Two-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Tamara Braun is adding yet another daytime drama to her already impressive television resume with the news that she is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless.

For the initial report from PEOPLE, Tamara will be taking on a new role, that of Sienna Bacall, who is said to have “personal connections to several characters” in Genoa City. Braun will begin taping all-new episodes of The Young and the Restless after Labor Day, starting next week.

With Y&R’s tape to air schedule, look for Tamara to debut in Genoa City sometime in the fall, most likely in October. Most recently, Braun was seen on your screens on Peacock’s Days of our Lives where she reprised her Emmy-winning role of Ava Vitali.

Tamara first became soap-famous when she became the second Carly Corinthos on General Hospital replacing Sarah Brown in 2001-2005. Next, she headed to DAYS to play Ava Vitali in 2008. Then, she headed to All My Children and played Reese Williams from 2008-2009.

The popular actress returned to DAYS in 2011, now playing the role of Taylor Walker. Several years later, she reprised the role of Ava from 2015-2016, before heading back to General Hospital – this time to take on the role of Kim Nero, which won Braun her second Emmy. She played Kim from 2017-2019. Eventually, she made another return to Days of our Lives as Ava starting in 2020 and was last seen on the series earlier this year.

This marks the second recent former DAYS star and major talent acquisition for the Sony-owned, The Young and the Restless, which comes on the heels of Billy Flynn coming over to play a recast Cane Ashby, while departing his Salem role as Chad DiMera.

Now the question is, who will Tamara’s new GC alter-ego, Sienna, be linked to in story? Who would you like to see her paired with romantically? Happy about Tamara’s move to Y&R? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below.

Talk about a casting surprise! Tamara Braun continues to stay booked in American daytime, and that is amazing for her! “Sienna Bacall” is a very old-school soap name, and part of me thinks it could be a code name (like “Aristotle Dumas” was for Billy Flynn’s casting as Cane Ashby). But I am excited to see Braun shake it up on The Young and the Restless, a soap I have wanted her to join for decades.

Truthfully, the perfect time would have been 2005 as Victoria Newman or 2021 as Tara Locke (who I suspect “Sienna” might just be), but I look forward to seeing where this could potentially lead.

Tamara Braun is amazing actress and any show would be lucky to have her.

That said, does Y&R really need another female character in this age group?

No they don’t and I’m sure she can sit at a table and talk about a business that does not exist blah blah blah

As for the comments about her being Victoria Newman AH has done a fine job as Victoria so knock it off she was off the charts with Billy Miller and she deserved the Emmy’s for Delia’s death storyline and she stays off of politics which is refreshing to all of us who what strictly entertainment .

Please re-read Scott’s comment. He didn’t suggest Tamara could be a recast for Victoria. He said that she could have been a good recast for Victoria back when Heather Tom vacated the role in 2005. And I agree with you- AH is a damn good actress who can emote with the best of them. I think Scott was suggesting TB could be a solid recast for Tara Locke. That suggestion piqued my interest.

Very good, Linda!

Yep Harry you were right misread what a dummy . Sorry Scott.

She could read the phone book (or a Beyond Them Gates script) and I’d be riveted to my seat!! Love you Tamara!!!!!!

Dottie – if you haven’t learned by now, your racist whistles on “Beyond The Gates” don’t work and are not even amusing.

Normally, I’d request Michael to remove, but you need to see that this is the last time you’ll see something like this.

Grow up, or get out.

Michael Fairman and his staff have been trying to keep up with the removal of Dottie’s racist posts as I’ve seen some of them disappear. She’s been obsessed with Beyond the Gates since day one. With all the ugliness and hatefulness that is going on in our country right now, it’s beyond disheartening to see it bleeding into a discussion which is supposed to be about soaps—escapism we all need right now.

I appreciate the open platform used on this site for comments. Unfortunately, sometimes that allows a bad egg or two to sneak in.

I’ve pointed some out to Michael in the past and he’s quick to remove the racist post (which also removes any replies to it). Wish there was some way to permanently ban those posters, but kudos to MF for following through.

Of course you’d make a racist joke with the Gates‘ title, per usual.

Could she be audras mother?

Nah, I don’t see that happening.

Hmm !!! My guess is that she’s working with Caine? And also somehow connected to the Abbotts and the Newman’s.
This is just my theory!

Don’t waste another talent, Y&R!

Honestly I was just about ready after years to take restless off the dvr but now they are dragging me back to staying because I could watch Tamara read the phone book ! Loved her on days

This may bring me back to Y&R. She’s good.

Unfortunately as talented as she is, she will be yet another victim of Josh Griffith’s horrible writing. The last thing we need is more people cast in this age bracket sitting around talking about taking over each other’s companies.

Take a clue from Beyond the Gates, Y&R. Fire Josh Griffith asap.

The Young and the Restless is performing in both demos and ratings, which is what the suits at CBS care about. Unless those begin significantly dipping, there is no reason (from their point of view) to remove Josh Griffith from his positions as executive producer/head writer.

I love Tamara!!! I’m just concerned that the show just killed off three male contemporary actors of her age (ish) with the span of Chance, Damien, and Cole. There could be some great chemistry with Joshua Morrow/Nick but he seems to be headed back towards Sharon. I would like to see a return of Ronan, but he was kind of mentioned one time recently with the passing of Chance by Jill. Having a triangle of Sienna, Ronan, and Phyllis might be an option. Or maybe Sienna is Phyllis’ sister Avery and then there could be a return of Dylan (recast obviously). There are possibilities. I just hope they recognize the gem of casting Tamara, and hopefully this is a good sign that the show is moving away from coffee and drinks conversations for all of the “drama”.

Love TB! I would have wanted her to play Tara Locke, but unless they bring Summer back also, I don’t think that makes sense right now. I could also see her playing Avery. For some reason, I don’t think she’s playing a new character but is a recast for a previous character.
