Earlier this month, The Young and the Restless killed-off the character of Cole Howard and, in turn, ended the return of J. Eddie Peck. Cole’s death occurred with his daughter, Claire (Hayley Erin) and the woman he loves, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), by his side as he passed away due to complications from Legionnaires’ disease. In heartbreaking scenes, played by the Emmy-winning actresses, Claire and Victoria try to come to grips with Cole’s death while grieving his passing in different ways.

Fans of the top-rated daytime drama series are hoping that the next leg of the life of Victoria Newman will propel her into new storylines and a new romance, while viewers are also hoping that Claire is about to return to the dark side. Michael Fairman TV caught up with one of our favorite people, Amelia Heinle, for this exclusive interview where not only does she take us behind the scenes of J. Eddie’s final day, but how she felt back in March when she celebrated her 20th anniversary as Y&R’s Victoria, a role she took over from Heather Tom back in 2005.

Through the years, Amelia has made Victoria her own, with the character becoming involved in numerous romances, raising several children, and being a chip off the old Newman block in the boardroom. While there is much to celebrate, this had also been an extremely difficult time for Amelia and her family when earlier this year she lost her home in the L.A. wildfires. Now figuring out what comes next (as so many people who have been displaced are having to do), Amelia speaks here for the first time on her outlook since the Palisades fire destroyed so many homes in its path. Here’s what Amelia had to share about life in and out of Genoa City.

What did you think of the whole story beat and having to say goodbye to J. Eddie Peck, who you’ve worked with for some time?

AMELIA: It was hard. It was a difficult to film that stuff because it was sad. It was written-well, and it made everybody very sad. I know how much that role meant to him. I felt for him and enjoyed working with him. You know, it was just one of those things that was really heartfelt. We knew the audience did not want to see him go this way, but we wanted to just try to make it as meaningful as we can. I think J. Eddie felt the same way. He wanted to make it really good and he wanted it to be a good exit.

Death scenes are hard to do while trying to also make it believable, and you want to make sure it resonates with the viewers. Did you feel the weight of what you were doing?

AMELIA: Dude, it’s not fun! It’s not a fun day when you have to do this type of material. It’s like real life. You can’t fake that kind of stuff. It’s either got to feel real when doing the scenes, or just don’t bother, because it’s a death and it’s like faking being sad for a death, and when you see that, it doesn’t come off. So, you actually have to put yourself there and it’s really hard, but it turned out good, I think. I didn’t see it when it aired, but I felt it (when we taped the scenes).

What is Victoria feeling now? Will she bounce back quickly?

AMELIA: Oh, she’ll recover! Where’s Nate (Sean Dominic)? No, I’m just kidding. (Laughs). I think, Victoria and Cole had good closure and in the writing as well. There was a couple of episodes where she had to get to say goodbye to the picture a couple times and then be like, “You’re not suffering anymore and you’re in a better place.” I think Victoria’s going to need some time to heal, and then in typical fashion, we’ll find her with someone else in town.

Everybody is believing it will be Nate who will pick up the pieces, as you just mentioned.

AMELIA: It might surprise the fans. I don’t know what Josh Griffith (EP and head writer, Y&R) has in mind. Right now, it’s all about Claire and making sure she is getting through it, and being a good mom to the kids.

Photo: JPI

How is it to work with Hayley Erin? Everyone is predicting the “bad and psycho” side of Claire will re-emerge!

AMELIA: Hayley’s great. I feel like it all happened so fast that I had another kid, right? That they bring her back from the dead. Once I wrapped my head around the fact that I have like seven kids on the show (laughs), I’m like, “OK, so another daughter?” However, Hayley was on Y&R before and she was a different character (Abby Newman) as everyone knows. I didn’t really get to know her back then because she wasn’t in my storyline. But, I love working with her. She’s a delight. She is so fun to talk to, and very easy to get along with. Everybody gets along with her. She fits right in. She is a great little actress. I love the fact that in real-life she’s got kids and she’s a mom and she’s a wife and everything at such a young age, which is cool, and I respect that. It reflects on her work. I love the fact that she’s so professional. She can handle a lot! They’ll throw her a lot of dialogue, and she knows it and she’ ready to go! Hayley’s also not fussy. She’s not high maintenance. I would a consider her a friend that I could hang out with.

