THIS WEEK on DAYS: Kristen Is Pregnant! What Do You Think Of The Plot Twist?

Courtesy/NBC

Courtesy/NBC

After all of us thought that Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson) could never conceive a child, it looks like all of that has changed!

This week on Days of our Lives, Kristen gets the shock of her life when she discovers she is pregnant!  And, this comes after she is just reunited with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

So, does this mean that Kristen is pregnant with Father Eric’s child (Greg Vaughan)? Did Kristen’s evil plan to destroy Marlena backfire on her? Or, ultimately give her the one thing she has always wanted besides revenge on the good doc?

In addition, it looks like the revelation of the pregnancy will now have once friends,  Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Kristen sharing with each other the news, and Jen wanting to help her with dealing with this.  Only Jen has no idea about her cruel scheme perpetrated on Father Eric!

Watch this week’s NBC promo for Days of our Lives after the jump! Then, share your thoughts on if you think Kristen being pregnant is a good plot twist?  What do you think should happen next?  Will she pass her unborn child off as Brady’s? Can the child really be Eric’s?

Oh man the story is getting better and better. And the fact that Jenn is involved without knowing what’s going on! Everything will blow up before she leaves and that will be must see TV! Makes you wonder if she’ll leave town with the baby. I wish she wasn’t leaving!

I agree…Eileen makes tuning in such an experience…can’t wait to see it unfold. If its Eric’s her and Marlena will always be entwined…whoa

If she caries full term, she will be gone before the birth because ED’s last
airdate is in november.

I love Eileen Davidson in this role but, this is just too much. No offense to her but the character is a bit old to be conceiving a child at this point. Especially given her inability before. I get the shock value and the story potential but don’t think it is more than typical soap schlock.

I agree with you Chaz…this really is TOO much.

I think that Kristin will lose the baby and that will be the catalyst to her leaving the show. She’s going to go whack-a-doodle again and get sent off to the crazy farm until Eileen is ready to come back for another visit.

Perhaps it is a miracle child– I mean she did rape a priest– holy sperm and all that. Most likely it will be a demon seed with Kristin as the mother, a raped priest as the father, Stefano as the grandfather, and EJ and Sami as its aunt and uncle– this poor child is going to need therapy before it is even born. So yeah it soap schlock, but schock sometimes works.

can you imagine both Kristen and Nicole having kids…. and watching these two mothers and child involved ? Yikes… now these are two fierce, feisty, stay out of my way… charged Up. I don’t know… what’s going to become of Kristen… i’m in turmoil… that so many are vested in realism. Kristen is evil laden. still full of intrigue. she’s an older woman having a baby… I hope this brings her rest… ie: her mothering kicks in and she lets go her past. dang! I really do hope she’s just taking time off…. would make for good mystery… if she… Read more »

With Melissa Reeves on Days it will NEVER be ever Jason Brooks on it !
And like it or not Jennifer and the actress playing her is far more important to the show and TPTB than Jason Brooks and even his former character of Peter Blake- Dimera will ever be. Maybe they could recast Peter but certainly not with the same actor..mark my words.

Oh that is too funny for words– but you do realize there are those under a certain age that are saying what the ??????? because they have no idea what you are referring to, which makes it even funnier. Thanks for making my day

for those who dont get my joke…actor Ralph Waite(Father Matt) starred as John Walton in the family series The Waltons from the 1970s to the 1980s(with some time off) On the show he was married to Olivia and had the 7 children i mentioned…lol

From a story line point of view– whose the daddy guessing game is a soap staple, so I don’t really blame the writers for going there. I get the potential of Marlena possibly having a grandchild with her mortal enemy as the mommy too tempting to pass up. However, I hate it when soaps have woman who cannot have children, suddenly turn up pregnant– it is a disservice to the real issue of infertility and right up there with chronically ill characters suddenly being cured as one of my pet peeves about soaps. As for being a shock– not for… Read more »

Welcome back. Yeah still in the trenches of soap watching– the good, the bad and the ugly, I am watching it all. Was shaking my head in disbelief on Y&R today when Sharon faked a sprain ankle in order to have Nick hold her. What is she in ninth grade? I can’t believe how much they are dumbing down that poor character– I’m still hoping there is method to this madness and something good will come out of this—like maybe the show will get so bad Sony will have no choice but to fired those who are ruining this show… Read more »

