Because the Olympic are in China, I will boycott it altogether. Looking forward to Days returning!

These Winter Olympics will be a lot more exciting than watching the horrible and boring story lines on DOOL.

The Olympics Are Boring…I’d Rather See Days!

I will not be watching the Olympics. BUT I haven’t been watching DOOL for the past 2 weeks. So sick of the devil story.

I agree with Pam Pam. Tried of the devil.

I know it’s stupid I’m so over that

Totally agree!!!

I feel the same! It’s so lame to have the devil in our soap opera-like the writers don’t have an imagination and have to copy previous ideas?

Same I will NOT watch the Olympics in China but I do look forward to see what DOOL has in store

Why can’t they take this Olympics to the sports network an leave the local stations alone

Well, it’s not like anything else is going to be on TV either. Half the TV shows were already on their so-called “winter break” that goes from the week before Thanksgiving until March anyways.

So it’s Olympics…. two more Sundays of football, and everything else for the next 3 weeks is either reruns or dumb “reality” dragonshit… or maybe that’s reruns too, but I don’t ever watch it. It only airs in Hell as a means of eternal torment.

I agree!!!!

BAH HUMBUG!!!

I will not watch the olympics, but I really am not upset that the stories won’t be on for two weeks, because I am so sick of the devil story line and by the Xander and Gwen story line, that is the same thing, over and over, walking around half naked and in bed constantly.

Me to

I love the Olympics. I can’t wait to see them complete. I will, however come back to watching DOOL after the games are over.

Oh barf! It’s disgusting that we’re sending athletes from USA there to this communist country! It should be banned not shown on any tv and certainly not send any USA citizens there at all!

Natasha – As for banning these Olympic Games from any tv, if you don’t like the idea of the Olympics being in China then DON’T watch them. The US citizens going to China’s Olympics DO NOT require your permission to do so.

I love watching the Olympics, but I agree with Judy R. I have been a DOOL fan since I was 12 year’s old. I will continue to watch until I die or they end the soap, hopefully the later of the two.

I can’t believe these Olympics are even going forward…. between Omicron, the boycotts and now NBC pulling all their correspondents and presumably narrating from a studio in NYC over remote video feeds??

It’s going to be a complete dragonshit show…. and not worthy of taking Days off the air for two weeks. Hell, just put the episodes on Peacock… that’s how I get it down here in Hell these days anyhow.

Satan – taking DOOL off the air for two weeks will give the writers time to come up with some story lines worth watching. Seriously, how many times do the writers have to use the same old Devil plot line?

That might be a valid argument…. if the show wasn’t taped 6 months in advance. If NBC were to pull the Olympics tomorrow, Days wouldn’t miss a step, since they already have the episodes completed. It’s also the reason why Days didn’t have any extended absence of new episodes in 2020, even though the COVID pandemic shut down production. The summer Olympics were cancelled that year, but Days kept on rolling. Worst thing that happened to the show was that they had to really double (or even triple) down on the flashbacks as they got to the end of their backlogged material.

I’d rather watch days. More exciting im sure

Me too

I will definitely will come back to see my favorite Days of our Life show. Cannot miss one episode! Love that show for years now (75) ❤️

Me too and I am 93. Not everyone cares about the Olympics. Guess I will have to catch up on Hallmark Movies.

I won’t be watching the Olympics. I could never understand why the do this. Isn’t that what sports channels are for. They can’t dedicate one or two NBC channels just for sports. It’s just like when they break in with political news or something . Ist that what Msnbc, CSNBC AND CNN are for. If you wanna watch the Olympics then go to the sports channel. I for one will NOT be Watching the Olympics especially the Winter Olympics. Guess it’s Netflix, Hulu and prime video for me the whole month of February

I’m with you.

Im not into the Olympics much I’m just glad someone do them

Don’t care about the olympics.