Photo: JPI

When you found out that Y&R was going to flip the original story, and that baby “Eve” that Victoria had years ago that she thought had died in the hospital was actually alive, what was your initial reaction?

AMELIA: It wasn’t me who played the original story, that was Heather Tom, and it was so long ago. I knew the back-story a little bit, only because I think at one-time they touched on it with me and (the late) Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil Winters).  In the story, Neil came back into Victoria’s life and I believe he helped Victoria get through the loss of the baby. So, when I found out more recently, I was like, “OK. How would you do this?” It was written in the story of Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Claire, and when Hayley and I first starting having scenes together, I knew that we had a good chemistry.

Photo: JPI

Back in March, you celebrated your 20th anniversary as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless.

AMELIA: A true gift for my anniversary would be the fact that maybe Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria really aren’t related (laughs) and they can be together, finally!

I mean, when they run out of story maybe they’ll play that!

AMELIA: Oh, we’ve been pushing it for so long, so long. But I don’t think it’s going to happen. I don’t think the audience is ready!

Photo: JPI

Well, you know, shocking things on daytime are kind of what works these days, you know, instead of a constant repetitive pattern. So, I think anything like that is good, you know?

AMELIA: Right. It wakes them up a little bit. Everybody was watching Game of Thrones. I’m going to use that as example because a lot of it was, “What? Wait! Oh, my gosh. I can’t believe they had this happen.” One of the storylines was about a brother and a sister, and it worked for that show. They were one of my favorite couples.

Photo: JPI

So, you had mentioned that there will be a new man in Victoria’s life, but do you ever get to make suggestions to the powers-that-be, or do you have to just play that into your scenes if you’d like to work with somebody?

AMELIA: That’s a really good question. I don’t ask for anything. It’s not my job. I have made jokes in the past, like, “Wouldn’t it be nice if, so and so from The Bold and Beautiful came over to our show?” Of course, I’m ‘tongue and cheeking’ it. Now, if they put somebody in your storyline path, you could always try to play (an attraction). I guess if there’s chemistry, but that doesn’t really happen for me that often. I’m just usually with the same people. The other day I had a scene with Jason Thompson (Billy) and I’m like, “Huh, I haven’t had a scene with him in a while!” I mean, we always play love beneath our relationship though, because he’s the father of Victoria’s kids and we’ll always love each other, and I know Jason always plays it too.

It would be nice to see Billy and Victoria kind of revisited. Don’t you think?

AMELIA: It’s been a while and we’ve had a nice time out. So, yes that would be good.

Photo: JPI

After J. Eddie filmed his final scenes and said goodbye to everyone, was it tough to watch him finish up? I knew as you were saying, he really wanted to come back to Y&R as Cole.

AMELIA: It was hard for that reason, because I knew it meant a lot for him to be there. He had an opportunity to give a little speech at the end of his last scene and it was touching. He said it was really the happiest time that he’d had in a long time. Every time I would talk to him, he would say, “I’m just so grateful to be here” J. Eddie was a really gracious person. So it was hard, in that respect, to see him go. I might have to do the same thing for myself one day. It’s just hard to watch. I know how he must feel. I thought he did a great job and I really thought he really gave it his all.

Photo: JPI

Do you think if Claire goes off the deep end that Victoria would figure it out and know what’s going on … or do you think she will be in the dark?

AMELIA: I loved when Hayley first came on and she was kind of fooling us all in the office as Claire. I think her personality layered that really well, because Hayley is kind of cut and dry when she talks in real life. It kind of lends itself to that sort of a story. I was disappointed when they started making her so good and, “I love kids.” I’m like, “No! I want you to be bad. You were so good, bad!” It’s more interesting. I hope they go back that direction. I think when they do, Victoria will figure it out, obviously, but it’ll probably take her awhile, because Victoria’s always a day late and a dollar short. But they write that! (Laughs)

Victoria’s a shrewd business woman. She can outsmart and maneuver people. However, in her home life, she’s not so much!

