Y&R’s Tracey E. Bregman and Kimberlin Brown Pelzer Talk the Iconic Battles of Lauren & Sheila

Photos: CBS and IMDB

As part of “Villains” theme week on The Young and the Restless, Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) and Kimberlin Brown Pelzer (Sheila) reunited for a walk down memory lane of one of the greatest and most twisted knock-out drag-out feuds in the history of daytime drama.

The longtime iconic duo talk about many of their storylines; complete with baby switches, notorious catfights, doppelgangers, treachery and more, with Michael Fairman for a very special virtual conversation on The Michael Fairman Channel on You Tube.  Tracy and Kimberlin chatted with Michael from their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the interview, Kimberlin revealed how: she was originally cast as Sheila, what happened when she thought she was exiting Y&R for good and her run with Sheila was over; only to find out that Bill Bell (C0-Creator, Y&R and B&B) had plans for her to move over to The Bold and the Beautiful and continue playing the role.

In addition, Tracey shares: how some of those iconic fight scenes between the two were physically demanding and tough to do, plus the actresses give us insight into filming some of their most popular scenes; including yesterday’s classic episode that aired (which can now be found on CBS All-Access and CBS.com under season 42) where Sheila wreaks havoc on Lauren and Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) honeymoon with an assist from “Terrible” Tom played by the late Roscoe Born.

Finally, the women weigh-in on what they think a solid storyline would be in 2020 or 2021; if Sheila was to re-emerge in Genoa City and reignite the feud with Lauren and her loved ones!

Sheila vs Lauren was easily the best story of the early 90’s. taking them to B&B was amazing where I enjoyed them even more…they have a rich history with the Forresters which I’d love to see brought to life again. The classic episode of Sheila’a “goodbye” party airing next week on B&B is priceless.

This made my whole day—seeing my two favorite actresses of daytime ever. Lauren has to find out that sheila is alive. How Eric didn’t call her when Sheila popped up back on B&B always had me dumbstruck. I bet these ladies have one more round of cat fights to go before we have to call it a day. The last time we saw Sheila, she was more or less behaving herself. That’s not the Sheila we know!!

The reruns of Y and R remind us how good Y and R could be in the show would use its key players that are now non-contract – Michael and Laureen, Kevin, Paul and Christine, all now just used as filler.

This was a very good interview. Thanks for conducting it and posting it. The Lauren/Sheila conflict was great for the first 15 years. When Y&R made the poor decision attempting to continue the drama without Brown — having Michelle Stafford play “Sheila with plastic surgery” and later Bregman playing Sheila’s never-before-mentioned sister (who, inanely, had plastic surgery to resemble Lauren) accompanied by Sheila’s never-before-mentioned twin children, they almost ruined things. I would have asked the actresses for their thoughts on these later two plots (the ones without Brown). Also, it seemed beyond strange to me that, a few years ago,… Read more »

B&B’s Kimberlin Brown and Tanner Novlan Talk on Sheila’s Motherly Love for Finn and the Next Move Against Steffy & the Forresters

The Bold and the Beautiful’s mother/son duo of Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter) and Tanner Novlan (Finn) chatted with Michael Fairman during a virtual interview for the Michael Fairman Channel; about the return of soap super-villain Sheila to the CBS daytime drama series, and its impact on newlyweds Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn, and their newborn son, Hayes.

When daytime fans learned that Brown was returning to B&B, they were very excited to see back on-screen as one of the greats, who’s character has caused so much trouble for the residents in both Genoa City 0n The Young and the Restless and in Los Angeles on The Bold and the Beautiful with her various crimes, deceptions, and plots over the years.

However, this time, viewers learned that Sheila is the biological mother of good doctor, Finn and her entrance into the story (at the wedding reception for Finn and Steffy) threw disruption into the lives of the Forresters and for her the son she never-got-to-know that she gave up at birth.

During this entertaining and candid conversation, Kimberlin and Tanner reveal many behind-the-scenes tidbits including: what went down during the  taping of the scenes where Finn learns Sheila is his mother as she steps out of the shadows, the confrontation at the wedding when the Forresters learned this shocking bit of intel, how Sheila plans to continue to manipulate and weave her way into her grandson and son’s life, and how she sees her vendetta with Steffy as an off-shoot of her vendetta with her grandmother, the late Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery).

In addition, Tanner weighs-in on Finn’s apparent ignorance of Paris’ (Diamond White) growing attraction to him, how that might trigger a Sheila/Paris partnership, or the possibility that Sheila does the unthinkable and somehow gets Steffy hooked back on opioids, or makes it looks like she has. There were many theories bantered about, and the actors share their speculative thoughts.
