All My Children's Adam Mayfield Returning To Daytime On Days of our Lives!

Looks like more former daytime favorites are returning to the soaps and NBC’s Days of our Lives!
This time news has that the former All My Children star Adam Mayfield who played the role of Scott Chandler on ABC’s version of the series from 2009-2010, will be appearing in what appears to be a recurring role on DAYS!
Adam’s recent bio on the actor’s website which catches fans up on what projects the actor has been doing of late ends with: “He (Adam) also returned to daytime this fall to stir up some trouble on Days of our Lives.”
According to a DAYS rep, Mayfield will play an ex-flame of Serena Mason played by Melissa Archer.
Be on the lookout for Mayfield to hit Salem sometime in 2015 since the series tapes so many months in advance.
Looking forward to seeing Adam back on your daytime screens again? Comment below!
wow, another useless newbie!
days is trying my patience! can we get some real attention grabbing returns!
carrie, austin, belle, shawn, bo, phillip?! some recognizable faces?
new chad as head of di mera enterprises is a bigger joke than the wasted year of jordan, her beefhead bro and her hick trailer park pop!
enough with the screen time fillers days! if u want steady viewership we cant just keep waiting for eileen davidsons returns!
Well said Damien, I’d prefer to see the return of Shawn D and Belle, by a set of new actors. I too, am not fans of Jordan or Ben, and the actor who plays Ben is banal. I agree, we can’t keep waiting for Eileen to shake up Salem. Hopefully, the insertion of Melissa Archer into the DAYS orbit works. I do however like the actor who plays Clyde. Hopefully, Jordan will be killed off. We do need a pair of big returns to Salem. A new super couple to root for.
“…A new super couple to root for. ”
I want, so much, for, Shane and Kimberly Donovan to return
Charles Shaunessy and Patsy Pease would make my world orbit even more for
wish list time : Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon
I love the Shane and Kimberly return idea. I’m sure they will come back for the 50th anniversary. Be great to see them connect with Theresa, Eve, and Paige.
Days needs more blasts from the past like Shane and Kim…and several more…i want Stephan Schnetzer ex Steve Olsen, Julies brother, to return…he’d make a great love interest for Kate…he was on Days in the late 70s…he sold his sister fake antiques…probably before you started watching…he also was popular as Cass on AW for many years…i dont know if you know of him but he was great and sorely missed on soaps…he and Kate would be hot together!!!
AW was my #1 soap, back in the day. I loved Stephen as Cass, met him and many others at the AW fan luncheon, and on set. Miss Another World. I would really Kate on DAYS to have a low interest. Right now, I am enjoying her “dating”…seeing…okay sleeping with Clyde, for the moment. Kayla also needs a love interest…even though she’s recurring, she needs loving, too. How about Kayla and Abe?
a few typos there. “I would really like Kate on DAYS to have a love interest”.
days seems to be going the route of : Y&R and GH
hiring a lot of newbies….
geez! wouldn’t it be something if DAYS hired; actors from “Another World”
established couples and families even
Frankie and Cass
Sharlene and John
Vicki and Jake
so many couples to name
ATWT : my all time favorite serial
AW : had the BEST cast superlative…
I’d love to see Stephen Schnetzer on DAYS
No clue but can’t wait to find out. Someone from Ben’s past maybe? Someone new for Abigail? The possibilities are endless!
Quoting from the article: “Mayfield will play an ex-flame of Serena Mason played by Melissa Archer.”
He’s Aidens brother-in-law out to blackmail him knowing Aidens wife is alive…Wills secret lover…someone stalking Melanie…Serenas ex husband…he starts a fire at Sonnys new club that ends Jordans life…Jordans former lover and she leaves town with him…all of the above…lol
Any and all sounds good, jimh!
Quoting from the article: “Mayfield will play an ex-flame of Serena Mason played by Melissa Archer.”
Enough with all the newbies. Never heard of this guy. Bring back Julie and Doug–give them some story.
Doug and Julie are said to have an upcoming storyline.
I hope they do…they are considered Daytimes first supercouple…i have several favorite soap couples but Doug and Julie will always be no.1 to me!!!
Good! I hope it’s a good story.
I loved Adam, just not as Scott Chandler. So I hope this new role is one that suits his talents much better than that of Scott did.