AMELIA: Hey, you know what? It’s a lot like real life sometimes. where we meet people that are really good in business and then terrible in their personal life, where you go, “Hey, she’s seriously dating that guy?” However, I would love to see Victoria figure out what is going on with her daughter.

Photo: JPI

Let’s talk about your 20th anniversary on Y&R. I can’t believe that many years has passed. When you knew you were coming into fill Heather Tom’s shoes as Victoria, were you worried at all being a new actress in the role and being accepted by the cast and the audience?

AMELIA: Yes. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to bring the same thing as Heather and I was worried. Ultimately, it worked out great. Heather was a great Victoria, and then I got to bring something different to it. I just kind of had to have faith in that. I just knew it was going to be a little bit of a rocky transition because it was so different. I knew people, at first were going be like, “Well, you’re not tough enough. She was so tough and she was so ballsy.” I even had somebody say that to me once, and I’m not going to say who it was, but it really made me mad. I was like, “I can’t wait for them to eat their words.” The person who said also said, “Oh, you’re going to have to just toughen up.” Maybe, they thought that that’s what I should be, but what they needed to see was what I ultimately ended up doing with the part.

Photo: JPI

Was there a moment when you felt you fit in or clicked with the actors who play the Newmans? Did you find right away that Eric Braeden (Victor) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) were welcoming, or did you have to win them over?

AMELIA: No. I did not have to win them over. They would have their jokes and they all had their camaraderie that I slowly had to tap into, because you can’t just throw yourself in there and try to pretend like you’re one of them. But, it didn’t take that long. I just observed and I was very cautious about not wanting them to think I think I am all that. I wasn’t desperate because I just wanted them to like me for me. So, I waited and then it paid off because they do. It’s an inseparable little family that we have.

What was Joshua Morrow’s reaction when he first saw you? Was he like, ‘She is going to be my sister?” (Laughs)

AMELIA: We just recently watched a video clip that was when we had our first scene together. Joshua came over to me, and he’s like, “Oh, my gosh! We have so much chemistry, like the wrong kind of chemistry. in that first scene!” I’m like, “I know, I know.” I remember the producer came down and said, “You guys look great together, but you have to remember your brother and sister. Right? Just remember that.” Watching that scene again recently, I could still see it. So unprofessional. (Laughs)

Photo: CBS

Y&R had put together that very touching tribute to you for your 20th anniversary where many of your castmates congratulated you. The takeaway for me after watching it was that it was clear that you are their favorite person at the studio and in real life.

AMELIA: I was touched. I sent it to my parents because they don’t watch the show and they didn’t know it was my 20th year. My dad called me and he was almost crying and he doesn’t cry. He is a cowboy, and he said, “I was so happy to see that video because that’s exactly what I’ve always said about you.” It was so sweet and it makes me emotional right now just talking about it, because that meant so much to me; that he was happy that people that are in my world and in my life felt the same way about me, and that he does.

It was so touching because Y&R just taped your castmates off the cuff remarks about you, and it was all so complimentary and exemplary. They kept speaking of your nature as the sweetest girl and the one who cares about everyone.

AMELIA: I am lucky. I fell into a great group of people that just vibe with me and I vibe with them. It’s a blessing to be around all these people. I guess that’s why I lasted 20 years. That makes me feel so good, and it made feel better while I’m going through a hard time in my life.

Photo: JPI

How are you doing now with processing losing your home in the devastating Palisades fire earlier this year?

AMELIA: Actually, it’s been kind of liberating to sort of start over, especially when you sadly lose all your belongings. I don’t want it to happen to anyone else. But for me. it’s actually kind of okay because you realize, what do you really have? Stuff doesn’t last anyway. The things that are important are the things that we have still. So, yes. I think I would’ve liked to have held onto my wedding dress. I was going to give that to my daughter, Georgia, one day, but that’s okay.

