Teresa Castillo Returns To General Hospital On August 21st Episode!

General Hospital’s Teresa Castillo (Sabrina Santiago) is back taping episodes at the ABC soap opera following her maternity leave and the birth of her daughter Victoria! Now comes word that the actress will be seen on-air on the August 21st episode of GH when Sabrina returns to the canvas.
The new mom told Soap Opera Digest about her return to the daytime drama: “I’m excited to see what Ron (Carlivati, head writer), has planned for the next chapter in Sabrina’s journey.”
So what do you think will be the next story for Sabrina? Rumors have been that she will become involved with a new man in Port Charles, other than Patrick (Jason Thompson).
If that rumor proves true, who do you think should be the next romantic interest for Sabrina? Let us know!
I hope she brings Carrrrrrlos, with her!
WHY??????????????
Sabrina Maria Dominica Santiago needs a hot Puerto Rican or hot Cuban guy..
Patrick is too old and dry for her; Patrick is like a male old maid housewife..
Sabrina is good to be rid of Patrick.. (she is young and sizzling)
She needs to get herself some young hot! stuff !
I agree; why? HA! One newbie ousted, let’s start on the others-no explanation needed-Levi, Kiki, etc.
I agree about bring back Carlos for Sabrina, as Patrick has no chemistry with Sabrina.
I agree. I only liked her with Carlos. I wouldn’t mind seeing those two together if she must return. I know the cast is more bloated than I am after a night of Margaritas and Mexican food, but I actually liked them together, otherwise I have no use for Theresa. Haven’t missed her a bit.
Agreed. And where has poor Carlos been all these months anyway? Still languishing in jail?
While I am happy for Teresa, I am just not missing Sabrina or her neediness for having Patrick in her life. I hope that the Sabrina who returns is stronger, and less man hungry than she was prior. Dirty her up a bit, she’s too vanilla.
I agree with every word…im going to give…reluctantly… Sabrina another chance…to see if they will take the character in another direction and make her a bit stronger like you said…
The actress does a good job, I think. Hopefully, she will be a little stronger. She’s the opposite of Robin, which I thought was good for the Patrick Drake character. She’s not “in your face,” righteous, or sanctimonious. I like Sabrina’s friendship with Felix.
I don’t know why anyone thinks Sabrina is needy. She is genuine, loving and real. When Patrick dumped her…she wasn’t needy…she was rightfully heartbroken…gave him an ultimatum/choice…and she survived. When Britt tried to sabotage her nursing exams…she came back and fought. Laura was and still is “nice.” She’s a homebody…she was a victim…and came alive when she went along on Luke’s adventures. But she wasn’t a Carly, Ava, Connie, Brenda, Olivia…she was…nice.
I think soaps need nice characters to contrast with the complex agenda-ridden ones. Lila Q was “nice.” And no, I’m not comparing Sabrina to Laura and Lila as being on the same scale as these legacy characters…but before they were legacy…they were…nice!
I think it’ll be interesting to see where they take her…and with whom.
@rebecca1…..Once again, I challenge the notion that Sappy’s “niceness” is what turns-offs so many viewers….there is a vast difference between “nice” and “bland” (or simply otherwise, “useless!”) And that is where the others you mention set themselves apart. Lila Q. was a beloved member of a core Port Charles family and was portrayed with warmth, charm and class by a truly venerable actress with an impressive list of big and small screen credits…Anna Lee was a consummate professional who contributed so much in terms of talent and stagecraft to the show, as well as personified the gracious, loving matriarch of a family that was integral to GH for decades…that she is still so highly regarded years after her passing is a tribute in itself to this remarkable and beloved actress. Ditto for Genie Francis! Despite being of a tender age and cast in the role of ingénue, she arrived to the GH canvas well-trained with an established acting family pedigree and took the soapworld by storm as the daughter of Dr. Lesley Faulkner (Webber)—-another popular character. Hence, even before the L&L phenomenon launched, GF was making her mark in Port Charles….the star-crossed romance with Luke just sealed the deal and exploded into a once-in-a-lifetime star turn for both of them. So to even mention these iconic ladies and their immeasurable contributions to GH with a completely lackluster, marginal dayplayer who after nearly two years has yet to catch fire with the public is a complete disservice to those other soap “stars.” I know you said that you were not comparing these veterans’ lofty status to Sappy’s lowly one, but even taking that into account, I think there is such a chasm between these two leading legends and their immeasurable talents and that silly gnat of a nurse that she doesn’t even deserve to be included in the same sentence! All I am saying is that this charmless character has been given more than ample opportunity to capture the audience’s imagination, and it has not happened, and it never will….there is no charisma, personality or underlying appeal to Sobby, and simply being “nice” certainly doesn’t warrant an ongoing place for this gormless git of a girl who has no real ties to anyone in Port Charles. There was absolutely no good reason for her return.
