Nuke fans knew this day would come. On the May 28 episode Noah who can kind of see, now that Dr. Reid Oliver helped him regain his eye sight will catch Luke and Reid kissing!

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine today, Jake Silbermann (Noah) explains Noahs next move: “Sure, the breakup was engineered by Noah, but a doctor hooking up with his patient’s significant other is crossing the line. It’s just too close to home and Noah is furious that this has been going on right under his nose. I think the guy is deserving of a punch, at the very least,”

And while the big knock out punch comes on June 9th, Silbermann, doesn’t know yet know if Luke and Noah will reunite before ATWT goes off the air in September. “They’re pretty broken up at this point, so if the writers are going to put them back together it’ll take some work. Plus, a lot of viewers want Luke and Reid to be together, so who knows which way it’ll go? I do think Luke and Noah have established themselves as a couple who can rebound from most anything. We’ll have to wait and see. ATWT has survived 54 years because of audience loyalty. I just hope it all ends in a way that’s respectful to the fans.”

I hope they don’t put Luke back with Noah, they had no chemistry together, at least not the sizzle that Luke & Reid do. Noah & Luke are like best friends with benefits. They should explore who Noah could be with, either that guy he had coffee with from his rehab place or someone who could come back on the show to pair him up with. Everyone should end up happy, but i don’t see how Luke could be happy with Noah, not the way the writers have always written Noah, always putting other people ahead of Luke.

I don’t think Luke and Noah should ever get back together. That relationship was over and done a long time ago in my opinion.

Well, a lot of former Nuke fans, like myself, don’t want Noah and Luke to get back together. Noah just doesn’t make Luke happy anymore. The endless rebounds are mostly because Luke keeps running after Noah and I really hope we will stop doing that and let himself be happy for once.

Well I think they should they are happy I have been where Noah been it hurts when u lost someone so close and me and my boyfriend had some bad thing happen to us but we tray to work everything out when we have problems and it hurts more knowing u could have done something to stop it

How can Luke ever trust Noah again, to not jump ship at the next bump in the road. Luke gives his all and with Noah it’s never enough, only on his terms and when it’s convenient to him.
Luke & Reid are so real together and I like the way Luke is with Reid so much better. He’s more mature and can make a fresh start. Reid challenges him in a really good way and they are such an awesome match. Luke & Reid endgame!

I have been a fan of lukes from day one However now I am a Reid fan Reid and Luke should ride off into the sunset Noah is great to but everyone is suppose to have a first love and there first love isn’t always there soulmate I think Noah was what Luke need when he was young still finding himself. But now Luke is finally starting to take up for him self Luke is finding out that sometimes people just love you for no reason then you are who you are evertime Luke was with Noah it seemed had to pretend to be what Noah wanted him to be Noah always made look feel second best However Reid loves Luke for who is flaws in all also Luke just always seems to smile and be happy around Reid relaxed with noah he’s up tight like he is waiting for the shoe to fall. As I said Noah was Lukes first love and you never forget your first love there is alway a special place for the But Reid is Luke’s Soul mate and I like many ATWT fans would like to have Reid and Luke together in the end thank you for your time

I TOLLEY AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT REID ALL THE WAY

ATWT has did Jake wrong. I think that all the Reid lovers are over looking the fact that Jake is due some respect as an actor for giving viewers the best he could with what was given. I don’t care really if it’s LURE or NUKE but all the hate for jake is wrong.

get over your self luke and noah is over peried luke and reid all the way and forever

I am over it all Thank you. I really don’t care so chill it is not that serious. It’s just a show,it was fun at first but now it’s what ever.

luke will end up with reid all the way forever and no one will tear them apart and you don’t have to be rude about it

Jake is a lovely guy.I just didn’t want his character of Noah to end up with Luke.He treated Luke like garbage and not only when he was blind. Jake as himself is very personable and nice. And it is a show but it’s a show I have watched forever! people should be courteous on these posts ….you don’t have to like the characters, but lets not trash the actors!

luke and reid are made for each other;luke and reid are meant to be together;luke and reid are meant to be;luke and reid need each other;luke and reid just need to be together let the love take over luke and reid i want to see them to fall in love with erach other i love to see them marryed

LUKE & NOAH FOREVER !!!!!!!!!

in your dreams lady luke and noah is over get over it luke and reid forever

i don’t want luke with noah ;noah treats luke as a doormat i want luke with a real man and that’s reid ;noah is not man he just a boy only thinks of himself and noone else so get lost noah;luke and reid together forever