Are your two Daytime Emmys gone?

AMELIA: They were gone, but we were able to replace them.

I know you are a very private person and not on social media that much. Many have been watching the horror and the ravishes from the fires play out through Cameron Mathison (Drew, GH), who also lost his home. He’s been very public about what happened to him and his family and sharing his grief.  You are an example of how people dealing with these types of catastrophes, and who suffer personal loss, grieve in all different ways.

AMELIA: They do, and you can’t fault anyone for it. Although, sometimes I get annoyed when some of my friends that lost their homes were showing a little too much with it. But then, I realized they’re grieving in their own way, too. Just because I wouldn’t do it that way, it’s helped them. It’s cathartic for them. Some people are private and some take the other route which is fine. No judgment at all. Thad (Luckinbill) is that that way, too. He’s super private. So, I guess I kind of followed his lead a lot. I don’t know if it would make me feel any better to talk about it with anyone.

Photo: JPI

If you were to just tease what’s to come for Victoria and where she’s at emotionally in her life, what would you say? Where does she go from here?

AMELIA: Victoria is picking up the pieces and moving on, making sure her daughter’s mentally okay, while a little worried about her. I think Victoria’s focus is clear right now on Claire and her other kids. She’s probably not thinking that far ahead.  I think that she wants to get back to work and focus on ‘Newman.’ Whenever anything gets hard or goes wrong for her in her life, she kind of defaults back to ‘Newman’ and throwing herself into work. So, that’s where you will probably see my character coming up.

Photo: JPI

As we close, what would you say to the fans who stuck with you for 20 years as a Victoria Newman and have remained in your corner?

AMELIA: I would like to say, “Thank you for giving me the chance all these years. Victoria has had different boyfriends, and different situations and everybody’s always been so supportive. I really am in awe of how everybody just is so lovely. I know there’s a lot of mean things that people could say, but people have always been so supportive and kind. It is humbling. The fans are basically the only reason that we’re still on the air. I meet them in the airports, and I meet them here and there, and people are just great. They’re so genuinely kind about our show and so we’re blessed.”

So, what did you think of Amelia’s performances after Victoria watched Cole die? Are you rooting for Victoria to end up with Nate? Billy, or someone else? Do you agree at Amelia does that she would love to see Claire become a bad girl, again? What has been your favorite story of Victoria’s as played by Amelia during her 20 years on Y&R? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, in case you missed it, check out the very touching tribute to Amelia (referenced in our conversation above) featuring her Y&R co-stars from a few months back below.

My take away from this interview. Her parents don’t watch show? What? LOL!!!! I remember her first episode. I believe it was with Peter Bergman. Victoria was a little more artsy living in Paris. At first, I was a taken aback by the direction but Amelia quickly found her footing and place as Victoria, I know she’s very close to her Newman family which s nice to see. That said, her and Joshua Morrow wanting not to be related to get it on is hysterical. I know Josh says that Amelia is his #1 homey which even more sense now. LOL!!!!!

She had big shoes to fill⏤replacing the powerhouse that is Heather Tom⏤but I would say she’s done well at taking on the role and adjusting it to her Victoria, a more grown-up Victoria. And while the writing has [sometimes] not been beneficial, I would say she has really helped Victoria become what the character is today and has become the longest-tenured actor in the role.

As for the exit of J. Eddie Peck as Cole, I understand it, but it is disappointing because both he and Heinle had some real palpable chemistry with history, both between them as characters and also as actors from their pasts on All My Children, and it is incredibly rare that chemistry can be duplicated between actors on differing soaps, but they both proved that wrong.

Happy 20th anniversary, Ms Amelia, and here’s to another 20!

This is awesome! I’m glad she’s doing ok since the loss of her home. My hope is Victoria gets a story that’s not just about Claire. In the short term, maybe a romance with Nate once she heals. Long term it should be Billy. Billy and Victoria will always be the loves of eachother’s lives.

