Great one Moore thing jfp will take credit for. How sad!

I agree, Aria.

Let’s face it. The only reason “Young and the Restless” is an awards magnet is because “All My Children,” “As the World Turns” and “Guiding Light” are off the air.

Those shows were always winning the bulk of the Emmys. (no offense to “One Life to Live,” never an Emmy fave).

Wow you sound so negative. LOL. I have known Jill for over 20 years Aria. Young and the Restless cleaned house at the Daytime Emmy Awards. Jill is a hard worker and loves her job. You haters out there need to shut up and get a life. Jill has kept, y&r at number 1. Yes Jill has made mistakes, she is not perfect. But who is? We all make mistakes. Jill is sick and tired of the gossip, The negative gossip comes from soap sites twitter and people make up bs. I hope everyone reads this, this has to stop. Enough of the negative comments.

So what if you have known her for 20 years. Facts are facts. Things were better last year than they were under MAB’s reign but they are pitiful this year. IF JFP has a problem with long time FANS who have actually watched from Y&R from day 1 calling her out on the consistent downward slide of the soap she EPs, she is in the wrong business. Maybe she should focus her energy not being sick of it but rather doing something about it. You are not objective, as evidenced by you trying to pass off real people who are fans as people trying to make us BS. We love Y&R and we are tired of watching it being trashed by people who have no respect for it or us. Stop defending people who are ruining our soap.

And PS, maybe you should shut up and get a life Angela. This is a reputable soap site and this is an article for Y&R fans, not JFP brown nosers. If you are really her friend, you should be honest with her and try to help her. Long time Y&R fans are not going to take the trashing of this show quietly. We didn’t with Bill Bell Jr.’s wife. What makes you think we will with JFP if she also deserves it?

typo in my other post: “make us BS” should be “make up BS.”

“Oh, My God” from gods ears to Angela. “to every one less ” LOL

shake in my boots…. to the dowdiest wearing slip cover…. trash talking… disrespected…. “executve producer” give us all a break

Jill Pharen Phelps….. “Screw You”

“…Jill is sick and tired of the gossip,”

she’s resting HER accolades…. on 1 story… every person associated with that story is GONE…. aside from Victoria

every story on Y&R is uneventful

“what has to stop” is her exective decisions in letting go of…..

the now unheralded was #1 show

good luck this coming new emmy year potential for any thing newsworthy

I’d happily fan the flames… but the show is bigger than her

Right on Angela!
I’m tired of all the negativity!

Move on everyone!

angela, doesn’t mean anything that Y&r cleaned at the emmys, most critics not fans but critics said GH had a better year, yet the were not even nominated, how does something like that happen? plus the shows are only requiered to submit 2 episodes for consideration, if she wants to pat herself on the back for being able to find two worthy episodes then let her have at it, still i’m not really complaining here because thank goodness she no longer runs GH. and thats a blessing.

She should only care about what her friends and family think of her— and professionally what her bosses think of her work. It was George Clooney who said once when discussing how he handles fame– “You are never as good as they say you are and you are never as bad as they say you are” The negative comments are never going to stop– so she should learn to ignore them, which should be easy if she is as hard working as you say she is, she shouldn’t have time to read all the negative comments.

Congrats to the Young and the Restless, I am so happy that Amelia and Billy Miller won. They both deserve it. Jill Phelps still needs to be fired, she is a soap killer. I loved Kathy Griffin, she was so funny. Lol.

The awards were for last year’s Y&R and JFP thanked Josh Griffith as she should have. Unless there is a miracle or a mass-firing, I doubt Y&R will enjoy as much success with next year’s Emmys. Passante and Altman need to GO. If JFP is keeping them on, she needs to GO too.

CBS, despite dropping ATWT and GL, remains the broadcaster most committed to daytime. Maybe the Eye can see clearly now and accept the Daytime Emmys as a quality special presentation in primetime in 2015 and beyond. And hopefully do it better than the year the ceremony and show was little more than a commercial for Las Vegas tourism.

I challenge CBS to capitalize on its history and present accolades to create another soap opera for its daytime lineup. I believe there can be success with such a project.

Does this really have a whole lot of meaning, with only 4 soaps left on the air? I know, AMC and OLTL got to compete too, but . . .

