Dee Wallace Cast As General Hospital's Patricia Spencer!

Looks like we are going to get some major answers to the mystery surrounding what on earth has happened to the mind of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), with the arrival of the much-talked-about never-before-seen Spencer sibling, Patricia!

Pat, as she has also been called on-screen, has been cast and the role is being played by veteran actress Dee Wallace, according to the news via Soap Opera Digest!

The actress is the eldest sibling of the Spencer clan which includes Luke, and Bobbie (Jackie Zeman).  No word on the first airdate for Wallace’s Pat, but since her character probably holds the key to what happened to Luke in the Spencer house on Elm Street, or what happened between the Spencer family the caused his emotional split, she should be on the scene sooner than later.

A rep for Dee Wallace related to On-Air On-Soaps that the actress passed this along on her GH experience:  “I have never had a greater challenge, never had more fun and never felt so much a part of a family on a set.  You do more in one day on Daytime than you do in a week on an episodic.  I couldn’t have more respect for colleagues than I do now.”

Dee is most remembered for her role in the beloved motion picture E.T. and in the movie Cujo. Wallace’s last husband Christopher Stone appeared as Bill Horton on Days of our Lives for a time in the late 80’s and early 90’s.  All and all the accomplished Wallace has appeared in over 90 feature films and 100 films.

So, what do you think of the casting of Dee Wallace at Pat Spencer?  What do you think Pat will have to say when she is on the scene that will reveal insight into the Spencer family past? Share your thoughts below!

Well at least Luke isn’t Patrica thank God for that– I think Dee will be great in the role, and she certainly has the hair style to be Luke’s sister– LOL. Looking forward to finally finding out what happened to poor Luke in that basement, and how long Fluke has been in the picture. And it is always nice to hear a respected actress who has never done daytime, recognize how hard working soap actors are and give them their due.

OH god, that would have been awful and hilarious at the same time–if Geary had been triple-cast as Patricia! But Dee Wallace is excellent casting. Look forward to her in the new role.

“at least Luke isn’t Patricia” Yes, we dodged a bullet there..

lol. I was thinking the same thing.

At first i thought Luke ate Patricia…lol…i thought Helene would be Patricia but a fake Helene under mind control…then i thought Tony Geary would be Patricia…lol…..here is the story: Patricia is mad and still thinks its 1959…she too is in a mental hospital…her hair is I Love Lucy red and pulled back in a 1950s ponytail, wears black pointy glasses, a grey sweater with the letter P embroided on it, white sweater, teal green poodle skirt and bobby socks…there is a Ricky Nelson poster on her wall and The Great Pretender plays on her RCA victrola…bed is covered with stuffed toy poodles…Pat tells Tracy about the Spensers Nightmare On Elm Street with their abusive father Tim(played in flashback by Robert Englund) who used his razor sharp fingernails to abuse his family…the house had an upside down cross, an army of flies attacking a priest there to bless the house and a demonic voice harhsly whispering for them to ‘GET OUT’! Little Luke(played by Spenser) killed their father with a crowbar after he physically assaulted Pat(played by Kiki)…Aunt Ruby(played by Carly Jacks) buried the father in the basement-the floor was dirt at the time and later covered with cement…Ruby took the kids to Florida but Pat ran away and eventually became a flower child involved with hippies and the 1960s drug scene…a few years ago, Pat suffered a severe nervous breakdown and has been hospitalized ever since ABC cancelled ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life To Live’…lol

I forgot Emma as young Bobbie and i meant white blouse, not sweater…lol

Oh, my gosh, jimh. I like it, I love it. I am only familiar with a little bit of backstory.
Won’t Dee Wallace as Pat be surprised to find Luke with CUJO characteristics? Perhaps it will take Pat to tame the beast.

What if the Spensers father is also alive…i believe Tim changed his name, moved to Vegas, remarried and started another family…He and his other son from his second marriage, Rick, opened up a pawn shop and their life became a reality series…Luke’s father is the ‘Old Man’ from tv’s ‘Pawn Stars’ and Rick Harrison is the younger half brother of Patricia, Luke and Bobbi…now some will say ‘Old Man’ is in his 70s and too young to be the Spenser’s father but i believe he lies about his age and is really 90…lol

Well, he did chomp off part of Scott Baldwin’s ear…

@Iris.
Lol, Iris. What was that? A cross between Hannibal Lecter and Mike Tyson?