Victoria should be with Billy and Billy should be with Victoria. The last few Billy relationships have no worked at all, especially Chelsea and Sally.

Billy and Vickie
Sally and Cane
Chelsea and Adam
Nate and Amanda, or Audra, or other
And Lily gets a momentary sideline since she will most likely soon be on maternity leave
etc.

And then bring on the younger generation!!! – these couplings are all getting too old to be “Young” and the Restless. Its summertime and all we have been doing is watching 30/40/50/60/70 year olds running around in a freaking maze in the South of France with a timeline of a week at most while being captured on the “mountain” that only Adam can climb.

All of this is truly tortuous and I fastforward when I can but I do hope that this show can find its way

The news of Eileen Fulton’s passing, aka Lisa on As The World Turns, makes me reminesce about how fantiastic Douglas Marland’s brilliance was and I very much am happy that I was able to watch his incredible storytelling, and Eileen’s character portrayal was magnificent!

It will ALWAYS be Billy and Victoria. This was such a wonderful Monday morning surprise <3

Villy Forever!!!!!!!!! But Nick’s pretty cute too. So is Nate haha. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of her home with Thad but she has a good attitude about it.

Amelia was by far the best part of Cole’s death. She put in all the emotion to show Victoria’s hurt and pain and how scared she was to be alone. Great scenes with Chelsea too. Whichever way the show chooses to go romantically for her, I hope they take their time and do it right. But Victoria with Billy will always be my choice so I’m happy to hear she worked with Jason again. Hopefully Billy will become a better person.

AH crushed her scenes after Cole’s death. I felt for her the most. I hope we see more of her soon and less of the France stuff. Her scenes with Nate and Chelsea were also nice. I enjoyed Nate/Victoria and Billy/Victoria.

Love Amelia and enjoyed the interview. I’ve missed seeing her in business mode, behind the NE CEO desk. Is it known whether J. Eddie Peck’s return was intended to be short term; and/or was the departure his choice? Curious to know.

This is an opportune moment to revive Victoria and let her grow and thrive. I had hoped Victoria and Cole might have been solid for some time, a positive outcome from the unbelievable Clare is Alive story. Sorry, I just think is dumb. But… I would like to see Victoria stop kowtowing to her father and find success on her own, become sort of an anti-Newman. And give her romance that is sweeping and lasting, not with some loser from her past. And, I don’t know, maybe let her be a mom to her invisible kids, Johnny, Katy, and Reed. Parenting children, especially teens, provides some good drama. And Y&R could use an infusion of Y.

First of all I don’t think we could except a Victoria/Nick relationship. After so many years, even if you’re not biologically related it’s still ingrained. Also, why didn’t you ask her about Reed and why she seems to have forgotten about him?

What a true class act she is. It is clear from this interview alone why she is genuinely beloved and respected by her castmates.

I hope Amelia gets consideration for actress of the year in the end of the year column. She gave the best performance for Cole’s death despite the writing not being there at all and the whole show shoved off to Nice, France. Amelia carried that whole thing with her quiet brilliance.

I think all Trump supporters should be disqualified from receiving awards unless they apologize for helping to ruin the US.

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus Talks Humble Beginnings, Test and Albert, WrestleMania 22 with Mickie James, Current Women’s Roster (Exclusive)

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has had an incredible in-ring career, on and off for over 25 years. Having debuted as a heel back in 2000, she held the then WWE Women’s Championship for a record 445 days back in 2005 and into 2006, before dropping the title to her nemesis, Mickie James at WrestleMania 22, and is considered one of the best to ever to it by many in the women’s locker room, then and now. When it was her turn to be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2013, she chose Stephanie McMahon (this year’s Hall of Fame class 2026) to do the honors at the ceremony.

