The Young and the Restless stalwart, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) was back visting The Talk on this past Friday’s episode on the CBS afternoon series.
Joshua previewed the upcoming turmoil that his character Nick Newman will have in relation to his daughter Summer’s (Hunter King) choice of men, namely Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva). Nick already warned Summer the guy was no good. She insisted to her dad that she loved the guy, and that Nick should trust her gut. But, Nick’s gut is telling him just the opposite.
However on The Talk, Morrow revealed the context of the upcoming showdown of the situation: “Ultimately, I do decide to trust my daughter’s gut, and let her form her own conclusion’s about Luca. But in the next few weeks you will see that plan backfires in a major, major way, and I (Nick) do everything I can do get him (Luca) out of my daughter’s life.
Watch Joshua on The Talk discussing the Summer/Luca “bad romance” after the jump. Then let us know, do you hope Nick rids Luca from Summer’s life? Do you think Summer and Luca are still going to end up together, when all is said and done? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
Hunter King got upped to a series regular on CBS’s “Life in Pieces” so she’s either leaving or her appearances on Y&R will be cut back dramatically. Same for Justin Hartley as he starts filming his NBC series “This is Us.”
Joe…as far as I’m concerned, that Hunter King chick can go to ‘Life In Pieces’ (I don’t watch that show, anyway.)…AND PERMANENTLY STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!! SAYONARA!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah…dump the sleeze.
Not that I’m such a great fan of Summer’s, but stupidity must be in her DNA.
That hospital scene between Victor and Nikki? Gag me with a spoon. What happened to her resolution to get Victor out of her life and system? Love? This is love?
Am I the odd bird here? Is this how married couples interact? Oh, Gee….it’s a soap.
But, how many times do I have watch this woman kiss and make up? How old is Nikki? How does one spend her life breaking up and making up with her husband? It has been DECADES. Same old same old. And, they are too old for this cat and mouse game.
‘Gimme’ a break, writers! Would you grow these two love birds up, already? No one cares anymore.
Celia…as always, you are so RIGHT ON!!!!! Also, a while back, Paul and Nikki (as a solid soap couple) had a really GREAT thing together…until that WISHY-WASHY Nikki blew it all to HELL by crawling back to that CREEPY-OLD Victor for, like, the ZILLIONTH TIME!!!!! Stupid woman.
@jimh
Jimmy and Jaybird…..you guys crack me up. And speaking of old men ‘forever young’, Mick Jagger is 72, a great-grandfather and soon to be a Daddy again.
I watched THE TALK today….not by choice! Try to catch today’s episode on utube. You will get an earful (about Jagger) by no other than Ms Osbourne. I cannot repeat it.

Oh my gosh does this storyline mean Nick is going to be speaking those two words “Super Girl” over and over again. No!!!!!!
I always wondered why Nick calls Summer that, Kay. Does she have powers of which I am not aware?
super Girl; really?
My father’s pet name, at that age’ was; REBEL. I went through the ink/blue/purple hair phase, Kay. LOL.
Tim…whatever way works for me. I just want Summer O-F-F my TV screen…FOREVER!!!!!
Take care, dude.

