Robin Roberts returned to the set of Good Morning America this morning but not to go live on the air, but to do a dry run.

According to a report via ABC, Roberts arrived at 5AM this morning to the GMA Times Square studio in what was the first in a series of dry runs before resuming her co-anchor role.

Robin related,”My doctors want me to see how many people I actually come in contact with.  How my body reacts to the stimulation, that’s code word for stress, of being in the studio environment. My skin is very sensitive and so we have to see how it reacts to the studio lights. My vision is still a little blurry from the treatment. All of this is getting better day by day so that is the next step.”

Roberts who had a bone marrow transplant in September to treat myelodysplastic syndrome, and has been off GMA since the end of August 2012.   Robin also revealed in a video interview last week with the GMA team that she hopes to be back in the anchor chair sometime in February,  “I have a date in mind that is very important to me. But I will ultimately listen to what my doctors say and what they recommend.”

So what do you think of the news of Robin returning for a dry run?  Let us know your thoughts!

I am very proud of Robin Roberts. It’s fantastic that she is slowing going back to work. I don’t want to rush anything, though. I want to make sure she’s 110% ready. Her health is no.1 right now!

This is great! Can’t wait to see her on GMA again. Yesterday Janet Jackson posted on facebook and twitter about Robin returning to GMA and sending her love and prayers. I’m glad she’s doing this slowly and easing back into it!

It will be good to get her back on GMA. The “team” seems incomplete without her. Glad she’s doing so well!!

Emma Scorpio Drake’s return is scheduled for Thursday, February 6th, but due to coverage of the President Donald Trump impeachment trial and current episodes being pushed back, this date may change.

Hallmark Channel Chief Bill Abbott Exits In Aftermath Of Same-Sex Ad Controversy

Looks like there is still fallout from the Hallmark Channel pulling several ads from wedding planner, Zola that centered on a same-sex lesbian couple kissing at their wedding.

Now, Bill Abbott, who has been Crown Media Family Networks president and CEO for the last 11 years, is exiting the company.  The announcement was made today by Mike Perry, president and CEO of Hallmark Cards Inc.

No successor has been named. “I have tremendous confidence in the Crown Media management team and, with this team in place, I will begin a search for Bill’s replacement,” Perry said. “I want to thank Bill for his many years of success and contributions to Crown Media and wish him continued success.”

Prior to the firestorm against the cable outlet for pulling the Zola ads, (after conservative group One Million Moms petitioned to have the ads removed) and the network complied, the company was doing well.

Abbott presided over a period of growth and visibility for Hallmark including: Christmas programming and regular opportunities for seasoned A-list stars that in return attracted viewers and ratings. Bill Abbott’s exit is the latest result of Hallmark’s efforts to quickly turn the page on the bad PR.

Deadline reported that according to people familiar with the internal discussions, many people at the network expressed their preference for restoring the ad quickly, while Abbott went against their wishes and kept it off the air.
