THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Adam Convinces Jack He Is The Real McCoy!

Courtesy/CBS
On yesterday’s episode of CBS number one daytime drama, The Young and the Restless, Adam (Justin Hartley) finally has come forward, to a key person from his past … Jack Abbott! But would Jack believe this guy with a unrecognizable face?
Adam always thought of Jack as his “father” and not “the moustache” Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as he explains during their encounter. So, it seems if Adam was going to have some Genoa City ally this might be it, so it’s worth taking the chance to expose who he is to Jack.
In key scenes after showing up at Jack’s house, at first Jack doesn’t believe Adam and calls it a “sick joke” when he says he is Adam. However, Adam insists he knows things that the two of them shared, and that no one else could possibly know, not even someone pretending to be Adam! It culminates when Adam brings up what happened to the call girl’s body, and what they did with it! Adam tells Jack the last words he said to him about it, and it is then that Jack finally believes him and sucker punches Adam right in the kisser!
Finally, Adam recalls the events of how he survived being trapped in the car after the accident with Billy (then Billy Miller, and now played by Burgess Jenkins), and the explosion that followed. He notes he was pulled out of a river, and woke up in a strange house with his face bandaged. We then see a flashback of Sage (Kelly Sullivan) calling him Gabriel. Adam then reveals that the real Gabriel Bingham died saving him. He got some much needed assistance in getting a new face from Sage, and her help in a cover-up including bribing the coroner in regards to dental records.
Jack is furious and thinks Adam was so desperate to get away with killing little Delia that he concocted this whole set-up to save his ass! Adam swears it all by chance! When Jack picks up the phone … to which it looks like he is calling the police, when Adam asks who he is dialing, Jack says he’s calling Billy!
So, what did you think of the scenes? What did you think of the performances between Justin Hartley and Peter Bergman? Are you glad slowly, but surely Adam is being integrated back into the canvas, and the story is picking up a lot of steam? What do you think of the back-story on Adam/Gabriel and Sage’s part in all of this? Do you think that Billy will have a showdown with Adam? Or, is that much further down the line and yet to come in the story? Share your thoughts below!
Was happy to see Adam and Jack together,
with Adam becoming integrated with people he knows.
I had had about all I could take of Adam in that dreary room for so long.
Sage…hmm. I like the actress herself. but Sage’s bossiness and constant scolding is old.
I hope that her character is short-lived.
GREAT GREAT show again! Love YR with this new Adam. Justin H is awesome. I really want SHARON AND ADAM back together again like that deep passion love and friendship they had. Nick can’t be trusted! Team Shadam 🙂
I agree. Justin, like Gina as the new Phyllis, is hitting it out of the ball park. I really believe he IS Adam and this comes from a die hard Michael Muhney fan. I really didn’t think a recast was possible.
One thing, however, which is driving me even more nuts than I already am.
No one, not Adam, and not Chelsey, ever mention that Adam did not realize until days later that he hit Delia. It keeps being repeated that Adam just “left her there to die” and it’s said in such a way as to indicate that he knew he had hit her.
Moreover, it was Billy’s negligence which caused the tragedy to begin with. If it had not been Adam’s car which hit the little girl, it would have been someone else’s.
I love Shadam together. They could support each other but Adam is obsessed with Chelsea.
I thought I saw a glimmer of that in the restaurant scene. I want it too. He’s a great actor and really brought this role to life but Chelsea can’t act off him at all. All she does is grin.
I agree I would love to see him with Sharon rather then Chelsea
I ENJOY SAGE ,CAN’T WAITE TO SEE WHO SHE’S CONNECTED TO IN GC ,
i agree Adam in that dreary home was depressing I felt like I was watching “Misery” and ya Sage is annoying me she needs to back off of Adam or be written off the show
I believe everything was handled smoothly but there’s no need to rush into it. Take some time telling the story.
Yes, keep us guessing a little longer.
I think considering Justin doesn’t have a history of working with Peter he did a good job of conveying there is history with the characters they play. Part of me is still trying to imagine MM under JH’s face, but I think in time that will fade so I am cautiously optimistic that this recast will work long term as long as the writing doesn’t tank.
There was a teaser at the end of Friday’s show in Canada that adds another level to this story, but I won’t spoil it for America fans by saying what it was, but I am looking forward to seeing it played out.