No one remembers who won Emmys except maybe when susan lucci won so this doesn’t mean anything

Ironic that this has been their best awards year because it’s been their WORST year for quality and one of the worst for ratings.

I’m so disgusted that they won so many awards. CBS won’t care about the dwindling ratings or the disappointment of fans, they’ll keep Jill Farren Phelps and her hack writers around until it’s almost too late like ABC, mistakenly, did.

I wont take away from the acting awards, but Best Show?!?!?!? Best Writing?!?!?!?!

C’mon the writing has been God awful as has almost every episode Ive watched in the past few months.

Hit and miss on writing uneven

Go Y&R!!!!
I was very happy for their win!

YES Amen to you Derrick, I Agree with you. Amelia deserved to win, same with Billy Miller and Hunter king. ALL of them, are wonderful actors.

Hunter is good but kristien and kelly missal had her number

Not digging the new Billy at all, he looks scary and his lips are so thin it’s creepy.

The circumstances related to the firing of Michael Muhney (who never was given the chance to defend himself) angered many viewers. JFP has taken a lot of heat for firing one of the best, if not the best, actor on a daytime drama.

Now, the Daytime Emmys have been awarded and it looks like the voters banded together to back and protect JFP.

Hunter King – allegedly involved in the firing of MM – a winner.
Billy Miller – OK, a good actor, but not as brilliant as MM who was robbed again..
Y&R – best writing team – best at employing overused plot lines.
Y&R -best daytime drama – made abundantly clear that the industry supports JFP.

Amelia Heinle is a good actress but there are much better actress in the other 3 soaps, and that is a fact..
Billy Miller was the only one from Y&R deserving of the award, congrats to Billy Miller..
Y&R was not the best soap of the year, DOOL and GH both were much better..
But then again GH and DOOL did not hold the Emmy committee , to give them the win..

The Emmy committee was from CBS:
Angelica McDaniel CBS Vice President of daytime programming, Co-Chair
John C. Fisher, Producer The Young and the Restless, Co-Chair

(no ABC or CBS representing)

I’d bet the Emmy bill was paid for by CBS/Sony Japan 😉 LOL
what a load of CBS favoritism..

ooops meant NBC represented on committee ..

I’m tasting some sour apples…

And the reason Why It one so many Cause the team of writer’s Finally Listened to there fans 🙂
And the Actor’s And Actress They Hired work Well Together 🙂 And Team But Far Most A Familty .

Take the Bad Apples Out And Keep The Good In And there yea Have it 🙂
And I’m GLAD ASH is Comming Back To Kick Some Butt it’s About time lolol

TO The Y&R Team Take Another 14 DAY TIME Emmy’s next year As Well:)

What make’s me so proud of the Y&R Team they have it Alway’s Did 🙂 It’s the Story Lines need to Play Out and get The right team In to Carry Them off as they Did.

Please stop the madness this show is horrible!:(

Not deserved;GH got ROB on Daytime Drama! Another JFK conspiracy

The emmy show was as boring as the soap that won from what ive been reading…Days was ten times better…Coronation Street would beat them all in drama and acting categories if it was carried by one of our networks and nominated!!!

The general public confuses entertainment value for artistic value– the shows aren’t being judged for how entertaining they are to the public, these are industry awards to honor outstanding work. They don’t look at how entertained they were watching the reel, but how it was in crafted. And it is just a reel, not a year’s worth of work.

I am sure Y&R submitted scenes from the Delia’s death story line, which was real drama– well written, beautifully acted, it deserved the award. And that is why they killed off that character– to get a great Emmy reel. It was very well planned. A priest being drugged and raped, mobsters, gala balls, and vampires might be fun to watch, like the Hangover movies, but it ain’t Schindler’s List— last year Days won on the strength of Will coming out the closet– not for compelling drama of Daniel and Jennifer.

Your absolutely right…as for the Delia storyline i myself wrote somewhere(there goes my memory again…ugh!) that this is how the show won-it was well written and acted as you also said, and Billy Miller deserved his emmy…i shouldnt have said Days was ten times better because parts i like wouldnt be eligible til next year! I like GH but if the stories had more continuity and far less campy it might have gotten nominated for an emmy…

Story wise, DAYS has been cremating YawneR and continues to do so. So are GH and B&B!

