Y&R's Kristoff St. John Releases Statement On The Tragic Death Of Son Julian

Daytime Emmy winner and long running series star of The Young and the Restless, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) has released a statement today via Entertainment Tonight on the tragic death of his son Julian who died before the Thanksgiving holiday.
St. John shared: “It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming heartbreak that I regretfully share the news that my beautiful, talented, 24 year old son, Julian ‘Jewels’ St. John, passed away on November 23. He suffered from schizophrenia for many years and tragically lost his life just a few days before Thanksgiving, and two weeks before his 25th birthday. His legacy will live on in our hearts and for those that continue to suffer from this insidious disease. My ex-wife Mia, Julian’s sisters Paris and Lola and I, are all devastated beyond words and belief. We mourn the loss of our son, brother, artist, poet, and a giant of a young man. A beautiful life gone much too soon. Julian will forever be remembered as he now takes flight with angels.”
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced via Radar Online that while it has been believed that Julian died in an apparent suicide their source, Assistant Chief Coroner, Ed Winter detailed that: “Julian was found by a staff member at a facility in Long Beach on November 23.” The item goes on to say that Julian was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathroom. And although the incident is listed as a possible suicide, the official cause of death has been deferred pending additional testing and a toxicology report. No official report is available yet.
On-Air On-Soaps heart goes out to her dear friend Kristoff St. John through this ordeal, and we are thinking of him, and his loved ones, as it is always difficult to have to report news on something of this nature.

I don’t know you personally but I feel like I do from watching Y&R for over 25 years.
I have experienced the pain of losing 2 children. I empathize from the bottom of my heart.

So tragic. If it was ruled a suicide, even worse.
My dad’s mom had schizophrenia back in the 50s and they put her away. She got out and they found she had drowned. They never said it was suicide, but most likely it was.
I can only imagine the pain that this family is going through. Sadly, this will have implications for the rest of their lives. My dad came down with depression when he turned 40, partly because he never grieved the loss of his mom and was only 6 when she died.
If it is suicide, I think that has to be 100 times worse than an accidental death because the person just could not live life anymore and all the questions that leaves for the loved ones left behind.
I pray for Kristoff and his family. This is so sad.

Mental Illness is definitely a silent illness and unless you have walked in the shoes of a person suffering from that especially, wehave to be mindful of negative comments and not assume that the info being told is the actual truth. It shouldn’t matter to the public how Mr. St. John’s son died, only that he has, and that the family is in deep mourning because of it. We should extend our heartfelt sorrow and best wishes to them all and hope that they know their son is now, hopefully, at peace. I don’t like media outlets that decide to run these “We have sources who contradict what they’re saying” kind of stuff. As we used to say in the business, anything to sell papers, I guess…I just wish that the media would stop those kinds of tactics. I wish the best to the St. John family. I know they are hurting. <3

I’ve met and talked with Kris on a few occasions and he was always very nice and accessible. Just a regular guy. My heart goes out to him and my condolences for the loss of his son. My beautiful, talented grandson had this horrible disease. Watching him go through the day to day battles that this mysterious malady inflicted on him was heart wrenching. Because there is no medication for certain types of schizophrenia, there was nothing anyone could do medically. He was literally in hell from the time it started until his tragic death.
My heart goes out to Kristoff and his family. May they now have peace knowing he is not suffering anymore. My belief is that he is whole now and can enjoy his talents to their fullest.

For this reason I am opposed to the way Y&R has told Sharon’s story thus far. Here is a fan favorite who erred, but is punished now seemingly for doing the right thing. I hope the writers learn from this tragedy at home & fix this s/l. Nick needs to be taken down several pegs. You must stop with the Newman are Gods madness!

I can’t imagine what turmoil you, Mia and your daughters are going thru at this difficult time! There are no words to say how sorry I feel that your son was taken from you at his young age! Whatever I say won’t bring back your son but just know that he is in a better place now! The holidays will be hard not having your son there but take comfort that he is surrounded by heavenly angels and he doesn’t have to fight his disease anymore!

I’m so sorry for the loss of your son Kristoff, I pray he is at peace now. It is so hard to lose someone from that disease my brother Joe Joe passed away March of 2007 and there’s not a day that I don’t think about him,he suffered from schizophrenia 4 more than 20 years and dealing with that is something hard for that person and their family, all we can do is love them through it, God bless you and your family we’re praying for you also.

My heart and prayers goes out to you, family and friends, for I to suffered a loss 10 years ago, when I found my best friend in her car. And she was an only child . All the counselling and medications could not stop to what happened next.
We only can be more aware of all the different diseases that causes things like this to happen.
He is free, and with that being said, he no longer suffers.

It Breaks my heart for all the family. I am a young n restless fan. I lost my son in may of this year due to spinal cancer. Our children are not supposed to go before us. It was all of a sudden. My greatest sympathies for you and your family. My prayers are with you.
Our 22 y.o. son has schizoaffective disorder also with deep depression. We know the grief and loss of the life we imagined would be for our bright, musical, creative, artisitic, athletic and handsome son. Our son played double bass and electric bass for 6 yrs, received 2 Dayton Art Institute scholarships for his fantastic visual art and masks, played, soccer, baseball and was fun-loving, gregarious and popular. His symptoms began in high school but we didn’t know it was schizophrenia creeping in. He lost everything: job, apt., girlfriend after he had just begun his life. Schizophrenia is a mean disease and steals young men’s and women’s lives just when they are spreading their wings to fly.
We are SO sorry you have lost your beautiful son.
We know he is safe in God’s arms and wish you all the prayers and comfort you deserve. It is so difficult to lose a child to mental illness.
Thank you for sharing his life with the public. You are helping decrease the stigma of mental illness and making the world a better place for us all. We hope that, if you have the energy to do so, you can help the NAMI (Nat’l. Alliance for Mental Illness) organization. It has really helped our family cope.

