THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Has Liam Suffered Brain Damage? Will He Think He’s Still Married to Steffy?

In the upshot of the biggest cliffhanger from last week from The Bold and the Beautiful, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) was brought back to life by Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) screaming for him to wake up on Monday’s April 7th episode. Next, Liam was taken to emergency surgery to try to relieve pressure on the brain since he was suffering a terrible bleed.

Later, Liam survives the surgery, but as Dr. Buckingham told Steffy; they released some of the pressure, but he’s not out of the woods just yet. Grace warns Steffy that her ex-husband is still in extremely critical condition.

Trying to piece together what happened to Liam, Grace is looking at his CT brain scans and tells Steffy that she sees there is more than one point of impact on Liam’s brain. Grace tells Steffy if she had arrived a few minutes later to Bill’s house (where she found Liam), he may not have made it. Grace points out, “Liam Spencer owes you his life.”

In tears, an emotional Steffy pleads with Liam to wake up. She tells him about how many people love him and that Kelly and Beth love their daddy so much. But then, Steffy adds, “I need you too, and even though we’re not together anymore, we will always be bonded for life.”

What do we get next ?  A Liam and Steffy greatest hits flashback montage! After her remembrances, Steffy pleads again with Liam to wake up! Steffy takes Liam’s hand and tells him to open his eyes.. Suddenly, Liam begins to come around. Steffy tells Grace, “I think he’s back!” Grace tells Liam he in the hospital as Steffy says, “Liam, Liam, I’m here. It’s me.” In recognition of hearing Steffy, while trying to open his eyes, Liam squeezes her hand as Steffy cries.

So, where is this going? First, no one knows about Liam’s condition except Steffy. She never called Finn, Kelly (who is waiting for her dad), Bill, or even Hope. Second, if the only person with Liam at the moment is Steffy, and he recognizes her voice, it would seem he will wake up with his brain jumbled thinking he is still married to her. If that is the case, does this somehow pave the way for Jacqui’s upcoming maternity leave, since she revealed she is about to have her fifth child come May/June?

It would be great if a different twist is coming altogether that would challenge Scott Clifton, the three-time Daytime Emmy winner, perhaps navigating severe brain damage, and not complete or selective amnesia only. However, the way Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer, B&B) and his writing team crafted Liam’s fall (after having some kind of traumatic seizure where he lost consciousness), he hit his head on his way down to the living room floor at Bill’s, and then again on the cement in front of the front door of the house. That is a whole lot of brain trauma.

Now below, check out a moment from today’s B&B where Steffy tells Liam to “keep fighting.”

Then let us know, what do you hope happens next? Do you think we are about to get a Steffy/Liam redux 8.0, because he will think he is in a different time and place? Might he not know who Steffy is at all? Share your theories via the comment section.

Again, this is why I dropped this show. Brad Bell CANNOT come up with anything new! How many times does this make??!! How many triangles are currently playing out? I think BB writes these ass crazy stories for his own enjoyment and to see how far he can frustrate his audience! Yeah, Steffy doesn’t think to call Bill, Liam’s father or her husband, who is also a doctor??!! Hope, she could care less about, even though she and Liam also share a child!

You are right that it is boring and tiresome. Yet, you have to remember that his father did the same thing at Y&R, which is its DNA to this day. Bill Bell sort of perfected this kind of story telling, to a much less extent but with a lot more success, when he was head writer at DOOL.

We all hear you loud and clear I’m in shock that it’s still on I guess it’s called a habit you can’t kick but yesterday episode was beyond embarrassing . If you read the history of his fathers writing it was always triangles. I heard SC did not want to continue this triangle

His father was a master storyteller. He made you care about the characters, because in the end there was a satisfying payoff. I can’t say that about Brad Bell. Where is the romance building and the suspense? Carter out of the blue tells Hope that he was interested in her. She was shocked and so was the audience! And, how long did that last once Daphne batted her eyes at him?? Yes, I miss the writing of William Bell. He made you want to come back for more.

I paused Y&R for a minute and when it restarted it took me to Bold and the Beautiful. Steffy is still at his bedside and hadn’t called Bill. She is no longer his next of kin, so shouldn’t the hospital have called his father/family?

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

This week on General Hospital begins with the ABC soap opera’s 16,000th episode which brings Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back to Port Charles after being released by the WSB; all thanks to the deal made between Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Z (John Oliver).

On the same episode, the upshot of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) coming face to face, and seeing each other for the first time in months plays itself out, and it may not be how you think. Josslyn hopes sending Valentin to the side of Anna, will break up his burgeoning relationship with her mother, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but will it?

It appears Valentin has a warning for Anna. In the GH video preview for the episode, Anna is seen saying “How do you know that?” What does Valentin know, and will he be the person that will catch on that she is being haunted by the ghost of Peter August (Wes Ramsey)?

Finally, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is seen talking to someone saying that the idea of this person filling the 16th seat on the hospital board is a great idea. Who is she talking to?
