TNT’s DALLAS continues its second season tonight Monday April 8th with a two hour event with back-to-back episodes  starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT (special time)!  Will Harris Ryland and Cliff Barnes plans to bring down the Ewings finally work?

Here’s what to look for tonight, in the first episode entitled “A Call to Arms” (8 p.m. ET/PT), with the clock ticking in the wake of Cliff and Ryland putting Ewing Energies on the verge of collapse, the Ewings battle back with J.R.’s master plan to guide them. Christopher and John Ross attempt to bring Pamela into the fold by turning her against her father, but at the risk of alienating her completely.  Meanwhile, Bobby is on the brink of exposing Ryland’s crimes as Emma and Drew’s relationship continues to fracture, and Christopher closes in on finding his mother.

In the second installment entitled “Love and Family” (9 p.m. ET/PT), after Pamela proves her loyalty to John Ross, he goes out on a limb to let her in on J.R.’s master plan. But when Christopher’s suspicions about her seem to be right, John Ross begins to question if his trust was misplaced, leading Pamela to show her mettle in game-changing fashion. Meanwhile, Drew confides in Elena about a dark secret that leaves her forced to choose between her family and her love for Christopher. And Bobby continues his fight to keep Ewing Energies out of Cliff Barnes’ hands.

So what have you thought of DALLAS’ second season thus far?   Do you like where the story is headed?  What do you think will happen after the smoke clears after tonight’s two-hour event? And finally, who shot J.R.?  And, where is Pam? Weigh-in, but first watch below this teaser below with the final moments of last week’s episode and a preview for tonight!

Still a great show, and a worthy successor to the original.

Still miss J.R. Ewing, truly a one of a kind.

I keep 4getting this is on Mondays! Dallas is hot! Miss Larry Hagman and J.R. but feel he’ll continue to fight his enemies from beyond the grave! J.R. most likely shot by someone we least expect unless J.R. knew he was dieing from some unknown medical ailment and staged his own murder just to get one last chance to get back at one of his enemies!

Love the story line. Love the characters. Love the acting. Hate the camera work– I lost count last night of the number of times they use the close up and they cut away to long a shot, to go back to the close up. It was amateur hour. It was like a kid discovering the zoom button on his digital camera- It annoy the heck of me. I don’t remember then doing it so much in the earlier episodes this season- but last night- it was over used to nth degree.

‘Dallas’ star Ken Kercheval Dead At Age 83

Sad news to report for fans of the iconic primetime soap, Dallas.  Ken Kercheval, who played the thorn in J.R. Ewing’s (Larry Hagman) side, Cliff Barnes, has passed away.   The actor was 83 and died at his home in Indiana on Sunday.   The cause of death is under wraps.  He had been previously open about being a lung cancer survivor after years of smoking.

Kercheval was on Dallas for its entire run on CBS from 1978 to 1991, and returned to the TNT reboot from 2012 to 2014 to reprise his signature role.

On Dallas, Cliff Barnes was always the perennial loser when he went toe to toe with ruthless J.R, but in the final season, Cliff beats J.R at his own game and takes over Ewing Oil.  Cliff was also hopelessly in love with Sue Ellen Ewing (Linda Gray) and was the brother to Pam Barnes, played by Victoria Principal.

As for Ken’s first big acting breaks, that came on daytime soap operas when early in his career he appeared on Search for Tomorrow and How to Survive a Marriage.

Later, he appeared on episodic dramas such as Starsky & Hutch, and Crossing Jordan.  His final role was in a movie, 2019’s Surviving in L.A. said to be a comedy/drama in which he plays the business manager of a former teen sitcom star who trashed her life through drug abuse and is fresh out of rehab.

Y&R and Dallas Alum, Oscar Winner George Kennedy Has Died

George Kennedy,  the Oscar-winning star of 1967’s Cool Hand Luke, which also starred Paul Newman has died at age 91, his grandson, Cory Schenkel confirmed.

Kennedy died in his sleep at his Boise, Idaho home early Sunday morning, the day of the Academy Awards.  He had been in failing health ever since his wife Joan died a little over a year ago. George had been under hospice care for the past month.

In the soaps, Kennedy is most remembered for his guest stints on The Young and the Restless playing Victor Newman’s despicable father, Albert Miller.  Kennedy first played the role in 2003 and then reprised it again in 2010.   Victor’s relationship with his father gave Eric Braeden some of the finest material of his career as the complex Victor.  Albert had abandoned his family, causing his son to be raised in an orphanage.

CBS original primetime soap Dallas also featured Kennedy as Carter McKay, one of the Ewing families bitter enemies from 1988 to 1991.  Geroge also played the role in two follow-up TV movies, 1996’s Dallas: J.R. Returns and 1998’s Dallas: War of the Ewings.  In addition, Kennedy appeared in several of the 70’s major disaster films including the original Airport and several sequels, as well as in Earthquake.  In the 80’s, he would appear in The Naked Gun franchise of films along with Leslie Nielsen.
