As 2013 comes to a close and we are just a week away from the New Year, ABC has released a brand new promo for General Hospital that informs the viewer that there is plenty of drama ahead!
First, Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) are seen cozy in bed, what does the future hold for this reunited couple? The mob war continues as Sonny (Maurice Benard) warns his son Morgan (Bryan Craig) that a target is on his back as Julian (William deVry) continues his plans to take down the Corinthos clan by any means possible!
And look for catfights galore as Ava (Maura West) gives a very stern warning to Carly (Laura Wright) stating: “I will make it a mission in my life to wipe you off the planet!” Oh my! Nothing like seeing two of daytime’s strongest female characters and performers going at it in the New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !! My big wish – is that they make Julian emotionally review his life as he falls for Alexis and his kids. Please, Please, don’t make Alexis like another bad guy. I can’t take that anymore! It’s SO annoying and demeans her intelligence. Very misogynistic. Pass the word lol………..please.

I wish Sonny would go back to the cool persona he had in his hey day of the mid 1990’s…. remember after the war with Joe Scully Sr. was won and Sonny guaranteed that Luke’s club was no longer in danger because he was going to run his territory with “brains, not guns.” He was totally mellow and sexy, somehow now he is so often a parody of himself. Ewww…..Patrick and Sparkle Pony were an un mitigated disaster. Patrick always looked like the trapped wild animal willing to chew off a limb in order to get away from that perky little trap. They has no chemistry, there was no build up to their “romance” and subsequent heart break thus forth most fans are really rooting for Patrick and Robin to stay together. Of course, TM is pregnant in real life and knowing how creatively limited Ron is, he will probably not only have Patrick torn between two women, but torn between two children–oh yawn.

This is the first time in months that I recall the mob being featured front and center on the show, and I don’t mind it at all. When it was featured all day every day back in the Phelps/Guza era, that I didn’t like. But I think the current regime has found a nice balance. I’m enjoying the show more now than I have in years. Hope Frank, Ron and company keep up the great work in 2014!

Maura VS. Laura is one battle I’ve been dying to see on this show. Two of the show’s strongest actresses and two of the strongest in the whole medium. I am so Team Ava, though!
I agree Scott, this should be a great battle. I was never familiar with Maura other than reading about her. I liked her almost immediately on GH. She seems to be enjoying playing her character also which makes it more fun for the audience.
Maura West; on General Hospital, has finally caught my attention.
#1. As the world Turns… Carly… 2 time emmy winner… deserved those accolades… I just had a hard time.. with Carly and Rosanna… debut on the show… as the Snyder farm family was disintegrating and obliterated.. so.. hence.. I didn’t take a true liking to her… be that as it may… I watched ATWT to the very last day…
#2. Dianne… on Y&R. Nothing to say… even she will admit… it’s all a blur… and not worth the effort… she was wasted and coulda woulda shoulda had something with Nick. she was killed off… Y&R’ fault.
#3. Ava Jerome… slithered, sauntered, and sensual’ her steamy seduction… OK… exaggeration… but.. she’s relevant… and I, for one.. like the underlying current with Ava and Julian… Ava and Franco… Ava and Morgan… Ava and the Quartermaines… Ava and Silas… Ava and cat on a hot tin roof.. best Carly

I think her enjoying Ava is what makes her so intriguing to watch. You’re watching an actress excel in her craft in a role she loves playing. Ava is the boss bitch in Port Charles, and I can’t wait to see everyone bowing down to her power.
Same here! I wasn’t sure about Ava at first but Maura has made me a believer. She and Julian are a fantastic duo and an epic showdown with Carly is just what the doctor ordered. These two women will kill it!!

I couldn’t stand Maura’s version of Carley on world turns.hated her she ate the show. Ava she is ok I would love to see her win over Carley. actually she already has. Carley got Franco that’s a lose lose situation/. He set her son up to get raped.Of course Carley also set her other kids to get hurt by Sonny so she is batting a thousand.

So glad Laura Wright is finally being given the credit she deserves!
I disagree about overacting! I cannot comment on the original Carly as I didn’t watch GH at the time that she was on the show. I was an avid GL fan and liked Laura Wright as Cassie, but love her even more here as Carly in GH! Easily one of my favorites…and her chemistry with Roger Howarth is unmatched by anyone except maybe Kelly Monaco and Michael Easton! I will say that I like Sarah Brown as an actress though, but since I did not see the show with her on it, I simply cannot imagine anyone else playing the role. Being that Laura Wright just signed a multi-year contract that will make her the actress who has played the role the longest, I doubt that you will get your wish! Sorry to disappoint… Overacting by the way is the guy who plays Morgan and even worse TJ!
I don’t have anything against Laura Wright – I can see that she is a good actor. I just think she is SO miscast for the role of Carly. Not right physically, no chemistry or believability in any scenes with Jackie Zeman. And the crap with Franco is just appalling.
Sorry, but Laura IS Carly. I’d rather see SJB back as Claudia if anything. But I don’t see a GH return for her, nor do I see Laura leaving a role that is rightfully her’s. She has portrayed it the longest and strongest.