I think I remember a baby named Scott born to Julie, when she was teenager. Her boyfriend was named also named Scott…I think he died. Julie’s best friend, Susan, not EJ’s mother, had an affair with with Julie’s boyfriend, or maybe they were married then, so maybe it was Susan’s baby. Anyway, I think Scott Chandler has something to do with Julie. Wishing the writers would move on from this Kate and Clyde thing. He is a sleez ball! She is totally out of his league. Also, just get Daniel and Jen together once and for all. Let Nicole and Eric finally hook up. Also, why does Dr. Dan live in a small little apartment? He can certainly afford a house….. Put him in a nice house. Okay, that’s it. I have been a fan of DOOL since day #1!!!
When Julie was a teenager, her best friend was Susan (Denise Alexander) and her boyfriend was David Martin. David was a spoiled rich brat, and gave Julie the attention she craved (having been left behind with Tom and Alice because her parents Ben and Addie moved to Europe without her. One night, David was driving Susan home while drunk, and he pulled off the road to talk. He ended up raping Susan, and she got pregnant. Since you didn’t have children out of wedlock in those days, Julie convinced David he had to do the right thing and marry Susan for the baby’s sake. Then, after the baby was born, they could divorce and he could marry her (Julie). Reluctantly, they went through with the plan, only Julie never got to marry David. Susan became reluctant to divorce so soon, and Julie decided to “force” the divorce by getting herself pregnant by David. Then, one afternoon, David left the baby unattended to answer the phone; the baby fell and later died. Susan flipped out and shot and killed David about the same time Julie found out she was pregnant. What happened with Susan is a whole long story that broke up Bill and Laura and got Laura and Mickey married. Back to Julie: She was convinced the best thing to do was give her baby up for adoption. Her baby, also David, was adopted by Janet and Scott Banning, who happened to live across the hall from Susan. None knew baby David was Julie’s child. Anyway, Janet got sick and died, and Scott and Susan bonded over taking care of the baby. Meanwhile, Julie decided to recover her child, which set into motion a very emotional custody battle at the end of which, the judge ruled in Julie’s favor. She got her baby back, and used him to come between Scott and Susan. Eventually, Julie and Scott married . . . and then there was Doug, and Bob Anderson . . . and after Bob fell in love with Julie, Scott (an architect) was injured and killed on a construction site. I probably could go on, but I guess you’re tired of reading about the “good old Days.”
You’ve done a better explaination than i did…had i seen it sooner i wouldve let it alone but it wasnt there when i wrote my version…i tried to condense it down and left out much detail that you included…those were better Days…lol
I wish I could see those DAYS!
Julie had a child named David…she got pregnant by David Martin who was married to Julies rival Susan Hunter…Susan shot and killed David because she blamed him for their sons death…Julie put her baby up for adoption and he was raised by Scott and Janet Banning…after Janet died, Scott and Julie became a couple…Scott died after an accident at a construction site for Anderson Manufacturing…David would be gone for some time and returned to town…he was involved with Brooke Hamilton, Valerie Grant and Trish Clayton…he gets Trish pregnant and marries her…they have a son named Scotty but their marriage ends in divorce…Davids next romance was with Renee Dumonde who was later murdered…David,Trish and Scotty were written out of the show in the 1980s but a grown up Scotty returned to the show many years later but left town…David, Trish and Scotty are now long forgotten members…at least on the show…of the Horton Family…i might of left a few things out…tried not to be so lengthy…Julie wasnt involved with a Scott during those early years…it was David Martin…a more grownup Julie played by Susan Seaforth Hayes was involved with Scott Banning a little later in the program…hope i was helpful!!!
No offense to the actor, but I am SO sick of all of the new characters that keep popping up on this show! Especially when they don’t use the cast they already have! John is put in a coma for months, then sent out of town, Marlena pops in and out for only brief moments, we rarely see Kayla, or Abe. They have terrific actors like Aloma Wright who they could do great with a big story, and instead we get all of these young characters that have never mentioned before ‘histories’ with established characters! JUST USE THE CHARACTERS on canvas for story!
agree. where are belle, shawn d, carrie, Austin, bo, Melissa, Philip, chloe,?
It would be fun for him to do some scenes with Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden). Both of took a turn as Scott on AMC.
I WAS thinking the same exact thing – two ex-Scott Chandlers now on the
new soap “Days of All My Children with one life to Live” – NBC is wisely gathering up alumni from ABC’s two iconic soaps – but whether or not this
will prove to be a clever strategic move remains to be seen.