Fast forward and April’s WrestleMania 42 week in Las Vegas, Michael Fairman TV had a reunion with Trish for this very special interview. For when Trish started in the WWE, Fairman was working as a writer/producer for ‘Raw’ and ‘SmackDown’ and as told in their discussion, recalled how he worked with an upstart Stratus to help her learn her lines for her promos and more. Now two and half decades later, we caught up at Trish’s WrestleMania 42 pop up at Flankers at Mandalay Bay entitled First Crush by Trish Stratus. Trish had created an immersive experience for wrestling fans, Trish fans, and offered on stage Q&A’s with special guests and much more.

Backstage, she sat down with us to take a trip down memory lane, share her picks for WrestleMania 42 in the top women’s bouts (see if she predicted, correctly!) and talked some of her greatest moments. opponents. and friendships in the ring and out, plus what keeps getting her to come back when she has already accomplished so much in her iconic career.

TO SINK OR SWIM IN THE WWE

Trish shared on being a rookie in WWE with little to no experience, explaining, “I was thrown right into it. I was a fan of wrestling, watching it, enjoying it. Started to dabble into fitness modeling. So suddenly, I was kind of a public figure all of a sudden. Modeling is very different than actually speaking. They (WWE) literally threw me into the water and it was like sink or swim. The wrestling was one thing and they threw me out there for my first couple matches. Most people come up in the independent wrestling circuits. I had done some wrestling, but it was foundational kind of stuff. It wasn’t like performance yet and they gave me my first promo and I was the green one.

In the world of pro wrestling its all about getting the moment to prove yourself and making something out of it, Trish did just that when she became the beautiful manager/wrestler of the late Test and Albert, and suddenly they were known as .. yup … you remember … ‘T and A.”

BAD GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN

Photo; WWE

Stratus recalled, “I was sitting backstage waiting for them to find the storyline. I remember just chilling actually with Lilian Garcia (then the ring announcer.) We bonded right away. She was my little bestie. I was on the road for a couple weeks in a row and, and then finally they came to me like, ‘Today’s the day. … we’re putting you out there.’ So, there I was with Test and Albert, otherwise known as T-and-A … get it! Those were the days of the double entendres. We were told we were bad guys, and we had to flesh out our characters.   had to get people to boo me right off the bat.”

“I love being a heel” Stratus said passionately. However, when she comes out of retirement or makes special appearances, or comes back for a lengthy storyline she prefaces it with, “The thing for me to come back to the business for a little while means leaving my kids. I have to make sure that it checks all the boxes, right? I want be challenged as a performer, number one. I want to make sure I’m coming back and giving back to the businesses. Not just being self-serving.  So, when I can check those boxes, it’s exciting, and makes it fun to come back.”

BECKY LYNCH AND MICKIE JAMES

Photo: WWE

Trish revealed her favorite WrestleMania moments through the years and her perfect opponents; the women she feels she created magic with in the ring. “When I returned in 2023, we had done the babyface come back. I’ve come back and they’re cheered me and they’re excited to see me. Nobody expected that, and that’s what I love doing. I love the unexpected. I was working with Becky Lynch.  I knew she was the perfect babyface to be a bitch to and to turn on; bringing in the bestie so that I could turn on her with all those years of history, that’s juicy to me. I love it.”

As to her WrestleMania match resume, it was an easy pick fo Stratus, “I’m going to do with Mickie James WrestleMania 22. We like to call us the hashtag ‘longest rivalry in history.’ Becky Lynch and I might have rivaled that rivalry just because we did have a lot. But, I’m all about the stories, and to make sure there’s a meaning behind it. I want to foreshadow a little. I want to understand what my character’s thinking when I go into this. We had the fans captivated. I think at WrestleMania 22, with the way the crowd reacted and the way they were so invested in our storyline, I feel like we got them.”

Proud of what she and Mickie accomplished, Trish added, “They were like, ‘the women can hold a crowd, like the men can.’ I think that was like the moment we kind of had arrived. I have to say the Jazz/Trish stuff, the Victoria/Trish stuff, this is all stuff that planted the seeds. Mickie James and I, right there at WrestleMania, and we’re talking about a WrestleMania moment. I’m also going to give a shout out to WrestleMania 19 with Jazz and Victoria and Steven Richards … who took the best Stratusfaction I’ve ever seen!”

