Week 8 of The Bachelorette featuring Becca Kufrin, included the all important ‘hometowns” where she “meets the parents” of the four men she has chosen to be in the running for the final rose. They are Garrett, Blake, Colton, and Jason.
The set-up has: Garrett bringing home a woman to meet his family for the first time since his divorce, Blake revealing a haunting secret from his high school days, Jason trying to open himself up and catch up to the other guys with their professions of love, and Colton bringing home a woman for the first time to meet his family.

And on that .. here we go: In Central California, we learn Garrett grew up in an agricultural family-owned business, as he drives Becca around in his lap on a tractor, which she likes! Next, Garrett and Becca meet up with his parents and siblings. His older sister is frantically worried and in tears that he could get hurt again and she doesn’t want to see that happen. Garrett’s dad and mom separately plead with Becca to not hurt Garrett as he was torn apart by his divorce. The odd thing: while everyone is concerned around him, Garrett just keeps smiling. Guess that his constant positive nature illustrates nothing much affects him? Who would love to see the guy have one meltdown to show he is human? Raise your hands!
Next, Becca journeys to Buffalo to enter a chicken wing eating contest with Jason. Her favorite kisser (as she constantly reminds us how much she loves his kisses), also shows off his hockey prowess at the hockey rink, which kind of turns on Becca, we think? When the duo next head to meet the family, Jason lets us know that he admires his brother’s relationship to his partner, and his parents long-lasting marriage. When he sat down with his brother, Jason got a warning that you better move fast now and tell her how you feel, because time is fleeting. With that, after they left the parent’s house, Jason admitted he is in love with Becca. She smiles. What can she do? She can’t admit she does, or doesn’t at this point. Awkward!

On to Blake and his family in Colorado. Blake, who was a high school football star, takes Becca back to his old stomping grounds, where if you recall his mother also works and where she met his former teacher and coach. But the main reason we are at his high school is that he reveals that a school shooting took place there, and it had impacted the person he has become. Becca takes that intel in, but not sure how much that changes anything in his favor, or not. Next, Blake walks her to the school auditorium where a ton of people are watching and listening to a performance by Betty Who! So, who Betty, you ask? Becca’s favorite singer! Now, just how did Blake know that?

Last up is Colton, who also is from Colorado. This was not easy for Becca. Colton’s father came at her with if: she has discussed her previous relationship with Arie enough with his son. He also questioned her about how she felt about Colton’s past with Tia, and the reveal that his son was virgin. Guess all that could cause a girl to run the other way! After the family get-together, Colton tells Becca he loves her. So now, all four men have virtually said they “love” Becca. What more could a girl ask for?!

Knowing she has to send one guy packing, she enlists her “Bachelor” gal pals: Tia, Bekah, Sienne, Kendall and Caroline to consult on her decision. But things take a turn when Tia asks to speak to Becca privately. Alone, she tells Becca she still has feelings for Colton, and it makes her “sick” thinking of Becca with him/cut to the gals who share the gossip of Tia’s text messages that she has sent them saying she is “sick” over Colton and Becca.
At the rose ceremony, no surprise. Colton is the odd man out. He is devastated, but Becca feels she made the right choice.
So, would you have given Colton the boot at this juncture? Of the men remaining ,who do you think will be the final two vying for Becca’s heart? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