So we will have 2 full weeks with no “Days”. Since I don’t get local channels and I watch “Days” on peacock I will not be watching the Olympics. And I don’t understand why it can’t be on at a different time slot at least for one of the weeks. Why does it have to take two full weeks of my “Days” away. Hurry back “Days”.

As far as I am concerned, Days can stay gone until the writers come up with logical well thought out plot lines worth watching. There is a reason the British Coronation Street is the world’s longest running Soap Opera. Days writers should learn from the writers on Coronation Street.

Well, fortunately for the Brits, Coronation Street airs on ITV. If it were a BBC show, it would probably be preempted by the Olympics as well.

Amen to that.

Right!!!
Who cares about the boring Olympics

I won’t watch the Olympics and will be waiting for Days to come back on without all the Devil crap.

I’m having too much fun in Salem right now. I’m not going anywhere for while!!

This is not unexpected. A lot of regular programming is always preempted during both summer and Winter Olympics.

I don’t watch Olympics so I will be disappointed that I can’t watch days for all that time I guess I’ll have to find something else to do

I will be having DOOL withdrawals. I hate this!!!! Someone better win some Gold for us since we can’t watch DOOL!

I think the Olympics should be on a sports channel where you can watch it if you want but are free to watch your regularly scheduled programming at their regular time…..

I just don’t understand with as many NBC Sports Channels, WHY preempt the Regular NBC Channel with DOOL on it ? Leave some of us that doesn’t watch “sports” of any kind some of our favorite!!!

I will be jonesing for my DOOL FIX everyday so never miss my daily dose of DOOL if I am unable to sit and watch it at 1:00 est I am ok because it records automatically. I guess I’ll be watching reruns of law and order during the Olympics because o am not a fan of the Olympics: I do not look fwd the this. Why can’t they put them on FOX instead of them just NOT BEING THE ON AT ALL!!!!!!!

I am so tired of Days always being preempted for the Olympics. Why is at always that channel? It is really frustrating. I might watch a few events like the skating but that’s all.

Me to.NBC is already preempted with something, they need to stop interupting Days of Our Lives. No I will not watch the Olympics

Omg stuffing it down our throat. We should have an option to watch normal TV.

Nope. I never watch anything that preempts my soaps.

I think Days of our lives should not be interrupted for a sporting event…the Olympics should be aired on a sports channel..makes me mad every four years

I agree with you.Funny even my friend said it should be on a sporting channel. This stinks

I won’t be watching the Olympics. I don’t like that they always cut into Days on this channel

I’m totally not interested in the Olympics taking Days of for pretty much a month isn’t cool. My thoughts on the Olympic games is they should’ve cancelled it do to pandemic happen there and now around the world. It’s bad enough we’re being told we can’t do this and that now we can’t watch Days come on get serious here. Why should we be forced to watch Olympics and not Days. Grrr!

NBC is always interupting Days and I agree China caused a lot of people grief.Cancel the Olympics. They are to boring.I want to see my Days.

Boycotting the games – can’t wait for the return of DOOL! Seems Y&R doesn’t get pre-empted to the same degree

Uh…. March Madness college basketball is about 6 weeks away. That’s going to be cutting into some CBS daytime programming.

I don’t like it one bit days not airing

I won’t watch the Olympics cause it’s in China. I admire the athletes and wish them well. DOOL is much more entertaining and should not be preempted.

Absolutely not be watching the Olympics! Do not understand why it has to be televised on a national network when there are so many sports channels! Will be anxiously awaiting the return of Days!!

I’d love if the devil garbage is over by the time Days is back. It’s just awful.

Yeah I’m sure not gonna miss that devil crap! They should take that off the show, what purpose does it serve anyways? It’s just dumb to bring the demon on a great soap.

What purpose does it serve? It gives me something to do!

I get a little bored with Hell….need to take a vacation every few hundred years or so. Doesn’t a Devil deserve a break?

No, not watching the olympics.

