Are GH’s Chase and Brook Lynn at a Crossroads on Conceiving a Baby, Which Could Dovetail into Rumored Backstory of Gio’s True Parentage?

In the newly-released video preview for the Thursday, December 26th episode of General Hospital, it kicks off with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard). She asks her husband, “Are you saying you want to stop trying?” From the looks of it, Chase is attempting to have a talk with Brook Lynn, about maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t try so hard to conceive, or does he have something else to say on the situation?

If the couple puts on the brakes, does this open up the story that GH has been hinting at for months about Gio Palmieri’s (Giovanni Mazza) parentage? Viewers have witnessed Lois Cerullo’s (Rena Sofer) strange looks when talk of babies, or grandchildren have been mentioned at the Quartermaines.

Additionally, GH is ramping up the old feud between Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins), now that she is awake and out of a four year coma, and Brook Lynn. What better way to ignite it even further but the truth being revealed that Gio is actually Brook Lynn and Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) child! Certainly, that would put a massive wrinkle in the relationship between Chase and Brook Lynn and cause major issues for Dante and Lulu moving forward.

Courtesy/ABC

Then, there would be Carly’s (Laura Wright) part in all of this. Back in 2010, she told Brook Lynn she would finance her singing career if she slept with Dante and got it on tape as retribution against Dante for Michael being imprisoned. Brook Lynn drugged Dante and began to have sex with him, but Lulu found them in the original story.

Photo: ABC

One other theory floating around is that Gio could be Lulu’s son, because she supposedly had an abortion after her one-night stand with Dillon Quartermaine, but what if she didn’t? Soap operas often use revisionist storytelling to help propel current on-screen drama.

In other teasers for the episode, look for Dante to get alarming news. Michael venting to Jason, and as previously noted, Willow defending her actions!

So, what do you think Chase will say to Brook Lynn about conceiving children? Do you think Gio is Brook Lynn and Dante’s son? How do you see this story playing out? Share your theories via the comment section below, and check out the GH video tease for today’s episode.

Maybe the four layers of bed clothing is getting in the way of Brook Lynn conceiving? A sweatshirt? Does Tracy secretly turn down the thermostat to save money?

Well, I hate to state the obvious but perhaps Brooklyn’s first step toward conception would be to stop wearing multiple layers of clothing to bed. She always looks ready for an ice storm while in her marital bed, and I don’t think ice fishing is a proven method of fertilization.

To address the theories in the article above:
If Brook Lynn had Gio – they are strongly hinting that occurred when they were teenagers in camp – not during the time Carly was using BLQ to break up Dante and Lulu.

You would think that ABC learned their lesson with Erica’s unabortion storyline that most fans detested. I strongly doubt they would revisit that type of story. Besides, Dillon would need to be brought back for that storyline.

Please, for all that’s right and sane, no repetition of that horrid abortion-baby storyline! That was the beginning of the end for AMC. Dante and Brooklyn, as established, had never been intimate and had a sibling- like relationship. Moreover, when Cody arrived on the scene, Dante introduced him to Brooklyn making it clear that they had never met. But now you have Cody talking about his time at camp with Brooklyn and Dante. I don’t mind subtle history revisionism but when the past is twisted and distorted to fit plot driven writing, it’s irritating.

Please, this is nothing compared to the Sasha switching her hair for Cody’s and it showing no relation to Mac, Sasha’s uncle. Now that’s twisted and distorted to fit plot driven writing. Not to mention Holly’s dead/not dead mother taking care of Sasha all these years. Not every new resident of Port Charles needs to be related to a family. If it fits the story, that’s great. I think Cody being a Scorpio makes sense. But why did they have to have Sasha be one too – especially when it contradicts so much!

I sure agree with you and have been trying to figure out the reasoning behind this farce. Also why go all through this craziness, only to kill off Sasha, which I’ve been reading, true or not? It’s like they have numerous writers and none of them know what the other is writing, nothing much meshes anymore. Can’t believe how much I USED to love this show!

