The Bold and the Beautiful Renewed for Three Years By CBS Through At Least 2027-2028 Television Season
“The big news” that The Bold and the Beautiful’s Supervising Producer, Casey Kaspryzk teased would happen this week has revealed itself. On Tuesday, April 8th, CBS renewed the daytime drama series with a three-year pick up taking it through the 2027-2028 television season.
The renewal guarantees that the soap will remain on the CBS daytime line-up at least through its 41st season. Back on March 23rd, B&B celebrated their 38th anniversary having debuted back in 1987.
The Bold and the Beautiful, which is part of the network’s soap opera lineup airs weekdays between The Young and the Restless and Beyond the Gates, averages nearly 3.2 million viewers based on seven days of multiplatform viewing. Streaming of the series on Paramount+ has been up year-to-year over 8%.

Series stars John McCook and Katherine Kelly Lang have been with the show from day one, and the stories revolving around their characters of Eric Forrester and Brooke Logan remain central to the core of the show.
B&B is unique for daytime in that its focus is on the world of high-fashion in Los Angeles, and the entangled lives, passionate loves, and high-stakes dramas of three families: the Logans, the Forresters and the Spencers.
Bradley P. Bell, has served as the head writer of the series since 1993 and its executive producer as well since 1995. He is the son of the series creators, the late great William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell.

Over the years, The Bold and the Beautiful has taken home multiple Daytime Emmys including three consecutive wins in the Outstanding Drama Series category in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Following the news on the renewal going public, Supervising Producer, Casey Kaspryzk took to X with special acknowledgements: “To all our incredible fans, thank you for your unwavering support and passion for #BoldandBeautiful. Your enthusiasm fuels our journey, and we’re excited to continue sharing the twists and turns of romance and drama with you. Let’s keep this adventure alive together!”
The Bold and the Beautiful is broadcast on weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET/12:30-1:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network. Full episode streaming of the series is available on Paramount+ and CBS TVE (CBS.com / CBS app).
So, excited to learn that The Bold and the Beautiful received a three-year renewal? What would you like to see on the show moving forward and over the next few years? Comment below.
No offence, but I continue to fail to see how this soap can continue to be renewed outside of its international audience. The stories are repeated (and stale), the stunt casting (and recasting) is laughable, and it’s just a dwindling shadow of the legendary soap launched by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell.
I look forward to your posts, Scott (ATWT fan), as they are so often spot on. This latest one is no exception. For my tastes, B&B has lost its way. I follow the daytime industry but no longer watch the program.
I totally agree
Great news Why would anyone want to see any of the daytime dramas cancelled is beyond me I watch all with the exception of general it’s just not my thing but I wouldn’t want see it get cancelled any soap cancelled at this point would be harmful for the rest of the soaps
I don’t speak for everyone here – but I think we all just want the shows to be as good (and fresh) as possible.
B&B has a reputation for repeating storylines and has an unrealistic look at fashion in LA (where are the gays?)
Y&R has been criticized for being stale as well.
DAYS is hopefully righting some wrongs with the change in head writers.
And GH, has even been repeating storylines (how many retcon children do we need in one years time?)
This is a sincere question, no sarcasm, but what does Fashion in L.A have to do with Gays?
The fashion industry employs and has a large following amongst gay men. To exclude them from a show that features the industry as its backbone is off putting.
Gays and stylists basically run the fashion world, the runways, the red carpets etc etc.
Stale is a great word for all of these shows I think there is fear to try anything new and just recycle the same stuff. Soaps are all character driven but sometimes the stories need to hit the reset button.
It’s like an accident you can’t look away from. I hate most of the SLs and character’s, but I can’t stop watching, HELP!
thank you CBS, for renewing The Bold And The Beautiful for 3 more years. This is terrific news. hopefully Beyond The Gates gets renewed soon.
Great news for B&B and the daytime industry. The 3-year renewal is pretty huge when you think about it. Hopefully, at some point Beyond the Gates gets renewed by the time a decision has to be made on it.
Im happy for the renewal but this show is mindless entertainment. I tried so hard to like it but it’s just dumb.
Im so happy they renewed the show I watch a lot on Paramount plus. It’s my fav keep up the good work! Been watching long time now! Y&R too!
Congrats to B&B! 3.2 Million viewers can’t be wrong. Appears you finally got the message to NOT retread the Brooke, Ridge, Taylor triangle. Welcome back Jack Wagner! And let’s see what is next for Luna and Sheila when they combine evil!

‘Days of Our Lives’ Officially Confirms Ryan Quan Returning as Co-Head Writer Beginning in July
There is definitely a shake-up going down at the writing team at Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. Now, the long-running soap opera has confirmed, what has been previously reported, that current General Hospital breakdown writer, Ryan Quan is heading back to his old stomping grounds in Salem. This time as the series co-head writer.
The appointment of Quan comes with the official news that current co-head writer, Paula Cwikly, who was previously rumored to be departing the series, is not. She is staying with the soap opera and transitioning to a consultant role with the show. Now, Quan will join current co-head writer, Jeanne Marie Ford to steer the ship for the characters on the canvas.
On Wednesday, TV Insider, reported the official confirmation and that Quan will return to DAYS next month in July. In a statement to the outlet, executive producer, Ken Corday expressed, ‘We are lucky to have Ryan back in the fold. There are very few people who have such a deep knowledge and understanding of our show’s history. Stay tuned!”

THE FUTURE OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Since Days of our Lives unusual production schedule tapes ten-months ahead of air, the new creative team’s vision led by Quan and Jeanne Marie Ford are not expected to stream on Peacock until mid-2027.
Days of Our Lives is currently renewed through its 63rd season. The former NBC soap opera which transitioned to Peacock in September of 2022, celebrate its 60th anniversary in November of 2025.
The writing regime change comes after NBCUniversal Media Chairman Matt Strauss revealed that Peacock is expected to turn a profit for the first time in the current quarter, punctuating their investment with the enduring soap opera on its platform.
As for Quan, his knowledge of Salem is tremendous. Ryan joined Days of Our Lives as a writer’s assistant in 2007 after some time over at Passions. He then spent two decades and held every position on the writing team where he previously served as co-head writer from 2016-17 alongside Dena Higley.
Later, when Ron Carlivati took over as head writer for 7 years in 2017, Quan became his right-hand man and main story consultant for his deep knowledge of the history and the legacy of the show. After Carlivati exited the show in 2024, General Hospital hired Quan in 2025.
So, what do you think about DAYS making it official with Ryan Quan as the new co-head writer of the series alongside Jeanne Marie Ford. What do you think about the fact we won’t see the changes on-screen till 2027? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order
In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.
The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”
A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS
The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.
Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear. The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.
It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.
So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
