Y&R's Kristoff St. John Releases Statement On The Tragic Death Of Son Julian

Daytime Emmy winner and long running series star of The Young and the Restless, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) has released a statement today via Entertainment Tonight on the tragic death of his son Julian who died before the Thanksgiving holiday.

St. John shared: “It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming heartbreak that I regretfully share the news that my beautiful, talented, 24 year old son, Julian ‘Jewels’ St. John, passed away on November 23.  He suffered from schizophrenia for many years and tragically lost his life just a few days before Thanksgiving, and two weeks before his 25th birthday. His legacy will live on in our hearts and for those that continue to suffer from this insidious disease. My ex-wife Mia, Julian’s sisters Paris and Lola and I, are all devastated beyond words and belief. We mourn the loss of our son, brother, artist, poet, and a giant of a young man. A beautiful life gone much too soon. Julian will forever be remembered as he now takes flight with angels.”

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced via Radar Online that while it has been believed that Julian died in an apparent suicide their source, Assistant Chief Coroner, Ed Winter detailed that: “Julian was found by a staff member at a facility in Long Beach on November 23.”  The item goes on to say that Julian was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathroom.  And although the incident is listed as a possible suicide, the official cause of death has been deferred pending additional testing and a toxicology report. No official report is available yet.

On-Air On-Soaps heart goes out to her dear friend Kristoff St. John through this ordeal, and we are thinking of him, and his loved ones, as it is always difficult to have to report news on something of this nature.

Share your thoughts on Kristoff’s heartfelt statement on the loss of his son Julian in the comment section below.

Dear Kristoff and family:
I don’t know you personally but I feel like I do from watching Y&R for over 25 years.

I have experienced the pain of losing 2 children. I empathize from the bottom of my heart.

So tragic. If it was ruled a suicide, even worse. My dad’s mom had schizophrenia back in the 50s and they put her away. She got out and they found she had drowned. They never said it was suicide, but most likely it was. I can only imagine the pain that this family is going through. Sadly, this will have implications for the rest of their lives. My dad came down with depression when he turned 40, partly because he never grieved the loss of his mom and was only 6 when she died. If it is suicide, I think… Read more »

my thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mental Illness is definitely a silent illness and unless you have walked in the shoes of a person suffering from that especially, wehave to be mindful of negative comments and not assume that the info being told is the actual truth. God Bless the family and may the Soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

Such tragedy I don’t even have the words after reading your heartfelt statement. No parent want to lose their kids so soon or ever before them. The pain I’m sure you all cannot express it is beyond hurt. It is devastating I pray for your family Kristoff St. John and just know the world is praying with you. May Julian take his wings and fly he’s free. Living in the kingdom no more sadness he is free. Amen

It shouldn’t matter to the public how Mr. St. John’s son died, only that he has, and that the family is in deep mourning because of it. We should extend our heartfelt sorrow and best wishes to them all and hope that they know their son is now, hopefully, at peace. I don’t like media outlets that decide to run these “We have sources who contradict what they’re saying” kind of stuff. As we used to say in the business, anything to sell papers, I guess…I just wish that the media would stop those kinds of tactics. I wish the… Read more »

I am deeply saddened by the loss of you son. Words could never articulate what I would like to say to you, but I am a strong believer in prayer. May God be with you, Julian’s mother, and your entire family during a devastaing period of your life. The hurt will always be there, but God has away of making the pain better. Take the time to grieve, and take the time to celebrate Julian’s life.

I’ve met and talked with Kris on a few occasions and he was always very nice and accessible. Just a regular guy. My heart goes out to him and my condolences for the loss of his son. Mental illness is a mother*****ker and all we can do with those who suffer from it, is just to love them and keep holding them to their highest potential.

My beautiful, talented grandson had this horrible disease. Watching him go through the day to day battles that this mysterious malady inflicted on him was heart wrenching. Because there is no medication for certain types of schizophrenia, there was nothing anyone could do medically. He was literally in hell from the time it started until his tragic death.

My heart goes out to Kristoff and his family. May they now have peace knowing he is not suffering anymore. My belief is that he is whole now and can enjoy his talents to their fullest.