Your minds has been in overdrive. At least you’ve added some dark humor to the never ending Fluke story. Why doesn’t anyone mention Luke and Bobbie’s mother? I have to think they had one.

Their mother died of a burst appendix and then their father ran away…

As long as “Sweet Dee” aka, Patricia, doesn’t turn out to be a vindictive, bitter man-hating shrew who was one of those bra-burning radical chicks who emerged from the drug-induced, hippy haze of the 1960’s with a huge chip on her shoulder, jimh! I really hate when that happens! LOL….

But i would love her to be one of those…lol

Well, if that works for you, jimh, than by all means….LOL!

Jim, you’re hysterical!

you either need less caffeine …. or more ketchup!

bwahahahhahaha

I wish theyd put caffeine in my ketchup…lol

ANYTHING to put this story to rest.

I really, really wanted Erika Slezak, but Dee Wallace Stone is talented. If she delivered within the contraints of daytime (one take, etc.) we should be in good hands.

I agree, I would have loved Erika in the role but I think Dee Wallace is an amazing actress and she will be powerful in the role. Anyone who have seen Howling would know she can do emotional breakdown like no other!

It sure would have been great!! do we think it’s going to be full time? if not ES should have done it. come to LA to tape scenes. unless she did not want to. wish she did!!

It is a short term role, from what I understand Dee Wallace already shot her scenes. we should see her first appearance SPOILER ALERT!!! March 20th providing there is no breaking news coverage. I am impressed that they were able to keep the casting secret, so closely se to her first appearance.

would want Erika to be long term.

did you ever see the ABC “what if” series of promo videos. They had one of Vicki meeting Luke.

I read in past comings and goings that GH is bringing back past Port Charles residents or characters. I think the character of Dee Wallace it is someone we are all very familiar with from the earlier days of GH. In Friday’s episode you saw the shocked look on LuLu’s and Tracy’s faces when they saw Patricia in the bed.
Could it be Laura? or Leslie? Maybe Laura had an affair with Edward Q’s son and left Port Charles. Wasn’t Laura adopted?

If Continni really wanted to do a tongue in cheek casting they should have cast Erika Slezak as the older sibling as her character on OLTL dealt with DID and she is a 5 time Emmy winner to go toe to toe with Geary.

which would have been a great idea… to help AG end this story….

I feel the story concluded with Fluke and Bobbi, when she visited him in jail.

it now all falls on AG to carry to the end a lot of emotional rendering

i wasn’t impressed after Bobbi left.. and we were left to watch Luke “realizing” that something is truly wrong with him

hello, thank u nobody does D.I.D like ES . Her and AG would be Great wonder what Ron and Frank Problem is
do they have amnesia or bran tumor they have forgotten ES

I agree nobody does D.I.D. better than ES. Shame on FV and RC for not casting her in the role. I really miss her and OLTL.

Amazing call. You win again, GH casting department…

Nothing against Dee Wallace, I have liked her in what I have seen her do – but to me it is really inept of them to have hired someone younger than Tony Geary to play Luke’s sister who is ten years older than he is.

This production team seems to go out of its way to always defer to the wrong, or careless, or disrespectful choice whenever they have the chance to do so.

Great. Now bring back Genie Francis as Laura for all kinds of reasons. Thank you.

Laura has to go all the way to Europe to be treated for mental illness yet all of PCs other crazies including her way more disturbed exLuke can get treated right in Port Charles never made any sense to me…jmo

Hey, jimh….Maybe that’s because Laura is the only one who well and truly wants to be treated for her mental ails. Let’s face it, the facilities in the Port Charles vicinity certainly don’t have a very impressive “cure” rate….on the contrary, it would seem the inmates are running all of the asylums!

That is so true.

so agree! she does not HAVE TO be overly involved in Luke’s (TG) life!!

hear hear!!!

Anyone going to Genie’s event this weekend on the east coast?

