THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Are The Santoris Behind The Kidnapping Of Adam Newman?

Courtesy/CBS
This week after Victor (Eric Braeden) sent Adam (Justin Hartley) overseas on an urgent business matter, he ends up kidnapped and thrown in an elevator right outside his own penthouse!
Late, Victor learns Adam did not get on the Newman jet or check into his desigated hotel in Spain.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is unglued and believes something terrible had happened to Adam! All signs look that Adam’s disappearance may be tied to the Santoris and that Luca (Miles Gaston Villenueva) has double-crossed the Newmans. But Luca may actually not have known, or did he?
Is this an all out power struggle between the waring Santori and Newman clans … or, is something else going on here? After the jump, watch next week’s promo from CBS Daytime and then weigh-in via the comment section below!

Christel Khalil Reveals She Almost Quit Acting After ‘That’s So Raven’ Audition, But Then Came ‘The Young and the Restless’

The Young and the Restless fan favorite, Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) is the special guest on this week’s edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped today on Tuesday, June 23rd.
During the interview with Rebecca and Greg, Khalil who had played Lily Winters on-screen since August of 2002, nearly 24 years with the CBS soap, shared how early on her teenage acting career, she was ready to call it quits in show business, after a heartbreaking audition for the lead of a new Disney Channel sitcom, which later turned out to be the hit seres, That’s So Raven, starring Raven-Symoné which ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.
Christel recalled what happened. “I was 14 and I had always auditioned for all these Disney projects. So I auditioned for That’s So Raven, it was between me and Raven-Symoné and it was called at the time Absolutely Psychic,” explained Khalil. “The character was this girl who had psychic ability, but then when Raven got the role, they named the title of the show after her.”

HOW A BROTHERLY TALK CHANGED THE COURSE OF CHRISTEL’S CAREER
Reliving the disappointment to Greg and Rebecca, Christel explained, “I lost that part and I was just so devastated, because for the network call there were 20 people in the room watching me, and I just have always had such performance anxiety. I just completely bombed the audition and it was terrible. So, I was just devastated. I was actually going to quit acting and then I got the final call for The Young and The Restless and I wasn’t going to go.”
It was Khalil’s brother, who actually got her to reconsider, and if he hadn’t, we would not have our Lily Winters in Genoa City! Christel recounted, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m just going to hang out with my friends.’ I was just devastated. My brother, who is seven years older than me, and he had quit acting at the same age that I was at that time. He said to me, ‘I promise you, I actually really regret quitting. Just go on this audition and if you don’t get it, you can quit.'”
Christel’s screen-test for the role of Lily was actually with the late, great, Kristoff St. John who would play her father Neil (Later it was revealed to Lily, that Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters was her bio-dad).

Photo: CBS
ACTING WAS EASY WITH THE LATE KRISTOFF ST. JOHN
“So, I went (to test for Lily) and I remember the screen-test was with Kristoff St. John. It was just so easy to act with him because he’s just so there. I remember just being on set, and that was my first time there for a screen-test where you were actually on set. I had never experienced that before. It was my first time being with an actor and having makeup done, which just helps you really be able to do your best work.”
Recalling the screen-test with the St. John, Khalil, “It was where I had to be emotional ( in the scene) and I always had issues being emotional at auditions. But I was there with him, it just came, and it happened. It was natural and I felt so good and it was amazing. It stands out in my mind a lot.”
You can check out the full Soapy conversation with Christel Khalil where she also discusses juggling motherhood, marital life, and the demands of soap operas.

Days Of Our Lives
Deidre Hall Marks 50 Years as ‘Days of Our Lives’ Dr. Marlena Evans

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.
It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.
In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

Photo: NBC
There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.
DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.
Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

THE LOVES OF MARLENA
Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.
TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME
While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!
The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

Photo:JPI
The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.
The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.
The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.
In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Photo: NBC
Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.
It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.
THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA
In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)
In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

Photo: JPI
One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.
Tune-in to Days of our Lives on the Monday, June 22 episode as Marlena looks back at her 50 years in Salem.
Share your congratulations to Deidre Hall for this incredible 50-year milestone as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in the comment section. Then let us know, what is your all-time favorite storyline or moment in the life of Marlena over the past 5 decades? And, just for kicks, and to celebrate this amazing milestone, here is Marlena levitating below circa Christmas Eve 1994.

