THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Bill Stumbles Upon an Alive Li!

Courtesy/CBS

We knew, and the audience knew, that at some point, this has got to happen, and on Thursday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, it did!

Li (Naomi Matsuda), who was believed-to-be-dead after her car exploded and went into the waters below – with her in it – has resurfaced and she is alive, but clearly not in a good shape.

The person who should come across her is none other than Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Bill is walking in the back alley near Il-Giardino, when he hears a woman groaning in pain laying face down in the trash.  When he gets a little closer, the cameras pan to reveal it is Li in very bad shape.

Meanwhile, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) had just informed Finn (Tanner Novlan) that Li lost control of her car and perished with it in the water. Finn is horrified and devastated.  He is getting even a clearer picture, if that’s even possible, of all the lies and manipulations that have gone on since his ‘presumed’ death and just how dangerous (as if he needed another reminder) that Sheila is!

In addition, Taylor (Krista Allen) gets a phone call from Monaco that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) has checked herself into a mental health care facility for depression and grief. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) are there with Taylor, and hear the news.  Taylor asks about Steffy’s children.  The doctor assures her that the children are with Steffy at the facility which is more like a home.

So, what did you think of Bill tripping upon Li? How do you think Li ended up in the trash? Did Mike Guthrie (Ken Hanes) put her there? Did Li find her way to land and land in the trash? Share your theories below, but first check out yesterday’s B&B cliffhanger below.

So relieved – I was not happy at all when she was “killed” and was hoping she would be alive.

She looked like a refugee from an Akira Korosawa samurai movie! (;

Naomi Matsuda has been so great on B&B this year! (:

So glad Bill found Li, but it was not in an alley behind Ill Giardino which is in L.A but Li went in the bay and Bill and his son went to a new Seafood restaurant where Bill found Li in their backalley, probably while going to his car. Who ever wrote the story should watch the show so they can get their comments straight.

The look on Liam’s face when he saw Li was priceless. Now maybe we’ll get somewhere.

So funny when Bill got Finn to Monaco and he and Ridge trying to be civil to each other.

Violet…The only thing that bothered me was Finn and Bill left Li alone with Shelia to get to Bill’s plane leaving for Monaco. They could have waited an extra few minutes until the police came to arrest Shelia. Now she’s free again. Boy, it would be nice to have the money to own your own plane.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: What Did You Think of Steffy and Finn’s Highly-Anticipated Reunion?

On Monday and Tuesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) finally was reunited with her husband, Finn (Tanner Novlan).

As the story goes, Steffy has fallen into a deep depression and took off to Monaco.  Set against the backdrop of Monte Carlo, a very much alive Finn searches for her. After some false starts, they see each other for the first time outside a cathedral.  What followed was sweeping epic music, hugs, kisses, and tears as Steffy was trying to comprehend that the man she saw Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) shoot a bullet through never actually died.

Now, where the story gets a bit glossed over is when they get back to the hotel. Finn explains that he wouldn’t have made it, if it wasn’t for his mom, Li (Naomi Matsuda).  Steffy wonders if Li knew Finn was alive, why wouldn’t she tell her?  Finn tells Steffy that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) found them and things went down hill from there, but doesn’t get into any grisly details. When Steffy has some questions, Finn just wants to relish the moment, and promises he will never be apart from her ever again.

Next, Taylor (Krista Allen) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) arrive with the children, Kelly and Hayes, and the Finnegan/Forrester clan are back together again, against all odds, complete with epic music and slo-motion.

Throughout this story arc, kudos has to go to Tanner Novlan. Without his emotional performances and the viewers investing in Finn’s freedom from the hands of Sheila, this would not have played the same.

So, what did you think of the Sinn reunion?  Do you think it holds up with the other classic B&B couple reunions? Did it fall flat in the explanation from Finn to Steffy of where he has been all this time, or do you think the key points were on-point and you were reaching for the hankies, anyways? Share your thoughts in the comment section, but first watch the final scene from Tuesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful below.

General Hospital’s Maura West Delivers The ‘Power Performance of the Week’

On last Thursday and Friday’s episode of General Hospital, the ABC soap opera finally moved the story forward with the reveal to Ava (Maura West) that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Esme (Avery Pohl) slept together, and within it, fans got to witness the beginning of the fallout and the reaction as played by three-time Daytime Emmy-winner and enduring fan favorite, Maura West.