It seems as though the writers are planning on doing a very serious storyline-which I would prefer over the dead corpses, people returning from the dead, and people wearing masks. I haven’t watched in a week. Honestly, I can’t take Carly in court-on Sonny’s side (once again), even though Michael is a jerk, ignoring all that Sonny has done to her, her children, and everyone he claims to love. Mind you, I used to be a Sonny fan (loved, loved, loved Sonny and Brenda in the 90’s).

Oh, I do agree, dmr. It just boggles the mind how a mother would repudiate her own son for the sake of a man. It is very unnatural, in my opinion. Considering the fragile state of affairs between Carly and Michael, one would think she not choose sides….Michael is her child. There is no stronger bond. I just can’t come to grips with the lack of maternal pull that Caly is manifesting.
Sonny does not deserve such devotion. She is acting in a very foolish manner …over a mobster? Abandoning every motherly instinct due a son? Go figure.

Hey, CeeCee Girl! She’s just bein’ Carly!!! No matter the man in question, this woman simply cannot help but put her libido over her children….especially when it’s “Slick Sonny”….he must send out very strong pheromones! LOL. And yet, Ms. Jacks marches around town carrying her smug, self-appointed title as “Mother of Year!” Nothing new here….Having said that, at least she looked absolutely smashing in her understated courtroom attire…loved, loved that black coat, although not real enamored of the two-toned hairdo!

I would have agreed with you, however, Tony Geary doing a poor impersonation of Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal the Cannibal yesterday gives me great pause.
Dee Wallace is just fine. However, why oh why do they not fish out of the deep and fruitful waters which have notable and talented soap veterans swimming around aimlessly?
Erika Slezak was the obvious choice for the role of Patricia. This is all too disappointing.

I think that may have been just the point, Osgood! ES was THE obvious choice….perhaps, TOO obvious! And not knowing what sort of person this Patricia is intended to be, maybe Ms. Slezak was not the best one for this particular role, even if she may have been the favorite choice of the fans.

What a great casting…Dee has been cast in some of most twisted, darkest movies of all time… she is certain to be a great fit for this presumed deep dark character!

As I highly doubt they are going to find her as a Suzie Homemaker from …can’t wait to see her in action! Open up the vault of Spencer Secrets!

I hope she has a dog named Cujo…lol

Well, given DW’s acting experience with the “twisted and darkest,” Port Charles is the perfect place for her these days, Elite Advisors! She’ll fit right in!!!!

I was dying for them to have Pat really be Helena. And that’s why she has the vendetta against Luke and his whole family because she was cast out and left with nothing. It would haveade for some incest in the past. But DAMN if that wouldn’t have been juicy has hell to watch play out.

aaaha!
I do so luv RC !!
I have fun and laughs when I pick up on his zany humor..
OK= my laugh of the day’
The Spencer house of their childhood horrors is— on Elm Street !!!
lol on Elm Street!! LOL!!!

I have been waiting for Patricia to come and casting Dee Wallace at Pat Spencer is awesome!!!
I am excited for – this part – part 2 the ending of Luke’s story..
A journey way way back in time of Luke, Bobby and Pat!
I haven’t a clue which way it will go, but I do know the acting and the depth of it will be spectacular!
Looking forward to going back to Elm Street !!

You’re right, Su. I think RC is using humor. Not only is he employing the house of horrors on the so-famous/infamous Elm street, but also the fact that Dee Wallace was the mother on both CUJO and ET.

I agree, his work is superb.

I am happy to learn that Ron and Tony Geary are having a grand ole time. That’s very important to me.

Great for Dee, but I was really hoping Erika Slezak ould have been cast. Would make so much sense. Maybe she wasn’t available? Michael, can you find out what happened here?

Agreed. And the funny thing is Dee Wallace looks so much like Erika in the above picture.

Love this casting news, can’t wait for Patricia to arrive in Port Charles. It always made me curious why Luke and Bobbie’s sister was never brought on to the show, but this is definitely the right time to make that happen. Looking forward to seeing Dee, and for this storyline to wrap up. Knowing Cartini, it should be good!

I love Dee Wallace and haven’t seen her in anything for a long time. I am looking forward to her GH stint. Erika Slezak would have been great, but she is so identified with DID I am glad they went with someone else.

LETS JUST GET THIS LONG DRAGGED OUT STORY OVER WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to Port Charles Dee Wallace. I can’t wait to see Patricia Spencer on my screen.