I love the show. I think the new recasts combined with the current cast has upped the game in talent and the feel of the show.
But I don’t get the menacing aspects of the characters. IAN was a cartoon and never did anything from the get go to make him an evil being. Nor was Joe Clark even in the end (a lot of who joe was perceived as was based on Dylan – someone who was the same – and averys lie.
Even Marco never came close to evil incarnate that has been victor. Now Luca Santori is suppose to be evil along with his never seen or heard from father?
My point is I just don’t care.
And I hope that when Jack hears that Adam was kidnapped he says “my family is right here. Sorry, Chelsea, Adam is not part of that anymore. He chose victor instead of being a man.”
So you “love the show” but “just don’t care” about the pointless direction the show has been in since last year??
Totally agree! Just not feeling the Santori clan since Day 1. They are a hot mess with Marisa seemingly switching loyalties constantly. They should have introduced some real competition for Victor & Company and let it develop so we could care about what is going on. Luca is good looking but his acting skills are not strong, Marisa is a snooze and the old man, unless they pull off something /someone really outrageously
great, can’t be too much a threat.
They need to pull a Dallas dream sequence here (well, actually they should have done that with the Marco thing, but I digress) and have it all be a bad dream of, say Chelsea’s. Have her (or whomever selected) wake up, and move on. Then if you want a family to threaten Victor & Co., wait a bit and then try something. The sky is the limit with casting here! Just make it interesting, make us care about what is going on, and cast with dynamic actors!
That is simply not true. When Adam & Chelsea got back together Adam did not want to have anything to do with his father (Victor). They had actually almost bought a house in Paris France when Jack called Adam and needed help because of Victor & Ian. When they got back it was only suppose to be for a short time and Victor refused to let Chelsea’s 2:1 designs leave Genoa City. By the time everything was ok again, Victor found out that Sage’s baby was Adam’s and blackmailed him. If Adam leaves Newman Victor will tell Chelsea for that matter it will also upset Sage because although she had a blood test done she never got to read it, Nick took it and said it was his baby. So imagine all the upset people if Victor opens his mouth and everyone knows that old mean goat always wins.
Sorry it was not only Chelsea’s 2:0 Victor was also claiming Grandfather right to their son( as in not allowing them to take the child out of the country)
what show have you been watching? all these people have done something evil or close to it
What is the moral of this Soap, then , Pjc? One does not have to be a murderer to be evil? You got it! Victor Newman is the devil incarnate. He gets away with everything. It’s fiction, of course. But, do people such as he……..of his ilk, exist in reality? I think so. I can name a few, but it would not be the thing.
Victor is the most irreverent, heartless beast, using his professed love for his family as leverage; for personal gain, to justify the degenerate means to a warped end. He actually wanted Billy to die. And, I doubt it had anything to do with compassion, but everything to do with the left-handed, crooked deal he made with Kevin.
Obviously Billy lives; so, does the verbal agreement he made with Kevin still stand? Is that a worry for Victor?
Jack is the last man to throw aspersions on anyone. His hands aren’t so clean. And, I want to scream from the Bell Tower if I have to look at fake Phyllis again. Pathetic. Give Gina a dose of deviltry laced with jusuuuust a bit of honey. Ugh!! Give her a dose of Phyllis. When was she ever so lovey do ey with the Abbotts? With Jill? With Billy? With Victoria? With Nikki? Golly Gee.
Marco is not dead. I don’t know what’s going on, but I trust Adam’s instincts; and, whether this kidnapping was a Santori doing? Well, finally we get to see what’s behind the wall. I already know I won’t like any of them. I still do not grasp the reason for having Spaniards involved in a conglomerate of Newman’s caliber. Spain? Really? I also think Marco is in league with these “Spaniards”, with an Italian name…..I know I keep saying it. The kidnapping is a double edged sword.
CeeCee, my dear…as always, Y-O-U are the VOICE OF REASON!!!!! Thank You. Take care, my friend.
Peace.
@jaybird369.
Thai you, Jay, my friend.
jack will be mad because adam got kidnapped by someone
If this brings Nick and Adam together as brothers then I am all for it. It has been a long time coming. This would show some much needed maturity on Nick’s part – finally forgiving his brother and working with him instead of against him.