Days won last year for the daysaster and their 45th amniversary episode.

@code are you certain? I mean considering their 45th anniversary was in 2010 and the Emmy they won in 2013 was for work done in 2012, I can’t see how they could have won for a show that aired two years before their Emmy win. Perhaps I was confusing the show with an acting reel, but I still think the Academy, which includes a lot gay people would have “rewarded” the show for the gay story line even if the reel about daysaster.

It’s no big deal to win an emmy for the work of one episode.

I would like it to be 12 episodes for each of the four soaps…1 per month.
There could be 12 sets of voters…each set of voters would view 1 episode of the 4 soaps and cast their vote. Add up all the votes and you have a winner based on the whole year!

If what I proposed would have already taken place, Y&R would not have won!

I wonder if you would have written the same suggestion last year when DAYS won on the merit of just one reel— please be careful and don’t choke on those sour grapes you are eating.

Yes, I’ve always thought the emmys were unfair in many ways.

That, just might be a brilliant idea

I know DAYS lost… should it have won? darn tootin

it has to be about a body of work…

12 months in a year
1 ep per month

voting is done each month and tabulated

after all is said and done…. I know DAYS is excellent
Y&R is sub par

with only 4 serials left….

i have to agree with some fans… the just delight in seeing Y&R knocked off it’s #1 perch… would be WIN WIN enough WINS

FAN WIN

some things gotta give

Let’s face it, when there’s less competition, the likelihood of you winning goes up. And when you have multiple nominees in each category from your show, the odds go up that much higher. The material submitted was strong, sure. But let’s call a spade a spade. They won a lot more because their chances were almost always 1 out of 4 or higher (sometimes much higher).

Looking at it the other way though, this is the first time in recent memory (10 years at least if not more??) a GHer never made it up to podium. To my point, there’s less competition, but GH couldn’t snag one. Is there a conspiracy or is GH just highly overrated. I know which side of the coin I believe….

hmmmm sounds a little fishy to me… I don’t want this show.. but heard so many bad things about it this last year …. not sure how they won so many awards.. just kind of tells all of us how subjective these award showes are and the winners are….. Just sayyinnnnnnn

& yet ratings down & stories suck, go figure #awardsmeaningless

I am thrilled for CBS and all the Y and R winners!

Where I am right now that storyline is being aired the death of Delia! Relax people she is here to stay get use to it ! Is Y&R the best soap NO JFP just knows how to pick the reels. What is an emmy ? A dust collector!!!!

Best actor is the only category they deserve an emmy along with the tribute emmy.

They just have to get Billy Miller back! Don’t they realize now it was wrong to let him go?

I assume the Emmy voters did not have a “none of the above” choice. Today’s Y&R is just a shell of its former self. Come on CBS/Sony, get rid of JFP before she kills the show, or is that their goal?!?!

Definitely more lows than highs for me on Y&R going back to when JG was head writer. I’ve been watching for almost 30 years and love the show but it did not deserve the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series this time.

Big deal. There’s only 4 soaps left. That’s hardly competition.

“And the award for EP in charge of the years worst story lines and mass exodus of some of Y&R’s best talent ever goes to Jill Farren Phillips”. “Come on up here and take what is unjustifiably yours and should have gone to GH”.

This is one of the greatest posts I’ve seen anywhere in a long time!

Timmm, you get a big round of applause from me! AMAZING, truthful post!

I don’t think Y&R deserves all of these win. They are not the best soap by far. Maybe the one ep they submitted was good, but it’s not sustained year-round.

Y&R was terrible the past year.. Nowhere near being the best soap..

but then;

The Emmy committee was from CBS:
Angelica McDaniel CBS Vice President of daytime programming, Co-Chair
John C. Fisher, Producer The Young and the Restless, Co-Chair

(no ABC or NBC representing)

I’d bet the Emmy bill was paid for by CBS/Sony Japan 😉
what a load of CBS favoritism..

get over it…………

Well Duh— that has been the way its been since the Daytime Emmy began. Every show wins based on ONE REEL– and if the show you liked had won, you wouldn’t have a problem with it. By your logic everyone who ever won an Emmy including those you like were technically not worthy of one because it wasn’t based on their whole year’s worth of work— Come on– in sports it doesn’t matter how many games you won throughout the year, the only game that matters is the championship game– you lose it or win it on ONE game– so please enough of this whining about it being unfair–

Based on the whole year, what was your favorite soap?