Thank gawd! I was worried for a bit that Helena would turn out to be Pat.

loved Dee Wallace Stone in the werewolf flick, The Howling!

happy to read she’s joining GH!

I think we’re in for a treat, Mary Ellen. It seems that RC has a taste for the macabre sprinkled with humor.

Have been a fan of Dee’s for a long time. Great for her and us!!

This is good news. Dee is a good actress and she really looks like a cross between Luke and Bobby!

I loved DW in the original ‘The Hills Have Eyes’!

A bit underwhelming compared to a guest star like Donna Mills but if she was cast, I’m sure it was based on her audition so that’s a good thing. With the exception of the new Sloane the GH casting department can basically do no wrong. The new Kiki was one of the best recasts in a while.

Totally agree with you about the recast for Kiki.

Was hoping for Kathleen Noone to play Patricia…

That would have been an excellent choice, Alan!

Im suprised tptb didnt try to get Betty White to play Pat…i know she is 90plus but with all the references to The Golden Girls in the past this wouldve been a ‘Golden Girl’ oportunity to give a nod to that show!!!

I agree . I used to watch that silly, sick, strange soap called PASSIONS? I was actually still in school ….what a blast my co-eds and I would have. She, among many others was really off the wall. Remember the simian? The diapers?
Actually, Juliet Mills would have been another great choice…..hmmm, Shay, which reminds me. She is 22 years older than her husband. I guess I must take back what I said. Lo and behold! This marriage lasted, regardless of her advanced age. Later, girl.

That’s one trainwreck of a soap I never watched, CeeCee, although I’m well -aware of the inspired insanity that was “Passions!” In fact, I sometimes think that Ron. C. is channeling James Reilly’s special sort of crazy with some of the twisted stuff he comes up with for GH. As for Juliet Mills and her hubby, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I first discovered she wed boytoy Maxwell Caulfield of The Colbys, that’s how gobsmacked I was. My only explanation was that maybe he had a lifelong obsession with “Nanny and the Professor!” LOL….

WOW! None would have been great. It’s a shame that we can come up with so many excellent actresses of a certain age who are currently unemployed.

I meant Noone.

OH jeez!

Kathleen Noone would have bar none usurped eclipsed and solidified that quickly

does any one remember Ross Chandler… whom she married.. played by hottie Robert Gentry

Ross Chandler…the son of Pete Cooney/Palmer Cortlandt and Lottie Chandler, who married Ellen Dalton and adopted Julie who turned out to be Ellen’s ex-husband Mark Dalton’s biological daughter and who later saw Ross rape Natalie Marlowe Hunter who had married his father Palmer.

RC and FV miss the boat big time, they should of cast Erika Slezak, its so obvious. is Erika Slezak retired? did she turn the role down? cause she lives in NY? what gives?

Who knows but the lawsuit brought by Prospect Park is still unresolved so they may be under orders not to hire anyone who had a contract with them.

well it’s GH loss I would so watch that AG is doing a great job , if u added ES to the story somehow holy Sh!!

E.T. was one of my favorite movies as a kid growing up in the 80s. I watched it so many times that I broke the VHS tape, which was a sad day, lol. I remember Dee Wallace not only from E.T. but Cujo, The Howling, The Hills Have Eyes, and all the TV guest appearances she’s done. This is a great casting by GH.

After hearing the name mentioned so many times in recent months, I’m very interested to finally see a face and voice put to the name Patricia Spencer. And to see what the next chapter of this story will be. I think Dee will fit in perfectly and do a nice job.

Not only is it a great casting, Dan, but also the wit behind the casting. All the movies you mentioned share similar SyFy/metaphysical/supernatural, and a bit of “crazy” thrown in for good measure. What irony !!!! DW certainly fits right in with ease into THE TWILIGHT ZONE that is Fluke.

Its a breath of fresh air to know that none of us complained about another newbie or stunt casting for a change…Dee is getting a warm welcome…lol

@jimh…and CeeCee, too! Perhaps that’s because for once, this ISN’T stunt casting. While we were all fixated on DW’s past movie roles, and having fun with it, there was another hidden facet to this lady’s talents found in her motivational speaking, self-help books and radio show hosting. Apparently, she had her own childhood demons to overcome, and this led to her “other” career….very interesting case of art imitating life here in the casting choice?