THE STACKED WWE CURRENT WOMEN’S ROSTER

While WrestleMania 42 is in the record books, we asked the Hall of Famer, her picks for the key women’s championship title match-upsbetween: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan, AJ Lee vs. Becky Lee, and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley as you will see below in our video chat.

Trish went three for three and had nothing but high praise for all six of the women who laid it all on the line less than two weeks ago at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Now below, watch this exclusive conversation with Trish Stratus. For more WrestleMania 42 week interviews, make sure to check them out on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Y&R’s Christel Khalil Talks the Emotional Winters Family Turns of Events; Shemar Moore, and Lily and Cane’s Future (Exclusive)

Published

By

This week on The Young and the Restless, viewers have been served up an emotional series of scenes and episodes centering around the return of Malcolm Winters played by Shemar Moore, who returns to Genoa City to ask his daughter, Lily for her help (Christel Khalil).

In story, Malcolm has aplastic anemia and needs a bone marrow transplant and his best option is a family member. However, things turn bleak when they both learn that she cannot be his donor because Lily previously had cancer. Enter Dr. Stephanie Johnson, the also returning Vivica A. Fox, who tells her son, Holden (Nathan Owens) and Malcolm, that Holden is his biological son! This admission gives Malcolm a chance at a donor match to save his life.

Now, Christel Khalil, who recently came back to the CBS soap opera following her maternity leave, and the birth of her third child, chatted all about the new complex family dynamics, working with Billy Flynn as her new Cane, and Lily being in cahoots with Victor Newman, and more in a new conversation on the Michael Fairman Channel. Here are some of the takeaways below!

Courtesy/CBS

Working with Shemar Moore again and their touching scenes in front of Neil Winters’ portrait

CHRISTEL: “It’s always amazing to have anyone come back that’s been away for a while, but especially, Shemar. It’s all the history with him being Lily’s dad. For me, it’s been 20 years of knowing him. Obviously, I don’t get to talk to him or hang out with him and that kind of thing. So it was just nice just to see him again and have that moment around Neil’s portrait, and to be able to share that together and even talk about that off-camera. It’s just special and feels like family, which is nice.”

The emotional scenes with Malcolm and learning Lily has a brother

CHRISTEL: “It’ a great story. I love when anything is grounded in reality where people who have maybe gone through the same thing can relate and it can help people I feel like that happened when Lily had cancer on the show. It’s nice to see something really heart-based, really family-based. I feel like we haven’t been able to see that with Lily in a long time. Then, finding out that she has a brother, I thought that was really amazing.”

Working with Nathan Owens

CHRISTEL: “I love Nathan. We have so much fun together. We’re already teasing and joking each other on set like brother and sister, so it’s really nice. I was really excited to find out that he was part of the family, which is I think more interesting.”

Shemar Moore returning to tape more episodes

CHRISTEL: “I haven’t read that far ahead, but there must be something happening because when Shemar returns, I know a lot of people are involved in something. So we’ll see!”

Lily’s involvement in faking her own abduction

CHRISTEL: “When I first read it I was like, ‘Yikes, that’s really bad. It’s very not like Lily.’ It seemed very out of character for her. But then, as I started reading more and learning more about the reasons behind doing it, I actually really liked it. I see what some of what the fans say and they’re like, ‘Lily’s always on her high horse and she’s always, little ‘Miss Goodie Two Shoes.'”

Lily with an edge

CHRISTEL:“Oh yeah, she can definitely be bitchy for sure. I think when she’s bitchy, it’s because she’s usually judging someone else. I think this was a nice thing to kind of temper the judgment that she’s always giving where it’s like, ‘Ok, you do some things wrong too, so let’s just relax.'”