I’m sorry for your loss, Lynda. I lost my 17 year old nephew 2 yrs ago. My heart goes out to The St. John’s and all families that deal w/this epidemic.

For this reason I am opposed to the way Y&R has told Sharon’s story thus far. Here is a fan favorite who erred, but is punished now seemingly for doing the right thing. I hope the writers learn from this tragedy at home & fix this s/l. Nick needs to be taken down several pegs. You must stop with the Newman are Gods madness!

Why does rhe media just “frenzy” on reports? It’s really none of the media’s business on how St. John left this world. His family is suffering from their loss!

We only can be more aware of all the different diseases that causes things like this to happen.
He is free, and with that being said, he no longer suffers.

Our 22 y.o. son has schizoaffective disorder also with deep depression. We know the grief and loss of the life we imagined would be for our bright, musical, creative, artisitic, athletic and handsome son. Our son played double bass and electric bass for 6 yrs, received 2 Dayton Art Institute scholarships for his fantastic visual art and masks, played, soccer, baseball and was fun-loving, gregarious and popular. His symptoms began in high school but we didn’t know it was schizophrenia creeping in. He lost everything: job, apt., girlfriend after he had just begun his life. Schizophrenia is a mean disease… Read more »

Walt Willey Brings All My Children’s Jackson Montgomery to General Hospital

Look for another legal eagle character from a former ABC soap opera to pop up on General Hospital!

News today out of Soap Opera Digest has that none other than Walt Willey set to reprise his role as All My Children’s Jackson Montgomery on upcoming episodes of GH in July.

Willey played Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) love interest and the Pine Valley lawyer from 1987 through to till ABC’s cancellation of the series back in 2011.  The actor previously crossed-over to another soap opera in 1996, when he played Jack on ABC’s The City.

Photo: ABC

Taking to his Facebook account, Walt confirmed the news on his appearances on GH: “Hey Folks… Been sitting on this one for a while but now I’ve been given the clearance to announce that “Jackson Montgomery” is visiting Port Charles! I’ll be doing a few episodes of General Hospital, due to air mid July. So excited to reprise my character and see and work with old friends! I’ll keep you posted on any details. “Jackson” in Port Charles…who would have thought it? Let me, and ABC, know what you think about it!”

Could Jack’s sudden arrival in Port Charles have to do with the SEC and the trouble that Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) find themselves in?   Will AMC fans get to see Cameron Mathison and Willey share scenes together again?  Mathison played Ryan Lavery on the beloved former soap opera.

So, excited to see Walt on General Hospital? What do you think brings Jack to Port Charles? Weigh-in below and stay tuned.

DAYS Alum Jensen Ackles on ‘The Winchesters’ Inability to Find New Home is a Case of ‘Unfortunate Timing’

Former Supernatural, Big Sky, and Days of our Lives star, Jensen Ackles (ex-Dean, ex-Beau, ex-Eric) took to social media on Saturday when the news broke that his series, The Winchesters, in which he executive produced, has run out of options to find a new home.

The show which aired for one season on the CW was a prequel to Supernatural.   In an update, The Winchesters producing studio, Warner Bros, attempted to find another network or streaming partner to move forward with the series after its cancellation.

Now comes word that all avenues have been exhausted.  All this, even though a #SavetheWinchesters campaign led by Ackles, himself, was attempted to bring some attention and heat on the show.

Photo: NBC

Jensen expressed his ‘thanks’ to the viewers and cited the current WGA writer’s strike as one of the main contributing factors to making the search for a new home for the series extremely daunting.

Ackles shared: “To all of you who watched, followed, and supported this story, THANK YOU. And to all those who brought this show to life…I couldn’t be more proud of what we all did together. But as they say…timing is everything. With a massive Network shift coupled with an industry strike…welp…that’s some unfortunate timing. Sleep well dear  @WinchestersOnCW…until we meet again. Somewhere down the road.”

So, did you watch The Winchesters? Do you hope it can someday return? What did you think about the sentiments shared by Jensen Ackles? Comment below.
