Ashley Jones Has Joined General Hospital as Professor Parker Forsyth!

So the cat is out of the bag, sort of speak! Ashley Jones has joined General Hospital as Kristina’s (Lexi Ainsworth) seemingly blackmailing professor Parker Forsyth!

For weeks, GH fans have speculated as to the gender of “Parker” as it could be a man or woman’s name, but according to Soap Opera Digest, Jones has been holding on to the secret.

The former Bold and the Beautiful star, where she has played Bridget Forrester on and off since 2004, related on her new GH gig: “They were so secretive about it that I’ve been scared to tell anyone. They made it very clear that (Parker’s gender) was a reveal and they didn’t want me to give it away.”

She added: “I’ve watched General Hospital over the years, so it’s just a pleasure to see all these people on set and in and out of the makeup room.”   So far, Jones has shot two episodes of the long-running ABC daytime drama series.

So, what do you think of Ashley Jones playing “Parker”?  Is your interest further piqued in the Kristina storyline? How do you think this will all reveal itself and play out? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

the cat is out of the bag? is that a filthy pun, michael? 😉

I nearly spit my coffee all over my keyboard!

I had assumed Parker was a female, just from Kristina’s lack of male pronouns and, honestly, this is one of the only stories that has me truly interested on the show. I think it’s realistic for someone as young as Kristina to explore her sexuality, plus the added soapy intrigue of the professor/blackmail angle, and I’ve loved both Lexi and Ashley as actresses, so I’m sure their performances will be great. Seems like a great twist overall, but we’ll see if the writing team is up to the task as it continues.

I hope this doesn’t fade to the background like B&Bs lesbian story did. Since AMC died, a lesbian story has been missing in daytime! Hopefully this story will last longer & be well written!

Agree with you a million percent, Tay!

#Hillary2016

I am very intrigued. Love it.

Yes, Yes, Yes……love Ashley Jones as Parker Forsyth and love the storyline!

Please have more air time for “Parker” and hoping she and Kristina get together….it’s wonderful for GH to bring us a fresh, interesting couple storyline….Brad and Lucas are boring…yawn, yawn, yawn.

Parker could help Kristina find herself while falling in love with her at the same time. I know Parker is married but this happens in real life.

More Ashley Jones, a.k.a. Parker!!!!

Someone said a she…oo-la-la…lol

Well, my thought..
It will not be a lesbian thing …

I agree with you! And the S/L won’t last very long.

I hope it doesnt that pretty stupid story line Kristina iis not a lesbain.

My interest is piqued. Bring it on! I’m not too particular about how this plays out, as long as the professor is not connected to any of the mob families or The Cassidines. However it would be cool if Parker had a past relationship with Hayden…

Wonderful surprise! Eager to see where this storyline goes!

Sad. Wanted her back at B&B!

Agreed

Meh, I’m sure this is a short-term stunt casting role. She’ll not be on contract.
A few episodes and she’s gone is my guess.

I rather hope so, primarily because I find the character of Kristina—as currently written—to be so sullen, unpleasant and annoying, that I cannot imagine any man, woman….or even beast….being remotely attracted to her.

Ashley Jones is a real “get” for GH. I hope her acting talent is well used. The storyline has great potential, especially if it is a character and issue-driven story about sexuality, and not merely sensationalistic. And Lexi Ainsworth as Krissy has the talent to make it work, along with Ms. Jones.

Interestingly enough, it is already bringing out the homophobes on another site. So, certainly it has caught the viewers’ attention. I just hope discussion on this board about the story remains respectful, non-judgmental, and non-discriminatory.

Is it gonna b a lesbian act cause Kristina s aid she had to sleep with a professor to get a passing grade?

As I recall, Kristina said she propositioned the professor, but didn’t sleep with her.

It was a surprise for sure, at first it didn’t sink in and then, wham, it did. That puts a different twist on things, should be interesting to see how it unfolds. Kristina sure is in a pickle tho.

I am just so happy that Lexi is back on GH that I don’t care what her story is. That said, this is a great twist that can go any direction. She will be great!

CeeCee, you called it girl!

1. I have always liked this gal
2. so glad to have her back on our telee
3. I’m envious of GH
4. she would have been a great recast for Sami; on DAYS

she’s a natural hottie

Or as Stephanie on Days!! Mary Beth Evans “Kayla” daughter

She could also pass for a daughter of Jess Walton’s Jill…..

Lesbians are hot, especially when they’re bi!!

