The Most Shocking DAYS Ever? EJ Shot? Is This James Scott's Exit Story? Watch The Promo!

It’s a can’t miss week starting on Monday, October 6th for James Scott and EJ DiMera fans, as from the looks of it, in this newly released promo for Days of our Lives, shots ring out and it could be EJ who is the target! Does he get shot?
What we already know: Susan (Eileen Davidson) returned to tell her son that she has a very bad feeling that he is in danger. Meanwhile Clyde (James Reade), who EJ is doing some dirty business dealing with to get DiMera Enterprises back on track (since Sami and Kate’s takeover), has plans of his own to take EJ down and even told his co-conspirator Jeremiah!
Meanwhile, in the NBC promo, Sami (Alison Sweeney) is in the park and hears shots ring out and says, “EJ”? Couple that with this photo posted at NBC.com that says,”Sami makes a startling discovery,” and you have all the earmarks of the beginning of James Scott’s exit storyline!
So, what do you think? Will EJ be shot? Will he die? Is it a set-up and he is alive? Watch the promo for next week’s DAYS below which starts with things looking very bleak for Theresa (Jen Lilley) as John (Drake Hogestyn) remembers what happened the night he got clubbed in the head!
I think if anything, they’ll “kill” E.J. off or fake his death so that he can return later like Stephano always does when he “dies.” E.J. is too much of an important character and I doubt they would kill him off completely.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! Is that how they write EJ out of the show? I certainly hope not. I’d hope the door would be open for the character’s return even if James Scott isn’t interested. Wait and see.

I hope Jen Lilley’s contract isn’t up. If it is and it isn’t renewed , a big mistake is in the works. She is an absolute flawless actress. I love that face….I really don’t want to look at John’s. If he talks, she’s a goner.
Perhaps, everyone will think he’s hallucinating….Marlena should get hit in the head too, so they can both commiserate their boring bad luck.
First John will keep it a secret that Theresa struck him with a fireplace poker…instead John will use the info to blackmail her to stay away from Brady…as for E.J. if Sami finds him shot he’ll need extensive rehabilitation to walk again and they leave town to get it, or he will be in a severe coma and they will leave town for that, or he’s dead and a grieving Sami decides to leave town because of it, or E.J. isnt dead and he and Sami flee town because of the danger as Susan predicted, or E.J. shot Clyde and flees town not to be caught…many possibilities…meanwhile Chad takes over the Dimera mansion and Dimera Enterprises and Theresa becomes his new love interest but Chad still loves Abigail and Theresa still loves Brady…however, Chad and Theressa are attracted to each other and Theressa finds she is pregnant with twins and a new Dimera dynasty is born…but Theressa and Brady had a secret affair behind everyones back so are the twins a Dimera or a Brady…shocking twist:THEY’RE BOTH!!! One twin is a Dimera and the other is a Brady! Only in daytime folks…lol…but this isnt a spoiler…just my wishful thinking!!!
Brady Black isn’t a Brady if that is what you are saying– Theresa is half a Brady; John, Brady’s father thought he was a Brady, then he thought he was an Almain, then he thought he was a Dimera, now he doesn’t know who he is again—-so John and Isabella’s son is a product of whoever John is and Isabella was from Italian family.
As for the twin thing didn’t they already do that when Sami was pregnant with Allie and Johnny– one twin was a Horton the other was a Dimera-? Although now they don’t even look like paternal twins– Johnny and Sidney look closer in age than Allie and Johnny who are supposed to be twins, but I digress.
I too think EJ will go into hiding to one of Stefano’s many mystery islands and Sami will join him there– only after everyone thinks EJ is dead and we are subjected to another fake funeral.

Your futuristic scenarios make absolute sense, jimh. Isabella was not fully Italian…she was Victor’s daughter, I know that much., otherwise, Brady would not be his grandson, non e’ vero? ( isn’t that true?…translation from the Italian). Theresa is a Brady…no matter which side of the family, she is part Brady. My mother’s maiden name is Stuart. She is still a Stuart after marriage. No?…It doesn’t matter ….it is in the DNA, not the name.

