THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Liam’s Fate Revealed: Will He Be Saved?

By Michael Fairman

On the Friday, April 18th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful viewers learned just how serious Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) medical condition truly is.

In key scenes, Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) and Dr. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) come to see their colleague Finn (Tanner Novlan). In his office, the two women reveal that Liam’s latest scans show a terminal and inoperable mass in his brain.

Liam has left the hospital determined against doctors order to get home for his daughter, Kelly (Sophia Paras) who is excited about the daddy-daughter dance. As Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) tries to explain that Liam can’t make it to the dance, he shows up at the cliff house, clearly not doing well.

When Kelly tells her dad, they missed the dance, Liam says they can have the dance right here, right now. Liam gives Kelly a a little tiara that she loves.  Steffy turns on the music and the lightning ambience.

Suddenly, Steffy gets a text from Finn letting her know that Liam has an inoperable and terminal mass in his brain. Steffy is devastated as she looks on at her daughter with Liam, not knowing how anything will ever be the same again,

Scott Clifton was once again touching in the scenes with Sophia Paras as the father who put his own health and life on the line to make his daughter happy.

So the question becomes, is this the end of the line for Liam? Will B&B kill-off the character? Will somehow the scans be wrong, or improve or will a world renowned brain surgeon save the day?

Share your theories below and let us know what you thought of Liam/Kelly scenes and your reaction to the news of Liam’s fate via the comment section below. But first, check out the moment where Liam makes it to the cliff house with the intent on making it to the daddy-daughter dance with Kelly.

Am i the only one confused as to how an ambulance can show up at Bill Spencer’s building with sirens blaring and pick up an unconscious Liam and no one inside notices an ambulance is outside? Or how Bill Spencer can go back to his office and see a blood trail and not ask gee what happened here? Or how Bridget can see her former brother in law unconscious in the hospital and not alert her sister Hope? Or how the hospital can run all those test and look at surgery for Liam and not notify his next of kin for permission which would be Bill? Or how Steffy could be such a bit**** in the hospital fearful that Liam would die and not notify Bill or Hope about what was going on? Would any reasonable relative ever forgive an individual for not notifying them of this while Liam was unconsciou? My goodness Deacon loathed Ridge but called him when he found Steffy shot. This show is so stupid I can’t even enjoy what was supposed to be a sweet father daughter dance today. Reason 1,0000 why soap operas need new writing blood!!!!

I totally agree. It makes no sense at all!

Lew…to me, NOTHING about B&B makes sense anymore. AT ALL!!!!!

Bottom line this is not a storyline for SC it is all about the character of Steffy once again . What exactly is the character of Bridget doing she never thinks to call her sister Hope who also shares a child with Liam plus I did not know Bridget worked in this hospital .

It was a beautiful scene

I’m going to say it: it’s time for Scott Clifton⏤who is a consummate performer⏤to be set free from The Bold and the Beautiful and to return home to General Hospital. The absence of Michael Corinthos should be the best time to return Dillon Quartermaine to the canvas. Clifton is one of the few actors locked into Bold, replaying the same tired material. He and some others (i.e., Heather Tom) deserve to shine outside of this cesspool of a “soap”.

I agree!

Me too!

It would be great for GH if he did, but until GH get its own house in order (I’m looking at you, current headwriters, and at you too, ABC execs who keep making the show a mess), I’m not sure GH would give him better material. If I am recalling correctly, he has a wife and kids, and as repetitive and silly and utterly ridiculous as B&B is, its ratings are consistently decent, and it has a much better chance of staying the course than GH does, at least until the latter gets its act together. So if I were he, unless he’s thinking of trying to move beyond soaps, I’d say sticking with B&B is a better bet for him, though it can’t be very fulfilling. I can’t watch B&B for more than a week or so at a time, and then I just can’t take the repetitiveness and ridiculousness of it (I will say this: it’s not boring, at least not in the same way a certain related program is), but it seems to have a pretty devoted core viewership that likes it the way it is, so . . .