I hope he is the new “BO,BO,BO!”
Sorry, but if Bo had BOtox to make himself look over a decade younger i might agree but Bo is 50ish and this actor is only 38…maybe as Shawn D would be ok…lol
My Christmas wish is he would be a recast Mike Horton, or Shawn Douglas, or Philip K.– anyone connected to the show’s history in the 50th year. But since the role is recurring he might just be another newbie connected to other newbies—
Can’t wait for the calendar to change to Jan 1 and the 50th year stories start cranking out. I get right now everything is on a holding pattern story wise, but this about as dull as this show has ever been— so looking forward to the New Year– it should be good, unless they completely drop the ball on the 50th anniversary opportunity to really dig into the show’s rich history for compelling drama to tell.
He’s(38) a little too young for Mike(Who is 50ish…Mike is older the Jen but Shawn or Philip would be good or as Mikes grown son Scotty…Days needs to stay focused on its rich history…more Hortons and Bradys…i hope the 50th anniversary doesnt disappoint…would like to see former cast members make one day appearances or some short story arcs that last for weeks like the return of Julies rival Susan Martin who turns out to be Anne’s mother…would love to see the last three adult Mike Hortons in a scene together…silly maybe but id love it!!!
Thanks for the intel– it is always hard for me to determine age by a picture. I remember Mike being young, I guess I forgot that soap characters age just like the rest of us LOL.
jimh, I think you mean Mike’s grown son Jeremy (by Robin). Scotty was Julie’s grandson (David’s son). Both David and Scotty were aged so rapidly that Julie was the grandmother to a grown Scott by the eighties, which was totally absurd because Susan Seaforth-Hayes was only in her early forties (and her on-screen grandson was in his twenties played by Ric Hearst). It’s actually sad that the show has sort of pretended they don’t exist rather than have her mentioning them on occasion.
Mike’s grown son Jeremy was last played briefly by Trevor Donovan in 2007.
Your not alone Mary…at first i thought of Bo and Mike recast but i googled him because he look familiar to me…he resembles someone else and thought i seen him somewhere other than AMC…i noticed his age and thought he couldnt play Bo or Mike…he does look the part…but Shawn or Jeremy(Mikes son) would be possible…
Oops! Looks like you know your history pretty well and just typed the wrong name before. I love your idea of Anne being tied to one of Julie’s old rivals! But considering her contempt for the Hortons, it would probably be weird to mention it now unless it was a secret she was harboring.
Have you noticed how the show never references it’s own history prior to the arrival of the Bradys? I get that the 80s sort of took the show in a new direction and that most of the audience wouldn’t know old references, but it’s always bothered me that some of the Hortons have disappeared and never been mentioned again. Steve, Tommy, and Sandy don’t even have ornaments on the tree! I don’t think David or Scott do anymore either. Sad. Would it kill them to have Julie mention in passing that she was visiting her brother or son on one of her many trips?
Hi JP…it does bug me how the show never mentions certain Hortons…would love it if Julie at least mentioned a visit to see David and Scotty or her brother Steve…i see Kayla being used a little more…would like to see her fall for Abe…maybe Maxine could be her rival???
Looking forward to this new development in Salem. Expected Nicole to want to “scratch Serena’s eyes out” because of Eric. This new development with Serena’s ex-boyfriend will make the story even more interesting!
I don’t miss EJ and Sami at all. The stories going on now in Salem are interesting enough. This one with Eric and Serena is about to get real interesting!
I agree; the void left by Sami and EJ’s gag-worthy story has been filled nicely. I just need more development for Nicole, and then the series is working out quite well.
I miss EJami. Some of the stories have been lacking lately.
You are entitled to your opinion!
Bring the real Bo back , no one can take his place he was the best on the show I watched Days for over 25 years and it’s hard to find anyone to fit his shoes.
I wonder if the reason they dont focus much on the history is because the show was rebooted a few years ago.

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father
Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.
His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”
Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”
Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid. He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”
In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”
Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’
On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.
Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.
It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Photo: ABC
Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”
She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.
“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup. However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’
In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.
You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot? What do you think about how this high profile Hollywood saga was side-stepped on the morning show? Did you love Sarah as the original Kendall Hart on All My Children?