The caliber of acting talent present on General Hospital is unparalleled in daytime (and a sizable portion of primetime, too). Dee Wallace, a longtime favorite of mine, further adds to this embarrassment of riches. I’m looking forward to seeing her light up the screen.

On a related note, it was a pure delight watching Emmy winners Anthony Geary, Michelle Stafford, and Roger Howarth share scenes together this week. The chemistry present among these three outstanding actors was palpable. I hope we get to see much more of them on-screen together in the episodes to come.

Dee will fit right in, because Luke has been acting like an ‘ET’ lately .. get ready folks for all the ET references that are going to ABOUND in this storyline, because that’s just the way RC rolls. A little bit of inside humor is fun, but RC doesn’t know when to quit, and it makes me quite nauseous when I compare today’s GH with the GH I grew up with in the ’80s. I really cared about the characters back then, they were REAL.

Please–there were some terrific characters, but “real”–the ice princess? the aztec jewels, Casey the alien?
GH has, since Gloria Monty been a mix of adventure (that has hit its most charicatured with sonny and the mob), camp and fantasy, and some heart wrenching drama. It always stretched reality far more than AMC, and mostly more than OLTL (although…eterna, the wild west…).

The 80s were no more real than today. AJ’s trying to connect with Michael was real, Robin’s coming back (initially) was real, Luke’s struggling with his DID has the potential to be very powerful (as will the exploring the spencer childhood rather than glossing over why Bobbie became the hooker with the heart of gold and Luke had it in him to be a rapist).

This is what we’ve got–object to stupid plots (pickle lila), celebrate that actresses of a certain age are given great roles, keep your fingers crossed that some quite good child actors will be allowed to grow into their roles like Robin and Lucky did, marvel in Rebecca hearst’s complexion, tolerate that there have to be plot lines for each generation, and accept that there is a sizeable portion of GH’s audience that likes the humor just as there are those that like the mob. At least we have a complex range of reactions to the Sonny/Carly/Julian/Duke mob hypocracy rather than having the crooks simply seen as villians (and there are some consequences for their actions in their day to day lives).

Certainly there are plots that provide time to do some chores (I pretty much have to FF anytime Carly is on–with the exception of having the sense to send Morgan away while he was Sorased (as opposed to being in a coma like Michael), she is the worst mother of all time! (she doesnt’ even have consistent help to be a surrogate parent for Joceylyn like Anna did with Robin when she was little and Elizabeth has with the off screen Audrey). But I get that there are people who like Sonny and Carly’s dynamic and put up with that for the characters that matter to me.

meant to say the crooks seen as heroes

I’m not talking about plots, I’m talking about characters, families, friendships, LOVE stories that made us SWOON. I can forgive a lot of dumb plotlines if I care what happens to the characters. Maybe it’s the way RC edits the scenes .. little short cuts here and there, doesn’t really give me enough time to get emotionally invested. But in my view, there’s very little interaction with families, like they had in the old days .. take Frisco&Tony Jones, for example. That was a very believable and heartfelt brother relationship, and they stood by each other through thick and thin. We cared. But what does Maxie have? Her sister has been killed off. Her dad’s offscreen indefinitely. We rarely see Felicia or Mac. I realize there are fans who don’t care about that stuff, they just want to see the mobsters have a shootout, and hear Franco make some funny cultural references. But I’ll bet there are far more fans (especially women) who would rather see the kind of thing I’m talkin’ about.

I wonder if Patricia will ‘Phone Home’…lol…yeah, the 80s were GHs golden years…Days was at its best in the 70s when Bill Bell wrote it and the 80s revamped Days was its second best decade…now its Dull Of Our Lives and too much with Daniel on too often and
Eve/JJ but loved the return of fiesty Jen in those Jen/Eve confrontation scenes!!!…see ya!!!

My mom was a huge fan of DAYS in the 70s, Doug, Julie and Addie! What a storyline. Resulting in Hope, and her classic romance with Bo. LOTS of classic romances in DAYS history, what happened to the emphasis on romance?! Instead we get Eric&Serena, Ben&Abby, EJ&Eve! Dull of Our Lives is right! Except last week, you are right, Jen jumping into that bed and trying to smother Eve – soapy goodness!