GAELYN THOMSOM
Hi,how are you?
I respect your opinion but you are mistaken.
The love story of Luke & Noah`s fascinating, even with all mistakes and successes.
Luke & Noah are victimas of the writers themselves who created this wonderful story, with leads us to love them for four years and will be with them until the and.
Luke & Noah(Van & Jake)are loved in many countries,i am one of those people who truly love, and we still love them because of obstacles and difficulties that writers face always make them.
True love will always belong and always belonged with NUKE,even though you and some fans Reid has no courage to admit the truth.
Van & Jake when they are acting together, are so perfect and beautiful that makes us love them more each day.
Search on youtube in the channels on ATWT Luke & Noah ,you and writers will see that we NUKE fans, and many are tottaly loyal and passionate about the boys for a long time.

His words make me happy.
Please reply.
We will continue with your NUKE always.

noah is a little brat only thinks of himself;noah is the one put luke and reid together in the frist place;noah drove luke to drink in the frist place;noah treats luke like a doormat the only resson they were together is that noah gave luke hes legs back and luke gave hes eyes backluke doen’t love noah at all; noah deserve to be alone and leave luke and reid alone already and leave town already

1. Dude, Noah thinks of Luke all the goddamn time. He helped him get his legs working. He helped him when they investigated Reg’s murder, and kept him from getting himself killed. He stood by Luke when Damian returned. He put his life on the line to keep Luke from getting raped by “Zoe”. He was as supportive as he could when Holden died. And now he’s being an effin’ saint, watching the love of his life together with someone else, just because he hopes it will make Luke happy.

2. Noah became blind and needed a doctor, and he wished for Luke to get along with the man that could give him his eyes back. Dude; that’s not the same thing as trying to make a couple out of two people.

3. No. That’s just stupid. Noah didn’t even know Luke when he first started drinking; fear and insecurity and all that shit drove Luke to drinking.
The second time, Luke started drinking because he was embarassed and angry and still insecure. Yes, Noah went to the dean, but lets face it; the truth would’ve come out sooner or later. And if it against all odds didn’t, in the long run it would only have been bad for Luke. He’s the kind of guy with an overdeveloped sense of guilt, and he wouldn’t be able to just forget something like that.

4. Luke and Noah were together because they loved one another. What, you really think the only reason why Luke stayed with and claimed to love Noah, was because he felt guilty? Doesn’t that sound kinda stupid to you?

5. That’s just plain cynical, man.

So dude – don’t shit all over a guy just because he’s made some bad choices. Luke has, too. The thing is; he’s such a golden boy; no one cares about that at all.

is not all luke is all noah; there is something you have to now noah’s father shoot luke and noah did not take resbonalttey for hes father’s actchin’s i watch luke and noah for a long time i know what i am talkin about noah treat luke like crap over years noah keept pushing luke away noah did that for the last time;noah treated luke like a doormat all noah things about is himself and not luke that is not love at all if noah ever love luke at all noah should let luke go and let him to be happy and in love with reid; noah is the one push luke into reid’s arms in the frist place;noah blow it with luke and noah should blame himself and not luke noah should move on with hes life and get life.

(Is it just me, or are you simply repeating your “arguments” from the first posts? Because I think I’ve already answered to this reply.)

It wasn’t Noah’s fault his father shot Luke, and yet he took way more responsibility for the incident than he should have to. (And I’ve been watching their storyline for years too, so if you want to wow me with your awesome youtube watching skills, you really ought to try harder.)
I won’t even bother to answer the shit about “Noah treating Luke like crap” again. So if you would, please go up and read point 1 on my earlier reply. (And please, don’t skip it this time, as you clearly did before. And if you didn’t, you really need new arguments.)
You’re blind if you seriously think Luke is in love with Reid. He sees Reid as nothing more than a rebound. And Reid probably sees Luke as pretty much nothing but a nice piece of ass.
Noah didn’t push Luke into Reid’s arms. If you would, please read point 2 again. And maybe think it over this time.
And that shit about Noah “getting a life”? Seriously? How would you feel if the love of your life started sucking face with a guy you and practically everyone else knew was a douche? It’s also a really narcissistic thing to say, man. Besides, Noah’s life? Is Luke. How the hell is he supposed to move on?