Well I sit down and actually watched Y&R yesterday the birth of Chelsea’s baby was the DUMBEST birth ever done, they should be ashamed. And the comment that the baby was big because she had a steroid shot and well it was truly middle school play quality sad . We had an article in our newspaper this morning on a young lady who has MS she is 21 was diagnosed at age 14 what her feet look like and what she is going thru needless to say I am sending the article to CBS/ Y&R and tell them they should… Read more »

The only thing great would be if Kristen had a Black baby because it would actually make Brady Black somewhat more interesting to watch. Adding the Kristen dramatics would just make it better.

On the other tossing Kristen into Eric life again claiming they have a child would not be good. I have the feeling the writers would write it worst than how they wrote Chloe when she came back to town to announce Daniel was Parker father than Kristen might be similar regardless of whoever it is, but much much worse with Eric.

Saw that one coming a mile away. Eileen is a good actress but all that sex she was involved in with Brady was a real turn off and to top it off they have her sleep with Father Eric and NOW she’s preggers, it’s truly insulting I tell ya!!!!

I so wish the show had not chosen to go down this route. It is lazy storytelling, not to mention disgusting and warped. I don‘t understand the decision to involve Kristen in a story with two men who are a full generation younger than her. Second, Kristen is well past child bearing years. That point I can live with….after all, if the 60 ish Rachel on Another World could give birth to twins…well…soap ages are just plain weird. That does not bother me so much. But third….people…she RAPED a priest!! A 50 something woman RAPED a 30 something priest. That‘s… Read more »

Sad but true– the art of telling a good old-fashioned love story seems to have been forgotten, not just in soaps, but in movies, and in books. I don’t really blame soap writers, I think it is the times we live in and the culture that is changing what is consider romance— but am with you, I loved the golden age of the supercouple– those were some great stories that I am glad I got to enjoy at the right age and time to enjoy them in.

jimh(leave it to beaver)

jimh(leave it to beaver)

Rachel wasnt in her 60s…Vicki Wyndam who played Rachel was only 52 when the character of Rachel had twins during this 1997 storyline…which is medically possible and has happened in real life. E.D. (Kristen) is around that age but most likely playing slightly younger. But your right about the supercouple and romance part which is sorely lacking in all soaps. Ive watched Days since the 1960s and it used to be one of the most romantic soaps, beginning with Doug and Julie who were daytimes most romantic couple in the 1970s…i still consider them the no. one romantic soap couple… Read more »

Yeah Doug and Julie with Doug sleeping with her mother and having her child, you know..Hope ! And the first real Days supercouple was Bill and Laura Horton with Bill raping Laura and by that creating a child.. Mike.. Laura passing the child as Mike Horton (Bill’s brother) then Mike trying to kill Bill…Bottom line soap operas were always twisted..yep there was the staple story of the Hero who save his damsel from the villain in exotic islands but it was not the only core element of these Daytime soaps…

I do not like the storyline where Kristen raped and drugged Father Eric Brady, but since you asked my thoughts about it I’ll give it. Hopefully Kristen will find out she is miscarried or better yet that she was not pregnant in the first place. I would not mind the baby being Brady Black’s because that would give the show reason to bring back John later when his grandchild showed up in Salem. As for the other possibility there is no way I would ever accept that as a fan. Kristen would use the child as a puppet to try… Read more »

There is no way I want Kristen to have either John or Marlena grandchild, if that were to happen I would want them to go to court to get custody of the child, because Kristen is a sociopath, I would also push to have Kristen admitted to a mental institution for life!

This has been my dream storyline for weeks. I just wish Eileen was not leaving. This provides upcoming story for years. The fallout with Marlena, John, Eric, Brady, Jennifer, Nicole, EJ, etc. I am ready to see Eric leave the priesthood and be a good leading man for Nicole or maybe Chishelle. I also think it is time for Nicole to have a family. Can we bring back the charcter of Brandon and Taylor?