If Victor is to be the evil incarnate for the duration of the character’s life (let’s face it, he will NEVER change), then can we at least have the Newman children put on their big boy and girl panties, grow up and be united as one? Please!
i hope nick is with his brother adam not against , i want nick to forgive adam ,
When are Luca and Marisa checking out of Genoa City? They have overstayed their welcome.
yeah luca did
They sure have. Marisa in is the opening credits, so I doubt she’s leaving anytime soon.
Every freakin’ soap cliche has been chucked at us since Pratt took over as Head Writer – nothing but retreaded, regurgitated, plot-driven garbage!!
Something stinks and it’s the current state of “Y & R” – a steaming pile of shizz!!
100% agree! Pratt doesn’t know how to write well, he just repeats one bad story line after another, and does it so poorly.
You bet, Joe. I try so hard not to carp. I have the nagging suspicion that Victor is at the helm, as always,…..I hope he really is not involved in his own son’s kidnapping. My gosh, he is the lowest of the low, if he is….despicable.
Furthermore….here we go again; Sharon has fallen overboard again…we are at round one million. I think dear Dr. Anderson has prescribed a placebo for Sharon. It’s a repeat, all right, Joe….she will end up in the mental hospital again within the nutso doctor’s clutches. These people are supposedly so affluent; so smart; Dylan, now a solid, on-the-ball cop, why not investigate Dr. Anderson? Look into her past and her credentials. It is that simple.
Forgive my tirade, but it also seems that Devon and Abby are going to get involved? Another repeat of lost love, with the birth of another triangle. Later.
I dont care about the Santori storyline and wish Luca and Marisa would hop
the nearest jet out of Genoa City and never come back. And I wanted Chelsea
and Adam and Connor just happy for awhile, jeez, before more dangerous
drama for them.
Adam is always in the middle of trouble because victor put his son adam in the middle of it , adam always help victor win aganist his enemies
I’ll be disappointed if Adam was kidnapped by the Santoris …
Because-
It is too expected too transparent too usual, if it were the Santoris ..
I hope Pratt has an ace up the sleeve on this one offering us a shocker..
((I desperately need a shocker, haven’t had one since RC left))
I like the way you think, su. Hmmmmm. A shocker!! Let’s see….Luca is really Victor’s son? Or Marissa his daughter? I think the biggest shocker of all would be if Phyllis were pregnant with Marco’s baby. Too much time has passed? Yeah; too bad the writers didn’t think of that.
Finally, Adam and Chelsea arrived in a good place; why could ‘they’ just not have given it a rest? Adam barely got his feet in the door and off he goes…kidnapping, no less.
I have no interest in the Santoris, nor Marissa’s fluctuation between Noah and Luca. What a warped relationship…..’nite, su.
I thought the same thing Cee. Adam and Chelsea JUST got comfortable and now he is tied up and she is fit to be tied! And speaking of the Santori’s, not only is their nationality wrong but both of them have dropped their accents!
Maybe its Marco who grabbed him?
Hey, Timmm.
As it usually happens on any soap, I don’t think the writers have ‘invented’ the story behind Adam’s kidnapping. We’re just going for the ride. I had finally come to enjoy Adam and Chelsea together. The couple gave brought much needed ‘familial’ comfort to an otherwise demoralizing Genoa City. Now this.
I hadn’t even noticed Luca dropping the ‘unspaniard’ accent….mostly because he is such an irritant to me, I hardly pay attention to him. However, Marissa ( beautiful, exotic-looking woman) , who I do like, albeit she is excess baggage, I think; lost her accent a week into her first appearance on stage. I had mentioned it, but I thought I had imagined the accent due to the fact it didn’t last long. Does anyone really care she has disappeared?
I am actually waiting to see what’s in store for Abby and Devon. Another loser. Poor Abby. Later, my Timmm.
marco has been killed
@Alexis Bean. Yeah, Victor said Marco is dead. I dont believe him for one minute!
i will be mad at Luca santoris because he help adam
Marco is alive and kicking. No way does he just disappear without having a hand in this, alexis. Too easy. I gather you are a Victor fan?
i don’t think the santori’s had anything to do with adam being missing – i believe that the other sponsors/backers that kevin’s partner is involved with has adam…………..
another stupid storyline because first of all kevin would have taken the money from jack before getting involved with victor – where are tptb/writers getting these ideas from??????
That’s a good premise, elm. It’s ‘The Girl’, they want! What girl? Marissa or Kevin’s partner ( forgot her name which means she’s not important to me, lol). So, why does Victor tell Luca that his father wants Marissa? Could Victor have misunderstood? Or, is he being his usual wily-as-a-fox self? Could the other backers and the Santoris be one and the same? I just cannot get into this story, at all! More romance and less adventure, please. I am not captivated. I find more pleasure watching Sage holding her baby son….another stupid travesty. Later.