How about this….since Felix thinks Sappy is all that and then some, why doesn’t he just marry her and help bring up her brat? That’s not to say that Brad can’t still be part of the picture: he can move in and play “manny” then they can all be the GH version of “Modern Family!” Seriously, no other guy (especially sweet Milo!) on that show deserves to be dragged down by Sobby….just look at how she ruined poor Patrick…it will only be the same thing all over again no matter who they pair her up with….she’s an absolute albatross! As I said before, even the slovenly Car-LOS! is looking too good for her at this point…

I’m ready for a good storyline for Sam and Carly! They have been such huge strong women and right now they are getting the shaft with their boring dumb stories…(I’m glad baby Danny is better!)
I just miss them and I miss the mob! Ava and Julian are great! Bring it on… Sonny is ready for a comeback! Now if Robin can come back, maybe we can tangle with Jason coming back this year! That would be great! His absence is so evident! Baby for Lulu- it’ll be fun to see how Britt plays that out and Nikolas can keep his shirt off!! Tracy and Luke can be a regular couple and let’s get rid of Felix and lab tech guy- they’re boring!

I am not looking forward to anything mob related, especially with Sonny Corinthos front and center.
I also think the show is missing a great story opportunity by reuniting Patrick and Robin. I think viewers, myself included naturally, would rather see Robin struggle to move on with her life than see Sabrina move forward without her prince charming. No matter how many scenes Sabrina is featured in, she is NOT central to the show. Robin is a heritage character who grew up on the show and deserves A-Line stories, especially after her resurrection. Sabrina, from her first appearance, was molded into a perfect heroine, in other words, a boring character without sufficient flaws for dramatic tension. It’s too bad because the show needs cultural diversity.
What am I looking forward to? How about more Cassadines? More Spencers? More hospital drama? I am all for that.

Sabrina is not key to the central show yet…but will be if her pregnancy story line plays out with Patrick as the father. I think he will go back with Sabrina and raise their baby together. Currently, I don’t think there are an “stable” couples on the show. Patrick and Sabrina have potential to be a couple of stability. To me, there should be at least one couple on the show that would be considered stable. Sabrina was having a sobering and maturing impact on Patrick before Robin came back.
Looks like there is another new actor in the younger set on General Hospital. Tristan Riggs is taking over the role of Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden.
Previously, Enzo De Angelis played the part of Liz and Lucky’s (formerly Jonathan Jackson) son since 2021. Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Riggs is now firmly in the part.
The switch happened on today’s Thursday May 2nd episode in scenes. Recently, Aiden came out as gay to him mom after admitting his interest in one of his classmates.

As Riggs begins in the part, it looks like Aiden is being bullied at school. Elizabeth is trying to get to the bottom of things and made an appointment with school counselors to find out what’s going on, after seeing his book bag had pink paint on it.
Riggs has been acting since he was 7-year-0ld and has appeared on the TV series Walker, True Lies and Best Foot Forward to name a few.

Juliet Donenfeld is the Temporary Recast as General Hospital’s Georgie

Those who saw the GH preview for today’s May 2nd episode were a bit confused when they saw a young actress sitting with Lois (Rena Sofer) and Violet (Jophielle Love). As it turns out, that young girl is a recast Georgie.
Juliet Donenfeld is stepping into the role temporarily replacing Lily Fisher. As viewers know, Georgie is the young daughter of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) named after Maxie’s sister, Georgie who passed away.
According to Soap Opera News, Fisher will be back soon in the part.
As for Donenfeld’s credits, she has appeared as JJ in the Netflix’s WWE series The Big Show Show, Better Call Saul, Good Girls, Station 19, and Sydney to the Max to name but a few.
In addition, Juliet became the youngest nominee for an Annie Award, gaining recognition for voicing the character of Sally Squirrel in the Animated TV/Broadcast Production of Pete the Cat.

Several stars from from daytime drama television past and present are scheduled to participate for an evening of stories of emotional on- and off-screen experiences with cancer, and moving tributes to beloved daytime favorites who lost their battle plus musical performances.