Pray that they write him off or at the very least make him only able to speak by blowing into a tube.

lol!!!

If I ever hear the words “daddy daughter dance” again it’ll be too soon

it was very sweet of him. But hate seeing Liam leave the show.

Calling B&B a cesspool of a soap is really over the top! The Bold and the Beautiful thumped its competition in the ratings at 2.7 M viewers. Recent writing, direction and acting by the great Heather Tom was certainly Emmy award winning and I expect nominations for this great soap that keeps bringing us back for more. Scott is working on a 4th Emmy win and Brad Bell needs to keep him in the forefront of the B&B canvas, Bold is Back!

Heather Tom’s episode was fantastic. Too bad she isn’t being promoted to be head writer for the show. As for thumping the competition its easy to do so when there is no competition. Its competing in most areas against the 6th hour of news. Put it in the spot where BTG is against established soap General Hospital and we will see just how good the show is.

No, it isn’t, unless by “back,” you mean repeating the same plots over and over and having characters who learn nothing from past actions so they’re stuck in the same cycle of lather, rinse, repeat with no way to get out of it. The Heather Tom episode was indeed top notch, but she’s not in charge of the show, unfortunately.

I like Liam, I wish they would of had more of him . For get Luna. Change Chanel when she’s on.

the way he writes B&B it will probably be a brain transplant

OK…you know what: Either kill Liam off…or…let him have a speedy recovery already!!!!! I mean…IT IS A SOAP!!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!

Please do not take him from all f us and the cast that love him.

Please have a new Experimental treatment Dave Liam!!

Days Of Our Lives

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Looks Back at 50 Years in Salem

Published

on

By

The June 22 episode of Days of Our Lives reminded us all of why Deidre Hall is iconic in the role of Dr. Marlena Evans. Here we are 50 years later, and Marlena is still the heroine of the long-running soap opera, and Deidre remains one of the most most recognizable names in the history of soaps.

To pay tribute, and to look back at the life and times of Marlena, the story starts with Marlena flipping through a photo album of her with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) over the years. As she misses him dearly, she gets a knock on the door and its none other than John’s son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean).

With Andrew (Colton Little) in Salem working on a case, he sits down with Marlena, who says she can’t believe its been fifty years since she first arrived in Salem! Cue: Deidre’s first scenes on DAYS when she finds Mickey Horton (the late John Clarke) playing chess against himself inside the mental institution she worked.

THE FLASHBACKS OF MARLENA’S LIFE

From there, viewers definitely got the cliff notes version of the history of Marlena and entrenched within them, some of the biggest moments in Deidre’s enduring run.

Paul thinks he is looking at 70s, and early 80s Marlena while going through her scrapbook, but he is actually looking at her twin, Samantha (Andrea Hall)Cue: when Marlena confronted Samantha about impersonating her, and then later getting a call on her radio show from the Salem Strangler (Jack Coleman as Jake Kostichek) who killed Samantha thinking it was Marlena.

In the present, Belle (Martha Madison) has arrived at this time to meet up with Paul, unaware of this trip down memory lane. She wants to go over the findings in the chess board mystery Stefano willed to Marlena and John, in private with him, since Marlena previously said she wanted nothing to do with it.

Back to the history lesson, Marlena speaks highly of Don Craig and even though their marriage didn’t work out, she could find a path forward with the new love her life, Roman Brady. (Wayne Northrop however is never shown, possibly to keep the story focused on John as Roman for confusion sakes?)

Paul sees a photo of a young Carrie (Christie Clark) in the album and Marlena says she was such a godsend after losing her baby. In fact, Marlena says caring for Carrie prepared her for her having and raising her own twins, Eric and Sami. Cue: The twin visiting Marlena in the hospital.