I hate that they interrupt our shows. Why can’t they put it on a different channel

I will miss Days especially now when the action of the story lines are getting good!

I don’t like any interuptions to Days of our Lives.

It’ not fair to preempt Day’s of our lives because of the china olympics, i look forward to watching my soap everyday and i’ve been watching it for many many years please don’t take it of due to the china olympics if one day was lost it’s not bad but weeks sucks please don’t do this!

Any chance that the Devil story could burn up in the Olympic cauldron?

Burn up?? Did you forget where my home address is? Fire doesn’t exactly scare me, ya know?

The devil story is written on paper, isn’t it? LOL

Well, I would imagine it’s written on computers now. I’m not sure how far in advance they print the scripts.

Just like any other time that the Olympics are on I won’t be watching. I hate those things! They always take off all my favorite shows.

Really dont care about the Olympics. Wish they wouldn’t even put it on T.V. Just enjoy watching days, 5 days a week! It’s my happy place.

I don’t know why they can’t airon a sports channel or have their own channel. I don’t watch olimpics and should not have to give up my soap for two weeks. It’s not fair.

Irony there is that NBC/Scumcast has a channel that is literally called “The Olympics Channel”.

You would think they could use such a channel for obvious purposes. But then, nobody ever accused the biggest (and most hated) media oligopoly in the US of being “logical”.

Susan, I feel the same regarding sports shows even though I do enjoy the Winter Olympics. Sports seem to invade everywhere, even on supposed entertainment shows. Sometimes, half of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is taken up with sports news, when the passing of screen legends like Olivia deHavilland, Kirk Douglas, and playwright Neil Simon are given a paltry minute or two. I don’t get the imbalance. I mean, I wouldn’t turn on ESPN and expect to hear a movie review!

The show films months in advance. They should have put the show on Peacock for the next two weeks to add more subscribers to Peacock, and had a one hour summary show to have the network viewers catch up when the Olympics ended.

This really sucks that NBC is broadcasting the games from communist China! I’m done with NBC! Go USA!

I think taking regular programs of the air is a load of crap. Not interested in the Olympics and am sick and tired of days of our lives always being interrupted by some stupidity going on in this screwed up world. Find another channel to air the Olympics on!!!

Not from China waiting for Days to return.

I don’t think they should interrupt DOOL for the olympics. I am not a fan of the Olympics at all and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way! It’s very irritating to me and I don’t like it at all! Go take your Olympics to another network!!!

I agree.

Will miss DOOL but not the Johnny Devil storyline!!!

I’d rather see Days of Our Lives instead of the Olympics

Don’t care for the Olympics

Terrible. Nbc ratings are bad enough. No one watching china games

I have been watching Dool since the summer of 82? I know all the main story lines, and love the show very much. But I also love the winter games as well. Yes I will watch all of the Olympics, and when they are over, welcome Salemites back with open arms!! FYI, I am saving up all the shows from now until Feb 3, so I can watch them 15 mins at a time to get my Dool fix throughout the awesome Olympics!!

I hate that we will not be seeing Days for 2 weeks. I love that show been watching it for 50 years why don’t they put the Olympics on the sport channel.

Days rules. I won’t listen to the negative Sonny and the mob fans from channel 7 who try to take over this thread Will watch some Olympics and look forward to days return

Nobody mentioned “Sonny and the mob” in this thread until you just did…. but (assuming you’re referring to GH) I expect there will be a gain in the ratings for GH in the markets where it airs the same time as Days, and many viewers will probably switch over, rather than watch whatever Olympic events are airing on NBC at the time.

WITH PEACOCK STREAMING AT THEIR DISPOSAL….@DAYS should air prominent storylines of past…. i’d love to see the Hope/Lexie baby switch. geez these two just rocked it out. and/or @NBC should air all of Santa Barbara

I will be boycotting the Olympics because they are in China. I don’t see why we are even going there.
