Bryan Craig Returning to General Hospital as Morgan Corinthos
It looks like the teases Bryan Craig was dropping on social media were true, sort of. According to TV Line, Craig is returning to the ABC daytime drama series to reprise his two-time Daytime Emmy-winning role as Morgan Corinthos.
However, it looks for now as if Craig is returning just for one episode. Circle August 1st for when he reappears on the long-running soap opera.
Now, it remains unclear if Morgan will come back as a ghost or vision from beyond, or if it will turn out that he is alive and well after everyone believed he was killed when a bomb meant for Julian Jerome blew up the car he was in. That incident took Craig off the show was back in 2016.

Speculation was high that Bryan could be the actor, GH EP Frank Valentini was referring to when he dropped the bombshell in an interview at the 51st annual Daytime Emmys that “a former cast member is coming back…and I think the audience will go crazy for HIM.”

Craig continued to fuel the fire that he was on his way back to GH with a Father’s Day with himself and GH on-screen dad, Maurice Benard (Sonny), and then an image on his Instagram which looked like the GH set.

The actor began his TV career in 2013 when he took on the role of Sonny and Carly’s (Laura Wright son. After departing General Hospital three years later, Craig was cast on ABC’s Grand Hotel, and most recently appeared on Freeform’s Good Trouble, plus several independent motion pictures.
Now the question becomes is Bryan Craig’s one-day appearance who Valentini was referring to, or is there another male actor from the past still on their way back to Port Charles? Comment below.
Well I’m a bit disappointed. I was kind of hoping for someone else… But if he is only returning for one episode, I hope it will be as a ghost or hallucination to end the Sonny meditation storyline.
Oh Gracie – I second that one. Craig is not what comes to mind with the line “Fans will go wild for him”
I’d even take Ricky Martin before Morgan.
Likely, Morgan may be a vision to Sonny as he nears rock bottom.
As they prepare for their annual July shooting hiatus (starting Monday), they’ll be about 8 weeks prior to air. If Craig is back full time (which I doubt), he could return to shoot new episodes when production resumes on July 29.
He already shot his stuff.
It’s Jonathan Jackson that is returning….besides Bryan for one episode..
Well, if he’s only coming back for one episode, I don’t think that qualifies as making the fans “go crazy” that he’s back. It’s more of a nice visit. There’s either more to it or Frank needs to define what crazy means.
Completely not the one we’re meant to be hyped over… and it’s a return we did not need, especially for one episode.
As much as I hate to say it, the probability here is that Sonny will have some sort of hallucination involving Morgan, which means he’s going to be off his meds for at least two more months.
In any case, as I have said before, Morgan has never been down here in Hell, and I’m not sure he would have made it into Heaven…. so don’t count out a return “for real” just yet.
We thankfully agree on the brief return aspect of Morgan (vision, hallucination, etc).
I also agree that Morgan will come back some day. However, I only see that happening as either one of the final storylines if/when cancellation happens OR they decide to kill off one of Sonny’s other offspring. Don’t know if any soap had six children of one character on at the same time.
I hope someone else is returning too.. otherwise that was a lot a fanfare for a one day guest appearance.
Agree! It better be frisco or Roger Howarth! Or greg Vaughan
Frisco is a remote possibility, given Mac’s ambiguous comments about “helping a friend” during his recent extended absence in South America. Since “rogue elements” of the WSB have been mixed up in the whole Pikeman clusterfuck it’s very possible that Frisco could have been investigating the cabal down south. Which also happens to be the last known location of one Lorenzo Alcazar, the most likely suspect to be the true leader of Pikeman.
Either Frisco or Alcazar returning would be big news. Both of them would be huge.
I doubt a 4th Roger Howarth character will ever happen. And I would be very surprised if Greg Vaughan came back after Jonathan Jackson reclaimed the role of Lucky Spencer. One way or another they do need to get more Spencers back in Port Chuck (as Luke often called it)
And I find it “surprising” that most posts say if it is only an episode…it is really no big deal. I find that interesting.
Im alot disappointed in no way is anyone excited to see him!
They really overhyped that one!
If Valentini was referring to Morgan as the one we will ” go crazy for” , he’s got zzzz for brains and also is insulting our expectations as VERY low.
Disappointed isn’t the word. Not who I think of as someone I’d go “Wild about”. And with all the teasers.
I mean seriously? Let us at least have some fun speculating who it is before you dump it on us.
So no Tony Geary or Jonathan Jackson?
Tony Geary was never seriously an option. He’s comfortably retired in Amsterdam. Although it was an awkwardly written demise (other than Tracy) with Bobbie’s death, zero of his kids on the canvas, Luke just isn’t needed currently.
Well – based on today’s announcement of Lucky’s return, I still stand by my last comment that Luke isn’t needed.
Why would you spoil this surprise for the viewers??? There used to be a time when we were surprised by characters coming back but people like you having to get it out first ruin it for us all! Jerk!
Are you chastising Michael for posting a story that another site reported? Seriously, if one does not like soap spoilers, they shouldn’t be reading blogs focused on soaps.
If Morgan’s one day return is indeed what Frank was teasing, that’s on Frank – not someone who reports on it.
OG Steve, you are very truthful and honestly, I was thinking the same thing! Mr. Fairman does seem to post all comments as are…
I give him credit too for posting the posts that are actually 10 times longer than his original story, and for allowing “the one we all know” that turns the posts into larger social issues…that truly have nothing to do with the story being commented on…
Uh, you shouldn’t be reading/posting on these forums!!
Nor should you!
overhyped and anti climatic, I mean a one shot deal, yeah viewers will go crazy alright for being manipulated for being teased.
ZERO interest in the character or the actors return!
Jonathan Jackson would be better