I do not believe that there is such a thing as paternal twins. Paternal means from the father side. Does not apply to twins. When referring to twins, the sets are either identical…the zygote from the same egg separates into two identical embyos……Or fraternal…there are two separate eggs that have been fertilized, thus two unidentical embryos. This is quite phenomenal. Two eggs would have to be present during ovulation…..normally it is only one.
So, jimh, do you agree with me that Theresa should stay?

Yes this IS what will happen. Years ago when ej was shot during his first or maybe second wedding to sammi, i said it was the then young will and although it took years to come out i was right. Same here ej was wearing a bullet proof vest and that was a device spewing fake blood. He didnt tell sammi because it had to be real to her until his reveal. Two clues: kids spilling red punch on kitchen table was an easter egg hinting fake blood to viewers and the emts said ” he stopped bleeding” which they meant he bled out but that wouldnt have happened so fast. All three kids will be at mansion with roman but he will be in on it and get them to a waiting plane where ej and sammi will be with Susan! Noone including stephano will know. Roman will tell everyone that sammi and kids needed to leave in witness protection until shooter found

Well I hope something good happens. With a few minor exceptions, Days has been a giant snoozefest for weeks. And exactly what couples are we supposed to be rooting for? Jennifer constantly doubts Daniel — why should we root for them as a couple? Eric verbally crucifies Nicole evertyime he sees her — again why should we root for them? Abs and whatever Tool she is paired with are like an instant sleeping pill. Ben is an anger management case waiting for therapy. Again why root for them? And Jordan? Where to start? She is quite possibly the most insipid character I’ve seen on a show in years. The mystery of her past was so slow to unravel that I lost any interest that I may have had and quite frankly the reveal was a yawn.
Days has much talent in their acting stable. They should be used good stories and good couplings that makes the audience want to root for them.

EJ’s death is a definite “fake”. EJAMI are end game—Sami will join EJ in a few weeks–new beginning for them in a different country is how EJAMI will end!

I know EJAMI will be end game with happily, ever after. I can’t imagine Days without EJAMI. I definitely will stop watching when EJAMI are off screen. Everything else on Days is boring and pathetic in my opinion.
An immense thank you to James and Alison for portraying the best duo on Days and probably on daytime soaps. They are so natural together with extraordinary chemistry. No other duo comes remotely close to this awesome couple portrayed by the beautiful talented Alison Sweeney and talented, handsome, charming James Scott.
I agree with everything you said. Bo and Hope used to be the hot couple years back. But that story line is old now.
It looks like john will say theresa but that’s too obvious so i think he will say kristin as a way of helping eric & getting her out of brady’s life.
I just want to say with Sami & EJ gone there is not one couple with any chemistry on the show – zip none!! Days will be so boring – and the new Chad should be taller!

So sad, shocked, and dismayed the writers would off EJ. Stephano can’t live forever and Chad is an dweeb, can’t stand his character. If there is any good in the writers, they will figure out how to let EJ rise from the ashes as his father has done so often. Hate to see what they have planned for Sami. The show is sure going down the tubes without them. I’ve watched, loyally, every episode for over thirty years? I am seriously thinking of taking it off my DVR list now. Good luck DOOL. Writing your good characters out seems dumb to me. Maybe they are doing it on purpose? Is the end of the show nearing? Don’t think I will know, oh well, huh?
I Think DOOL has been going down hill for along time. James Scott and Allison Sweeny are a leaving at a Good Time. The Story lines are boring also. The Writers are also Lame in my mind and boring. Bo and Hope need to leave too. If Peter comes back as Bo what a shame. It will not save DOOL. Time to say Good Bye to Days.

I couldn’t help crying on to-days’s show where E.J. gets.shot. I could almost feel the same horrible feelings and shock Sami felt when she tried to keep him alive and the disbelief when she was in the hospital and finally the morgue. That got me, the morgue scene. I sensed her horror and disbelief as she saw him lying on the slab and feeling for a heartbeat that wasn’t there. The tears were flowing I felt so bad for her.

