THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Is Luna Really Dead? A Suspicious Ending Raises Doubt

On The Bold and the Beautiful, after two lives were hanging in the balance, one lived and one supposedly died by the end of the Thursday, July 10th episode of the CBS daytime drama series.

After Liam (Scott Clifton) makes it through surgery after taking a bullet to the chest courtesy of Luna, her fate apparently wasn’t so good. However, the fact that viewers did not see her die on the airshow, combined with Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) suspicious behavior, and Poppy’s (Romy Park) response to learning her daughter passed away, leaved the door open for the possibility that something else is at play here.

Here’s what went down: Dr. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) and Dr. Li Nozawa were relieved that Luna had made it through the surgery. Bridget was quick to point out that Luna has a long recovery ahead, and that even when she is well enough to be moved from the hospital, she will be put in prison and their are cops outside the OR awaiting to arrest her for kidnapping and attempted murder charges.

Sadly, Bridget says. “We may have given her a second chance at life, but nobody can stop her from a lifetime in prison.” Li says that Luna isn’t out of the woods yet. Then, when Bridget tried to get Li to tell her sister, about Luna’s medical crisis, Li urged her to leave the OR, saying she she would take Luna into recovery. After Bridget exits Li looks down at her niece and says, “This should never have happened to you!”

Later, the scene shifts to the hospital hallways and we see someone moving quickly grabbing medical supplies from the shelves. In the waiting area, Finn (Tanner Novlan) informs Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) that Liam is stable for now and made it through surgery. Just then, Poppy arrives.

Poppy gets an earful from Steffy when she tells her the horrific things her daughter had done. Li tells her sister that Luna flatlined on the operating table. However, they were able to restart her heart and move her to recovery. Next, something happened. “She didn’t make it, Penelope,” Li declared. “Your daughter died in recovery. Luna’s dead.”

In that moment, Finn, Hope, Carter and Steffy are stunned, However, Poppy’s reaction was one of, “Good, I’m glad Luna’s dead.” Li appeared to be stunned by her sister’s word, but is she really?  The episodes comes to its conclusion.

So what is going on here? Did Li kill Luna? Did Li somehow move Luna from the hospital to some undisclosed location and she is actually alive? Is Poppy in on it? Are the two sisters staging this and worked together to move Luna? With a villain and psycho like the character of Luna, and given the nature of soap operas, it’s hard to believe that she is truly dead, so she can make a return all healed from her wounds to terrorize her enemies down the line.

Now let us know, do you think Luna is truly dead? Which of the scenarios we presented above do you think is most likely true or that you suspect? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, check out the Michael Fairman Channel’s recent interview with now Daytime Emmy nominee, Lisa Yamada below.

That’s what I was thinking. The way Li kept saying she felt sorry for Luna made me think she hauled her off to some sort of facility

Li is hiding her

Flatline this story, please. It is is painful to read about it. Is any character on this series written with morality, remorse, intelligence, sense of justice? In half-hour show, why is so much time spent on Finn’s manufactured family?

Luna lives. This is a soap opera & everyone wants more of Luna. NOT!!!

Deb…oh, I agree. Recently, Luna’s, uh, antics were starting to annoy me. Remember…Luna tried to frame Poppy (her own mother!!!!!) for murder!!!!!

Bottom Line: Luna needs to stay dead. FOR GOOD!!!!!

W-e-l-l…if Luna is really and actually dead, I don’t blame Li for feeling the way that she does. Remember…Luna tried to pin one of her crimes on Li. Li…her own mother!!!!!

Just saying.

Poppy Nozawa is Luna’s mom.

Dr. Li Finnegan is her Aunt.

Dr Li Finnegan is
Luna’s aunt.

Poppy Nozawa is
Luna’s mom….

Correction: Poppy and not Li. Sorry about that.

Li kept Finn alive & hidden at one time, didn’t she?

So, yes, of course, writers exercise that plot twist again.

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

This week on General Hospital begins with the ABC soap opera’s 16,000th episode which brings Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back to Port Charles after being released by the WSB; all thanks to the deal made between Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Z (John Oliver).

On the same episode, the upshot of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) coming face to face, and seeing each other for the first time in months plays itself out, and it may not be how you think.