‘Days of Our Lives’ Officially Confirms Ryan Quan Returning as Co-Head Writer Beginning in July
There is definitely a shake-up going down at the writing team at Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. Now, the long-running soap opera has confirmed, what has been previously reported, that current General Hospital breakdown writer, Ryan Quan is heading back to his old stomping grounds in Salem. This time as the series co-head writer.
The appointment of Quan comes with the official news that current co-head writer, Paula Cwikly, who was previously rumored to be departing the series, is not. Now, Quan will join current co-head writer, Jeanne Marie Ford to steer the ship for the characters on the canvas.
On Wednesday, TV Insider, reported the official confirmation and that Quan will return to DAYS next month in July. THE FUTURE OF DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Since Days of our Lives unusual production schedule tapes ten-months ahead of air, the new creative team’s vision led by Quan and Jeanne Marie Ford are not expected to stream on Peacock until mid-2027.
Days of Our Lives is currently renewed through its 63rd season. The former NBC soap opera which transitioned to Peacock in September of 2022, celebrate its 60th anniversary in November of 2025.
The writing regime change comes after NBCUniversal Media Chairman Matt Strauss revealed that Peacock is expected to turn a profit for the first time in the current quarter, punctuating their investment with the enduring soap opera on its platform.
As for Quan, his knowledge of Salem is tremendous. Ryan joined Days of Our Lives as a writer’s assistant in 2007 after some time over at Passions. He then spent two decades and held every position on the writing team where he previously served as co-head writer from 2016-17 alongside Dena Higley.
Later, when Ron Carlivati took over as head writer for 7 years in 2017, Quan became his right-hand man and main story consultant for his deep knowledge of the history and the legacy of the show. After Carlivati exited the show in 2024, General Hospital hired Quan in 2025.
So, what do you think about DAYS making it official with Ryan Quan as the new co-head writer of the series alongside Jeanne Marie Ford. What do you think about the fact we won’t see the changes on-screen till 2027? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order
In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.
The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

Photo: ABC
In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”
A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS
The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.
Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear. The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.
It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.
So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