I should’ve wrote bisexual instead of bi because the exclamation points make bi look like bill on a small tablet or phone. LOL!

I just want GH to return to its roots! GH was about the lives surrounding the hospital. They steered away from it and made me lose interest , while having mob stories are interesting and have a majority of actors surrounding those story lines, I’m happy to bring in Dr. Parker. I welcome her with open arms!

If Parker is gay she will be GH’s first lesbian character in a major role, although I seem to remember GH having a lesbian character back in the 70’s or 80’s

I never watched GH to see normal daily issues play out. I’m probably one of the minority in regards to breastfeeding in public. I say cover yourself. It’s not about anything other then just plain old modesty for me. As for same sex relationships, I see enough in daily life that I just don’t care to see it on tv. Consider me over it!

I am truly beyond thrilled that Professor Parker is a woman and not a man and they have got a proven talent like Ashley Jones to play the role. One of the best storyline decisions and casting surprises in years on this show. GH really honestly needs this type of dramatic, angsty, juicy, soapy and game changing story telling. I am over the moon right now that it is a popular legacy character like Kristina they are putting in this position, whom is full of connections and tied to several core families, and not some unknown unconnected newbie like a Darby.

Lexi Ainsworth is such an excellent young performer and proved in the past she can handle heavy storyline material so she’s got the acting chops to pull this off. We have no idea what Kristina has been up to these last three years cause she’s been offscreen and we’ve have only heard stories about all these bad breakups with a string of boys so there is plenty of room for this to be a believable logical twist.

A lot of buzz has been building in the last few weeks about how Kristina has never used the words “he or him” when talking about Parker to Sam so it looks like people were on to something with that. Molly, Alexis, and Sonny have also brought up “the guys or the boys” but at no point did Kristina ever really confirm or deny anything. I can’t wait for Monday’s episode!!!!

Agree, 100% Nice that this site isn’t generating the homophobia implicit on another site where you recently posted. Enjoyed your post there, as well. It was needed.

Love the potential for this storyline!

Never cared for this particular actress when she was on B&B….Jennifer Finnigan made a far better Bridget! As a matter fact, between that particular recast, Stephanie’s late life discovery of love of pantsuits and the total remolding of the program as “The Brooke Logan Show,” I finally just said an exasperated thanks, but no thanks! That was over a decade ago!

Hi Shay, I had to go “Back in Time” [Great song by Huey Lewis and the News!] in order to speak with you. Apparently your problem has become mine since I was NOT a Sabrina fan. A poster who you are well aware of is breathing down my back and I dont know why? Well, actually, I do, she is jealous that you, Cee Cee and I have a good relationship here. This is only based on our feelings and the sweetness that we share. I feel the same for Jim H. He is a nice guy with a great sense of humor and I love reading his posts and replying to his opinions. That said, this women who has an ax to grind, she took a major swing at me and I swung back and MF took down our conversations! I understand this site has an obligation to keep peace. This is about soaps and it shouldnt be personal. BUT, this women has made it personal. She should be put on notice. I see now where she is trying to recruit new posters that have come out of the wood work because of Sabs death to agree with her and pin them against me! What the F! I am a nice guy who is passionate about my soaps. My anger is towards the character not the actor! This women who Cee Cee use to tangle with is unstable. She is a bully. I notice now when I post something, No MATTER what I say she says the opposite and then her new flunky chimes in against me! OMG, I feel as if I am in high school. I am sad that MF wouldnt publish my rebuttal against my stalker BUT I will move on and see what happens. I NEVER have replied to her BS in the past. When she attacked me, I had to speak up. Its America, right! Bye Shay, thanks for hearing meow out! [I hope this gets published!]

Loved the big reveal. Best GH cliffhanger in awhile. More, please.

Love love loved it…. What a shock! And great new writing and subject matter! GH has pulled it off again for being the most interesting and EDGY soap on the air! Bring it on… Kristina discovering that she may be a lesbian has my vote!!!

Sorry to do this, but it’s like an earworm that just won’t go away (even after reading the article and comments) — the phrase is “so to speak” not “sort of speak.”

Ah, there, I can move on now.

Both sides now hurt her physically and politically. Her character incite is going to be very destructive unintentionally, emotionally-stent, and self-perpetuating in the future. Let’s hope!

Love it,keep it up. The story is captivating

I hope that Ashley Jones comes back

I sincerely hope that the powers that be put Ashley Jones on contract and continue with the Kristina and Parker storyline I see the chemistry between the characters

I think this story line is wonderful, I keep this going
