Cailtin Reilly to Appear in General Hospital Tribute Episode to Her Father John Reilly

Tik Tok star, Cailtin Reilly, who is the daughter of the late soap veteran, John Reilly, will play a key role in the General Hospital tribute episode in her dad’s honor.

According to Variety who broke the casting news, Caitlin will portray Annie, formerly known as Anna, the daughter of her father’s character Sean Donely and Tiffany Hill (Sharon Wyatt).

In a statement on her casting,  Caitlyn expressed: “Words can’t describe how honored I am to be playing my dad’s daughter on the show. I grew up on the set of ‘General Hospital,’ watching him work for years, so it’s exciting to dive into a new character in honor of him. He’ll absolutely be by my side in spirit on set rooting me on. It fills my heart with gratitude to be a part of this tribute to him, and to feel so close to him working on a show he loved so much doing.”

The character of Anna was last seen on-air back in August of 2013, when she was portrayed by Courtney Halverson. In story at that time, Sean was poisoned by polonium and he teamed up with Luke (Anthony Geary) to track down the man who extorted millions for the cure, while Anna repeatedly got in contact with that man to get the medicine her father so desperately needed.

John Reilly passed away back in January 2021.  The talented actor first appeared on GH back in 1984 and last appeared on the daytime drama series back in 2013.

So, looking forward to seeing Caitlyn playing Sean and Tiffany’s daughter? Comment below.

She actually looks like she could be the offspring of Sean & Tiffany, so that was probably a good choice. Not to mention she won’t really be acting when she talks about her dad, so that should add some authenticity to whatever they have in mind for a tribute episode.

Have to admit I felt a little queasy today to hear Sean Donely’s name spoken by Whiny Heiny though. They better not cheapen this upcoming episode by putting that idiot in it or giving him any association with whatever death they’re planning for the character.

Satan
You are the perfect “story teller” to fill in those of us that don’t know Sean and Tiffany. Also story said something of saving Anna’s dad. Didn’t know she had one. Yes, I know she didn’t hatch out of an egg.

Would be great if Tiffany were there too.

Sharon Wyatt, sadly, has had health concerns for a number of years. They’ll probably have Annie mention that her mother was too grief struck to return to PC.

At this point, I’ll just be happy if we see Kristina Wagner. Felicia has not been on screen for nearly a year – despite her daughter going through all types of drama and her place of business being bombed. Not sure if it’s KW’s decision not to film during Covid or something on Frank’s end.

Hey Steve! Your update on Sharon Wyatt is worth mentioning, sad though it is. But I also want to thank you for mentioning Kristina Wagner as Felicia. A terrific, appealing actress with a great GH history! Sean was like a father to Felicia, so it would certainly make sense to have her around in these upcoming scenes, even if they neglected to do so in the last year. Best to you, Friend!

Would be double-good if Sharon Wyatt as Tiffany Hill was there with her.

I watched GH when he and Tiffany were on. I thought his daughter was younger. Maybe I’m remembering a different story.

Is this for just one episode or recurring?

“Annie” was born off-screen in ‘94 or ‘95. This will maker her either 27 or 26. Caitlin Reilly is 31 so with SORASing, her age makes sense for the character. I like the idea she was hired to play “Annie.” Hopefully, the producers use home videos and family photos for the memorial.

Patrick Mulcahey OUT as General Hospital Co-Head Writer

After various reports surfaced, it has been confirmed that Patrick Mulcahey is out as the co-head writer of General Hospital. This is after a very short tenure of under five months.

Mulcahey was named to the position back in January of 2024 along with longtime GH writer Elizabeth Korte. They replaced the team of Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, who had been the head scribes of the long-running ABC daytime drama since 2019.

A source informed Soap Opera Digest that stories created by the co-head writing team of  Mulcahey/Korte team will air through mid-summer. However they added “There will be more news to share at a later date as to the composition of the new writing team.”

In addition, eagle-eyed soap fans have seen that in recent episodes former co-head writer, Chris Van Etten has been credited, as he is reportedly a breakdown writer with the show.

Soap Opera Network is reporting that Korte has assumed the head writing duties solely on her own at the moment, while Buzz blog initially reported Mulcahey’s exit.

We will have more on the GH writing team evolution in the days ahead.
