graphics turned back to technicolor and Rhodes with his iconic father, Dusty Rhodes words of encouragement emblazoned on the entrance screen. The oh-oh moment occurred when Rhodes unhooked the bottom rope and smashed Cena with a blunt metal end of it multiple times, while his face was pleading for John to stay down so he did not have to go to these lengths.
As things took a turn after an Attitude Adjustment from Cena, the American Nightmare held on with a Cody Cutter through the table that left Cena stunned on the ropes. Next, Rhodes gave the GOAT, a signature Cena salute, before pinning him and becoming the champion once again.
In the passing the torch moment, Cena lifted Cody’s hands in the air as an emotional Rhodes was fighting back tears. If you had any question on how the remaining five months of John Cena’s farewell tour would go, and that if he indeed is a bonafide babyface once again, look no further than the shocking moment when the “Beast Incarnate,” Brock Lesnar shows up on WWE programming stunning the crowd and Cena.
BROCK LESNAR RETURNS
In his cowboy look, Lesnar eventually stares down Cena, climbs in the ring and delivers an F-5. During the WWE SummerSlam post-show, Chief Content officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque weighed-in on his reaction to Lesnar’s return, “My reaction was exactly what I thought it was gonna be, which was, if there had been a roof on this place, it wouldn’t be here anymore. The dynamic in the room in WWE changes when The Beast is here. Seeing Brock Lesnar come back, anything that you thought was happening sort of all goes out the window because the factor of Brock now just changes that dynamic so incredibly. It makes it unpredictable.”

Photo: WWE
However, the WWE Universe is a bit confused that Lesnar is back at all. It was the first time in two years since his name was famously revealed as part of the civil lawsuit against Vince McMahon. Lesnar’s merchandise was even removed by Shop WWE.com a few years back over allegations that Janelle Grant was supposed to make “personalized sexual content” for Brock, and that McMahon flew Lesnar to meet her for a sexual encounter that never happened.
PAUL AND ROLL
\The social media provocateur has a new nemesis the leaned out Country/pop music superstar, Jelly Roll. In a shocker, this match in which Logan Paul teamed with Drew McIntrye against Jelly Roll and Randy Orton was very entertaining and we have to say Paul is such the real deal and that viral moment leap frogging so high in the air and crashing down on Jelly Roll who took the bump will be forever etched in our minds.

Photo: WWE
In the end, and in the twist, Logan Paul pinned Jelly, not as once would anticipate the good guy would get back at the bully, but this sets things up down the line and also served to prop up Paul who is “Prime” ready for a title run.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Looks Back at 50 Years in Salem

The June 22 episode of Days of Our Lives reminded us all of why Deidre Hall is iconic in the role of Dr. Marlena Evans. Here we are 50 years later, and Marlena is still the heroine of the long-running soap opera, and Deidre remains one of the most most recognizable names in the history of soaps.
To pay tribute, and to look back at the life and times of Marlena, the story starts with Marlena flipping through a photo album of her with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) over the years. As she misses him dearly, she gets a knock on the door and its none other than John’s son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean).
With Andrew (Colton Little) in Salem working on a case, he sits down with Marlena, who says she can’t believe its been fifty years since she first arrived in Salem! Cue: Deidre’s first scenes on DAYS when she finds Mickey Horton (the late John Clarke) playing chess against himself inside the mental institution she worked.