@Shay the only good thing about the character coming back to GH for me would be your posts on the character. They are much more enjoyable and entertaining then the show is for me. 🙂
Haha Shay. Remember “Field of Dreams”…call them and they will come? If I’m ever looking for you…all I have to do is mention Sabrina and I know you’ll come to the board…
For all your lofty presentation/rebuttal you’ll never swing me over to the “Sappy” side. And I don’t hold either Lila or Laura…or the actresses who portrayed them…in any higher esteem than any other soap actor I like. Yeah, they were long-standing beloved characters. They were integral to the GH canvas. So???
Teresa Castillo is fine in the role. Sabrina was met with hostility from Patrick/Robin fans and didn’t stand a chance no matter what dynamic she portrayed. The fact that they did the goofy Ugly Betty route didn’t help the character. If she had been introduced as the woman she became the non-fans wouldn’t see her as the too youngish damsel in always-distress.
There are those who, like me, didn’t experience that disdain. I held that for Britt. I always root for the underdog…and I felt immediate empathy for Sabrina and frustration at Patrick not seeing how ugly she was to Sabrina.
Without rehashing storyline, I don’t miss the character, but I don’t dread her return. I’m open to see where they take her character and with whom, as I said above. She’ll either stay nice ala Lila and Laura but be given a more compelling story to play…or they’ll turn her bitter and she may go from Sappy to gun mol. LOL. Don’t know. If for no other reason she exists to keep you and I connected… LOL
And delete one of those LOL’s…One too many. Your choice.
@rebecca1…..Well, they always say if you don’t want an answer to a question, then don’t ask in the first place!!! As long as this loathsome lass is a topic of discussion, then she will continue to incur my wrath! (Besides, when I do hold my thoughts on this particular person, someone calls me out, so either way I end up voting “present!” LOL…) At any rate, it’s highly apparent that we are both quite firmly planted in our respective anti/pro Sappy camps, and equally doubtful that we’ll ever change each others’ minds…but then again, I honestly wouldn’t want it any other way! Even though we are frequently like chalk and cheese, you are one of my most enjoyable sparring partners….so when we have an occasional moment of agreement, well, that makes it all the sweeter….and more remarkable! (Accordingly, on that subject, I do concur that Detective Sexy Pants has markedly improved in his presentational skills, even though I do not find him to be nearly as drool-worthy as you—-and apparently millions of others—-do! He’s just not my usual type!) Having said that, we part company on the notion of whom deserves more credit and respect when it comes to soap opera casts….under no circumstance could I ever hold a dreadful neophyte who can barely spit out her lines, convincingly emote on cue or even walk and chew gum at the same time in the same esteem as the actresses who played Lila or Laura, or by extension, any renowned soap vet, such as an Anthony Geary, Jane Eliot, Ilene Kristen, et al. Those great talents have long toiled at and perfected their craft and made considerable contributions to the daytime genre on a par that this marginal miss never can or will. It’s been nearly two long years since TC’s awkward annoyance of a nurse first blighted Port Charles, and unlike the previously mentioned (and initially much-mocked) Ryan Paevy, there has been no discernible difference for the better in her dramatic abilities since that time…she has remained stilted and unable to handle heavy scenes, as well as demonstrated no palpable charisma or chemistry with any other character. Those are valid criticisms and so in that respect, I don’t consider Sobby to be “fine” in any way, shape or form. She is quite simply, inadequate, and that has very little to do with a goofy, immature debut persona, Patrick/Robin fan resistance or variety of other excuses that Sappy defenders utilize. I am convinced that even if the role had been configured in any of a myriad of possibilities, my reaction would have been the same, because there is a complete lack of potential on the part of the portrayer. She simply is not up to the task, and therein lies the greatest reason for my ongoing contempt of all things Sobby….what grabs me in a character is an actor’s ability to take them–and us–to an interesting and exciting place, regardless of their status as an underdog, villain, hero, etc…and that’s what has been totally missing in this particular case. There has been no growth, connection, or evidence of that indispensable and elusive “Q” quality that makes for an appealing, endearing and everlasting soap mainstay….there is simply a huge, empty void where a character is supposed to be. Hence, no matter what possible changes the showrunners have in store for this abysmal albatross of an “ingénue”, they won’t serve to create any more favorable impression than their previous efforts have….that die has already been cast and is unlikely to ever be amended. Unfortunately, it appears that whatever comes down the pike for Sappy and the viewers, we are sadly stuck with her for the foreseeable future, and as such, all I can add is that there certainly will be more debates like this between the two of us, rebecca1, and I, for one, cannot wait! Despite our many differences of opinion, it is ALWAYS a delight to compare and contrast our points of view with you!!!!!! P.S. To be continued…….