As one might expect, the material in the hands of the mighty West, and the acting choices she makes are always intriguing and masterful.

In story, things start to unravel for Ava, when outside Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) courtroom trial, Esme and Ava have a confrontation.  It is there that Esme snarks at Ava, that she has the ability to destroy her world.  When Ava dares her to try, Nikolas shows up on the scene begging Esme to stop.  However, a manipulative Esme says, “Too late, I’m ending this right here, right now.” After lighting the fire, Esme walks off telling Nikolas to have a nice chit chat with his wife.

Next, Ava and Nikolas go to a private office, and Nikolas tells her that he made a huge mistake. A now suspicious Ava, asks, “What kind of mistake?” Nikolas then goes on to explain how he slept with Esme, just once, when he thought his relationship with Ava had tanked and had suffered irreparable damage.

What comes after was where West shined, as a sarcastic Ava quipped, “Poor you, seduced by a high school graduate.”  Ava, then launches into that she thought she married a man, but instead she married a spineless weakling, and now she is going to burn him to the ground.

Later at Wyndemere, as Esme is frantically packing her suitcase and taking with her the all-important envelope linking her to Ryan (Jon Lindstrom), Ava appears and a confrontation begins with Ava calling out Esme as a, “conniving little whore”. Esme flaps back that Ava slept with both Morgan and Sonny (Maurice Benard)! Having put two and two together, Ava says she know that Esme is responsible for the revenge sex tape of Cameron (Willian Lipton) and Joss (Eden McCoyand setting fire to her car.

Ava has wised up from all of Esme’s nasty statements and has come to realize that everything Esme has done including sleeping with Nikolas, feels like a targeted, planned attack on her, and she knows there is more to this story than Esme has ever let on.  When Ava spots the envelope in Esme’s suitcase, she goes to get it, but Esme grabs it from her. Then, with a steely warning, Ava tells Esme that she will be going to the courthouse now to exonerate Trina, and if she doesn’t, Ava will make sure Esme disappears and no one will ever be able to find her alive.

Now, while some viewers may be waiting for a knock-down drag-out catfight, we don’t know what will happen on Monday or Tuesday’s episode, but sometimes it’s more delicious just letting the words and its intentions drive the action, and West delivered the goods in spades in scenes with Marcus Coloma and Avery Pohl.

For all the reasons stated above, Michael Fairman TV names Maura West’s work as The Power Performance of the Week.

What did you think of Maura’s performance in the scenes where Ava finds out Nikolas slept with Esme and Ava’s confrontation later with Esme? What do you hope happens next?  Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.  But firstm check out some moments from West’s performance below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Finn and Li are Reunited

On Wednesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, the CBS daytime drama moved the story forward in a major way.

While Finn (Tanner Novlan) was trying to outwit Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), he tells his bio-mom that she can’t keep him prisoner anymore and that he is going to walk out of this situation, and get back to his wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and his son, Hayes.

Elsewhere, Li (Naomi Matsuda) has finally been able to put more than two words together, and tells both Liam (Scott Clifton) and Bill (Don Diamont) that Finn is alive.  She even details how she signed her son’s death certificate, and secretly whisked him away to a safe place to nurse him back to health and keep him away from Sheila.  Li also recounts to the Spencer men, how Sheila found her with Finn, and how she ultimately lost control of her car and landed in a fiery crash into the water.  Bill puts two and two together, as does Liam, and they realize Li is telling the truth.  Next, Bill asks Li if she knows where Finn and Sheila are, and off they go to save Finn.

Later, Finn has taken out all of his IV’s and such, and begins to walk out of his room and towards the front door, as Sheila watches in desperation. Just then, Bill bursts through the door and sees for himself – Sheila and Finn.  Next, Bill steps out of the way and Li is at the door.  Li and Finn are overcome with emotion as Li runs to her son, and says “Finn! Thank God! Oh my God!” At the same time, Li shoots daggers at Sheila, who begins to hyperventilate.

The loving mother and son are finally reunited, but what will happen next?  All we know is that we watched a hankie-inducing moment in the story played to the hilt by Tanner Novlan and Naomi Matsuda.

Watch the final moments from today’s B&B below.

Now weigh-in: What did you think of the performances of Tanner Novlan, Kimberlin Brown, and Naomi Matsuda? Let us know in the comment section.