(And, oh my God, I’m begging you; learn to write! Please! “resbonaltty”? Really?)

I’m so happy the way you dafend the LuRe story ! I remember you on facebook always trying to tell everyone Luke and Reid are meant to be together and that Noah should get lost ! I share your opinion ! I love Reid so much, I think he should be with Luke! He treats Luke better than Noah and everytime the meet they always got this smile on their faces,! Reid just got to go easy on People and be less rude, And I know Luke will help him to that ! They should both tell eachother how they feel ! They must say those 3words !
LUKE AND REID ALL THE WAY !

I honestly don’t get what’s supposed to be so epic about Reid and Luke. (With the way Luke’s character is being written at the moment, I don’t really see why anyone would want to start a relationship with him at the moment, but that’s beside the point.)
The thing is; Luke and Reid could never stay happy together. I’m sorry, but they wouldn’t. Luke’s the definition of all-or-nothing, and Reid would never be able to give him everything, as he is a really busy man. And I have no idea why Reid would want a relationship with Luke; practically giving up his career to be with an insecure college drop-out who’s still hung up on his ex.
So what does that leave us with. The sexual attraction, and Luke needing to get over Noah. So basically, it’s all physical. And we all know that’s the best way evah to build an epicromanceomg. (Not.)
I’ve always loved Luke, and Reid is hilarious, but they’re so immature! I don’t think they could have a healthy relationship at all. Sorry.

I truly believe that Luke and Noah end up together. Not only is that “the safe choice” for the writers, but Noah has done a lot of growing lately. (And yeah, he’s been kind of a bitch, but dude was fucking blind!)

(Although I really don’t know why I care so much. It’s ridiculous really; with all of us standing on our soap boxes and yelling at each other – over a soap.)

who cares about noah c{<

THANK YOU YOU ARE MY FAVORITE

noah will loose luke forgood and reid will fight for luke and wins because luke and reid belong together

reid will win

As a long time ATWT watcher and a lover of Luke ( and such a Van fan!) Luke and Noah outgrew each other.it was first love for them but first loves rarely last.Watching Luke fall in love with Reid and Reid with Luke was so nice to watch. They became better men because of and for each other.Watching them was a joy.I never saw a couple like them before and i doubt if we ever will again.their love story was wonderful. And nobody could have made us believe that they were in love like Eric and Van .These actors are two of the best anywhere!i love them both but Van is truly a sweetheart!

Some people must be kidding here. There was absolutely ZERO chemistry between Luke and Reid. Above all, the only reason they were together was a major distortion of characters and history. And I’m talking about the yearslong history of LUKE AND NOAH.

It was totally obvious that some of the writers/producers had only one agenda: to throw Noah (Jake) and with him Nuke under the bus because they wanted to give all the air time to their best buddy who was hyped like Superman. I mean: give someone the air time and those “funny” lines they wrote for Dr. Reid and slam his counterpart (Noah/Jake) who got ridiculously little air time and distort all the facts and the whole history, and there certainly will be some people who fall for that.

Whoever had watched the two and a half years of Luke and Noah before, though, didn’t believe for a second what the writers did to both of their characters and their wonderful relationship from the moment when there was a major change in the writers’ team (I won’t say more, you can all research it via Google). And so the ratings kept dropping and dropping, in sharp contrast to the rare times when Luke and Noah were given more air time and ratings almost always went up.

These terrible writers’ agenda was to throw the yearslong gay couple under the bus and give all the air time to Dr. Superman who was hyped like crazy, whereas Noah was painted as the worst guy on earth and totally marginalized. And everyone who watched Luke from the moment Van Hansis took over the role didn’t recognize him anymore after they turned him into Damian’s little boy.

This fact that ultimately led to Noah losing his sight while he was working hard to build building a future not only for him, but one who would have fit perfectly to the interests Luke had before the writers turned him into a completely different character, these and so many other important facts and developments, were NEVER ever dealt with in a sincere way by these terrible writers. They just wanted to make Noah look bad, have him off air and hype their Dr. Superman.

In the end, they and the people who seriously let themselves be blinded by that whole crap got everything they wanted: Nuke had been thrown under the bus and the finale of the cancelled show was totally free of gay love, romance, kissing and sex. Now, what a huge success!

If you ask me, however, millions of fans all over the world watching and falling in love with Nuke videos still in 2013, say it all. Luke and Noah forever!