THE FLASHBACKS OF MARLENA’S LIFE
From there, viewers definitely got the cliff notes version of the history of Marlena and entrenched within them, some of the biggest moments in Deidre’s enduring run. Paul thinks he is looking at 70s Marlena while going through her scrapbook, but he is actually looking at her twin, Samantha (Andrea Hall),. Cue: when Marlena confronted Samantha about impersonating her, and then later getting a call on her radio show from the Salem Strangler (Jack Coleman as Jake Kostichek) who killed Samantha thinking it was Marlena.
Belle has arrived at this time to meet up with Paul, unaware of this trip down memory lane. She wants to go over the findings in the chess board mystery Stefano willed to Marlena and John, in private with him, since Marlena previously said she wanted nothing to do with it.
Next, Marlena speaks highly of Don Craig and even though their marriage didn’t work out, she could find a path forward with the new love her life, Roman Brady. (Wayne Northrop however is never shown, possibly to keep the story focused on John as Roman for confusion sakes?)
Paul sees a photo of a young Carrie (Christie Clark) in the album and Marlena says she was such a godsend after losing the baby. In fact, Marlena says caring for Carrie prepared her for her having and raising her own twins, Eric and Sami. Cue: The twin visiting Marlena in the hospital.
JOHN AND MARLENA’S LOVE CONQUERED ALL
Then in a way to get through and incorporate the wild storylines only Marlena could have been, she tells Belle and Paul, she has been through so much in her life, how lucky she was to find John, and some of the most unbelievable experiences no one could imagine. Cue: Marlena possessed by the devil and levitating from the bed. Next, John confronting Marlena being the Salem Stalker, where she admits she killed Alice, pretends she needs help, then pulls a gun on her beloved John!
The comment is made by Paul and Marlena, that she literally has been to hell and back and she could not have survived were it not for her beloved John. Cue the big emotional highpoint clips; The Pier Scene! Marlena steps out of the fog when John sees her from a distance. After believing she was dead for four years, here she was before him in one of the greatest reunion of love story in history. What followed were other times of the life of times of Jarlena.

MARLENA’S ‘GIFT’ FROM STEFANO HAS A NEW CLUE
When Marlena makes a brief exit to the other room, Belle fills him Paul in on the chess set Stefano left her mother and the photo of the Lire. Paul said he will investigate. Marlena overhears and says promise her if things get dangerous you will back off, she does not want anyone hurt by Stefano’s games.
As the episode comes to a conclusion its just Belle and Marlena going through the photo album giggling about 70s hairstyles and all the memories. Belle speaks on the impact Marlena has had in everyone’s lives and that is both the heart of their family and the heart of Salem.
End card comes up acknowledging Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary as Marlena and we fade to black.
So, what did you think of Marlena’s walk down memory lane? Were you happy to see the flashback clips utilized throughout? Were you touched by the scenes and the performance of Deidre Hall? Let us know what you thought of Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary episode via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell Surfaces; A Twist in Britt’s Condition

On the Thursday, June 18 episode of General Hospital, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) makes his shocking return right in Port Charles, after fleeing (thanks to Cassius) to supposedly parts unknown to escape capture for trying to kill Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).
How does he show up in town? First, Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) gets a text from Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to meet in his hotel room. Ezra thinks the two are going to have a sexcapade so he puts champagne on ice for his favorite escort.
Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Ezra’s excitement turns towards fear as instead of Jacinda, Sidwell is standing in front of him. Next, Sidwell blackmails Boyle telling him he has plenty of leverage he can use against him. Sidwell wants to use Ezra to help him takedown, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Lucas, Laura (Genie Francis) and Cullum.

ARE SIDWELL’S DAYS NUMBERED?
Meanwhile, Sonny confides in his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst). He says he knows who killed Marco an he is going to use that intel to lure Sidwell out of hiding. Sonny also shares he is going to kill Sidwell, and handle this by himself. He gave the PCPD a chance, but they failed to nab Sidwell for good and lock him up.
Sonny also has been tracking the whereabouts of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco (Finn Carr) through Brick, and learned they took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then boarded a fairy to take them somewhere off the island.

BRITT’S ‘SYMPTOMS’ RETURN
Turns out, Britt and Rocco are hiding out in the British Virgin Islands. Britt set up Rocco with a burner phone and a VPN on her tablet, that is not traceable. Rocco reads on the tablet about Lucas’ shooting. Britt starts to have the shakes and passes out. When she comes to, Britt won’t let Rocco call a doctor, but he uses his phone to step on the balcony and call Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and ask for help. Charlotte looks shocked to hear from her brother as Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) looks on!

However, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) could be the one to put two and two together! While at General Hospital and after questioning Lucas about a syringe he found that was in someone’s possession. the toxicology report showed traces of saline solution, not actual medication. He asks Dr. Jones, why someone would inject themselves with saline? Lucas responds saline is harmless and would have no effect on someone.
So, does this mean that this entire time, Britt has been led to believe that the medication she was taking to treat her Huntington’s disease was placebo? Has Britt been lied to into believing she is dying? Is something else wrong with her instead?
Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below, and if you are ready for Sidwell to finally get his comeuppance from Sonny! But first, watch the scenes where Sidwell comes out of hiding and blackmails Ezra Boyle.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante and ‘Nathan’ Have It Out, Valentin and Carly Share Passionate Moments Which May Be Their Last
On the June 16 episode of General Hospital, the PCPD under acting police commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is in a bit of mess and does not go unnoticed by ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor).
First, there is the whole Chase (Josh Swickard) defending Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) over Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who he arrested for allegedly tossing Willow in the waters next to the Quartermaine boathouse. Turner has had it with Chase’s good guy act and how he tampered with evidence in her case against Willow for shooting Drew.
Later, Dante and Justine question “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) about Sidwell’s escape while in his custody. Turner is not buying his cover story that he was ambushed by Sidwell and his men. Once “Nathan” left the interrogation room, Turner went in on Dante about having “Nathan” on the force after seven years away, and Chase she views as a “dirty cop.”
However, Dante defends both of his officers, but Justine warned that “Nathan” and Chase’s behavior would reflect poorly on Dante as commissioner and she should really think about that. Later, Dante has a terse confrontation with “Nathan” on how he botched a prison transport and that he better watch his back as Justine is one step away from turning this over to Internal Affairs.
COP MADNESS
Next, “Nathan” apologizes for the way he handled the situation with Rocco and says he feels badly. But then in the twist, Dante said that he was grateful that “Nathan” had been there for his son in his time of need (referencing after Rocco shot Cullum and covered it up).
Then, there’s the newest police officer in the precinct, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett). He may actually be on to “Nathan’s” double life when he questions him about a syringe found in Britt’s room at Bobbie’s. “Nathan” made up a story to counter Joe’s, that he was not aware that his sister was taking anything for her Huntington’s disease diagnosis. Joe called the forensic department lab wanting to know what drug was exactly in the syringe.

BEFORE YOU GO
At Carly’s (Laura Wright), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tells her that he must travel to Geneva to speak to the head of the WSB, named Z. Valentin feels it’s the only way to save Josslyn if he informs Z about Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) being a double agent. Valentin shares with Carly that he has to stop Cullum from bringing his dangerous cold fusion device online. Carly is beside herself. She doesn’t want Valentin to sacrifice himself by turning himself into the organization who has made him a fugitive in the first place. Valentin stands firm that he must meet Z in person.
Knowing that revealing himself to the WSB meant he was likely going back to prison, Valentin asked Carly if she’d get in touch with his daughter, Charlotte so he could say good-bye to her. Next, Carly and Valentin make their way to the bedroom to make love, which may be for the very last time, if Valentin is caught and put back in Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison.

CAUGHT BY CULLUM
At the same time while at Wydemere, Cullum is talking with one of his WSB operatives. Now, he is pondering if Valentin and Sidwell were working together all along. Next, Cullum entertains the idea of involving the FBI to locate Britt and Rocco. He says he plans to kill them both once he knows of their whereabouts. Cullum sees the only other threat to the completion of the cold fusion project to be Anna Devane.
Cullum wants to track the location of the unidentified person who called the private clinic in France trying to get in touch with Anna, while pretending to be Kevin Collins. When the agent came back with a report, he says it emanated from a cell tower near Shoreline Road. It’s in the that moment that a light bulb goes on for Cullum! Valentin is in Port Charles and hiding at Carly’s!
So, what do you think of the PCPD cops, Chase, Joe and “Nathan?” Who should Dante fire? Do you think Valentin will go the run?Are you digging Carly and Valentin’s relationship and want it to continue, especially with Finola Hughes on her way back as Anna next month on-screen? Weigh-in via the comment section, and in case you missed it, you can check out our latest interview with Dominic Zamprogna below from his appearance on the Michael Fairman Channel, where he talks the PCPD cops, Rocco on the run, and more.