Had to reply here Judith…you replied to me about Doug and Julie and said Doug slept with her mother…Addie by the way…you made it sound like the had an affair…Doug married Addie and they had Hope…and as for the romance part i was refering to how Doug used to sing to Julie, and how the always looked at each other…sure soaps have their twisted moments like you said but at the same time the used to also took time out for a little romance as well…but its a rarity in todays soaps!!!

I love the story and wish she wasn’t leaving !! Like others said earlier, so many stories could have come down the road ! Everyone throws around the “rape” term,, He wasn’t tied down and gagged, most scenes he was on top and the aggressor saying how much he wanted her ! not the other way around. The show is so good right now, I have been watching every day which almost never happens LOL

Drugging someone into having sex with you when they wouldn’t had sex with you if they hadn’t been drugged– is rape. They are not in the proper frame of mind to give consent– just like a guy slipping a drug into a woman’s drink at a party— And Eric was protesting that is why Kristen had to edit those parts out of the tape to make it look like he wanted it— -On soaps they are two classes of sexual assault — those that resemble real life–based on situations that actually could happen, like Nick being raped in prison. Days Of Our Lives

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Abe Goes to the Light While John Faces Off with MarDevil

Monday’s highly-anticipated episode of Days of our Lives did not disappoint. In fact, we think that this episode should be a strong contender for DAYS to consider for one of their Outstanding Drama Series submissions for next year’s Daytime Emmys.  Why? It has it all – emotional heart with Abe’s journey to and from the light, touching flashbacks, a great performance by James Reynolds, and some special effects and editing during the John (Drake Hogesytn) vs. MarDevil scenes, which also gave us a delicious performance by Deidre Hall.

At the start of the episode, Abe has flatlined after being shot as Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tries to revive him, but they are losing him.  As this is going on, Paulina (Jackée Harry), Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Eli (Lamon Archey) are gathered at the hospital awaiting news on Abe’s condition.  Later, Eli decides to go find out what is happening with Abe, and gets the shock of his life when he walks in on Abe flatlining, while Kayla tells him that Abe is gone.  Eli implores her to try to bring him back. He tells the others they are working on trying to save Abe, as Julie and Paulina bond, and later, Lani must call Theo and Brandon to let them know about Abe’s condition.

Photo: JPI

Julie reminisces about Abe, and how they have known each other for 40 years, our wink-wink that this is James Reynolds’ 40th anniversary episode.   Then, we see Abe has gone to the light wearing a white sweater and who should he see but his beloved late wife, Lexie.  No, it’s not Renee Jones, but an actress who delivers Lexie’s lines, since it had been previously reported that Jones was unavailable for the episode.  In scenes with the replacement Lexie, Reynolds showed us why he is an MVP of DAYS.  He acted up a storm and brought the emotion regardless of who was standing there.

However, longtime viewers got a wonderful surprise when flashback clips of scenes between Renee Jones and Reynolds were shown and they were some major moments in the history of Abe and Lexie’s relationship including: the moment when Abe learns Lexie’s pregnant, the moment when he is disgusted by Lexie’s betrayal when he learned of her involvement in the Zack baby switch storyline, and what she did to Bo and Hope, all because she was desperate for a child. Later, it’s the five-hankie moment of when Lexie, who was dying from a brain tumor, passes away in Abe’s arms.

After all the flashbacks, Lexie tells Abe he needs to go back and not to come with her to heaven. He has children, and people who love him and need him. Eventually, he says his goodbyes to Lexie and returns to the present, just as Kayla is about to call his time of death in the hospital room. All of a sudden, Abe’s heart begins to beat.

Photo: JPI

Kayla brings Julie, Eli, Lani, and Paulina the news that Abe will need surgery, but he will make it.  Then, Paulina and Lani make their way to see him. In another emotional moment, they tell him how much they love him (Paulina looks worried about her lie being exposed that Lani is not really Abe’s bio-daughter).  As the episode comes to its conclusion, we see the back of Lexie making sure Abe is safe and sound among the living, while signifying she is watching over him.

And if that was not enough, this episode also picked up where John had confronted MarDevil in the church, letting Satan knows he is on to him and that he is not going to win … he is going to get Marlena back.  Satan drives home the point that Marlena belongs to him now.  John is mortified as the cross on the church wall turns upside down. Later to show off his prowess and control, MarDevil turns the holy water blood red. As the scene progresses, MarDevil is jumping all over the church and showing up in different spots.