Susan Flannery and Ian Buchanan Visit the Set of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’; Daytime Emmy Winners Reflect on Show Then and Now
The one and only Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie Forrester) dropped in to see her former co-stars on The Bold and the Beautiful at their Sunset Las Palmas Studio in Hollywood, along with her good friend and another B&B co-star Ian Buchanan (ex-James Warwick) on Tuesday October 20.
It was the first time in a very long time that The four-time Daytime Emmy winning actress was reunited with Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, Jennifer Gareis and even her TV sister, Alley Mills (Pam, B&B now Heather, GH) showed up for the day too!
Flannery played the Forrester matriarch from 1987 until 2012. It was then that after playing the part of Stephanie for 25 years that Susan made the decision to retire from acting and in one of the most heartbreaking sendoffs, passes away from lung cancer in Brooke’s arms in November of 2012. During her B&B tenure, Flannery won 3 of her 4 Daytime Emmys, the other being for her first soap role as Laura Horton on Days of our Lives back in 1975.

As for Ian Buchanan, he played Dr. Warwick, psychiatrist, from 1993 to 1999. He returned for other runs in 2014 and 2017. Buchanan took home his Daytime Emmy in 1997 for his work as James. Soap fans also remember, Ian as mobster Duke Lavery on General Hospital, and Dr. Greg Madden on All My Children,
Both Susan and Ian shared their thoughts on coming back to The Bold and the Beautiful, for Susan 14 years later since he exited and for Ian close to 9 years since his last appearance below.
Susan said, “It’s definitely like coming home in a way, even though it’s not the same studio. It’s really lovely to see old faces and old faces with new faces. It takes you back mentally. You start remembering what it was like back then, even things like how much your feet would ache at the end of the day from wearing six-inch heels. It was just lovely to be back and see everybody.”

Ian expressed, “It’s a mind trip, you know. When I was sitting looking at the big Forrester set, it was like stepping back in time, almost. It takes you back mentally, and you start remembering what it was like when you were here before.”
“It’s lovely to see all these people again, even if you don’t know everybody,” explained soap vet Buchanan. “There’s something really special about coming back and seeing the show and the people who have been part of it for so long.”

Tabitha Brown and Kandi Burruss Guest Star on ‘Beyond the Gates’ for Dani’s ‘Welcome to Your Life’ TV Special; What Could Go Wrong?
As previously announced, Beyond the Gates is bringing chef, author and actress Tabitha Brown and Grammy Award-winning songwriter, singer and actress Kandi Burruss to Fairmont Crest in a special episode of the CBS daytime drama airing Thursday, October 22.
In the episode, Dani’s (Karla Mosley) best friend Pamela Curtis (Cady McClain), arranges a “Welcome to Your Life” television special for her. As it turns out, Brown will play the show’s host, Tia Allen, while Burruss takes on the role of Dani’s first modeling agent, Kalista Kilroy, who turns the celebration of her life into a bad trip down memory lane.
Dani’s parents Anita and Vernon (Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis), sister Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix), and daughters Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) all join the show to celebrate and support her but also witness how things so south. Also appearing in the episode are Molly Figueroa as Tatum Stewart and fan-favorite Anita Williams (Tunie) impersonator Jackie Tyree!

THE 411 ON TIA AND KALISTA
Speaking with TV Insider, about their soapy experience in Fairmont Crest, Tabitha Brown previewed about her host with the most, “Tia is very professional, but she’s a girl’s girl. She is a protector of women and wants to tell their stories in a beautiful way, but she also wants to make sure they’re seen in a very good light.”
However, Burruss previews that Kalista arrives with a score to settle. “She’s spicy,” shared the recording artist. “I always love playing somebody that has come to start trouble. It’s always fun to play a villain of sorts, but Kalista feels like she’s been done wrong and she’s hurt by what she feels has been done to her. So Kalista is stirring up trouble, but she feels justified putting Dani on blast. Kalista is ready for some payback.”

For months now, Days of our Lives has teased the character of Dominic Marino. In recent weeks, viewers learned that Marino is on the down low working with Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) apparent fiancé ‘Dante Vitali (Franco LoPresti), and that he is the never-before-heard-of child of Stefano DiMera (the late Joseph Mascolo) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall)!
Up until now, the Peacock streaming soap opera has never revealed his face, but that all seemed to change on the Tuesday, October 2o episode of DAYS. In story, Dante met Sami’s parents for the first time, Roman (Josh Taylor) and Marlena.
He shows them a photo of Dominic, which he happened to have on his own phone and even commented he kind of looked like he could be Marlena’s son. The photo, which has quickly made it around Soap Twitter/X, revealed that British-born actor Kyle Pryor is the man in the photo and eagle-eyed viewers actually located said photo on Pryor’s Instagram.

Deadline revealed Pryor started taping at the end of 2025 and will first be seen in the role, on air Monday, November 2. In addition, Days will celebrate its 61st Anniversary with two special episodes featuring Dominic’s arrival, as well the returns of Tony and Anna DiMera, played respectively by Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley, on Friday, November 6 and Monday, November 9.
Those in the know, are are that Pryor previously held series regular roles on Australia’s Home and Away, and the UK’s Hollyoaks and guest starred on Emmerdale. In an ironic twist, Pryor appeared in the series Spartacus: Blood and Sand which is the same action series his apparent TV brother, Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera), once appeared in before coming to DAYS.