My late mother was a big fan of Days in the 70s too…i watched with her since it began in 1965 and briefly quit during the 1980 revamp and firings of so many favorites…picked it up again in the early 80s…i even skipped school sometimes just to watch…now i skip episodes…it was romantic when Doug sang ‘The most beautiful girl in the world’ for his beloved Julie…the romance and interaction of family is rare in daytime today and the reason so many no longer watch imho…loved Addie, Doug and Julies storyline…Doug and Julie remain my favorite couple!!!

My condolences on the loss of your mother, jimh .. DAYS is something my mom and I have always shared, too, so I know the show must be a comfort to you and you’d hate to see it canceled. I feel the same way. I remember Doug singing that song to Julie, so romantic! (it’s also in the movie “Jumbo” with Doris Day, an oldie but goodie). Do you remember the little French friend of Doug’s who sang “You make me feel so young” to his sweetheart? SO touching! I wish we could find those scenes on Youtube, alas, that was before VCRs! I have a real soft spot for Doug and Julie, too. So glad they returned last Christmas, that was one of the few episodes I watched in the past few months.

You are so right, maddiehayes! What critics of the ’80’s GH forget is that interwoven with the outrageous adventures and larger-than-life supervillains were real, down-to-earth characters with stories and relationships, as well. The large majority of the cast had actual histories, deep roots in Port Charles, and family and friends that fit-in and like you say, interacted….nearly everyone knew everybody else and it really was like one big party. (There was even music!) Now you have uninspired newbies introduced willy-nilly, often for no seeming purpose other than to amuse the show runners, and with no true connections to the canvas, sometimes even years after their debut, and their presence makes absolutely no sense. Add that to the choppy, often directionless, nonsensical plots that never seem to reach a satisfying conclusion, and you have a show that is far less enjoyable than in previous decades.

As usual, Shay, we agree 😉

I hear what you’re saying, Maddie. Relationships. Friendships. Great love stories…I miss the days on GH when the characters popped into each other’s homes, met at Ruby’s…loved when there was always something going on at Bobby’s brownstone…the friendship between Robert, Anna, Sean Tiffany…but, that’s the past. Possibly due to budget. It seems they have fewer major players on in the same day…and group events like weddings, funerals, Felicia’s mayoral headquarters, the Nurses Ball…are crowded with background extras. I notice the absence of ” community” all the time on GH. For now, since it’s what we’ve got…I’ve adapted to the “new normal” and watch/ enjoy it for what it is. No choice but to stop watching and I’m not at the point where I’d want to…

I would never quit watching altogether, but occasionally I’ll get fed up and take a break for a few months. Especially if I’ve just spent some time watching old episodes, LOL. 😉

Ohnooooo! Maddie…lol…keep your channel on even if you’re not watching…the end of the daytime genre is nigh…we need ratings! 🙂

Robert LeClair was Dougs French friend who also performed at Dougs Place…yes, i remember him along with the Peters family, The Andersons, The Grants…plus Linda, Kim(Dougs first wife, not the Brady) Brooke, Marlenas twin Samantha, Don Craig and his daughter Donna…and so many more…back in the 70s the actors and stories were so great there was rarely anything about it that i disliked including the character…it was perfect!!!

Hi jimh!

In the mid 1980’s, Robert LeClair gained a brother named Eli Jacobs who was the father of Dr. Robin Jacobs…the woman Dr. Mike Horton was seeing until their interfaith relationship proved too difficult. Do you remember?

Let’s just hope this Fluke storyline morphs into something interesting…after a year of drawn-out pointless krap.

None of the Luke/Fluke story has been pointless.. it was and is a back trip into Lukes life, what made Luke become Fluke..
A trip back in time to Lukes beginning / The Spencer family ..

IF, again IF Tony is going to leave GH/retire a story taking him back to childhood and bringing his long lost sister Patricia back is very befitting to Luke’s finial ..

I’m glad that they are not bringing in someone with a past with ABC soaps. If the Prospect Park mess ever gets cleared up I can see Frank and Ron continuing to make creative use of the entire ABC universe (as they have with Delia and the references to Loving/The City). It would be nice to keep those characters alive and out there (including Erika Slezak/Vicki) for future drop ins to Port Charles. I think we have to accept that those other shows in their original formats are gone but that there may be a way for spin offs, web mini series and intersections with the GH world.