Of course the Santories are behind it. Agree with Pjc-a big who cares.
Everyone lies (Sharon – again!), everyone is distrusting (Lily and Cane),
except of people they don’t know like Dr Anderson (why would anyone trust her?! – only Sage sees this unprofessional intrusion on their lives and of course theyll say she’s delusional due to loss of Christian – Sharon trusts her with her meds against her better judgement – Nick confides and listened to her!),
Everyone hides the truth for fear of repercussions (blown opportunity for Noah to step up , do the right thing and have story come from there, Neil character totally destroyed) , or
Everyone plays games with their loved ones to make them jealous (Neil/Devon/Hillary and now Nikki, the matriarch of the show has been reduced to a high school game and Victor would never believe it anyway. Certainly wouldn’t be jealous. ).
Infantile, paranoid and negative behavior is the common denominator in Genoa City.
Ben sets a horrible example for his son by choosing him over Abbey when the reality would be they would try to work through it together (there are other ways to test Abbey and see her step up)
Victoria bringing her children in to say goodbye to their daddy is self serving and very out of character – seeing all those tubes, machines etc could be traumatic. and Vicky knows that. Certainly Nikki would.
Victors and Adam are great together but their re no surprises, no growth.
Characters are being compromised left and right. and the message is horrible.
How characters handle life is either self flagellating or deceitful -not inspiring at all
Bill Bell individuated his characters and wrote great stories.
Pratt is a character rat, chewing away in the name of story. ..recycled stories.
Billys story will probably be another revenge story, get back at Victor and Kevin. Victoria and Billy will get back together because Jason Thompson and Amelia Heinle will be on fire, and Victor will try to break them up. Nothing new there.
Adam and Chelsea are a super couple being underplayed and as always he lies and she suspects. Where is Summer?
Where is Summer??? WHO CARES! The only thing going well out of all this is Summer isn’t on every day being shoved down our throats . I agree with you about Amelia & Jason. They will be a hot couple & Victor will always play the devil himself. I wish they would soften him up. I want to see Adam tell Chelsea about Sage & blow Victor’s blackmail out of the water.
Hey, Nikki…to me, you know what would be EVEN BETTER…N-O SUMMER, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!! Just an idea………..
Later.
But its a soap. If the characters were all goody two shoes, we’d be watching this on a religious channel. Soaps are constantly building people up which ever way and tearing them down only to redeem them. Even Victor gets a dose of realism from time to time and loses his memory or leaves town to search for his soul. [He is overdue!] I am entertained and thankful these people are not really in my own life. Well except for Abby!
Your right on Tim and I love Abby too as well as Mariah but Summer is just too much. It’s not that she’s a goody-two-shoes, she just really irritates me. Her voice is like scraping a dish with a fork and she has a lisp not to mention always pouting. Im kinda hoping they send her & Kyle back to College for awhile (lifetime would be nice). What a thought a hour hour without a squeak from the mouse.
Abby’s married, Timmm. LOL.
Seriously, I get it. I love my soaps…but, just once I would love for TPTB to treat the viewer with a little more respect. We are intelligent beings and should be offered a certain amount of realism. Considering the world’s economy, why pick Spain? I know I am being repetitious and redundant, but pick a country with a stable economy. What gives?
Victor is Victor. I am continuously complaining about him…..but we gotta give it to the guy…he is that good, as reptilian as he is. You are right, it is these kinds of villains that make the soaps go ’round. But, we also need a buffer once in a while. There is not one storyline which makes me smile or warms the heart. The stolen moments between Sage and Sully, are just that….stolen, borrowed moments. Everyone is miserable for some reason or other…except for Sharon. The poor woman is living in a dream of Anderson’s making…..in a bubble, on Mars. The bubble will burst; she will fall hard; beginning the misery all over again. No respite, Timmm. I want to see a little true, healthy, promising happiness…later, my friend.
It makes far more sense for this to be an Ian Ward act. The Santoris are unlikely to be involved in an anti hacking project. That is totally up Ian’s alley. He knows soon enough Kevin will fill Victor in on the “woman” he will trade for Adam because he knows Kevin was involved in Internet sleuthing for info on the paragon. Time will tell………