Yes, I am in the same denial that Samantha is in….and I hope that I am right!! Bawled like a baby when they they kissed in the park after saying each other’s names… and again, when she couldn’t hear his heartbeat!! Maybe this is just a goodbye to the man we knew as EJ Dimera, complete with death certificate… but soon hello to his new identity?? He said he would do anything for his family…and go anywhere. If that picture on the mantel is EJ’s with the urn in front… you can’t very well ID the body!!) Remember…JS came back to tape his final day on May 2nd…. maybe that is the day when he reveals that he is alive and they leave for good (not the death scene!) Did I hear Roman say he was going to “hate tonight”…maybe because they have to play this out as real and witness Sami’s pain???? Did EJ cut a deal with the Feds / Police in exchange for the witness protection program for his family to turn in Mr. Westin or the Phoenix? OK…I am just exhausted…so here it is… Ken Corday & DAYS Of OUR LIVES…if you have not saved EJ Dimera in some living form or another….YOU ARE DEAD TO ME!!! (Italian accent implied!)
1st agenda: EJ is faking his death with the help of his thug side-kick. EJ rarely loses his cool, so to punch Mr. Westin, is not his style. Mr Westin thinks that the thug is in league with him, when really, he is helping EJ fake his death. Not sure Sami is in on this yet, but the time will come when she is clued in… then she and the kids will have to decide to leave with him or not (not a very hard decision- rermember they talked about fake IDs not too long ago!) Agenda #2-Mr. Westin may freak out and realize he needs to get out of Salem before he gets in trouble with the police (and the Dimeras- should they want revenge) He is another loose end that EJ would like to see eradicated. Then our sweet EJamily can start over in another town…hopefully near me!!

EJ will be back the shot his sister gave him was to bring him back he had nothing did to his body yet they just cleaned him up that’s all so Same could see him she was losing her mind over him I think his father has him this is what I think to bring him back to life that is what was in that shot she gave him

I will never forgive Days for EJDiMera dying in a pile of dirt by a day player. No matter how the show tried to fix this shit fest ending, they screwed over their finest Leading Man this Century. EJ and Samantha deserved a HEA not the likes of pimped and propped pairing Chad/Abby.

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali
Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.

In a metaphor for the start of the school year and their upcoming anniversary in November, Days of our Lives revealed its “Class of Season 62,” with a very clever yearbook montage on their social media handles, welcoming new cast members, while paying respect to the veterans and “class”-iying the other characters in Salem.
The official Days of our Lives Instagram account shared on the posting, “The Class of Salem Season 62 has arrived. Familiar faces, new names and plenty of personality. Flip through our yearbook for a peek at this year’s class.”
Let’s take a look at how they broke it all down: The Salem Yearbook starts with saying “another unforgettable season,” with some group pics, and then we dovetail into Salem’s new class which features: Sydney Malakeh (Sydney DiMera), Brandon Butler (Mason Whitfield), Angelica Nero (Victoria Kiriakis), Cole Gersmeyer (Thomas DiMera) and Lorelei Olivia Mote (Rachel Black).

Next up, are the likes of: Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez), John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip Kiriakis), Tyler Joseph Andrews (Theo Carver) and LeeAnn Hopkins (Joy Wesley). Then, in the “Drama Club” section are: Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera) and AnnaLynne Cipriani (Cat Greene).
Following the ‘Recess” section with some group snaps, comes “Homeroom Highlights” with: Abigail Klein (Stephanie Johnson), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Rob Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant).
The “Salem Spectator” section features: Conner Floyd (Chad DiMera), Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Stowers again, and Ashely Puzemis (Holly Jonas). In the “Afternoon Sweets” section look for: Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) and Linsey Godfey (Sarah Horton), Emily O’ Brien (Gwen Rizchech), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera/Susan Banks), Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), plus Jackée Harry (Paulina Price).
Towards the end of the yearbook, veteran performers such as: Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Josh Taylor (Roman Brady) are featured, plus Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiraikis) with her on-screen daughter, Linsey Godfrey.
The Salem Yearbook comes to a conclusion noting “Big things happening in Salem” and to tune-in on Peacock, where we also find Jacob Martinez (Javi Hernandez), Maggie Carney (Rita Lesley), and a host of other favorites previewing what’s to come this fall.

‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others
As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?