@4everDAYS—this might sound like a cop out but I honestly don’t have a favorite– I watch all four and each has their strength and their weaknesses — but if I were to be stranded on a island and told I could only watch one– I would have to pick Y&R, simply because it is the only soap that is character center– they tell stories about the human heart and condition– yes it has been done better in the past, and those stories are slower and not action packed, but over all I would still pick those type of stories to watch if I were force to choose- but luckily can enjoy all four and get something out of each–

if thr was emmy for best musical score y n r wouldnt even b nominated. they d have been nominated for best musical score by college interns for abc family teen programming and still lose. wat a bitch jfp was to fire the musical directors who made y n r s music so mezmerizing for decades and replace with pure shit, and then have the nerve to say y n r is now cool. yea cool like ur ugly haircut. im sorry the only way to deal with that bitch is to be rude. she just doesnt get hows shes turned y n r from a classic top soap to some hollywood heights garbage.

Fantastic, this is just proof that JFP will likely not be going anywhere anytime soon. How did Y&R win Best Drama and Best Writing?! Those awards should have gone to GH, but they were shutout for no explainable reason! Frank and Ron produced a much better show that JFP and Co. did, and that pains me to say because Y&R has been my favourite soap for a long time!

This past year Y&R has lost most of its top talent. Michelle Stafford, Billy Miller, Michael Muhney and Elizabeth Hendrickson are four great actors and actresses that Y&R has lost, and yet they still pull off this victory? Not to mention the writing, which has been slow-paced and boring at best!

I’m happy for Billy Miller winning the Lead Actor Emmy. His win should show JFP and the rest of Y&R brass that they made a HORRIBLE mistake to not negotiate further with BM and try to figure out a way to allow him to stay. Nothing against David Tom or Burgess Jenkins as actors, but Billy Miller was phenomenal in the role.

Y&R is not nearly as good as it could be under the leadership of JFP, and the writing team of Jean Passanante and Shelley Altman is subpar. These three ladies need to be let go, and Y&R needs both an on-screen and off-screen overhaul, like it did when Maria Arena Bell was fired.

If david tom wa not so good in role 1999-2002 and emmy winner they would carry on the character.

Shame on Michelle and Billy for leaving Y&R for other leads for prime shows, can’t wait for whatever(?), and go back to daytime, to General Hospital. Seems the actors and actresses that Y&R finds to create their ‘rolls’ for their show, have not got great instinct for hiring such great actors, but then they go behind their backs to another soap opera, to gain more control, to get what they want. The same girl that played “Chloe” left for the prime time. And, more power to her, because she is a great actress, period. But, I’m sure she would go back to Y&R, because she hated leaving the best thing that ever happened to her and the people.

I’ve seen this show from the very beginning. I will terribly miss Jeanne Cooper. No One could ever replace that woman. May she rest in peace! But I’ve been very upset with Y&R, because you get rid of the best actor/actresses ever. And, they go to another soap opera, to possibly add to their ‘lists’ of credentials. I would like to say to Billy Miller and Michelle, Y&R literally made you 2 both, on who you both are today. You are very much loved. Just make the best choices so, we, your fans can continue watching you every chance we can get. Good Luck in your endeavors!

Congratulations to Eileen Davidson! Eileen, you are daytime’s MVP. If they had an overall entertainer of the year, I think you should get it. When I watch Kristen, I get pulled into the insanity and forget that I’m watching an actress portraying a soap role. Eileen makes the psychotic yet vulnerable Kristen a flawed vixen I actually feel sorry for. Poor thing can’t successfully execute any of her evil plots, and I actually feel sorry for her because she tries so hard. Girl just wants some love. On the other side of the coin, when I watch Ashley, I see the strong, dignified beauty who has graced Y&R since 1982 (on and off). I’m thrilled to see her on both shows, and thank you, Eileen, for bringing your characters to life and into our homes everyday.

Also, congrats to Y&R. Y&R, you are daytime’s most successful drama ever when you combine Emmy’s and ratings dominance. Hard times have befallen this gem of a daytime titan the past few years. Let’s pray those who are wise and appreciate the rich history of the greatest daytime drama ever prevail and make right what’s been wrong and get this daytime juggernaut back on track.