I thought Adam’s kidnapping had to do with that geeky computer girl? But anyway, if it is Luca’s family they need to cast his dad. Why not Michael Easton? I would love to see him and Eric Braeden go toe to toe!
Victor is probably Luca’s father, so no need for some one else to play the part…
Aint that the truth!
Oh, my gosh, Hayley!! I just noticed your post. Wow, I thought the same thing!
Hayley…Oh, God, No. As far as I’m concerned, Victor has enough damn children already!!!!! N-o.
Michael Easton is toooo young to be Luca’s father… But he would be a
great addition too Y&R. Bring him in as an FBI agent looking into the
Newman/Santori connection…working along side Paul and Dylan…
Or the Santori’s lawyer looking after their vested interest…
Like yourself ..I thought it had to do with the computer girl who
skipped out on her newly found partners.
I guess your right Fanny about Michael’s age. Yeah, bring him in as FBI and investigate how you go from making Latte’s to flashing a detective’s badge without even watching ONE episode of NCIS!
Good scenario, Fanny. I love it. Michael E would add that special kind of class that only he can bring. The only discordant note for me is working with Dylan. LOL. I can’t get over how easily he slipped into the role of detective. Only in soapland, my lady; only in soapland.
Thanks also to Timmm, for bringing Michael Easton up.
@CeeCee….@Timmm… Perhaps the writers choose to focus on a
Kinder, gentler Father & Son team than what is currently on canvas…
No need to name names….the perps know who they are.
Fed up with the dark side of Young and the Restless; just too much of it. The Kelly/Jack tied up episodes were absolutely nauseating, and that is ignoring the stupidity and lack of resolution. Now the tiresome Mafia chapter is expanding. For me, I just can’t watch this kind of stuff and fast forward. That goes for the Devon, Hillary, and Neil never ending tales.
Apologies for how negative and abrupt these comments are. They just jumped out and don’t infer any criticism of the very fine actors who find ways to work whatever is written for them.
As the previous person mentioned, Ian pulled off a true bit of camp. The new doctor has displayed a bit of that too which was great fun. However, I find myself most grateful for the ability to fast forward when necessary.
AHHHAA AHAAA!
Y&R’s ”darkside” <– ahaa
((Y&R is peaches and cream))
I’m really enjoying Y&R lately, I think it’s smart that they only focus on a few stories at a time.
I have a major crush on the actor that plays Luca so I’m hoping he stays on Y&R for a long time!
the show is horribly written now, and bad acting is starting to seep in.
I’m so sick of another storyline that just covers up more of Victor’s lies and manipulation. He gets away with inserting Marco in Phyllis’s bed, he supposedly “saves” Adam from prison time by blackmailing the judge (by the way – WHERE IS SHE???) and then he blackmails Adam with his omniscient knowledge of Christian’s true paternity. Then he convinces Noah to cover up the fact that he backed his car over Billy – but does he blackmail his grandson? Nooooooo….that’s special sauce treatment for his one black sheep errant child, Adam. And now Adam has been kidnapped because honestly, with the collapsing of the Underground and Newman Towers in LESS THAN TWELVE MONTHS – they need another catastrophe within a nanosecond of everyone saying definitive finale goodbyes to Billy on his deathbed. GOOD LORD. Can we just have a show that doesn’t involve a live/die drama every week?
So Adam has been kidnapped? Great. I don’t think the plot is complicated. It’s the Santori family and they want Kevin’s friend’s big technology…big whoop-dee-do.
Marisa and Luca are beginning to grow on me, especially now that they have dropped their fake accents, but the writing for their storyline is so lame that I can’t get invested in them.
And I can’t get invested in invisible enemies (the Santori family) who according to Marisa when she spoke to Chelsea on Friday, is supposed to make us shiver in our booties, when the real evil is right under our noses: VICTOR. He needs to go away. There is nothing redemptive about him. Send him on a long journey somewhere …maybe Spain?
this show has too many highs and lows…. right now it s a serious low…. the santori s , who technically is A santori…. luca santori , who doesn t seem very sinister, nikki and neil? … totally outrageous, nikki needs to stay in her age group( no offense…its too silly)
kevin, mariah and technerd girl…. who cares?, and new billy #3….nothing sustaining my intrest, this shows so low now im actually looking forward to nick and sharon s baby switch #2 story…. ofcourse i ll watch any storyline that nick and sharon are in together!
Oh, gimme a break already!!!!! Instead of kidnapping Adam, that SO-CALLED Santori family should have kidnapped Noah…who is BEYOND ANNOYING!!!!!
