Photos: TV Guise Magazine

It’s so rare, but so welcome, to find the hardest working people and the hardest working genre getting some love from the mainstream press.  Now, next week’s upcoming double issue of TV Guide Magazine will feature all four daytime dramas and some of their current iconic couples on the cover!

The covers are a special edition and four different versions went to print.  Inside the magazine details some previews from the head writers and EP’s of the series as well of what’s to come in Genoa City, Port Charles, Los Angeles, and Salem.  Look for the edition to hit newsstands tomorrow on Thursday, August 12th.

The Bold and the Beautiful cover features Thorsten Kaye and Denise Richards as Ridge and Shauna.  Days of our Lives is represented by John and Marlena, played by Drake Hogesytn and Deidre Hall.

Meanwhile, The Young and the Restless has Victor and Nikki, played by Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott, and General Hospital has Maurice Benard and Laura Wright as Sonny and Carly,

The TV Guide Magazine double issue dates are August 17th-30th.

As fans of the soaps know, Y&R returned with new-episodes this Monday, B&B starred airing new ones a few backs, GH was back last week, and DAYS had new episodes in the bank till mid-October and is set to return to taping September 1.

In addition, it should be noted that The Bold and the Beautiful was the first American broadcast television show that went back into production during the coronavirus pandemic.

@ General Hospital : 1. Cyrus is STEALING – tHIS – show. ALL his underlying current, with ready smile. soaking in the denizen of Port Charles. first off, his ready natural smile, takes you. he delivers his lines, eloquently. @GH writers … make this work. alas, if it’s Sonny and nuJason heading this up… they already pale in comparison. Cyrus work with Jordan and Laura is entertaining. 2. Lindsay Hartley : NEW Sam.. AND am so smitten or bitten: ??? I find myself just staring… is this SAM? intrigued that nuSAM voice has nuance; intrigued that nuSAM facial expresses. HELLO… Read more »

I’m enjoying Cyrus , also. G.H. for too long has allowed Sonny to be the unbeatable mob boss who wipes out all competition. There is always confrontation ; no mob family ever freely gives up its territory without a true fight. General Hospital’s story is too one sided which makes it unreal for me. The only reason that I still watch is to help with the ratings. The show continues to be written one sided. So , give Sonny a run for his money , Cyrus!

I didn’t think TV guide still existed. Nice all four soaps got a cover. I guess someone still believe daytime soaps have a shot out there but after looking at the ratings this past week I slowly and sadly have come to the conclusion that all of the soaps may be gone in five years.

Tyra Banks Exiting ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Yesterday, Tyra Banks dropped a bombshell when speaking with a reporter from TMZ, while out for a stroll.

Banks shared that she’s not going to be returning as host of Dancing with the Stars, and has decided to focus on the business and entrepreneurial side of her career, plus producing behind the scenes entertainment projects.

This morning on Friday, Banks confirmed the news to Deadline.

Tyra had joined DTWTS in season 29 when she replaced longtime host, Tom Bergeron. She also became an executive producer of the reality-ballroom dance competition.

Last season, DWTS streamed exclusively on Disney Plus, and was taken off the ABC network.  During the last season, Tyra co-hosted the show with Alfonso Ribeiro, although she still presided over the ballroom competition.

Thus far, there has been no news of the next season of the series, although it’s expected to return.  In addition to Banks, dancer Mark Ballas along with the previously announced departure of dancer Cheryl Burke, leave the show with some shoes to fill.

Check out Tyra’s chat with TMZ below.

It’s time to put one less meal together on the stove!  Rachael Ray, who has been the star of her own daytime talk show/cooking series, is calling it quits after 17 years.

Ray shared: “In my more than 20 plus years in television, I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael, however, I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career.  My passions have evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution. I am truly excited to be able to introduce and develop new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms. That is why I am looking forward to putting all my energies into my recently announced production arm, Free Food Studios.  Thank you to all of our Rachael daytime show partners, crew, and affiliates, and the wonderful years we all worked together.”