Luca is just a punk in a pint-sized suit.
Nick will make Luca sorry he ever weaseled his
way into Summer’s life, and into the company.
Summer may be a few screws short sometimes, etc.,
but she has a sweetness that Luca just plain took
advantage of, and that’s just big-time sleazy!
Yeah, that Luca in those itty-bitty suits…well they look
ridiculous, and somehow make him seem even more
sleazy to me. Like a punk who is trying too hard to appear
as a decent, classy man. And he is far from it!
Hi, Nanci,
Sorry about that, my friend. I did correct myself as soon as I realized my mistake, but the post didn’t make it.
For a second, Nanci, I thought that perhaps, TPTB were thinking of ‘making’ Luca a good guy.
I do think he is a good actor. The expressions on his face speak a thousand words….that’s hard to do. So, I will give him that.
However, something ‘slimy’ about him just turns me off. I didn’t like him as the priest ( if you remember, the first time he appeared on the show, he played the part of a priest), and I don’t like him now.
As far as his looks? Well, I suppose that’s a matter of taste. I don’t find him good looking or sexy.
Looks should not matter, I know. But, he is described as having that air of sexual oomph and mystique and as being exceptionally handsome. Where?….not to me.
Also, I do not understand the purpose of this baddie. Is he here to show that no matter what; come hail or high water; the Newmans always come out on top? That they stick together like glue? That they’re invincible? That even a ‘lala-head’ like Summer can smell a rat, given time?
Classy? Nah. LOL. I think he buys his suits at boys haberdashery.
I dont see his purpose either, nor do I find him handsome!
You and I are totally on the same page with this guy…

Nick definitely needs to get Luca out of Summer’s life and out of Genoa City! He is no good!

OK, you know what: That Luca dude may be (at times) a slimy snake (or whatever), but, Nick has ‘no room to talk’. I mean…over the years, Nick (and more than once) has behaved like a clueless, drooling and lovesick MAN-CHILD when it comes to women!!!!! Oh…and if Luca is actually ‘using’ Summer…so what?!?!? To me, it’s further proof that ‘Sniveling Summer’ is DUMBER THAN A BOX OF ROCKS…LOL!!!!!
Just saying……….

Dummer is stupider than a turkey in a rainstorm. Luca can have her IF he takes her far, far away from Genoa City.
If not, shower her with peanut butter cups.
You bet, April. Not only are we to suffer through the Santori-Newman ‘cold war’, but I am in deep trepidation…..will Nikki and Victor have bedroom scenes, post prison? Worse yet, will he have spousal privileges in jail or will he continue with the doc? Need to brace myself. Gross!!
April…I think that ‘suffering’ is an UNDERSTATEMENT here!!!!! Y-i-k-e-s.

dr anderson was getting exciting and creepy and she gets killed suddenly….
sage puts the pieces together in a record time on week … the storyline reaches a frenzied pace , she gets suddenly killed and now the storyline months laters hit a wall and marjorly dragging….
wat the hell?… i hope maraih comes to her senses, patty returns, avery returns for dylan and to prove sharons still unstable and nick and adam have a showdown… and sharon is busted! eventhough i want sharon and nick to reunite this ones gonna be tough to overcome

The Luca character is one of the worst characters EVER – ranks up there with the useless Marissa and the hated Daisy Carter (remember her???) Then again, the Summer character is about as useless as a back pocket on a t-shirt!!
FYI – this guy reeks of asexuality – he couldn’t find a woman in a gynecologist’s office!!
Love the back pocket quip, Bart. Too funny.
I don’t get it. I say this as a young woman, ‘Luca’ is not a looker. Not hot, not anything. Now, if we are to talk of gorgeous men on Y&R? Look no further than Nick Newman.

Summer has become a really despicable character, definitely Victor’s granddaughter. I love the way she trashes Kyle and Austin now that she’s found “the right guy”. Translation: Luca is better in the bedroom. I’m one of the few who liked Matthew Atkinson and felt that Austin could have been developed instead of thrown under the Greyhound known as Summer. She forgave Abby for the betrayal but suddenly Austin was this ‘terrible’ mistake, when he’s the only one who truly loved her (not sure about Fen). You can feel the oil seeping off this Luca character (no offense to Miles G-V who’s actually playing him well). So if Nick can deep-six him, I’m on board.
Juliet Donenfeld is the Temporary Recast as General Hospital’s Georgie
May 2, 2024
Those who saw the GH preview for today’s May 2nd episode were a bit confused when they saw a young actress sitting with Lois (Rena Sofer) and Violet (Jophielle Love). As it turns out, that young girl is a recast Georgie.

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”
SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.
“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”
For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