Just saying……….
and he’s a horrible at parking cars too! I bet he cannot parallel park to save his life!!
Thats funny Harry! Thats about the only thing he is good for and he cant even do that! That scene with him, Luca and Victor yesterday, he looked like a school child next to those two!
They should kidnap Noah and give him a decent haircut!
And stop plucking his eyebrows like a girl’s. Noah has really nice eyebrows…such a fine arch.
He’s sooooo cute. How old is he 18???????
@Fanny.
Hi, Fanny, my lady:
Robert/Noah is 30. But, he could pass as 18….truly!!
If MAB was writing this story I would say Adam kidnap himself in order to get hold of Kevin’s project– but this new and gentler Adam who knows— just had to laugh myself silly when Chelsea ends up going to Dylan to find him– Dylan to the rescue again– LOL.
ughhhh…pls no praising mab! she lost all my respect when she married sahron and victor, which was pretty much incestous and rapey! lowest point of y n r ever… sharon case wanted no part of it and eric braedan was full of himself… lost respect for eric braedan too! that plot was disgusting
I wasn’t praising MAB– all I said was under her reign Adam was an evil son of bitch and at that time he would have kidnap himself— that is hardly an endorsement of the woman’s work. ITA some of her work was the lowest point for the show— sorry I brought up a bad memory for you, wasn’t my intent.
That WAS disgusting, damien, definitely. But, not as disgusting as when Adam pretended to be gay and slept with Rafe; who happened to be the best character on Y&R. Such a genuinely nice guy. I loved him. I still remember how hurt he was. And, what does that say for the irreverence used on the gay community? Bah!!
Well Mary I am not watching it enough these days to be on top of it but someone mentioned that whenever they constantly mention a past character they usually show up . Could it be Marco ? Lord knows Pratt seems to think we have to see EB PB and Steve Burton five days a week.
I believe, as I already said, Marco’s hand is in the cookie jar…really deep, Kay. I agree with you.
How RIDICULOUS were yesterday’s scenes when Dylan whipped out his badge? They could at least have had Dylan off screen for a week, saying he was in training/academy, etc., but to just give him a badge and let him go off on his own is so unreal. Of course, so is the police chief personally investigating every crime.
I guess in soap terms it isn’t anymore ridiculous than Abby becoming COO of a major corporation with no training or background in business— at least Dylan can claim his military service was training– I guess we will just have to chalk this one up to another WTH moment on a soap. But if I was Paul I would watch my back because the way it is going Dylan will be the next chief of police in a month– LOL.
what family? it’s two people lol until they start introducing the rest of the family il never take them serious as a threat to the Newman dynasty
It’s obvious that the head of the family will be revealed as Shelia Carter…..when Shelia “died”, she was actually comatosed and taken out the country to Spain where she was looked after by Niklaus Santori, who was an orphan that was raised with Victor in the School of Orphans, and was bullied by Victor/Christian at a young age, and vowed to one day bring down said VicChris…tech girl is Shelia’s daughter, who will later be revealed as Daisy, anywho, they will all converge at the Newman Towers where Lauren and Micheal will just happen to be having dinner and Shelia will be revealed as the mastermind behind everything that’s happened in the last year and will hold everyone in town hostage and at Midnight the Letter “N” from the Newman Tower sign will fall and kill everyone…fade to black screen….just kidding…i haven’t watched this show in over eight months and have no idea what’s going on……I do like Jason Thompson…..and I like the characters of Kevin and Mariah….
Am lost as to what is happening. Opened my recording yesterday and saw Marisa tethered to the bed mirroring how Jack was held by Kelly months ago. For me that is “dark” writing. I saw a picture of Adam tied up. Just can’t watch this type of scene without it being properly developed and concluded.
There are “dark” programs on television which have a central cast seeking justice. The central cast gives viewers comfort. Young and the Restless seems to have become poorly put together vignettes introducing new characters that, like a tossed balloon, are floating around looking for a spot to rest.
I allow a lot of slack for this program because it has been appreciated for so long. I don’t want to be critical, but since the ratings appear to be world wide it almost makes irrelevant any consideration of comments suggesting the need to improve.
Thanks to Michael Fairman’s group for their review.
Love Y&R but lately I am soooooooo sick of Chelsea’s whining.