ATWT Alum Martha Byrne Pays Tribute to Eileen Fulton: “The Original Soap Star Who Paved the Way for the Likes of a Susan Lucci or Andrea Evans”

Published

Tributes and remembrances are pouring in for the the late Eileen Fulton, who passed away on July 14th at the age of 91. Fulton broke the soap opera mold back in the early 60’s when she was cast to play Lisa Miller on As the World Turns, who would turn out to be the first villiainess, vixen, and homewrecker of daytime television.

Fans of the soap loved to love to hate her for how she destroyed many lives in her quests to nab a husband; especially one she had set her sights set on. In fact, Lisa was married 8 times during the history of the show. Fulton was with ATWT on and off until the final year of the show in 2010.

Martha Byrne, who has been Fulton’s castmate for a time (Bryne played Lily Snyder from 1985 to 1989 and then again from 1993-2008 where she also played Rose D’Angelo), took to her account on x to share her thoughts on what Eileen meant to the genre, and also spoke on how Fulton handled not being as front and center on the soap operas as the years went by.

Photo: JPI

“What can I say about Eileen Fulton. The original soap star who paved the road for the likes of a Susan Lucci or Andrea Evans,” began Bryne. “Since Eileen started on ATWT when the show was live, there aren’t enough pieces of history for us to truly grasp the enormity of her stardom and presence in the entertainment business. I remember being so impressed that she was a writer. The best part was she would use real stories from behind the scenes and change the names. Maybe that was her way of giving the audience a wink to include them even more.”

Photo: CBS

Bryne went to share, “She (Eileen) loved her fans and she had many. I went to her one woman shows and the place was always packed. As the years went on and her role wasn’t as prominent as it had been she took it with class. I never heard her complain as many did who were frustrated they didn’t have a storyline. She was always a class act and a true pro who knew a storyline or another opportunity was only around the corner. She knew her value and was secure in herself. A national treasure who shaped the entire industry. Thank you Eileen. I’m sure there was a pink feather boa waiting for you just inside the pearly gates.”

So, what did you think about the sentiments shared by Martha on the legendary Eileen Fulton? Would you agree, as we have previously noted, that Lisa as played by Eileen, was really the prototype for all soap opera “bad girls” to follow? Did you appreciate the fact that while having a more diminished role over the last few decades of ATWT, Eileen took it in stride? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

‘As the World Turns’ Legendary Eileen Fulton Passes Away at 91

Published

The iconic Eileen Fulton, who was daytime’s first bad girl as Lisa Miller on As the World Turns, has died at the age of 91. According to the obituary on her passing, Fulton died earlier this week on July 14th in Asheville, North Carolina, after a period of declining health.

Fulton was born Margaret Elizabeth McLarty in Asheville on September 13, 1933. After studying acting in New York City, she changed her name to Eileen Fulton, when in 1960 she was cast in the film, Girl of the Night, co-starring with Anne Francis.

Eileen would change the face of daytime drama when in 1960 she was cast as the disruptor to the family dynamic, Lisa Miller, on the CBS soap opera. Throughout her ATWT run, the character of Lisa would eventually be married eight times to: Bob Hughes (1960–1964), John Eldridge (1965–1967), Michael Shea (1969–1970), Grant Coleman (1975–1979) ,Whit McColl (1982–1984), Earl Mitchell (1986–1987), Eduardo Grimaldi (1994–1995), and Martin Chedwyn (1996).

Photo: CBS

ATWT historians know that Lisa’s full name by the time the series went off the air in 2010 was: Lisa Miller Hughes Eldridge Shea Colman McColl Mitchell Grimaldi Chedwyn. Fulton played the role with only brief interruptions until the show was cancelled that year making her one of the longest-running tenured soap opera actors in US history. Other performers who took on the role of Lisa in Fulton’s absence included: Jane Powell, Maeve McGuire, Pamela King, Betsy Von Furstenberg, Lynn Rogers and Carmen Duncan.

Throughout her time on ATWT, it was Fulton’s eagerness to play Lisa as a villainess that contributed to the character’s popularity and therefore its longevity. She was inducted into the Soap Opera Hall of Fame in 1998 and was awarded a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.  In addition, in 1988, Fulton received her first-ever Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series.