Tell Us! Tell Us! We demand to know the teaser!…kidding…what if he really is Gabriel and not Adam…he could be programmed to think he is Adam…sorry, been watching too much GH…lol
Mary SF, I believe that the YR Brass was smart in taking their time in recasting Adam. I thoroughly enjoyed MM in the role but he’s happy now. Justin is not new to the soap scene and I think he could add some layers to Adam’s role. I can say that I look forward to what is ahead.
Mary, so true. Burgess and Peter didnt click right away as brothers but Justin and Peter together looked as if they had been working together for ten years!
MARY SF ,I ‘M LOOKING FOEWARD TO WHAT WE SEEN AT THE END OF FRIDAY’S SHOW IN CANADA, I LUV MM ,BUT JH IS DOING A GREAT JOB .IT HELPS THAT MM LIKES JH ,AND IS HAPPY,
After seeing Sage at Delia’s memorial site I just have a feeling that Ganriel and not Adam ran down Delia jmo
Good possibility…maybe Sage could also be a suspect too?
A long time ago I thought Mason did it. Mason??? Who is Mason??. Well for those who forgot Mason was Hilary’s boy toy helping her gaslight the Winters family. He was also caught stealing Devon’s identity — the reason I thought it was him was because one scene had him reading something on the computer about the accident and after he read it he got all nervous and ran out of the club. He looked like a man who was guilty of something. But then we never saw him again, so if he ever was a possibility with all the changes in writers it must of have put an end to it. So now anything is possible, but I do think eventually Adam will be cleared.
Yeah, was was she doing at Dee Dee’s memorial site? Did she run her over from the get go and been visiting the site out of guilt this past year even though we havent seen her there before?
I could invest in that theory because it could add new dimension to the story.
SAGE WAS JUST LOOKING FOR ADAM .IT WAS OF THE PLACES SHE THOUGHT HE MIGHT BE,SAGE THINKS ADAM DID IT .SO DOES CONSTANCE,THAT WHY CONSTANCE CALLED ADAM DESPICABLE.ONE OF THE REASON SAGE DOESN’T WANT ADAM TO BLOW IT ,BESIDES BEING AFRAID OF GOING TO JAIL ,FOR HELPING HIM ,IS SHES AFRAID FOR CONATANCE ,SHE DOESN’T WANT CONATANCE TO FIND OUT THAT GABRIEL DIED SAVING THE LIFE OF THE MAN THEY THINK KILLED A INNOCENT CHILD.
I think Justin did a great job as Adam but I think Chelsea is blowing it on him with her constant smiling at him. She sees Sage twice and asks “are you following me” but she’s met Adam/ Gabriel starring at her in a restaurant & smiling at him just walked by. Then sees him in the park starring at her & again smiling says “I know you “. She needs to act like he’s a stranger to her which at this point he is. Not well played Chelsea. Excellent job Justin!
CHELSEA THOUGHT SHE MIGHT BE A TABLOID REPORTER.
I can understand that but what I don’t understand is how Chelsea (who is in love with Billy) keeps smiling every time she sees Adam. At this point he’s a stranger to her.
Not Melissa’s fault … bad writing/direction.
You could be right. I think he’s great with Sharon. I just don’t like him with Chelsea at all.
All I know is can’t wait to have plastic surgery and come back 3 inches taller buff and 10 years younger. Wake me when this nightmare is over MM fans you can catch him tonite on ION!!!!
We fans of MM all love him and miss him but he’s happier now and wants us to be nice not to mention Justin is doing a super job.
Justin is hitting it out of the park as Adam. Who would have thunk? One possibility and this is a big MAYBE is down the road IF they ever brought back Michael Muhney Justin’s Adam could turn out to be a sham and he could turn out to be Gabriel and not Adam. It would be a great story to write but who knows if Sony and or MM ever want to work together again?
I try to like the nuAdam..(1 he is way too tall ..
Justin is good, but he is not thee Michael Muhney Adam he is the one who stole my heart ..
what a mess with the 3 replacements, what a mess..
it just is not the Y&R I was once really liked to watch, no longer there..
I know su000 its tough without Michael but I doubt he will ever be on Y&R again so I watch Justin and he is pretty good. I look at it like this. You go to a fair and you cannot wait for one of their famous raspberry sno cones. You get them every year! You get to the far and their out of raspberry! Damn it! Well, they do have blueberry and its pretty good. Ok, I’d rather have A sno cone than NO sno cone!
It wasn’t Sony’s problem H.H. started all the trouble and for the most part she’s not even a good actress. I can tell you where I live very few people like her. I know one person that won’t watch the show Monday & Tuesday because it’s usually all about Summer.
