Y&R's Kristoff St. John Releases Statement On The Tragic Death Of Son Julian

Daytime Emmy winner and long running series star of The Young and the Restless, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) has released a statement today via Entertainment Tonight on the tragic death of his son Julian who died before the Thanksgiving holiday.
St. John shared: “It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming heartbreak that I regretfully share the news that my beautiful, talented, 24 year old son, Julian ‘Jewels’ St. John, passed away on November 23. He suffered from schizophrenia for many years and tragically lost his life just a few days before Thanksgiving, and two weeks before his 25th birthday. His legacy will live on in our hearts and for those that continue to suffer from this insidious disease. My ex-wife Mia, Julian’s sisters Paris and Lola and I, are all devastated beyond words and belief. We mourn the loss of our son, brother, artist, poet, and a giant of a young man. A beautiful life gone much too soon. Julian will forever be remembered as he now takes flight with angels.”
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced via Radar Online that while it has been believed that Julian died in an apparent suicide their source, Assistant Chief Coroner, Ed Winter detailed that: “Julian was found by a staff member at a facility in Long Beach on November 23.” The item goes on to say that Julian was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathroom. And although the incident is listed as a possible suicide, the official cause of death has been deferred pending additional testing and a toxicology report. No official report is available yet.
On-Air On-Soaps heart goes out to her dear friend Kristoff St. John through this ordeal, and we are thinking of him, and his loved ones, as it is always difficult to have to report news on something of this nature.

Sorry for you loss Kristoff. The loss of a child is tragic and I pray you and your family can get through this together.
Sorry for your loss I understand what it is like to lose a child and I also know time hills all wounds. Praying for you and your family.
Hey I also sorry for your loss. Your in my prayers.
Sorry for your lost Krisoff. Losing a child is a great loss because #1We as adults believe we will go first but only God knows. I pray that the peace of God will over take and protect you and your family. Earth has no sorrows that heaven can’t heal.
Dear Kristoff and family:
I don’t know you personally but I feel like I do from watching Y&R for over 25 years.
I have experienced the pain of losing 2 children. I empathize from the bottom of my heart.
JD-
So tragic. If it was ruled a suicide, even worse.
My dad’s mom had schizophrenia back in the 50s and they put her away. She got out and they found she had drowned. They never said it was suicide, but most likely it was.
I can only imagine the pain that this family is going through. Sadly, this will have implications for the rest of their lives. My dad came down with depression when he turned 40, partly because he never grieved the loss of his mom and was only 6 when she died.
If it is suicide, I think that has to be 100 times worse than an accidental death because the person just could not live life anymore and all the questions that leaves for the loved ones left behind.
I pray for Kristoff and his family. This is so sad.
Sorry for your loss will keep you and your family in our prayers
my thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mental Illness is definitely a silent illness and unless you have walked in the shoes of a person suffering from that especially, wehave to be mindful of negative comments and not assume that the info being told is the actual truth. God Bless the family and may the Soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
So sorry! Deepest sympathy!
Kristoff I am so very sorry for the loss of your son. You, Julian & your family are in my prayers. There is no greater loss than the loss of a child.
So sorry for your loss.Prayers to you and your family.
Such tragedy I don’t even have the words after reading your heartfelt statement. No parent want to lose their kids so soon or ever before them. The pain I’m sure you all cannot express it is beyond hurt. It is devastating I pray for your family Kristoff St. John and just know the world is praying with you. May Julian take his wings and fly he’s free. Living in the kingdom no more sadness he is free. Amen
It shouldn’t matter to the public how Mr. St. John’s son died, only that he has, and that the family is in deep mourning because of it. We should extend our heartfelt sorrow and best wishes to them all and hope that they know their son is now, hopefully, at peace. I don’t like media outlets that decide to run these “We have sources who contradict what they’re saying” kind of stuff. As we used to say in the business, anything to sell papers, I guess…I just wish that the media would stop those kinds of tactics. I wish the best to the St. John family. I know they are hurting. <3