They better not kill off Sasha! The idea that they’d kill of Sasha while keeping the hypocritical, morally corrupt, self-righteous, tight- lipped Willow is outrageous. I’m not sure if the writers are willfully trying to make us hate this character, (once a brave heroine whom viewers rooted for) or it’s accidental. The same goes for Drew who currently enjoys more collective hatred than we harbored for Peter ( who we were supposed to hate).Drew had the audacity to tell Willow that she doesn’t have to answer to “ that guy” referring to Lucas. Drew ain’t fit to wipe Lucas’s shoes. The nerve.

It’s just lazy writing. When’s the last time a soap did THREE paternity retcons in 6 months. We accepted the Cody reveal because it gave a beloved character (Mac) a biological son. This was despite long term viewers knowing it didn’t fit it in timeline we watched in the 90s.

The Sasha retcon is even more impossible to explain in the timeline. But, it wasn’t too late to keep the train in the station with this ludicrous Gio story. With the slow burn they’ve been doing, it could easily been dropped once they started to see negative fan reaction.

I have commented before about the plot driven writing that inexplicably and illogically made Sasha a Scorpio. Clearly they did this to free Cody up for a possible romance with Lulu just as they’re forcing the idea that Gio is Dante and Brooklyn’s son. There is a glaring pattern of lazy, sloppy, history revisionism transpiring with the writing of stories as of late.

The most obvious inconsistency about the “BrookLynn/Dante summer camp hookup” thing is that there should be a significant age difference between the two.

Brooklynn was born in the mid 90s when Lois & Ned were married. By this time Sonny was already in Port Charles for a while, preusmably several years removed from his teenage years with Olivia Falconeri, which resulted in Dante’s birth. And of course Dante and Sonny didn’t know about being related to each other until the fact came up at the most inopportune time.

(Cue Olivia shouting “Sonny! You just shot your own son!!”)

So there’s not a snowball’s chance in my back yard that these two would have been in the same summer camp. Unless Dante was one of the camp counselors preying on underage girls, and that definitely doesn’t sound like something he would do.

Chase and Brook Lynn have got to be the most unattractive couple on GH. You’ld think they might show a little bedroom romance, especially when trying to make a baby! She wore her usual B.R attire again today, in bed with Sweats, oyevey!

GH writers have become the most sloppy revisionist writers in Daytime TV, I mean they are going all out flipping everything and making stuff up along the way, we all know the time Frame in daytime is all over the place, kids are sorad and aged, with the exception of Robin, almost every kid born on GH is not the actual age they were born, and I’m not mad at that but now we have the show hinting that Gio is possibly Brooklyn and Dante kid, this after making Cody Macs kid and Sasha Roberts kid. This show has has gone out this year an not in a good way with trying to sell us on these surprise crap that some of us saw coming a mile away, The pile on has been really excessive this year. And also of note, all the recast has been excessive too, Nukristina, NuMolly,NuLulu, NuEmma, NuLucas, What we really need is NuWriters and NuShowrunner.

New Molly, Lulu and Lucas are really doing well. Jury is out on Emma and a lot of what’s weighing on Kristina is due to the storyline.

The show has survived periods of multiple recasts in the past (particularly late 70s).

After today’s show, looks like Anna’s little Emma is going to keep her busy, with what looks like a lot of shenanigans, that will keep Grandma busy full time.

I think Brook Lynn being Gio’s mother is ridiculous! Apparently, her mother and others knew and never uttered a word, especially them all having big mouths. I can’t buy this for a minute, even if it turns out to be the real story. Also Sonny took care of Gio his whole life, is he suppose to know the “real” story too? And if not Dante as daddy, who gets the credit?

Please guys, does anyone really care where Geo came from? He’s very sweet and all that,, but Brook Lynn’s son is really stretching here, like everyone knew except she and “daddy”. How stupid and boring.
The writers are hinting at a lot of scenarios and one with Dante finding love again could mean that Chase and B.L breaking up, and enter Dante B.L and Geo makes three??

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
