Y&R's Michael Muhney on Shadam, Playing Bad & More!

The Young and the Restless’ Michael Muhney makes Adam Newman one of the most complex and interesting characters to watch on daytime television.  The talented Mr. Muhney spoke with Soaps.com about Adam’s relationship with Sharon, stepping into the role of Adam to begin with and the complexities of the situation, and Adam’s estranged relationship with his father, Victor.   Here is an excerpt below!

Muhney on Adam’s true feelings for Sharon: “Adam finds himself wanting to be a better man because of Sharon. I’ll be honest, I think that in real life, if you left most men to their vices and women weren’t in the world, men would be even more corrupt than they are now! I think that Adam feels he has a lot more to lose now that he has Sharon. ”

So with all the twists and turns going down for Sharon and Adam, do you think there love will endure? Let us know.

Absolutely yes. This is Shadam-made — angst, long-suffering, pain and then, after an exhaustive trial, the passionate, explosive, sensual and ultimate reunion.

This is what Shadam is all about — romance with an edge, angst before heaven — a soapy couple for the ages.

I’m glad we know they aren’t gonna last forever. I’m sorry but as talented as Muhney is, he and Stafford united on screen is the epitome of explosive, tainted, soapy super coupledom. IMO they are the true forbidden love and YR is missing the boat by not pairing the together. Shaon and Adam bring out the worst in each other and make the other character boring. I’m sorry, but her grown son told her she is a bad mother, and she is giving up a life w/ her daughter for a life w/ Adam. Not the Sharon I remember. I… Read more »

I would have a hard time truly believe that he loves her much as he does. When he is trying to convice her to runway right after a possible Veridict in a murder case.If he truly loves her then he would’ve even have her do this.I am sorry to me the writers are hurting Sharon character now with the possible of her running away convice by Adam. That is what is hurting her character more then anything else. Its almost like Sharon is looking through rose color glasses. Not opening her eyes of what Adam wants her to do.Not only that it will hurt… Read more »

After reading the blog on Y&R today why do I get the feeling this new man in Sharon’s life is going to be the real Victor Newman Jr? Any thoughts????

Funny you should say that. My sister and I have never believed he was the real Adam for some reason. So you think the new hunky Vet is the real V.N Jr.?? This storyline with Sharon and Adam totally turns my stomach. Not just the whole baby thing. He’s Nick’s brother, what was she thinking in the first place?? Also, in New Orleans, didn’t she tell Adam she chooses Nick, then Nick dumped her. What’s with this I love you crap. Had Nick not left her, it’s exactly where she’d be. Adam can make her believe anything he wants….I can’t… Read more »

Adam exhibits pause and restraint and regard for Ashley when he is in her presence. My wish is that Muhney would have the same level of regard for fans who feel the way Ashley does. When Ashley forgives him for the heinous things he has done, I will too.

I am loving Shadam!!! I think Sharon Case and Michael Muhney sizzle on screen together and quite honestly I haven’t enjoyed watching Sharon this much since she first got Cassie back. Her and Nick were boring, boring, boring and Nick with all his constantly trying to save her just made her weak and whiny. With Adam she has finally gotten a back bone, which she had reminiscent of one during the first part of her relationship with Jack but then she regressed, and i am so happy to see Sharon get some spunk and fight for what she wants instead… Read more »

Mishael Morgan Reveals Why She’s Taken ‘A Bit of a Step Back’ From Y&R and Gone on Recurring Status

This past June, we all celebrated the groundbreaking victory of The Young and the Restless‘ Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) as the first Black actress to ever win in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category during the 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

In the months that followed, Mishael has not been seen as much on the top-rated CBS daytime drama, plus when fans noticed she was no longer in the opening main credits, it got them wondering just what is Morgan’s status with the show.

Finally today, via video on her Instagram story, Mishael shared some news after finishing her day of taping in Genoa City.

The Emmy-winner revealed she has indeed gone on recurring status with the show: “I just wrapped my last scenes back at Y&R, and I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag a little bit.  A lot of people have noticed that my name is not on the main credits anymore, and I wanted everybody to know that it was my decision.  I decided, actually, back in December, that I wanted to take a bit of a step back from the show.  I just felt like at this point in my life and this point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit. But Y&R will always be home. I have so appreciated this safe place to land that they have given me, so I know that I can be back. They are like family to me, and coming back just reminds me of that.”

Morgan also thanked the loyal viewers and her followers expressing, “I’m so appreciative of you guys, and all the fans who have supported me along this Y&R journey. But I’m still on it, I’m still going to be recurring, so you’ll still catch me in Genoa City.”

The talented star ended with a tease of projects and roles to come, telling her fans to, “Keep looking out for new things.”

So will you miss not seeing Mishael as much on Y&R?  Are you exciting to see what roles and projects she gets involved with next? Are you glad she is still recurring with the show and will continue to make appearances in stories? Comment below.

GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn Shares Excerpt From Her Upcoming Memoir

In celebration of beginning her 27th year as Alexis Davis on General Hospital, two-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Nancy Lee Grahn, decided to mark the occasion by revealing to her longtime fans an excerpt from her upcoming memoir due out in 2023.

Taking to her official Facebook page, Nancy shared the excerpt starting with contained some of the back-history of her soap opera alter-ego : “I play the role of Alexis Davis. I am a public defender, prosecutor, personnel injury, civil, malpractice, tax and family attorney. I am the bastard child of Mikos Cassadine who died after being thrown into his own weather machine which he designed to freeze the world. My mother, Kristen Bergman was a famous opera singer whose throat was slit by my father’s wife, Helena. Unhappy with the turn of events, I hurled my frail 75 year old stepmother off a five hundred foot parapet slamming her onto jagged rock only for her to walk away unscathed. Even more determined, I shoved her off a thousand foot cliff into the frigid subzero ocean. Helena not only survived unscathed, she apparently scaled 1000 feet up the cliff and continued to wreak havoc on Port Charles.”

Nancy closed the excerpt with some special acknowledgements: “Always so grateful to have an ongoing contract, my own parking space and people I’ve never met who come up to me regularly and tell me how much younger I look in person. It’s a gift that I have been able to and still get to do what I love to do for such a gloriously long time. I love my job the most because it is the job that gave me the security I needed to greenlight Kate as a single mother, raise her while being able to give her the things I dreamed of giving her, put her through school all the way through college, and will hopefully allow me to spoil my grandchildren. The enormous love & gratitude I have for ABC and Disney for allowing me the privilege of working for them is immeasurable. But the real truth is without the support from all of you, this day would not be what it is. As always, I see you and thank you.”

Make sure to read the entire excerpt.  Now let us know, are you looking forward to what Nancy will share in her upcoming memoir? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
