Which Soap Family Would You Want to Spend Christmas With? The Forresters, Newmans, Hortons or the Quartermaines?

As is tradition, each year the four current soap operas, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives and General Hospital celebrate Christmas with episodes designed to bring characters together with their families for a day of love, fights, bickering, drama, kisses and more.

Next year in 2025, we can add the new CBS daytime drama to the mix, Beyond the Gates, and we will see just how the core family of the Duprees like to celebrate the holiday, as well. But for now, we ask you, if you were invited to spend the holidays with B&B’s Forrester family, Y&R’s Newmans, Days of our Lives Horton family, or GH’s Quartermaine clan, which would you choose?

On The Bold and the Beautiful, the Forrester family gathered and dressed for the most part in their finest. Pam (Alley Mills) did the cooking, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) looked like a stunning and beautiful couple, Taylor (Rebecca Budig) dressed for the occasion now that she is making out again with her ex Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), and everything looks lovey dovey on the surface, except Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is left out in the cold. She is celebrating Christmas with the Logan sisters, after having a massive fight with Ridge over becoming CEO of Forrester Creations after Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) takeover.

What Ridge didn’t know (before he got on top of the bed with Taylor), is that Brooke had a plan to become the CEO to convince Carter and Hope to give the company back to Eric and Ridge. Missing him on Christmas, she sends Ridge a text, he doesn’t respond. So,  tells herself by next Christmas she will be back together with Ridge. At the Forresters, they sing holiday songs, led by Eric. Would you choose to go to the Forresters?

On The Young and the Restless, Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) have settled into their Newman Ranch 2.0 and Claire (Hayley Erin) is now celebrating Christmas with the family as an “official member”, and even her dad Cole (J. Eddie Peck) is there. What they don’t know is Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise) are on the loose. However, you can’t get anymore lavish then getting to spend the holidays with Victor and Nikki Newman and their loved ones.  Would you like to spend Christmas with the Newmans and see how long things stay loving and sweet, before drama ensues?

Over at Days of our Lives, there is no other lasting family tradition on the soaps like Christmas at the Hortons, which has been handed down generations by the matriarch and patriarch, Tom and Alice Horton. Each year, the family gathers for the annual Horton ornament hanging ceremony on the Christmas tree. This year was no different, except Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) spent the holiday without Doug (the late Bill Hayes) for the first time since he passed. Would you like to spend Christmas at the Hortons and even get your own ornament to put on the tree?

Finally, General Hospital’s wealthy, chaotic, and double-crossing Quartermaines, always have fun, fights, conflict and some music on Christmas. This year, Tracy (Jane Elliot), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Lois (Rena Sofer) and Olivia (she must be cooking), celebrated with Ned (Wally Kurth), Giovanni (Giovanni Mazza) and Chase (Josh Swickard).

The three gents performed a song for the holiday at the request of the ladies. The happiness was juxtaposed with all of the drama surrounding the family with Drew Quartermaine’s (Cameron Mathison) deceptions and affair with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) being exposed, Jason (Steve Burton) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) taking a moment on the Q’s balcony to remember the loss of Sam (Kelly Monaco), and more. However, if you want to spend time with family who is not afraid to stab you in the back, this might be the the place for your Christmas, and who doesn’t love the Q’s!

So, given the circumstances, who would you want to spend Christmas with … the Forresters, Newmans, Hortons or the Quartermaines? Let us know you pick and why in the comment section! Happy Holidays!

The Scorpios.

I’ve actually spent a couple Helliday seasons in Salem. I’d go back again, but it might be cool to have some pizza at the Quartermaines. Or do they only do that on Thanksgiving?

Pizza is for Thanksgiving.

Quartermaines because of Tracy and Lois would be a good time.

Totally agree!
Quartermaines are the absolute funnest especially with Tracy and Lois.
Anytime they let Ned play guitar and sing, is extra special.

Either the Snyders (As the World Turns) or the Beales/Williamses (EastEnders).

Careful! You’ll be lucky to leave Walford alive during the holidays, lol!

Scott, I’m with you. I hear Emma calling us all to one of her special dinners, than sitting around the fire or maybe ice-skating on the pond? Pass the hot apple cider, quick before I cry.
Such fond memories from those days, right?

I’ve already tried posting, but it didn’t take I guess. i’d take the Snyder farm, with Emma calling us to dinner, a cup of her hot cider and maybe skating on the pond. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

I’m not going to be that one that chooses a family outside the list because I can follow directions. Certainly I can think of a GL family but if the listed, I would say the Hortons. The ornaments episode is always a fave of mine.

Although their family is not mentioned, would love to spent the holiday with the ASHFORDS!!!

WHY?

The Lord-Buchanans and, of course, the Cramer women.

The Quartermaine’s would be a good time! So happy that Tracey, Jane Elliot is back!

It’s all about the Hortons and the hanging of the ornaments! Would also love one of Alice’s famous donuts

I’d like to reserve a seat next to Tracy on the couch in the Q living room. Gossip for a bit then remind her it’s Monica’s house – Alan gave it to her. Tracy would reply “because he was an idiot.” Maybe sing a long with Ned.

For me, just one…Tracy Quartermaine of GH. I would have her (1) sit me down and (2) I would have her give me advice on how to cope with/deal with certain people (in my life) who get on my nerves. LOL

I would also love to hear Tracy’s views on our next would-be king, ready to take his throne! Am not referring to a GH character.

The Hortons and I love the hanging of the tree ornaments hanging tradition to have a Christmas tree hanging for my family it is so lovely see them standing around the Horton tree

The Q’s get my vote, but I’d be most at home with the Ryan family in NYC! ❤️

Quartermaines for sure!

