Academy Award winner, Cate Blanchett has apparently been angling to get a guest  spot on season six of Downton Abbey, where rumors have circulated that the sixth installment is definitely going to be it’s last.

Cate loves the series so much, and got to work with two of its stars in the motion picture Cinderella, Lily James (Rose) and Sophie McShera (Daisy), and told the gals she would love a cameo.

According to Vanity Fair, Blanchett admitted she did “have words” about the idea of her coming to ‘Downton” and has followed up with her agent, but there was still no response.  However, Cate admitted last week she was having lunch with Lily and Sophie and that she would ask the women to put in a good word for her!

Series star Hugh Bonneville (The Earl of Grantham) recently admitted that in season six, the show picks up six months after season five in 1925 , and after Lily and Branson have crossed the Atlantic and gone to America.

So, will Cate get a chance to stroll through ‘Downton’ before the show comes to its conclusion? If so, what kind of character would you love to see her play?  Comment below!

Dowton Abby is not ending after next season. This thing is a monster success on a global scale. It is not only making stars, but helping the production and travel industries of great Britan. If Jullian Fellows wants to walk away, they would hands the reigns to someone else.