Billy Flynn

CHRISTEL: “I love Billy. He’s such a sweet, amazing guy, and an amazing actor and very professional. We have a great time together.  I like how they’ve really switched up the Cain character completely. He’s not trying to be the old cane. It’s a completely new cane and you know, I think we have good chemistry together. So, t’s been really fun to play with him and there’s some exciting stuff coming up. Hopefully, everyone likes it.”

Phyllis and Lily’s history

CHRISTEL: “Lily’s always annoyed with Phyllis, right? Michelle Stafford and I always have  conversations where I’m like, ‘You killed my mom.’ She’s like, ‘No! I didn’t. She let go! ‘(in reference to Dru falling off a cliff) To know that Phyllis and Cane had a thing, is very disturbing to Lily.”

Now below, check out our full conversation with Christel on the homecomings of Shemar Moore, Vivica A. Fox and welcoming Nathan Owens to the Winters clan, plus the drama ahead for Lily.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s’ Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Talks What’s Next for Steffy Forrester (Exclusive)

Three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is celebrating nearly two decades as Steffy Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. Last September, she returned to the CBS daytime drama after her most recent maternity and giving birth to her 5th son.

Now back at the soap opera and a mom of five, Michael Fairman TV caught up with Jacqui at the recent launch party for the BBTV global streaming app which also served as a gathering for the series 39th anniversary.

Wood gave us the lowdown of what may lie ahead for the often in-your-face Forrester dynamo who has no problem snarking a comment or two to Hope (Annika Noelle), and who definitely wants her mother, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), and all her loved ones to stay away from Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)!

‘It’s been fun what we’ve been filming, we’ve been non-stop,” shared Wood. “The other day I was doing four episodes back to back, and we were just in it. It’s fun to play Steffy right now. Love her or hate her. I have fun playing her.”

FROM LEADING ROLE TO SUPER MOM

Jacqui also weighed-in on; if throughout her run on the show, she has changed dialog or  something in a script to help out her performance. “Sometimes, but not all the time. I let Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer) write. I try to execute the best way I can,” reflected Wood. “There are times where I see it and I go, ‘Let me take the reins here. I got this.’  They’ll kind of let me go. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I’m OK for critique. We can’t work scenes over and over again. We’re not on that kind of medium or set. You kind of have to know what you’re bringing, but I’m always open.”

Being supermom to sons: Rise Harlen, Lenix, Brando Elion, Valor James and Talon, wife to husband Elan Ruspoli, and a leading actress on The Bold and the Beautiful is a lot to juggle, but Wood has found the way to do it all. “Honestly, I just truly live intentionally, ” explained Jacqui. “I know what we have here, and it makes me truly grateful to have my kids and to be able to still be a mom. I still see myself as a full-time mom. I’ll film episodes back to back, and then I go and I be a mom. I get to bring my kids to set. So. it’s cool.”

THE YOUNG AND THE BOLD

Wood is very impressed by B&B’s “new kids on the block,” Crew Morrow (Will), Sydney Bullock (Dylan), Brayan Nicoletti  (R.J.) and Laneya Grace (Electra) and shared she likes where Steffy is at in 2026, “I like the steady right now. I don’t want to like hit my cortisol levels yet. The younger generation can do that right now. I love the younger generation. I think they’re doing such a fantastic job, I just want to lean in and let them go and let them do their thing. If Steffy needs to chime in she will do that, and if she needs to slap some people, she can do that too!”

As to what man is in Steffy’s future, if it’s remaining happily married to Finn (Tanner Novlan), rekindling a romance with her ex-Liam (Scott Clifton ) for the umpteenth time, or a new man enters Steffy’s life, Wood would not say the way things may go down the line.

When talked turned to Steffy’s former pain killer addiction, Jacqui did say that. “It’s always a possibility” for the show to bring that back when it makes sense for Steffy and to service the story.

You can check out the full conversation below, and all the BBTV launch party interview with the cast, now on the Michael Fairman Channel.

So, do you think Steffy will be giving everyone trouble at Forrester? Do you think she will stay with Finn for years to come? What story would you like to see Wood be given at this point on the daytime drama series? Weigh-in via the comment section.