I know but thats who he worked for. I heard that Eric Braden didnt like him either. In any event, I agree with you and your friends, Hunter is a trouble maker and she is horrible on the show.
I agree with you Timmm, but Y & R will never get rid of her now. There to afraid she may stir the pot again about MM. I’m afraid she’s there for good so it gives my mute button some exercise. Now that they are bringing Jack’s son Kyle back we will have to go through her break-up,then Fenmore will be jealous, then she’ll be with Kyle. So as you see she’s there for good.
MASON WAS THE ONE WHO REFUSED TO CHANGE SHARON’S DRUGS FOR VICTOR .B/C VICTOR DIDN’T WANT SHARON TO BE WELL ,I WISH HE’D COME BACK TO TESTIFY FOR SHARON.
CAN’T WAITE FOR CHELSEA TO FIND OUT HOW BILLY KEPT ADAM FROM TURNING HIMSELF IN.TO KICK HIM TO THE CURB,ADAM LOVES HER ,SAGE CAN TELL HER THAT,I ALWANT ADAM N SHARON TO BE FRIENDS ,BUT HE N CHELSEA ARE SOULMATES.
NIKKI WAS DRIVING DOWN THAT ROAD ,SHE WAS DISTRAUGHT EARLIER CRYING AT THE COFFE SHOP.IT COULD HAVE BEEN HER ,SHE HAS A HISTORY OF BLOCKING THINGS SHE CAN’T HANDLE.VICTORS WITNESS SEEN ADAM SWERVE TO AVOID THE PUPPY ,HE DID NOT SEE ADAM HIT DEE OR ADAM DRIVE OVER HER,ADAM HAS SAID HE SAW NOTHING AND FELT NOTHING.THERE HARDLY ANY DAMAGE ,AND THE SCARF WAS TIED TO THE HAT ,DEE DROPPED THE HAT WHILE CHASING DASH ,SHE LEFT IT ON THE ROAD ,AND KEPT RUNNING AFTER THE PUPPY,ADAM COULD HAVE DRIVEN OVER THE HAT,THATS HOW THE SCARF GOT CAUGHT TO THE CAR.TIP OF THE HAT COULD HAVE BROKE THE LIGHT,IN ANY CASE ADAM SAGE CONSTANCE OR GABRIEL DID NOT HIT DEE.
This guy just isn’t Adam to me. I want Michael Muhney back asap. That scene wasn’t half as good as it could have been if Michael was in it. Sorry if feelings get hurt, but I have to be honest.
I tried to accept nuAdamn, not working, yet..
MM was a very strong presence and he was Adam..
what made it worse..
Sat, I watched a Christmas movie that Michael Muhney starred in, and wow it was sooooo great to see and hear Michael again!!!
I silently was thinking ”now, that’s Adam.. 😉
Justin is handsome, a good actor, but not Adam ..
I really like Justin, but he doesn’t do it for me as Adam. I know change is hard and with time he will be Adam. Also, I find him easy on the eyes but not that great of an actor.
I really enjoyed the December 20th episode. I am really enjoying the new Adam as well as the new Phylis. I wishing and hoping that they would do something about Billy. I was always under the impression that Jill was much younger than a John Abbott, therefore Billy was much younger than his siblings. To me, this Billy looks like he could be younger than Traci. Even though I wasn’t thrilled with the departure of Billy Miller, David Tom was doing a good job considering the heavy roll and shoes he had to fill. I am glad I reacquainted myself with General Hospital 2 years ago. Now I can get my Billy Miller fix and my Michelle Stafford fix all at once. I am waiting for AdamandChelsea to start in. This way Billy will wind up back with Victoria after she finds out about the shower Ashley took with Ben so Abby and her mother can start fighting over Ben. It is starting to pick up again. I just wish they would give Jill and Gloria more air time. Maybe now with Michael’s cancer we will see more of Gloria. I just wish they didn’t have to kill off Michael to do it. As the saying goes….tune in tomorrow!!!
Kelly Sullivan is an outstanding actress. She did an excellent job in Playing Connie Falcanary at General Hospital i cant wait to see what her charictor Sage has in store. I hope she stays she is really good.
Its really ashame that took out Deila so soon.
I love the new recast Adam, Justin Hartley, but it SUCKS that they always make Adam the black sheep. Today Victoria acted disgusted by him just because he said she had a cute baby. Come on!
I don’t want the character of Adam back if he is just going to be everyone’s punching bag. Please let’s see some character evolution here and cut the guy a break.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