We just want ES not OLTL it ‘s gone But ES is not , she would fit nicely in this storyline that it plan in simple . but i see where u are coming from and respect that.

Great casting! Wallace is an accomplished actress and should play well off Geary and Zeman. I’m thinking that Tim Spencer didn’t abandon his family– either Luke killed him and Pat covered it up or vice versa. Maybe some abuse going on. In the description I read, Pat was supposed to be about 10 years older, so maybe a different father?

I would like to see an ongoing frontburner Spencer family story. And how nice to see older actors receiving focus. I hope Dee Wallace’s addition to the cast is not a flash in the pan. Maybe this could be the beginning of a move away from some of the craziness.

Hey, Shay, Shay…glad to hear from you.
Lol …but, I’d probably be more attracted by an insect’s secretions of pheromones.
A mother is always there for her child, period. No questions asked. If I were she, I would move heaven and earth to re-connect with Michael.

I, too, noticed Carly’s apparel. I do admire her wardrobe. She has style…I also liked her hairstyle…simple, yet attractive; perfect for a courtroom setting. She does look great in black…most blondes do.

CeeCee Hi !! 🙂
Carly his mother has begged and stood by Michael and tried to help him and he put her out and isn’t letting her back in..
Now he will have to find his own way back, he is grown man no longer a child and Michael has to act like a man not a spoiled kid getting even lol
Michael is head/controls ELQ he needs to control his life, too ..

Michael needs a good old fashioned spanking, if his azz is as strong as head he will not be harmed lol ..

Hi, Su. Long time no talk….let’s just agree to disagree. ….still like you s lot, and I do value your opinion. Here’s mine.
One thing has nothing to do with the other. She screwed up by not being honest with Michael. Carly can recite her inculpability left and right, up and down, it still does not change the facts. She did not retain the information surrounding AJ’s murder for her son’s sake, but for Sonny.
Perhaps this happens in reality, but even a fictitious character, such as Carly, should fess up. It makes no difference that Michael is a grown man….should a mother love her child less as he/she grows to adulthood and beyond? That is absurd, right? I have five siblings, and my mother checks on each one of us every day. Why? …..because we take presedence over everything and everyone.
Michael does not need to find his way back. He is not lost. Carly is. She vacillates between this man and that. She has no idea who she is. One would think that after the obscenities and atrocities done to her and her children by Sonny, she would see the error of her ways and embrace that realization. We all make mistakes…except, Carly does not learn from said mistakes.
Instead, she chooses to seek her next “Sonny fix”…. Question is? For how long? Until the next bad boy shows up? In the span of a year, Carly went from Sonny to AJ to Julian to Franco to Sonny….not necessarily in that order. Did I miss anyone? Joss, must be so confused. No wonder her dialogue is so grown-up. She learns from the best.
As I said, no matter what the circumstances, Carly should get her priorities straight. She is the one that did Michael wrong. She can never get her son back as the person he used to be. Both she and Sonny have changed his comportment toward them and his outlook on life.
By holding Sonny’s hand, she has completely severed any hope of a reconciliation with her son.
I would hope that every mother out there who loves her children feels the same way.
There is no comparison between my love for my kids and the love for my husband. I choose my kids……no contest. I can only speak for myself, I guess. Later, girl.

Right back at ya, CeeCee!!! As you well know, “L’Air du Corinthos” would not prove irresistible as an aphrodisiac “pour moi” either. But each to their own! Carly has always been a real piece of work as a maternal figure….she professes to be a devoted mother, but her offspring often come in a very distant second to her “amours du jour.” Not only has she abrogated her duty to her first born son in favor of her favorite wiseguy, but there’s nary even a word about Josslyn these days….unless it references her “Children of the Corn” obsession. (Me thinks she’s a little psychopath lying in wait—just biding her time—to be unleashed!) And yet, Ms. Jacks certainly jumped into matriarchal mode “tout suite” when it came to caring for Sonny’s latest addition. Having said that, yes, I also appreciate many of Carly’s sartorial “choices.” The more classic and basic in style, the better….awhile back she wore an azure silk blouse that looked absolutely spectacular with her coloring!