Looks like I go out and buy my brick on the 20th!
I think Sabrina/Nathan/Maxi would be fun. Honestly hoping we will actually get a back story for Sabrina. Hope her return renews my interest in GH because right now I am deleting more then I am watching.
I also wrote sometime ago that Sabrina and Nathan will be paired…Maxi marries Levi so im sure Nathan will drown his sorrows in liquor and meet Sabrina at some bar…hope he doesnt cry over Maxi…we dont want to warp wooden boy…lol
Sabrina and Nathan? They would cancel each other out. That would be like pairing up white out with white out.
Really? I think Sabrina and Nathan are a breath of fresh air in a very stagnant and predictable show full. I also think a hot triangle with the younger set is very needed right now!! Don’t think you have much to worry about since it seems RC has no interest in really writing for Sabrina anyway…
We could just go to Home Depot and buy a new “Nathan!”
I think Ryan Paevy has turned into a very good actor. His speech went from clipped, monotone and calculated to extremely casual and authentic. From his expressive eyes to his likeable demeanor…he’s really come a long way in a very short time. Glad they kept him on.
I’ve never cared much for the Maxie character, so I don’t see the spark between Maxie and Nathan. I do like Nathan, though. I think Nathan would be great with a hot, sexy character who has a lot of spark. Who that would be, not sure…?
The words “fun” and “Sappy” are mutually exclusive! She is a completely charmless character with a total lack of charisma….other than Levi, I can think of no male on the show who would deserve the awful fate of being paired with her….the rest are all far too good for her! Particularly Nathan….if you thought there was a mutiny over shoving her together with Patrick, just wait and see what happens if they attempt to force a duo with the presumptive Cassadine heir. Yet another extremely gross mismatch just waiting to go down in flames…..
Teresa Castillo (Sabrina) is way different in her other works, she is even funny..
She was cast as an ugly duckling, bad move from the start..
She was tied to boring goody two shoes Patrick and that did her no good..
Patrick does nothing but be be good and even when he is on screen he is just there..
I hope when she returns that she will have a change.. I would like to see Teresa be given a lively adventurous role to play..
Sabrina needs a darker side that comes out every now and then..
I do feel the old Sabrina is gone and now that she is free of Patrick she will rock !!
I hope she brings a gangsta back with her to kick Patrick’s ass ..
both Sabrina and Patrick need a different persona..
Frank, I have a sick headache.
harry..
Sabrina might come back a hot and wild stripper … heh ..
whatever, I see a big change a comin’ ..
She should not be with anyone. No chemistry with any of the characters while she was on the show for over 1.5 years. TPTB need to get rid of Sabrina already. She is not even related to any character on the show. I truly do not understand why they are wasting airtime on a useless character.
Because many of us actually like her character! Loved her with Emma, love her friendship with Felix, can’t wait to see what’s next.
I’m with you on that I love gh…
Oh, joy. (/Sarcasm)
Exactly
I am glad she is back, she is a very underrated actress..She got so much hate because of the whole “Scrubs” ending…In in my opinion, I never really care for Robin or the actress that played her..I could take her or leave her!
I am sure that Ron’s writing regime will give the character a new direction..Make her Tracy’s long lost daughter..Paired her with Sonny, to make her his jealous young girl toy while he yearns for Carly!
I really hope she and Patrick aren’t paired up again… To be honest, I don’t see a point for this character, I barely noticed she was gone because of how unimportant to story she is… Sabrina is just one more character to write for on a show with an already bloated cast. She is definitely not needed, and neither is Carlos.
Touche’, Jimmy!!!!! This she-me is one of the most pointless characters EVER to trod the Port Charles canvas….it was such sweet relief to see her go. Why there is this inexplicable obsession to bring her back, I’ll never comprehend. The only acceptable storyline for Sappy would be to disappear (permanently) over the Bermuda Triangle during her return flight on AirJuanOne! And speaking of, will the illustrious “Juan” be escorting his worthless cousin back( to where she is neither wanted nor needed) with his usual flourish and fanfare????? Just wondering……
Micheal Quartermain.
Teresa Castillo (Sabrina) is ‘young’ beautiful, great body, good actress..
They need to sex her up, dirty her up a bit, and pair her with a hot Latino guy.. !!
Patrick was too old for her and came with a trunk of baggage..
I really like the actress. I think she was given a weak story line . Unfortunately, she was written to break up a beloved super couple. As much as I love Scrubs. I honestly would like their story to end since Kimberly wants to pursue other projects. Maybe, if the character of Sabrina is written with the life change of loosing a child, potential family and future husband . She will be more deep and interesting. Hopefully, whoever she is paired with will provide her with an interesting storyline. I don’t mind her character with Patrick, if they write it where they truly have a future and Emma has a family. More importantly, give us a story worth watching!!!! Just help us out with ridding us of LEVI…… Give anyone else airtime:). Bring back Spinelli!!!!
