When former One Life to Live star Kamar de los Reyes (ex-Antonio Vegas) passed away from cancer on Christmas Eve last year at the age of 56, it was devastating news for all those who loved him and for the family of CW’s All American.

The series, where Reyes played Coach Montes, would wind up being his final role. Beloved by his co-stars, Monday’s night’s episode of the sports drama featured a touching tribute card at the end of the episode in honor of Reyes, but in addition, answered the question of how the show would deal with Coach Montes’ exit.

Kamar joined All American in Season 4 as the coach of Coastal California. He only appeared in the Season 6 premiere episode before he could not film any longer. Throughout this season, there was no explanation as to where Coach Montes was. However, Monday’s episode revealed that the coach was taking a job in the NFL.

Cody Christian who plays All American’s Asher Adams grew close to Coach Montes through the years and Christian also became very close off-screen with Kamar.  In the story, after Asher receives a parting gift from his wife, and avoiding having to say goodbye, he does so by the end of the episode, when he works up enough nerve to call the Coach and say a proper farewell.

During his current run on All American, Christian was the actor who shared the most scenes with Kamar de los Reyes. Speaking with TV Line, Cody shared how greatly he appreciated the time he spent with Kamar while he was battling cancer and in production on season 6.

Cody expressed, “Just to have the opportunity to go in and work with him within those circumstances, to give him the respect and flowers he deserved, was a moment I’ll never forget. I’m not even going to lie to you: Those first two episodes (of Season 6), it was difficult for me to watch it, simply because he’s an incredible man.”

Speaking on his final scenes with Kamar, the young actor shared that de los Reyes was very transparent about his diagnosis and asked Cody to “raise awareness about cancer, and cancer in young men, and the ability to get screened early on.”

A very emotional Christian said. “That scene work was very special, and for me to have one of the last dances with him — as a human being, as the artist that he was — was something I’ll never forget. He was a great man.”

After they said cut, Jophielle Love and I immediately found each other and we hung on like we didn’t want it to end. The last video was taken between scenes on the very first day we met and I remember it like yesterday. Jophielle you are pure magic and you are going to do amazing things in this life. Go forward with rainbows in your heart and know that I will never forget you.”

Love (through the writing by her mom) shared: “How do I say good bye ? Michael and Jophielle have been working together on General Hospital for 5 years now ! Over 100 episodes… Today’s scenes were an absolute heartbreak . Jophielle doesn’t lose sight of the possibility of her parents coming back into her GH life … This scene was way too familiar from one she experienced on her first few months on set as her tv mother went through what felt like the same door … saying good bye … and never returning to this day! Poor Violet lost everyone… Jophielle was genuinely very sad … Her chemistry with Michael on set was amazing from day one , as she always insisted to fix his hair before each take as a five years old. Now she is 10 … and … tears were pouring down. It was a very very hard day on set and everyone was tearing up … She managed to get through it all like a pro , …. It was … very emotional and also amazing. Like a grown up scene.”

In a personal note from Love’s mother it read, “Michael … I speak as a mom today who has been there on set every step of the way , being so thankful for you and for Rebecca Budig’s incredible love and instant connection with Jophielle. There is something to be said about tv families… and even more on a show like General Hospital, where these families have such a real bound as they are part of a long lasting legacy … Like Jophielle does … I really hope you get to come back …. Never say never … we love you Michael and we thank you for everything. See you soon 😘”

However, there is more to it than that. Brooke and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) have invited them to pitch a new business venture. And then, be on the lookout for Danny to perform for the partygoers in a surprise moment.

The genesis of this crossover came from Lauralee’s real-life brother, The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell. The discussion involved seeing Danny is his element. Lauralee confirmed, “Of course he would have a concert in L.A. and that’s how the idea came about.”

This is not the first time for Lauralee dropping into The Bold and the Beautiful. She previously appeared on the show back in 2007 when she appeared on-screen for a court case, since Christine is a lawyer.

However, Michael Damian revealed on his Instagram Story that there is a brand new remixed version of “Rock On” available, which is his signature number one tune in real-life. You can check out a preview below and listen on Spotify and all music streaming platforms.

Moloney expressed, “After 30 years playing Toadie, I will be leaving Ramsay Street.  I can’t tell you what is happening to the character – maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson. Or maybe I’ll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping back over the years. And although I won’t be bringing you our fantastic storylines from in front of the camera, I will be bringing them to you from the other side, behind the camera.  I’ve just started director training and have just finished filming my first episode as director – so I really hope that you enjoy that. ”

“I want to thank you all for the love that you have shown me and Toadie over the years. Three decades, in fact”, Ryan continued. “I’ll miss you, I’ll miss him, and I’ll miss Erinsborough … but whatever you do, make sure you don’t miss what’s going to happen on Ramsay Street.”

In a statement on Ryan’s exit, Neighbours executive producer, Jason Herbison shared, “Toadie is an Australian television icon and Ryan is Ramsay Street royalty. The street won’t be the same without seeing him every week however there’s every chance he will pop back in the future. In the meantime, we’re thrilled to support his directing ambitions and can’t wait for viewers to see how Toadie’s season-long story arc plays out. Ryan’s been instrumental in the journey and has blown us away with his performance.”

New episodes of Neighbours drop Monday-Thursday on the streamer, Amazon Freevee in the U.S. and the UK.  The Australian-born soap just received its first ever nominations at the recent 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards including for Outstanding Drama Series.
