always loved Christmas at the Horton house and those occasional ones that weren’t there but were mentioned as being missed

I love this time of year… it’s a given that I tear up and then some

I do think… DAYS should spend more time on and pan the whole tree… perhaps spend a minute more.. as the ending credits … so we can see all the names

beautiful

summons that much more emotion

It’s something I’ve always tuned in to see even when I wasn’t following the show on a daily basis. The Horton tree ornaments hanging is a Christmas tradition filled with so much joy that I’d miss it greatly if I couldn’t watch it. I love seeing so many of the characters all together in one place year after year for something so beautiful. I trust they will go above and beyond in this 50th year.

And Jessica too, Jimh!

I would like to see Jessica hanging her own ornament and her son’s…While hanging Nick’s ornament, Jessica can imagine her alternate personality hanging “Rick’s” ornament…Jessica gave birth to Nick and her alter gave birth to Rick!!!!!

Great clips! I love that Days does this tradition every year. I always loved Days and the ornament hanging along with Guiding Light and the storytelling and then the cast and crew singing in the credits.

I agree that the Christmas shows are beautiful. But where are the shows featuring other religious beliefs. Not all are Christian. What about Jewish and other religious traditions.

Love the annual Horton tree trimming show! It is my favorite part of Days. Look forward to it every year. Love family and friends together and the ritual and tradition. It is one of the happier upbeat shows. . Of course, it would be good if the show made mention of other religions as well at times.

The ornament hanging is a tradition. When we see it .we see the love the characters felt for each other. This is a Christmas tree.

Some of the younger couples (i.e. Will-Gabi, JJ-Paige) had the potential to become supercouples like John-Marlena, Bo-Hope, Steve-Kayla, etc. But the writers and/or producers messed it up with the stories they created for these young couples. Opportunity missed to continue the tradition set in place by Tom and Alice Horton (MacDonald Carey and Francis Reid). I have long believed that there are persons in Hollywood, and in particular the Daytime industry, who absolutely hate the values that Ted Corday used to create Days of Our Lives. (On person in the Daytime world even credited Irma Philips as creator of Days… Read more »

UPDATED:  According to Deadline  the cast and crew of NBC’s Days of our Lives will actually be returning tomorrow, October 20th to begin taping ahead of schedule after a positive Covid-19 test shut production down originally scheduled for two weeks.

The outlet cited, “Following a thorough investigation including contact tracing, quarantines, testing, and a deep cleaning of the studio, the health and safety experts at Days of our Lives have determined that it was safe to return to production before the end of the two-week period. As a result, the show will be back on set tomorrow Oct 20.”

Koslow shared: “Stepping into Monday in alice + olivia black velvet,” She also tagged the post #dressingroomselfie and the words. “Stay strong.”

Kristian Alfonso Bids Farewell to DAYS as Final Episode Airs Today Sharing; “Thank YOU From The Bottom Of My Heart For Welcoming Me Into Your Homes All Of These Years”

Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 marks the final appearance of Kristian Alfonso’s iconic run as Hope Williams on NBC’s Days of our Lives, a role she played on and off for more than 37 years.  Make no mistake about it, Alfonso was a staple of Salem and the DAYS family since she made her debut back in 1983.

However, over the summer viewers learned she would not be returning to the show when the series began production again in September, after she was told they were planning on resting the character of Hope for five months or so.  A decision that prompted Kristian to make a decision to leave the show for good and start a new chapter in her life.

To celebrate her run and to say a thank you to everyone at the show and her enduring fans, Kristian posted a video on her Instagram account of some backstage moments through the years to the tune of “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life”.  She accompanied her post with these words of thanks to everyone that has been by her side every step of the way:  “Being today is my last airshow, I wanted to share some of my favorite memories onset & behind the scenes I hope you enjoy it.  Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me into your homes all of these years.  And making me a part of your lives #xoxo ❤️  Thank you Ken & @nbcuniversal @nbc for a #beautiful #ride . #❤️ #😘”

James Scott Comments: “I Will Never. Never. Never. Never. Never, Go Back to Hollywood Let Alone DOOL”

Those hoping that finally James Scott would return to his signature daytime soap role of EJ DiMera on Days of our Lives, now that Alison Sweeney is on her way back to the show this fall for a longer run as Sami, can count those hopes now dashed and for good.

In a post on his Instagram account for his meditation and contemplations Sunday morning Zoom series and website, Scott posed with Deepak Chopra.  When a fans posted a comment in the IG account how they miss him on DAYS and to come back with Sami, James replied, “Hi – thanks for joining me here. Please know that I will never. Never. Never. Never. Never. Go back to Hollywood let alone DOOL. There is notbing interesting there for me. J”

Fan favorite James Scott, who has been MIA from the acting profession for awhile now is running The Whisper Within – and as detailed by the website, Scott explains how he left acting to be more involved with meditation and helping others find inner-peace – “In 2014, after a successful career in the entertainment industry, I found myself with everything and nothing.  I had money, celebrity, and status and the grief to match it. I had worked tirelessly for the better part of two decades to attain wealth and validation, yet no external thing could touch the emptiness I felt and the worthlessness I experienced.  I knew that something unknown wished to be known—something I could feel only through its apparent absence. In my despair and depression, I faced a simple choice: to change my lived experience or to end it. One felt impossible; the other easy I had already spent so much time reading self-help books, attending workshops and retreats, drinking concoctions with shamans, exploring tantra and abstaining from sex all together, dancing and singing, and many more practices, which had done little or nothing to abate the loneliness.

Desperate and in despair, still seeking, still suffering, I found my way to an Indian meditation center. I went for a week and stayed for a year. It was there in my own reflection that I found the teacher I had been seeking silently waiting to be known. At first, there was rage and anger, but eventually the intensity of the fire burned low and sadness took its place. I cried and cried until I cried myself empty and something new arose: beneath it all, I discovered a newfound peace. Like a fragrance arising from deep within, I heard the sound of the silence that can never be spoken: the eternal wisdom of the whisper within.  To live from this place is my practice and my path. To inspire others to do the same is my purpose.”

So, what do you think about James’ comments and path that he has now gone down for his life?  Do you think its time for DAYS to finally re-cast EJ? Comment below.
