On Sunday night at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards airing on ABC, Hacks was the surprise winner in the final award of the night for Outstanding Comedy Series marking its third win for the night including for its star Jean Smart, who won her sixth Emmy Award, and for its writing.

However, it was FX’s Shōgun which won Outstanding Drama Series and for its stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai first Emmys as Lead Actor and Actress in a Drama series. Sawai becomes the first-ever Japanese actress to win the gold. Shōgun took home the most Emmys when it tallied 18 including its win in the Creative Arts ceremonies.

The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach each scored their second consecutive Emmy as Lead Actor and Supporting Actor Emmys respectively in a Comedy Series while Liza Colón-Zayas won Supporting Actress on her first nomination. The series broke its own Emmy record scoring 11 if you add in their Creative Arts victories last weekend, to best their previous record, which was 10 won during the pandemic-delayed Emmys.

Richard Gadd scores three Emmy Awards for Lead Actor, Producing and writing for his work in Baby Reindeer. The series nabbed a total of six Emmys including the Creative Arts ceremonies. Jodie Foster won her first career Emmy in the Lead Actress in a Limited Series category for her performance in True Detective: Night Country.

Greg Berlanti received the Governor’s Award and gave the most moving speech of the night Berlanti has either served as a creator, writer and/or executive producer on close to 50 TV shows when he started out as a staff writer for the series, Dawson’s Creek. He shared, “I wanted to be a part of television even before I knew how that was possible. So many Gen X kids in the 70s and 80s, the one color TV our family could afford was on around the clock in our house, and I watched and loved all of it. Berlanti who has been pivotal for the representation of the LGNTQ+ community on TV, added “There wasn’t a lot of gay characters on television back then, and I was a closeted gay kid, and it’s hard to describe how lonely that was at the time. There was no Internet to connect with other queer kids, no LGBTQ+ advocacy groups in schools. Back then, the only way to tell if another kid might be gay was if he also watched Dynasty, Dallas and could name all four of the Golden Girls.”

Jelly Roll performed his hit “I Am Not Okay’ during the In Memoriam segment while Jimmy Kimmel took the stage for a salute to Bob Newhart, who passed away back in July at 94. The Emmy broadcast was hosted by the father/son duo of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy.

During his acceptance speech John Oliver flubbed when trying to thank his son. “I’d like to thank my wife, Kate and our kids, husband — ‘husband’ — Hudson, his name is Hudson. Ouch. That’s gonna come back to haunt me.”

It would be nice if the Emmys still went to shows on Broadcast TV instead of combining with streaming. All these series I haven’t seen. Why not have a separate awards shows for streaming shows? JMO.

I totally agree or maybe broadcast shows have a separate category We would appreciate some love for young Sheldon ghosts blue bloods Chicago fire etc The cable shows have more liberties but so many broadcast shows deserve the recognition and Jamie is right This is probably a major reason for poor ratings no one knows half the shows and there has to be more than Jennifer Aniston in the audience

I agree. I didn’t know any of the Movies or the actors, except the exceptional hosts

I totally agree!

This week alone we have had 2 award shows no one cares about first the MTV awards and now the prime time Emmy’s mtv should bag there show they haven’t played videos in years and then the Emmy’s they will always remain but boy is it garbage Baby reindeer really Realize Jackie Gleason never won and either did Jason Alexander but baby reindeer no one cares anymore and you’ve got the Bear in the wrong category

The series has been on the bubble for renewal by the network. His last episodes as Javi will also air this May on DAYS.

Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming, Martinez has been secretly ensconced in all the drama in Salem for quite some time. When viewers see the new Javi in story, we should learn what will happen in Javi’s relationship with Leo Stark played by Emmy winner, Greg Rikaart, plus his continued relationship with his relatives in the Hernandez clan. Currently, when Javi returned to Salem after taking care of his ailing father, and after the bust-up of his marriage to Leo thanks to Dimitri (Peter Porte), he claimed he had moved on with someone else while he was away from Salem.

His girlfriend decided to check on him after he was taking too long and found him unconscious on the bathroom floor?” Shana added that paramedics rushed over and tried to revive Patrick, but there was nothing anyone could do.

Soap fans first saw Muldoon as Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) son on DAYS back in 1992, where he quickly became a fan favorite during the on-screen love story between Austin and Carrie Brady (Christie Clarke). Patrick left the series in 1995. He later made comeback for appearances in 2011 and 2012.