Sabrina was never written to break up Patrick and Robin..
She had very little to with their ending..
Robin came back to Patrick, Sabrina was not involved thereafter breaking them up….
Robin left to save Jason, that also had nothing to with Sabrina breaking them up, Robin broke them up 🙂
and-
da`Dunkleman ROCKS!! .. 🙂
@su00000….I never presume to speak for anyone but myself…..actually, that has generally been your m.o., and I have taken you to task for it more than once. However, it is pretty obvious that my negative responses to the few Sappy sycophants that tend to prop her up on this website are certainly not the only ones, nor are those found by numerous others on many GH topic boards. Quite frankly, Sobby is not that beloved contrary to what you (and her handlers…) may opine, and furthermore, she really has not seemed to have been missed, as has often been stated right here ….I have witnessed no great clamoring for her return….except mainly by those in charge who continue to force her fictional existence on the rest of us.
Since you mentioned Levi, I have to ask if anyone has considered the possibility that he could be related to Ellie? They are both gingers, and yesterday it was touched upon that he seems hellbent on preventing Maxi from reuniting with her daughter. Could it be that a brother is helping his sister hang on to her man and his child???? That would actually make sense as a motive for Levi’s devious behavior….we all know he is up to something, but what? No other plausible explanation for his deception seems forthcoming….and we never did get a handle on Ms. Trout’s mysterious background. We have to assume “The Dumbster” has some sort of purpose, although it is no clearer now than when he initially arrived on the scene.
Jin….You say that you hope a future pairing will provide your girl with some depth and interest, and that is precisely the problem with this actress and her character….she has none of her own!!! Over the past few years, Sobby was completely dependent upon everyone else to support her with even the smallest scintilla of a storyline, purpose and personality….she demonstrated absolutely no ability to create any magic through her own accord. That does not make for a soap opera success and by now this should be highly apparent to the clueless showrunners who continue to insist upon imposing this insipid waste of time and space on the GH viewers.
Shay..
that is only your opinion don’t talk for all ..
there are 2.5 estimate viewers and you have no idea what they all like or not..
I for one like Sabrina and the character has numerous fans/a following..
Teresa Castillo (Sabrina) is a good actress and many, yes many, are looking forward to her return ..
GH has become very successful and that is due to the ”showrunners” (and talented cast)
🙂 “)
I would like to see Sabrina with somebody other than Patrick or Carlos. Patrick will always love Robin in my opinion and will never be happy with another woman. That Carlos is a real loser and a scroundrel. I am glad he is gone.
Other than the fact that Carlos was in the mob…”other than that ‘little’ fact”…he loves Sabrina with all his heart. He offered to raise his baby as his own…he went to jail rather than have Ava go after her…he broke MY heart with his love for her. I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. Other characters have been redeemed…or at least have some redeemable qualities. Might be a good pairing…
HER baby
Tracy said something like ‘The Quartimaine name used to mean something; i guess it doesnt mean much anymore.’ Sorry, i might not got it down correctly but somehow i believe that line was deliberately written, and we know why!!!
Not missing Sabrina. And Levi needs to go.
Never have understood all the Sabrina hate. Ron created a nice character to live a fairy tale storyline – the “ugly duckling” gets the handsome prince. We knew from the get go of that that Robin was alive so there wasn’t really any tension and Sabrina’s storyline was carefully paced so that Patrick would have something to do in Robin’s absence (I mean, other than be a junkie) and Robin’s return would result in a soapy moment (dead wife returns just in time to break up the wedding of her husband). I thought it was all done more or less well and I have always been more or less indifferent to Sabrina (whereas, for example, I hated Felix the moment he appeared and he just got more and more Gladys Kravitz as time went by, but I digress).
I have to admit that I haven’t really noticed that Sabrina has been gone and no one on the show has mentioned her very much (or at least it hasn’t registered with me very much).
and even Laura and Lila were new once and without the writing team trying out new characters (or old archetypes) we would never have the Patricks and Liz’s and Sam’s and Sonny’s Or the Luke Spencer’s. or Lucy Coe’s… etc. Not every character introduced is going to have the staying power of these examples, but I’d rather that they try than be stuck with the same three characters (at one time, this was the Sonny/Carly/Jason show).
Hey, Ron and Frank got rid of Jason, orangeSteve and that twit Spinelli. Everything else is gravy (although to be fair, Spinelli did become tolerable in the Maxie/Ellie storyline).
Andrew…I agree with everything you’ve said and if you’ve ever read any of my posts you’ll see a parallel with what we’ve each written.
Where I disagree is I liked Jason, Steve and Spinelli. Miss em all on the canvas…

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
