It’s a good time to be bold and beautiful!  Brad Bell (EP and head writer, B&B)  and his writing and producing teams, along with its cast, have turned in quite the ratings performance in the just completed second quarter of 2015!

According to numbers released today by CBS, The Bold and the Beautiful delivered its biggest second quarter audience since 2006, averaging 3.95 million total viewers which is up +5% from last year.

On the strength of the disclosure of trans woman Maya Avant (Karla Mosley) and her love story with Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), and the ramifications of it, B&B scored its best numbers in almost ten years!  The show is also continuing to keep their audience interested with their other storylines as well, as indicated by their uptake in viewers.

What do you think about B&B’s total viewers and ratings number giving it the best second quarter in almost a decade?  Has the series been the best it has been in a long, long time?  Share your thoughts below!

I can see how a disclosure of a trans woman would bring in the curious and others, of course..
ALL the soaps have a hook at one time or another, and that was good one..
WTG, B&B !

As for the ratings, the sponsors and suits go by the numbers of-
September to September <— is when they look for all the statistics .
(they don't bother much with the weekly)

(google) Once there was 54 soaps, wow what a list I read,, then down to 19 main soaps then there was 12, now just the 4 ..
Have to support the soaps ..

I see the remaining 4 soaps remaining..
Some stories are better and more intriguing than others, it's a rollercoaster of ups and downs..

Pratt is whipping Y&R into shape, it's the best it has been in years!!
GH will pick up after these stories end and the new begin, a lot of good stuff coming..
DOOL looked as if it were cleaning house and bringing in new to tune it up, that is good..

I like Ron and Pratt .. I like both Y&R but GH has my heart/#1 !! 🙂

LONG LIVE THE BIG 4 !!!

Ron is killing GH!!! The show is on a downward free fall!! If TPTB do not replace him soon those ratings will be going down even more …… Tony is NOT getting the exit storyline he deserves! Been watching for 43+ years and I barely recognize this show anymore – the rate they are going I will be tuning out when his story ends #Whyratingsaresolow …. Rewriting history instead of building from it. Not the way to go! 🙁

Yes the hook was Maya/Myron and how is everyone going to react . The writers shocked me by having JR I mean RIck lover her anyway. I thought for sure this was just goingto be their vehicle to send him back to Caroline .

Where I really give props to B+B is after that story played out I was fully prepared to be bored and change the channel again then thy kept having even better stories like Bill’s final say in Forrester and crazy Aly going to bring some pain .

Bravo B+B from cant stomach to cant miss in a year

Brad Bell’s genius.

Jacob Young and Karla Mosley are TEARING up the screen lately! I am so excited that the writers and producers would do this storyline and take the chance they did. I have so many friends that are in the LGBT community, and last month was a historic month for them. B&B gained a lot of respect from myself (which they already had

After same story lines being recycled a bunch in the entire soap world, the Maya storyline actually shocked me, and that’s hard to do! I thought it was great and creative, but Rick’s reaction was totally unrealistic. If my hubby found out I was born a man and stole his choice about that including the choice of picking a woman who could carry his child the relationship would be toast. That being said, it was awesome and I was totally glued to the tv! Way to go, B&B for earning your viewers with honest to goodness creativity!!!

Go B&B!
CBS is on a roll!

Karla Mosley & Jacob Young have just been absolutely amazing and seeing Rick & Maya’s journey has been well there really are not any good enough words to describe it but its been flawless is a good start. Also the show in general has been pretty well balanced with all their storylines B&B have been amazing all found in 2015 so the ratings definitely show reflect that

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

With the Melrose Place revival the talk of the town, now Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH, ex-Nick, B&B and ex-Peter Burns, MP) has weighed-in on it and if he would show up in the new series if it should find a home.

Currently, CBS Studios is developing a reboot starring Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton. But what is Dr. Peter Burns were to show up alive?

As those who saw the end of the original MP know, Peter and Amanda (Locklear) faked their deaths and then tied the knot with Peter on a beach, supposedly in a “happily ever after” scenario.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Wagner expressed, what we all know who watch the soaps, that no one is never, ever really gone for good. Jack expressed, “You never really die on a soap, right? How they unfold those two characters (Peter and Amanda), it’d be fantastic how they sort of tell that story.”

Wagner added, “That was a great finale to be included in, especially with Heather. If I’m asked to come back, I’d absolutely entertain that.”

The original Melrose Place aired for seven seasons from 1992 to 1999. The story featured the residents of an apartment complex, whose lives were intertwined. Eventually Wagner and Heather Locklear dated fro 2007-2011.

As previously reported, the new Melrose Place share that some of original neighbors and friends reunite after a death. The loglines add, “The pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you like to see Jack Wagner return as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, or Frisco Jones on GH, or both? Comment below.