The legendary star was also infamous for the grandmother clause she inserted into her contract that guaranteed she would never have to play a grandmother on the soap. In an interview with the LA Times in 2000 she shared, “At that time, grandmothers had no romance at all – and I wasn’t about to let that happen to me.” At some point, this all changed and she became OK with the idea of grandmother-hood. At one point, ATWT fans were so angry at the manipulative villainess played by Fulton that she had to employ a bodyguard to protect her.

When Futon stepped away from the show, at one point, she left to star in ATWT”s 1965 spinoff Our Private World, which aired Wednesday and Friday nights on CBS. In the story, Lisa had fled Oakdale after dumping Bob to move to Chicago, where she wed the wealthy John Eldridge (Nicolas Coster, who later would play Eduardo Grimaldi). Our Private World was canceled after four months on the air, and Fulton went back to As the World Turns in 1966.

When Eileen received her Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, she was part of a group of actors who also received the honor that year including: her ATWT co-stars, Don Hastings and Helen Wagner, plus Ruth Warrick, Frances Reid, John Clarke, Ray MacDonnell, Don Hastings, Jeanne Cooper, and Rachel Ames.

Photo: JPI

For a time early in her career, Fulton not only was appearing in As The World Turns, which at that time was broadcast live, she was simultaneously appearing on Broadway in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and off-Broadway in the long-running musical The Fantasticks.

Fulton performed her cabaret act for many years in venues around New York and Los Angeles. In 1970, she co-authored her first autobiography, How My World Turns. In 1995 she co-authored a second autobiography, As My World Still Turns, to celebrate her 35th anniversary on As the World Turns. She also authored a series of mystery novels. In 2019, Eileen retired from show business and moved to Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Photo: JPI

She is survived by her brother, Charles Furman McLarty (Karen) of Black Mountain; niece Katherine Morris (David) and their children, Everly Ann Morris and Easton Lane Morris of Fort Mill, S.C.; and sister-in-law Chris Page McLarty of Camden, Maine. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her brother, James Fulton McLarty.

ATWT Alum Tala Ashe Scores Tony Award Nomination; OLTL Alum Jonathan Groff and ‘Glee’ Favorite Darren Criss Also Receive Nods

Nominations for the 78th annual Tony Awards were announced Thursday morning honoring the best in the recent Broadway season.

The awards will be presented on June 8th live from Radio City Music Hall live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ with Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, a Tony winner for The Color Purple, hosting the show.

While musicals Buena Vista Social Club, Maybe Happy Ending and Death Becomes Her topped the nominations with 10 each, the list of Hollywood names and former soap opera alums who will be part of Broadway’s bigges makes it interesting drama for Broadway’s biggest nights.

Photo: JPI

In addition, there were big time snubs including: Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal and Kieran Culkin, who failed to make the nominations list, while other big names including: George Clooney are in the running.

Soap fans should take note that Tala Ashe (ex-Ameera Ali-Aziz, As the World Turns – 2007) scored her first-ever Tony nomination in the Best Featured Actress in a play category for her performance in English. The play takes place in an Iranian classroom where four adult students and their teacher leapfrog through a linguistic playground, this is a funny, stunning triumph about the universal foibles of language and miscommunication.

On As the World Turns, Ashe’s Ameera became involved with Luke and Noah, after she fled Iraq when her mother died, after her protector, Noah’s father, the Colonel, was reassigned and imprisoned. Once in Oakdale, when he heard her sad story, Noah (Jake Silbermann) agreed to a marriage of convenience, upsetting then boyfriend Luke Snyder (Van Hansis).

Once again, Tony Award winner, Jonathan Groff (ex-Henry Mackler, One Life to Live -2007) had scored another nomination. This year for his star turn as Bobby Darin in the new musical, Just in Time. Groff is competing in the category alongside former Glee star, Darren Criss, who is nominated for his work as a retired robot in Maybe Happy Ending.

Interestingly enough, Jeb Brown who is nominated in the Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for Dead Outlaw, was formerly the bandmate of Beyond the Gates and General Hospital star, Jon Lindstrom.

Audra McDonald made Tony history scoring her record-setting 11th overall nomination, this year for her starring role in the musical revival of Gypsy. However, she will face-off with former Pussycat Dolls singer, Nicole Scherzinger, who plays Norma Desmond in the latest adaption of Sunset Boulevard, where she is getting all the raves this Broadway season.

You can check out the full 78th annual Tony Award nominations here.

So, remember Tala from ATWT as Ameera? Jonathan from OLTL as Henry? Who do you think should take home a Tony Award next month in the Big Apple? Comment below.