I’d torn between the Hortons and the Quartermaines. The Hortons would be full of warmth and tradition, but the Quartermaines would probably be full of entertainment.

The Horton’s, of course.

I have to say the Hortons. I always enjoy watching their traditions especially when Bo and Hope are on it. The perfect couple.

Who’s cooking and serving dinner while Sasha is with her family on Christmas Day?

The hortons.because there is so much love and remembering the ones gone .I love it .

The Horton’s. Family first. Memories to last a lifetime

The Q’s, hands down. Who wants joy and tradition when you can have backstabbing and drama? Lol

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Sophia Seemingly Plans to End Her Life, But Not Before Setting Fire to Johnny’s Apartment With Him Trapped Inside

Published

The final few moments of the Thursday, April 30 episode of Days of our Lives, will pave the way, to what just may be the end of Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) life, but not as you may think!

After an unhinged Sophia paid a visit to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), maced him in the eyes, knocked him out and then tied up to a chair, now conscious, she lets him know that she holds him responsible for all the trouble and trauma she has gone through from adopting her child, and her being sent to a mental institution.

So instead of the unregistered gun Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) gave her to finish off Johnny, Sophia sets up a plan to light candle, use nail polish remover and turn on the gas on the stove to ultimately create a mass explosion, which although Johnny pleaded to her not to that to all the innocent people inside his apartment building, she doesn’t seem to care.

FIERY FACE OFF

The plan was supposed to be, after she takes care of Johnny she will toss the gun in the Salem River, then focus on payback to Holly Jonas before leaving town to start a new life.

Now, Sophia makes her exit, leaving Johnny to be a few moments away from an explosion or gas inhalation, when Chanel (Raven Bowens) comes home after awaiting the results of her mammogram. She sees Johnny tied up, as he panics and tells her to put out the flame on the candle, things go awry, and a fire has begun and everything may go up in flames with Johnny and Chanel inside.

A BROKEN SOPHIA

Back in her room, Sophia breaks down after reading the social media comments about her, she planted, and then starts writing a suicide or farewell note which says. “I’m tired of begging for forgiveness for my mistakes. All I wanted was to move forward, to be loved and understood. But it’s clear that I was never going to get that. Holly Jonas said that I was dead to her. So, as her former BFF, I’m going to make her dream a reality.”

A DEADLY TRAP

Now, the fate of Johnny, Chanel and Sophia will be revealed on tomorrow’s May 1st cliffhanger, which may be the end of Sophia when she crosses paths with Kirsten at the bridge near the river. We do know Rachel Boyd is no longer appearing in the show credits section and is now off contract with the soap.

So, what did you think of the climatic final moments of DAYS? What did you think of the performance of Rachel Boyd as Sophia Choi? Let us know via the comment section.

The series has been on the bubble for renewal by the network. His last episodes as Javi will also air this May on DAYS.

Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming, Martinez has been secretly ensconced in all the drama in Salem for quite some time. When viewers see the new Javi in story, we should learn what will happen in Javi’s relationship with Leo Stark played by Emmy winner, Greg Rikaart, plus his continued relationship with his relatives in the Hernandez clan. Currently, when Javi returned to Salem after taking care of his ailing father, and after the bust-up of his marriage to Leo thanks to Dimitri (Peter Porte), he claimed he had moved on with someone else while he was away from Salem.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Conner Floyd on Chad’s Quest For Abigail’s Resurrection; But Who Should Be Cast as NuAbby?

Published

on

By

Former Y&R favorite, Conner Floyd made his debut as the recast Chad DiMera on Days of our Lives last week on the April 21 episode of the Peacock streaming soap opera

Floyd replaced Billy Flynn in the role who is firmly cemented in his old stomping grounds of Genoa City and The Young and the Restless as Chad DiMera. For the last year or two of Chad’s story, he believed his wife, Abigail Devereaux DiMera could be alive, he even thought Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) was Abigail until the story turned.

Now with Floyd taking over the role and Lexie coming back to life after years of being dead, and Chad noting how Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton) and his brother, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), could resurrect somehow they all love, he thinks, how about Abigail? The part of Abigail was played by Kate Mansi and then Marci Miller.

Photo: JPI

Speaking with Stephanie Sloane for her new Daytime Dish Newsletter on the matter, Conner shared, “Any kind of idea that she could possibly be coming back, as farfetched as that may seem, he’s stuck on it. The idea gets in his head, and he’s locked in on it.”

CHAD WRESTLES WITH THE FATE OF ABIGAIL

Floyd added that Chad, “He’s asking Theo (Joseph Tyler Andrews) about it. He’s asking EJ about it. It’s one of those things where he loves her so much that the peace in his mind that he’s made with this kind of comes unbroken. So the fact that that she might be able to come back, he’s so bent on it, he thinks it’s going to happen and he kind of spirals away.”

A NEW ABIGAIL ON THE HORIZON?

Photo: ABC

That begs the question, with Days of Our Lives taping ten months in advance, which is already taking them into the beginning of 2027, is it possible that the soap has already recast Abigail and its being kept top secret?

Recently, it was revealed that former General Hospital favorite, Sofia Mattsson (ex-Sasha) has joined Days of our Lives. Back on March 30 it was reported that Mattsson is now taping all-new episodes that will be seen in 2027, but her role was being hush-hush! Could she the new Abby?

If not, the question is, since it seems that Kate Mansi is not coming back as she is firmly entrenched in her role as Kristina Corinthos-Davis on General Hospital and other outside projects, and Marci Miller has also been away from soaps for awhile working on other TV and film roles and indie motion pictures, who should play nuAbby?

Now below, let us know, who do you think would make the perfect leading lady opposite Conner Floyd as a recast Abigail Deveraux DiMera? Be our armchair quarterback casting director and drop your pick in the comment section.