Go Y&R. Happy and proud they’ve took the night @ the emmy’s but they have A LONG WAY TO GO IF THEY WANT TO STAY #1 !!!
Starting withJFP, the Adam recast, storyline upgrades and stopping of the changing characters! Congrats to eileen davis, amelia heinle and B Miller! Oh and H king, lol. If only she could carry herself that way she accepted her award in her role of summer… Cut the whiney, poor me, spoiled brat script!

I watch y&r and they did not deserve drama series or writing team. Hunter king is good actress but kelly missal was better in my opinion. Thanks for our Days stars snagin gold.

YR is and will always be my fav show, but I don’t think they deserved best writing for last year.

I would have given them the Emmy for direction instead.

Based on what was SUBMITTED, it does seem like YR would have won for best show. Was it the best last year? Probably not. But certainly better than GH for sure, which was NOT nominated for its Nurse’s Ball mess.

The cast and crew that won however was most deserving. They have the best cast on Daytime.

In my opinion BandB LOOKS the best overall, which is why they won the Creative Arts Emmy that they did.

Days needs to step up there production to play with the big two YR/BB, BUT they also deserved the acting Emmys they won.

Y&R has been one of my favorites too– the writing team submitted and won for the episode where Billy is waiting for the EMT and he has all those flash forwards of what Delia’s life might be. It was a well written show, and the Emmy is based on that, and that alone. As fans we both know the whole reason they killed that character was to get good Emmy reels out of it— so they won it fair and square–

if a chef enters a cooking contest he doesn’t have to enter all the recipes he ever made, which most could be awful, just the one he would like to judged, even if it is only good dish he can make. It is the same with writing whether prime time or daytime, writers just have to submit one script not all of them– this year Y&R picked the right script.

They deserve it for show they submitted otherwise they wouldn’t have won–only wish they gave the rest of stories and episodes they same amount of effort

Yeah, I wasn’t a big fan of the flash forward scenes.

Delia wasn’t a huge part of the show if most of us are honest, so there was no emotional pull that we would get from a more established character.

In any event, I’m glad for the show because they have gotten the shaft in previous years when they should have won Emmys “hands down”, and they were passed up.

Days Of Our Lives

Serena Scott Thomas to Days of our Lives, But What Role Will She Play?

Look who’s coming to Salem next? In a tease on their official Instagram account, Days of our Lives has revealed that Serena Scott Thomas has been on set and will debut in an upcoming role, leaving many fans guessing just who might she play.

The English actress and documentary producer has previously starred in Diana, Her Story as Diane Prince of Wales, Dr. Molly Warmflash in the James Bond  film The World Is Not Enough, and played the villainess ‘Watcher” in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and Bruce Willis’ wife in the film, Hostages among others.

Serena is the younger sister of Kristen Scott Thomas, best known for her Oscar-nominated role in The English Patient. Several DAYS fans are already weighing in that Serena will play Konstantine’s (John Kaeplos) wife.

Photo: DAYS IG

However, NannyKat 63 may have it all figured out the best, when she posted, that not only will “Serena play Kostantine’s wife,” but the character “had an affair with Victor Kiriakis and got pregnant.” Thus, making Xander (Paul Telfer) her son. She went on to theorize, “Perhaps, And John and Steve will find her in the nick of time… and she’ll enter in time to stop the wedding of Maggie to him. Xander will find out his true identity then. The baby was given to Victor’s brother to be raised in Scotland.”

Photo: JPI

Sounds plausible to us! Another guess came from donnamoore_23 who said, “Ya’ll think he could be Bobberette ‘s mom or sister or .. SOMETHING to do with his story .. someone who can back up what trauma he went through to be so sick? 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I think y’all are right could be Katerina.”

Photo: JPI

Two DAYS stars, Tamara Braun (Ava) and Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) also shared comments on Serena Scott Thomas’ upcoming appearance on DAYS. Godfrey simply said, “YES!!!! while Braun add her guess, expressing, “Ava’s mum. Oh wait, her mom was killed by her dad. Or was she? 🤔”

So, what do you think? What role will Serena Scott Thomas play on Days of our Lives? Share your theories in the comment section below.
