Days Of Our Lives
TODAY: Lamon Archey Makes His DAYS Debut As Eli Grant!

Six months and counting in the making, Lamon Archey hits the airwaves today when Eli Grant arrives on NBC’s Days of our Lives. His emergence will certainly make the temperatures rise for the ladies of Salem, and give grandmother Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) some emotional scenes.
On Wednesday, Lamon posted a very tongue and cheek video ditty via his Twitter account announcing his on-screen DAYS debut. You can check it out here!
Archey spoke with SOD on his highly-anticipated arrival in Salem, relating: “Like, ‘Let’s get this show on the road!’ I’ve been here near six months. It’s time to get the party going! I’m ready.”
On recalling his first day at his new digs Archey shared:. “I was shaking in my boots. I was really nervous. Now I’m much more comfortable and much more comfortable with the character. I understand a lot more about Eli, and I’m able to shape him in certain ways that blend with me, as well.”
So, are you looking forward to seeing Eli’s arrival and how it will shake things up in Salem? Comment below!
These characters have been dramatically aged and de aged, but that doesnt bother me. I dont get why David had to die to tell this story! Hire a 50 ish name actor for a short term stint to help usher this new character to the show instead of killing off more Horton legacy males.
We didn’t see David’s body, Jenny! Maybe his “death” was a plan to make Val realize she shouldn’t have kept Eli’s paternity a secret.
Being as this is Salem, even if we see a body and it has its organs removed, it can still come back to life. LOL
It would be nice if a very much alive David(Greg Marx) walked in…
This is exactly what i wanted to say…David could had showed up briefly, at first disbelieving Eli is his son until David is shot during a botched mugging attempt and Eli donated his blood and saves David’s life…test proves David is his father…father and son bond…Val and David nearly rekindle their old feelings for each other then David leaves town after learning his former wife Trish is gravely ill…where are the other Hortons and David’s son Scotty…day players could had been brought in to play the missing Hortonsfor David’s funeral.
Recording ahead 6 months for any show is entirely too much. I thought the ptb had decided to take it back to a 12 week recording schedule. jmho
I hope Lamon is a better actor than he as on Y&R.
Should be a good story and I look forward to seeing more Julie on-screen!
Julie and the show never mentions David – then suddenly a sentence and the next day he is dead – does anyone really care. Hopefully they don’t give him a funeral – Now a long lost grandson… I give him 6 months before the new writers decide to once again De Horton.
That’s not true, johnK. Julie spoke of David to Valerie at the hospital a couple times and at Horton Town Square. Valerie was also a guest at the annual Horton Christmas Tree Trimming where Valerie watched in wonderment as Julie hung David’s ornament. Others that spoke of David included Jennifer in a conversation with Valerie.
At least we know his storyline will run 6 months.
Why isn’t Hope at the funeral? That is so ridiculous for the writers to have her be sick.
Possibly because Kristian Alfonso was away making arrangements for and attending her father’s funeral.
I did not know Kristian’s father had died.
David’s other son Scott isnt there…if they bring him on im sure the writers will have Scott and Eli interested in the same woman just like David and his cousin Mike were years ago over Trish Clayton!…Trish and other Hortons should had been there as well!!!
I’d like to see a quad storyline involving JJ, Lani, Eli and Gabi.
I thought he did a great job today (Friday). If he is age-appropriate, shouldn’t Eli be approximately 40 years old. David and Valerie were on the show in the later 70s if my memory is correct.
The reason Hope was not there is that she had the flu (according to the phone call with Julie yesterday).
It looks like Eli and Lani might have some connection. Did JJ wake up and decide he is no longer interested in Gabi?
I really would like to see the cast downsized. There are too many people walking around with nothing to do. I can’t wait for Ron C.’s shows to start airing. The painful dialogue with Claire/Theo/Ciara makes me run to the remote control to fast forward. Painful dialogue.
Gabi broke up with him. I hope Days does better with Eli having scenes with the Hortons then GH did with Valerie never having scenes with the rest of the Spencer.
Please read my post below. I thought I clicked reply.
David and Valarie could have gotten together offscreen, any time within the lasy 34 years. After Val and Davids 70s dalliance, Valarie had come back into the show in the early 80s and was then paired with Abe breifly before she left again. David was involved with Rene’ before he left in the 80s. So they could have found each other outside of Salem. At least I hope that’s the story, otherwise it’s rewriting history.
As we suspected, stevie g, they did reunite afterwards. Valerie, in her discussion with Eli, confirmed it. She said they fell in love, tried to make it work, David wasn’t one to commit, she moved away, he found her in Washington DC, they were on and off and David left before she realized she was pregnant.
Yes, 4ever Days, where I live we don’t get Fridays ep of Days until Monday. I am so glad they utilised David and Vals long time offscreen rather than rewriting history. I just wish there were more people at the funeral. To have David die was bad enough, but a funeral for David Banning, with no Scotty, Trish or Mike there was a real jip to long time fans. Also they could have used extras to represent people who would have currently been in Davids life.
Ray, I haven’t seen toDAYS’ episode yet, but David and Valerie could’ve reconnected anytime, so Eli could be younger. I’m guessing his age is 33, the amount of years I’ve been watching DAYS. lol
Lots of May/December Relationships if they were all really represented their appropriate age via their storylines….. I have a hard time believing Eric and Jennifer….
Sorry, but was not a fan of him on The Young and the Restless, and definitely not a fan of him on Days of Our Lives. Hopefully this role is either written out, immediately, or is recast with someone else.
His performance was good. He had me crying on his first DAY!
I too thought he was good, penny, but I’m not a crier.
Currently I think Val, Abe, Theo, Eli, Julie,Doug this story is the biggest thing days has going on it favor, along with Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves)
Mysteries from the past always are intriguing for me.
