Alison Sweeney Reveals She Is Making A Return To DAYS In 2020

Photo: JPI

Looks like Sami Brady will be back in action on NBC’s Days of our Lives later in the New Year, according to Alison Sweeney, Sami’s portrayer.

During a visit on Friday to the set of Hallmark Channel’s morning talker Home & Family, to promote her upcoming holiday film for the network entitled, Time For You To Come Home For Christmas, Sweeney chatted it up with hosts Cameron Mathison and Debbie Matenopoulos.

During her segment, Alison revealed “Sami is back, causing some trouble.”  But she was quick to note that it will be awhile before she is seen on-air clarifying “My scenes are not going to air until next Summer, next August.”

Sweeney promised the viewers and DAYS fans that there was great stuff coming up with her visit.  And if Sweeney’s last few returns are any indication, whatever is cooking in and out of Salem that may bring her back on to the canvas, we know it will be juicy, because when Sami is around the pot gets stirred!

So, excited to hear Alison will be back on your DAYS screens in 2020? Comment below.

“My scenes are not going to air until next Summer, next August.”

So in other words, the Idiots in Charge are NOT taking advantage of the much publicized “hiatus” to end this ridiculous 8 months ahead taping schedule? They have the golden opportunity to fix this error, and they’re not taking it?

Always good to see Sami Brady back in town. Maybe she will bring Elvis along with her this time, though it’s unlikely if she can’t talk James into coming out of retirement.

The LAST thing anybody wants to see is another ReRon recast. Every one so far has been a big FAIL.

She’s come back for the finale!, to give the final cliff-hanger, just like Allison Perkins on OLTL, only this time with a big heads up to the fandom.

It’s Re-Ron in his decline.

No one in the cast has a Contract any more. So why not just let the dedicated viewers of this show watch or not without more hype. IMO, if the writing and story telling were really good, Days would’nt need any hype.,

but, they say its renewed so…,
watch for ‘crap in the app’ folks, coming to your phone Sept 2020, but only if you have the app on your phone.

Who says Days is renewed?

Corday, Will, and Gaby,…
No word yet from NBC or Sony,
but Sony will be airing last year in the UK next year…
maybe thats what they meant.

The cast were set to wrap filming at the end of November; they’re not currently filming, as far as I am aware.

“Every one so far has been a big FAIL.”
^^ This statement is so false, though, I shouldn’t be surprised, given how negative your name is.

I don’t think this tapping 8 months ahead will stop. Ken Corday spelled it out in February 2017. “That is the only way we can keep the show going. The money that we’re getting to produce the show is not what it was four years ago.” Corday said that is the reason the DOOL is taping 8 shows a week instead of 5 shows a week. That way DOOL does not have to pay for studio time etc for 13 weeks a year. NBC decides how much money Corday is given per year. This hiatus, in my opinion, could be the beginning of some very significant changes. All the cast members each have to negotiate new contracts which may mean less money: assuming NBC does not cancel DOOL. Peter Reckell is very smart to have left the show when he did.

It’s been clearly stated, multiple times, by TPTB that Days went on hiatus at the end of November and had episodes in the can through August, which would include Sweeney’s. Until there’s confirmation about a revised taped-to-air schedule, post hiatus, people need to calm down.

People won’t calm down because they know best and the facts, and the rest of us are dumb.

Make sure to catch Days of our Lives on any platform you can next week! (The President Donald Trump impeachment hearings could alter the regularly scheduled daytime time slot for the series on NBC).  For, it is a pivotal one for fans that have been following along the major storylines of the innovative time jump that started to air last November.

In one emotional week, Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Justin (Wally Kurth) revisit the last day of Adrienne’s life — which happens to be last Mother’s Day.  In addition, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) goes into labor.  While. Brady (Eric Martsolf) causes tension when he brings Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to his parents’ townhouse for Mother’s Day.  Plus, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) gets an upsetting visit from someone from her past.  How does this all tie-in to what went down that fateful night?

The latest NBC promo for the series promises we will learn what happened to Adrienne, especially since on Friday’s episode, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) told Will(Chandler Massey) he is not responsible for his mother-in-laws death AFTER he signed the divorce papers with Sonny.   Plus major intel on what happened to Brady and Kristen’s baby and how Haley Chen (Thia Megia) died, which had left an anguished JJ (Casey Moss) turning back to drugs.
