THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Hope Moves On In Kim Matula's Final Episode!

Today was the final episode of Kim Matula, who for over four years has been front and center on the The Bold and the Beautiful as the younger heroine of the show, Hope Logan Spencer.

B&B did an exceptional job in production of incorporating the elements  of slow motion camera looks, music, edits, montages, story and performance to wrap-up in short order Matula’s exit story throughout the entire week. SPOILER ALERT: If you have not watched today’s episode do not read any further.

In story, after losing her and Wyatt’s (Darin Brooks) unborn baby due to a terrible tumble down the stairs at the Forrester mansion, Hope comes back to the scene of the incident which occurred after a fight with her mother-in-law Quinn (Rena Sofer).  Liam (Scott Clifton), who has been there every step of the way for Hope, finds his star-crossed love, and the two have a simple, yet meaningful talk.  Hope tells Liam, she will always love him, but that she is going away to Milan to see her mother Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).  She needs time to heal from all she has been through.  And as to when she is coming back, Liam comes to understand he may not see her again for quite some time.

Elsewhere, Wyatt is devastated and guilt-ridden that he not only lost his unborn son, but probably his wife Hope as well, and really lays into his mother for her over-protectiveness, something he then says he should have done for Hope!  Quinn even goes so far as to consider jumping from the Quinn Artisan warehouse rooftop and committing suicide as Bill (Don Diamont) happens upon the scene encouraging her to do so!

In the end, with one last montage, several glances, and plenty emotion, Hope and Liam share one last moment as Hope walks away … and in a symbolic moment … vanishes.

Kudos throughout the week have to go to the performances of Kim Matula, Scott Clifton and Darin Brooks who all stepped up to the plate and played the beats of this long-enduring triangle.

You can watch the final moments of today’s episode below! Then let us know, did you like how things were left between Hope and Liam?  What did you think of the ending? Comment below!

I wish her well, but I am so THANKFUL that I will not have to see those flashbacks of all the weddings and romantic moments in every other episode. 🙂

I wished the writer would finally allow Hope and Liam to marry. Some people need to know true love actually can exist living happily.

Totally agree!!!!

Oh come on! True Love??? How true was the love when Liam sulked because Hope couldn’t have dinner with him the night before their wedding so he goes out with Steffy. How true was the love when he kissed Steffy while engaged to Hope?? How true was the love when he didn’t even bother to find out why Hope had to break their engagement – no, he gives Steffy the ring straightaway and the meekly agrees when she turns up dressed for a wedding with a celebrant in tow. Liam has been so weak and then so interfering in recent eipisodes. Poor Ivy.

i love kim. i wish she and scott get a happy ending

Ditto… I hate the endless flashbacks!

I would like to know the name of the song when Hope walked away from Liam to go t Milan. This was a great episode.

Try shazam , the listening songs from all speakers , type computer, television and more.

I’m from Sweden and years old if you don’t understand.
//Julia 🙂 <3

Me2 eish tht song made me wanna b on de B&B,,pls name of de artist nd song

Did you find the name of the song,? please tell me if you did

No I never did find out the name of the song. Would love to know.

I wish Kim good luck with whatever she does but it was time to for Hope to go. Brad Bell have gone way over the top in the Lope and then HOTT storyline it just got too boring listening to Hope and her selfish ways the way she left WyAtt straight after baby loss was selfish of Hope she was only thinking of herself and the fact Liam didn’t return the I love you too when she said it to him. So glad Liam may care about Hope but in there final moments you could tell he was not in love with her anymore. I hope Brad Bell spares us any resurrection of Lope ever again most boring couple in Daytime. If there was a recast of Hope it should be HOTT that get together

I agree. The way she left leaving wyatt. Not being there for him like he was for heR,how disrepectable. Hope needs to stay with wyatt and love him and respect him like he deserves. Liam move on. I hate hope and liam together. Move on with them. Tired of hope and liam

Hope should have said goodbye to Wyatt and tell him that she need time to grieve for the lost of there baby but I still love you so don’t give up on me

The writers, editors really performed a miracle. I liked the way it ended. Hope disappeared like she was a figment of Liam’s imagination. They were able to release Liam from Lope with very little baggage to take forward from that scene. He never said he loved Hope for all the times she declared her love for him. It was as clean an exit and end to Lope as was possible. A minor miracle. Here is hoping we can turn the page to the next chapter of Bold and Beautiful and close the book on the Hope chapter for a while.