I am probably the only one on the planet who feels this way, but both Sonny and Carly make me want to barf. I wish the first actress, way back in the 80s, I believe, would come back and play Carly. And I wish a casting agent would teach Sonny to articulate and not talk from the side of his mouth. I don’t agree with Michael using that adorable little baby to get back at Sonny, but I am all for someone standing up to him and having their own backbone.

I would have loved to have seen Liz Hubbard take on this role she brings the best out of everybody but I understand she has retired. Dee will do fine she is not a scenery chewer so that is a plus!!!

wasnt she ralphies mom in A christmas story?

you’ll shoot your eye out!…

great casting.

No, mgb357, that was actually Melinda Dillon, who also played a number of great mom roles in 1980’s flicks. I know this because I had the video of the movie and watched it repeatedly! MD played a similar role in “Harry and the Hendersons,” too, not to mention “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

my bad – sorry – both are great actresses.

Not at all, mgb357! That was a perfectly understandable mix-up…not only is there a strong physical resemblance between the two actresses, but the similarities in their maternal roles and acting styles are also quite remarkable.

I think Erika Slezak would have been a better choice , we all know the lady has talent and Ron knows that he could say enough good things about her during al those years on OLTL , so what gives..Does he just what big names well i haven’t about Dee in along time she was in the christmas story , the howling and cujo all in the 80’s so . ES still a better choice .

I agree with you. Erika Slezak would also have been perfect — more gusto!

Erica Slezak may have wanted too much money. Also, Erica will always be associated with the iconic role of Vicki on OLTL.

Aesthetically speaking, Dee Wallace is a great choice and it will be interesting to see her in this role because I have always seen her in “good girl” roles, being very kind and sensitive. However, I would have loved to see Susan Lucci in this role.

There would be one problem. Susan Lucci is forever associated with Erica Kane.

Yes, you are correct. When I really ponder this, all I can see is “Erica Kane.”

Has anyone considered the return of Laura (Genie Frances) to bring Luke Spencer out of his mental insanity? I noticed how he went off when Scott Baldwin said he was going to tell Laura all that was happening. I think Pat Spencer should show up, and have her arrival as the catalyst to his mental breakdown, and have Laura show up and then Luke has a positive breakthrough.

Dee Wallace was perfectly cast as Patricia! I just loved her in the role and she fit right in with the Spencer crew. Alas, she wasn’t a very healthy person though, was she…..

Tristan Riggs is General Hospital’s New Aiden

Looks like there is another new actor in the younger set on General Hospital. Tristan Riggs is taking over the role of Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Aiden.

Previously, Enzo De Angelis played the part of Liz and Lucky’s (formerly Jonathan Jackson) son since 2021. Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Riggs is now firmly in the part.

The switch happened on today’s Thursday May 2nd episode in scenes. Recently, Aiden came out as gay to him mom after admitting his interest in one of his classmates.

As Riggs begins in the part, it looks like Aiden is being bullied at school. Elizabeth is trying to get to the bottom of things and made an appointment with school counselors to find out what’s going on, after seeing his book bag had pink paint on it.

Riggs has been acting since he was 7-year-0ld and has appeared on the TV series Walker, True Lies and Best Foot Forward to name a few.

So, what do you think of Tristan Riggs as the new Aiden? Do you hope Aiden’s story becomes more front and center? Comment below.

Juliet Donenfeld is the Temporary Recast as General Hospital’s Georgie

Those who saw the GH preview for today’s May 2nd episode were a bit confused when they saw a young actress sitting with Lois (Rena Sofer) and Violet (Jophielle Love). As it turns out, that young girl is a recast Georgie.

Juliet Donenfeld is stepping into the role temporarily replacing Lily Fisher. As viewers know, Georgie is the young daughter of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) named after Maxie’s sister, Georgie who passed away.

According to Soap Opera News, Fisher will be back soon in the part.

As for Donenfeld’s credits, she has appeared as JJ in the Netflix’s WWE series The Big Show Show,  Better Call Saul, Good Girls, Station 19, and Sydney to the Max to name but a few.

In addition, Juliet became the youngest nominee for an Annie Award, gaining recognition for voicing the character of Sally Squirrel in the Animated TV/Broadcast Production of Pete the Cat.

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