I am deeply saddened by the loss of you son. Words could never articulate what I would like to say to you, but I am a strong believer in prayer. May God be with you, Julian’s mother, and your entire family during a devastaing period of your life. The hurt will always be there, but God has away of making the pain better. Take the time to grieve, and take the time to celebrate Julian’s life.
My thoughts are with you doing this most difficult time in your life
What a beautiful, sentimental statement. This news is so incredibly tragic. The worst loss imaginable. My heart is heavy and my eyes full of tears after reading Mr. St. John’s statement.
So sad.
My prayers go out to Mr. St. John and Mia St. John and their families. RIP Julian.
I’ve met and talked with Kris on a few occasions and he was always very nice and accessible. Just a regular guy. My heart goes out to him and my condolences for the loss of his son. Mental illness is a mother*****ker and all we can do with those who suffer from it, is just to love them and keep holding them to their highest potential.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I too lost a son and in time, time does heal. You and your family well always have Julian in your hearts. My prayers are with you and your family for the precious son that is in Heaven.
I am so very sorry for your family’s tragic loss Mr. St. John. The loss of a child is particularly painful. May you all take comfort in the memories you have with your beautiful son Julian. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My beautiful, talented grandson had this horrible disease. Watching him go through the day to day battles that this mysterious malady inflicted on him was heart wrenching. Because there is no medication for certain types of schizophrenia, there was nothing anyone could do medically. He was literally in hell from the time it started until his tragic death.
My heart goes out to Kristoff and his family. May they now have peace knowing he is not suffering anymore. My belief is that he is whole now and can enjoy his talents to their fullest.
I’m sorry for your loss, Lynda. I lost my 17 year old nephew 2 yrs ago. My heart goes out to The St. John’s and all families that deal w/this epidemic.
For this reason I am opposed to the way Y&R has told Sharon’s story thus far. Here is a fan favorite who erred, but is punished now seemingly for doing the right thing. I hope the writers learn from this tragedy at home & fix this s/l. Nick needs to be taken down several pegs. You must stop with the Newman are Gods madness!
I totally agree with you, and I hope Y&R WRITERS show that her disease is under control as she is committed to staying on her meds. Blesssings to all who are affected by a mental disease, and to Kristoff and his family.
Ann,
Thank you for your condolence.
Lynda

Kristoff,
I can’t imagine what turmoil you, Mia and your daughters are going thru at this difficult time! There are no words to say how sorry I feel that your son was taken from you at his young age! Whatever I say won’t bring back your son but just know that he is in a better place now! The holidays will be hard not having your son there but take comfort that he is surrounded by heavenly angels and he doesn’t have to fight his disease anymore!
Have a blessed holiday season and know that your viewers (friends) that watch you every day are praying that time will heal the hurt for you and your family!
A loyal viewer,
Claudia
Why does rhe media just “frenzy” on reports? It’s really none of the media’s business on how St. John left this world. His family is suffering from their loss!
Enough said ! Send condolences and prayers! May God bless and comfort this family in their grief.
So sorry your son and all of you have suffered from this disease. I pray you know he is 200% well now. Peace I pray for you also.

I am so sorry for your loss. More and more I am learning about mental illness since it is being discussed more. It’s bringing awareness to how serious mental health is.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your son Kristoff, I pray he is at peace now. It is so hard to lose someone from that disease my brother Joe Joe passed away March of 2007 and there’s not a day that I don’t think about him,he suffered from schizophrenia 4 more than 20 years and dealing with that is something hard for that person and their family, all we can do is love them through it, God bless you and your family we’re praying for you also.
So sorry to hear of your loss and pray for your family to find peace… I have a granddaughter with this and pray daily for her safety.
I’m sorry to hear of your lost I know how it feels to lose someone you love so much but God will carry you through this.
I am so very sorry for yout loss. The saddest thing in the world is losing your child. May he dance among the clouds until you meet again. Good bless you.
So sorry for your loss Kristoff St John sending prayers to you and your family. May God give you all strength to carry on.
My heart and prayers goes out to you, family and friends, for I to suffered a loss 10 years ago, when I found my best friend in her car. And she was an only child . All the counselling and medications could not stop to what happened next.
We only can be more aware of all the different diseases that causes things like this to happen.
He is free, and with that being said, he no longer suffers.
Sincerely;
LoriAnn Wenzel

My prayers go out to all of your family. God has a reason but we can’t understand why. God bless all during this painful time.
I have being a fan for decades and want to express my prayers for the lost of your special son
I’m totally sorry for the lost of your may God keep humble doing the time of your sorrow one of your Young and the Restless fans from Shreveport Louisiana
My greatest sympathies for you and your family. My prayers are with you.
Our 22 y.o. son has schizoaffective disorder also with deep depression. We know the grief and loss of the life we imagined would be for our bright, musical, creative, artisitic, athletic and handsome son. Our son played double bass and electric bass for 6 yrs, received 2 Dayton Art Institute scholarships for his fantastic visual art and masks, played, soccer, baseball and was fun-loving, gregarious and popular. His symptoms began in high school but we didn’t know it was schizophrenia creeping in. He lost everything: job, apt., girlfriend after he had just begun his life. Schizophrenia is a mean disease and steals young men’s and women’s lives just when they are spreading their wings to fly.
We are SO sorry you have lost your beautiful son.
We know he is safe in God’s arms and wish you all the prayers and comfort you deserve. It is so difficult to lose a child to mental illness.
Thank you for sharing his life with the public. You are helping decrease the stigma of mental illness and making the world a better place for us all. We hope that, if you have the energy to do so, you can help the NAMI (Nat’l. Alliance for Mental Illness) organization. It has really helped our family cope.
Remember – “Life is the School and Love is the Lesson”.
Your love for him and you both sharing the reality of his life honors him and that love will live on thru eternity.
God bless your son and all those who loved him

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

The movie is currently shooting in Chicago and in story, “a cult leader is put on trial after causing his devoted followers to be burned alive. GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