That would be a miracle she need to stay with her husband and closed the chapter on Liam for good

I am so sad to see Kim Matula leaving. I am glad the final scenes acknowledged that Hope and Liam still loved each other and should be together. I found it odd that Hope just walked off and vanished in her final scene.

It is time to started anew chapter with Wyatt

I loved the ending. Hope recognized she needed physical and emotional healing. When the new Hope returns, refreshed. I am hoping The writers allow Hope and LIAM together one and for all (no games )

Not going to happen keep Liam away from her he needs to be with ivy

I don’t think so. Liam and Hope have loved each other from the start! They were manipulated and other people got involved like Ivy and Wyatt who should not of been in their lives.

She will not be missed.Find another actress to fill the role.

thank you.

Robert…y-e-s…as in a W-A-Y BETTER ACTRESS!!!!! And…I (also) will N-O-T miss Kim Matula!!!!! SAYONARA!!!!!!

I wish Kim Matula the best of luck in future. The producers of B&B did an EXCELLENT job of closing the Hope – Liam-Wyatt storyline! The final scene with Hope and Liam was wonderful… It brought everything full circle. Although I’m sure Hope will be brought back in at a later time, this role will ALWAYS belong to Ms. Matula. Thank you for four wonderful years, Kim, and good luck!

I will miss the Hope and liam dynamic of the show I so wished they could have played their love but I realize love is boring on soaps. If they recast they will have to find a real player because what Hope and Liam have is too big for a slouch actress. I’m also not looking forward to liam and whatever her name is her accent is annoying as all heck.

I think we will see lots of flashbacks until the role is recast.

Would have been nice if she’d said goodbye to her husband.

I know.

It was a good final episode with the exception of a proper good bye to Wyatt and her father. Liam had moved on and her husband was hurting too! She showed that she only cared about herself and lik Wyatt told her..she only wants what she doesn’t have. Immaturity on her part not to say goodbye to Wyatt.

Wyatt had the nerve to tell Hope that? He is the king of wanting what he doesn’t have! All the things he and Mom did to get Hope for him. From the time they met Liam, Quinn convinced him that everything he had should be Wyatt’s. He even wanted Liam’s house. Quinn has told Wyatt, again on Friday that he is the only love of her life. They have a truly dysfunctional mother/son relationship. Hope should have said goodbye just the way she did w/ Liam. Although Lope might be over (for now) at least that farce of a marriage call Hottmess is over!

Agreed. She does want what she can’t have. She wants it all. She should have told Wyatt she was going. She should have said goodbye to her father. Why spend all that time with Liam?

Great ending. While I wish her well, but will miss this story line with her playing this role . Hopefully she’ll return .Hint hint

Yay!

The exit of Kim felt very real and personal; the way they wrote her exit was beautiful. I cannot wait for Hope to return, hopefully a stronger and more determined woman.

Okay Kim we get it, love you, love yourself, it’s still the same. Buh Bye! Good Luck in primetime season! Your job at DOOL’s is waiting when it doesn’t work out “there”.

Glad she’s off the show. It was too much Hope all the time. Good luck to her.

way too much.

I really hope that while Hope is gone Liam will move on with Ivy. He Needs to cut ties and be happy with a girl who chooses Him! As for Wyatt and Quinn ugh I wish they’d move too. wyatt has No back bone and quinn is Nuts!

Quinn is the female version of Bill. Do you want Bill gone? In fact, Bill has done way worse. Why does he get a pass?

Thank you for the great article. It was a wonderful scene and as a Lope fan and Hope fan, I loved it. Selfishly, I can’t wait for Hope’s return… soon hopefully and see the drama that it brings.

Hope that Hope comes back and her a Liam get back together, Like they should be,

It was nice the way hope existed but sad for liam he looked so hurted . I will miss kim because i always look forward to seeing her and liam. I just wish they would have got be married before she left the show. Now there will be a new hope but she can never take the place of kim. Brad bell did a great job with hopes last scene.
.

What is the title of the last song sung on Dec 12th and name of the artist? Thank you.

Great acting, good show.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW AS WELL. IS THIS THE SONG THAT PLAYED WHILE LIAM AND HOPE SAID GOODBYE???
ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY…PLEASE IF YOU KNOW THE TITLE AND ARTIST I HAVE TO KNOW.

The song is called Wish I had the why by Shelley Fraley

I really liked KM’s send-off and I will miss her.
I am happy that LOPE had a final scene, I always liked their chemistry and would have liked to see a happy ending for them once.