Photo: JPI

John then gets the lowdown on how Satan struck a deal with Marlena to let Doug (Bill Hayes) live if she let him in.  That is followed, by some of the back-story of Marlena’s first possession over 25 years ago, and why it happened when she was alone and very distraught.  MarDevil even goes on to say that he tried once before to regain control of Marlena during the Salem Serial Killer storyline, but it did not work out that time, because all the victims turned out to be alive.  MarDevil brings up Stefano and how he had made Marlena believe John was dead which left her vulnerable.  He goes on to relate that Doug was the gateway for Marlena’s re-possession.

Photo: JPI

MarDevil tells John what she did with Doug by committing him and how she wanted to kill Julie. John knows that Marlena can hear him and tries to bring her back, but as the devil struggles with that, ultimately, he wins and begins to show his strength to John tossing him around the church, where he is eventually is knocked unconscious and then dragged to, we don’t know where, by the MarDevil!

Throughout the scenes, Deidre Hall looked like she was having so much fun playing the devilish one in this campy storyline revisited.

So, what did you think of James Reynolds performance and his 40th anniversary episode? What was your favorite moment? Are you glad John knows for certain now that Marlena is once again possessed? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Jensen Ackles Shares Heartfelt Message on Death of ‘Rust’ DP Halyna Hutchins: “This Has Been a Tragedy of Epic Proportions”

Former Days of our Lives and Supernatural star, Jensen Ackles (Ex-Eric and Ex-Dean)  took to his Instagram over the weekend to pay tribute to cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins who was tragically killed in New Mexico, on the set of the film Rust in which Ackles co-starred with Alec Baldwin and Frances Fisher. Baldwin is also one of the producers of the film.

Last Thursday, in the initial investigation reports surfaced that Baldwin discharged a “prop gun” leading to the death of Hutchins and injuring director, Joel Souza.  Since that time it has been reported that Baldwin was told by the assistant director, David Halls, that the weapon was a “cold gun” meaning not loaded with live rounds following its preparation by the film set’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez.  But in his affidavit statement, Halls says he was unaware that the prop gun contained live rounds when it was given to Baldwin for his scene.

The scene Baldwin was rehearsing was inside a church building at the Bonanza Creek Ranch. In new affidavit’s, it was noted that Baldwin was ‘cross drawing’ the weapon and pointing the gun towards the camera lens.

Photo: Getty

A grief-stricken Ackles shared:  “I’m not even sure where to start.  This has been a tragedy of epic proportions that we are all still processing. Earlier last week I felt compelled to tell Halyna just how awesome I thought she was. I told her how incredible I thought her camera shots were and just how exciting it was to watch her and her team work. Truly. She laughed and said thank you and gave me a hug. I’ll forever be thankful we had that moment.  She had a spunk and passion that infected the entire crew from the top down. She was an inspiration. My heart and prayers go out to Halyna’s husband, son and the rest of her family. There just aren’t enough words to express what an immense loss this is. She will be incredibly missed by all of us who knew and admired her.”

Since Hutchins’ death, a video also surfaced of Ackles discussing his concerns for gun safety on the set of Rust at a Supernatural convention in Colorado prior to the tragedy.

Jensen told the crowd: “I’ve got a 6 a.m. call tomorrow to have a big shoot-out. They had me pick my gun. They were like, ‘Alright, what gun would you like?’ and I was like, ‘I don’t know?’ and the armorer was like, ‘Do you have gun experience?’ I was like, ‘A little.’ And she’s like, ‘OK, well, this is how you load it, this is how we check it and make sure it’s safe. “So she’s like, ‘OK, I’m gonna put some blanks in there and I want you to just go and fire off a couple rounds towards the hill.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ So I put the belt on, I put the gun there, and I walked out and she’s like, ‘Just make sure that you know, you pull the hammer all the way back and you aim at your target.’ And I was like, ‘OK, I got it.’  The footage was originally on You Tube, but now has been taken down.

The investigation remains and open and active on what occurred on the set of Rust, according to the Santa Fe New Mexico Sheriff’s office.

So, what do you think about Jensen’s tribute in the wake of the Rust tragedy? Comment below.