JOHN AND MARLENA’S LOVE CONQUERED ALL

Then, in a way to get through and incorporate the wild storylines only Marlena could have been in, she tells Belle and Paul, she has been through so much in her life, how lucky she was to find John, and some of the most unbelievable experiences no one could imagine. Cue: Marlena possessed by the devil and levitating from the bed. Next, John confronting Marlena being the Salem Stalker, where she admits she killed Alice Horton, pretends she needs help, then pulls a gun on her beloved John!

The comment is made by Paul and Marlena, that she literally has been to hell and back and she could not have survived were it not for her beloved John. Cue the big emotional highpoint clips; The Pier Scene! Marlena steps out of the fog when John sees her from a distance. After believing she was dead for four years, here she was before him in one of the greatest reunions in a soap opera love story in history. What followed were other times of the life of times of Jarlena.

MARLENA’S ‘GIFT’ FROM STEFANO HAS A NEW CLUE

When Marlena makes a brief exit to the other room, Belle fills in Paul on the chess set Stefano left her mother and the photo of the Lire. Paul said he will investigate. Marlena comes back into the room and overhears, and says to promise her if things get dangerous he will back off, she does not want anyone hurt by Stefano’s games.

As the episode comes to a conclusion, it’s just Belle and Marlena going through the photo album giggling about 70s hairstyles and all the memories. Belle speaks on the impact Marlena has had in everyone’s lives, and that she is both the heart of their family and the heart of Salem.

An end card comes up acknowledging Deidre Hall’s 50th anniversary as Marlena, and we fade to black.

So, what did you think of Marlena’s walk down memory lane? Were you happy to see the flashback clips utilized throughout? Were you touched by the scenes and the performance of Deidre Hall? Let us know what you thought of Deidre’s 50th anniversary episode via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell Surfaces; A Twist in Britt’s Condition

Published

By

On the Thursday, June 18 episode of General Hospital, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) makes his shocking return right in Port Charles, after fleeing (thanks to Cassius) to supposedly parts unknown to escape capture for trying to kill Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).

How does he show up in town? First, Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) gets a text from Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to meet in his hotel room. Ezra thinks the two are going to have a sexcapade so he puts champagne on ice for his favorite escort.

Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Ezra’s excitement turns towards fear as instead of Jacinda, Sidwell is standing in front of him. Next, Sidwell blackmails Boyle telling him he has plenty of leverage he can use against him. Sidwell wants to use Ezra to help him takedown, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Lucas, Laura (Genie Francis) and Cullum.

ARE SIDWELL’S DAYS NUMBERED?

Meanwhile, Sonny confides in his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst). He says he knows who killed Marco an he is going to use that intel to lure Sidwell out of hiding.  Sonny also shares he is going to kill Sidwell, and handle this by himself. He gave the PCPD a chance, but they failed to nab Sidwell for good and lock him up.

Sonny also has been tracking the whereabouts of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco (Finn Carr) through Brick, and learned they took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then boarded a fairy to take them somewhere off the island.

BRITT’S ‘SYMPTOMS’ RETURN

Turns out, Britt and Rocco are hiding out in the British Virgin Islands. Britt set up Rocco with a burner phone and a VPN on her tablet, that is not traceable. Rocco reads on the tablet about Lucas’ shooting. Britt starts to have the shakes and passes out. When she comes to, Britt won’t let Rocco call a doctor, but he uses his phone to step on the balcony and call Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and ask for help. Charlotte looks shocked to hear from her brother as Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) looks on!

However, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) could be the one to put two and two together! While at General Hospital and after questioning Lucas about a syringe he found that was in someone’s possession. the toxicology report showed traces of saline solution, not actual medication. He asks Dr. Jones, why someone would inject themselves with saline? Lucas responds saline is harmless and would have no effect on someone.

So, does this mean that this entire time, Britt has been led to believe that the medication she was taking to treat her Huntington’s disease was placebo? Has Britt been lied to into believing she is dying? Is something else wrong with her instead?

Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below, and if you are ready for Sidwell to finally get his comeuppance from Sonny! But first, watch the scenes where Sidwell comes out of hiding and blackmails Ezra Boyle.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante and ‘Nathan’ Have It Out, Valentin and Carly Share Passionate Moments Which May Be Their Last

Published

on

By

On the June 16 episode of General Hospital, the PCPD under acting police commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is in a bit of mess and does not go unnoticed by ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor).

First, there is the whole Chase (Josh Swickard) defending Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) over Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who he arrested for allegedly tossing Willow in the waters next to the Quartermaine boathouse. Turner has had it with Chase’s good guy act and how he tampered with evidence in her case against Willow for shooting Drew.

Later, Dante and Justine question “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) about Sidwell’s escape while in his custody. Turner is not buying his cover story that he was ambushed by Sidwell and his men. Once “Nathan” left the interrogation room, Turner went in on Dante about having “Nathan” on the force after seven years away, and Chase she views as a “dirty cop.”

However, Dante defends both of his officers, but Justine warned that “Nathan” and Chase’s behavior would reflect poorly on Dante as commissioner and she should really think about that. Later, Dante has a terse confrontation with “Nathan” on how he botched a prison transport and that he better watch his back as Justine is one step away from turning this over to Internal Affairs.

COP MADNESS

Next, “Nathan” apologizes for the way he handled the situation with Rocco and says he feels badly. But then in the twist, Dante said that he was grateful that “Nathan” had been there for his son in his time of need (referencing after Rocco shot Cullum and covered it up).

Then, there’s the newest police officer in the precinct, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett). He may actually be on to “Nathan’s” double life when he questions him about a syringe found in Britt’s room at Bobbie’s. “Nathan” made up a story to counter Joe’s, that he was not aware that his sister was taking anything for her Huntington’s disease diagnosis. Joe called the forensic department lab wanting to know what drug was exactly in the syringe.

BEFORE YOU GO

At Carly’s (Laura Wright), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) tells her that he must travel to Geneva to speak to the head of the WSB, named Z. Valentin feels it’s the only way to save Josslyn if he informs Z about Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) being a double agent. Valentin shares with Carly that he has to stop Cullum from bringing his dangerous cold fusion device online. Carly is beside herself. She doesn’t want Valentin to sacrifice himself by turning himself into the organization who has made him a fugitive in the first place. Valentin stands firm that he must meet Z in person.

Knowing that revealing himself to the WSB meant he was likely going back to prison, Valentin asked Carly if she’d get in touch with his daughter, Charlotte so he could say good-bye to her. Next, Carly and Valentin make their way to the bedroom to make love, which may be for the very last time, if Valentin is caught and put back in Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison.

CAUGHT BY CULLUM

At the same time while at Wydemere, Cullum is talking with one of his WSB operatives. Now, he is pondering if Valentin and Sidwell were working together all along.  Next, Cullum entertains the idea of involving the FBI to locate Britt and Rocco. He says he plans to kill them both once he knows of their whereabouts. Cullum sees the only other threat to the completion of the cold fusion project to be Anna Devane.

Cullum wants to track the location of the unidentified person who called the private clinic in France trying to get in touch with Anna, while pretending to be Kevin Collins. When the agent came back with a report, he says it emanated from a cell tower near Shoreline Road. It’s in the that moment that a light bulb goes on for Cullum! Valentin is in Port Charles and hiding at Carly’s!

So, what do you think of the PCPD cops, Chase, Joe and “Nathan?” Who should Dante fire? Do you think Valentin will go the run?Are you digging Carly and Valentin’s relationship and want it to continue, especially with Finola Hughes on her way back as Anna next month on-screen? Weigh-in via the comment section, and in case you missed it, you can check out our latest interview with Dominic Zamprogna below from his appearance on the Michael Fairman Channel, where he talks the PCPD cops, Rocco on the run, and more.