I am very happy with the story that facilitated Kim’s departure. After a tragedy, a young girl goes to be with her mother. She can return any time – no mystery, no plastic surgery. I believe that the character will return shortly – Hope is integral to three families and her presence in story is important.

I’ve been watching this show for along time and yes it was way too much HOPE the last four years, and I hated it but Kim M could act and she do an awesome job for four years. In end it sad to her go, but hopefully she will find success on nighttime TV and or movies. The ending and the song, the acting, flashbacks were so sad and great. I sure the these two actors will miss each other and you could see it and feel it, just awesome. Anne Heche was awesome on AW and when she left it was not the same, but she did find some success after daytime, so I am sure Kim will as well.

I’m sure there are many who do and many who don’t but I loved Liam and Hope. Actually I only paid attention when they were on the screen. I probably won’t be watching B&B as often as I did because the other storylines are not very interesting to me. I wish Kim good luck but I hope she comes back after a while. I personally think there just isn’t a better pair as Liam and Hope.

This. Agreed! !!

I wish hope would still be in. I would love to see her and liam together get married and have a baby they are so good together

I still think she should have not did her husband like that he’s been nothing but good to her because liam will leave her for another woman he did not love hope that much until someone else showed her some attention because he all ways thought he had hope where he wouldn’t her so with that said I hope she come back to her husband.

Love the way the story is open for all kinds of possibilities for Hope and Liam

I love bold and the Beautiful I wish that it could stay on longer.Send my best to Kim and hope she comes back to the show.

I really ejoyed Friday’s episode. I think this story really needed some sort of a break or closure if you will. I really wish they didn’t have to do it in such a tragic way, but it wouldn’t be a soap opera otherwise. I am hoping now the show will focus on the other stories and the terrific actors that play them so well. I’m kind of hoping that maybe Maya will start to crack over her situation with Rick. Maybe she can share a padded cell with Quinn. Looking forward to future episodes and wish Kim nothing but goog wishes on her future endeavors

I thought the scenes surrounding Hope’s departure were extremely well written and that the actors did an amazing job of keeping the emotional integrity of the losses that everyone felt. I especially enjoyed the montage of the hospital visit fused with Quinn learning the news….great job!

Wish her well, but not sure what poor Brad Bell is going to do now that he doesn’t have either Hope or Brooke to write for. He might actually discover there are other characters on the show– LOL.

Well, Brooke should be back soon so she’ll get center stage.

I loved her final scene! The music was beautiful and the camera work was great. Great directing, wonderful writing. Just a great show!!!!

Kim I wish you luck but I will miss you and hope you come back an wind up with Liam

No disrespect to the actress, but this story line has been beaten to death… it is SO over.

I have to disaree with those that feel that the end was well written… I found it rushed and thrown together with the same old flasbacks we have be watching for years. Yesterday she was in the hospital, losing the baby and the very next day she meets with Liam, declares her love and leaves ths very minute to go see her mom, with no regard to her husband who too lost his child?? How is that well written?

Then she walks away, right out of a harlequinn romance novel and disappears into the clouds? There were so many other options here and while I understand it was a vey last minute decision leaving little time, it certainly showed.

I just hope the new actress brings a much stronger less selfish HOPE to the canvas. Liam move on… Wyatt take the time to heal and find somone deserving of you!

Disapponted in Chicago.

Very disappointed,I wanted to see Liam with Hope

I wish Hope & Liam did get back together & marry.

I am going to miss Kim Matula as Hope. She is a fine actress. I wish her the Best of Everything.

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!?

Thanks for four great years of seeing you day after day. I’m sorry you didn’t like the storyline withWyatt, but he gave you all of him and you didn’t have to share him. I think steffy is too big for her britches.. she is not all that . You, hope, kim are an amazing person i hope to meet you in person some day your biggest fan. GOD bless you

The best thing about Friday Dec. 12th’s episode was Hope Leaving. Sorry but I’ve been waiting for this for quite some time now. Her character was just so boring. Not to mention she thinks she a saint but yet she sleeps with brothers dates two brothers at the same time. Quite one and married the other in the same day… Bye Hope, you looked better going then you did coming!

the song tittle is called “Wish I Had The Why” I don’t know the artist but you get it you can just type the tittle and say Bold and The Beautiful song and then you can download it

Artist : Shelly Fraley

Song Tittle : “i wish i had the why”

Such a beautiful song, I’m already playing it on my phone, Fairwell to
Kim I wish Liam can finally settle down with Ivy

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
